Problem with the Oracle Listener

Hi,
I cant able to connect to my local DB instance. Oracle service for DB instance will be started running when the system boots automatically.
I faced this problem before, I was instructed to boot my system without network connection. It worked for few days. Suddenly I cant able to connect to my local DB instance again, even though I am booting my system without network connection.
This is the configuration I have in tnsnames.ora in my local machine.I have the host as localhost, because local machine is laptop and IP will change periodically.

  • Problems with the Oracle Pre-Load actions in an homogeneous system copy

    Hi,
    I am trying to do a NW04 homogeneous system copy, and I am having troubles with the ABAP copy. (Oracle Pre-Load Actions step)
    I am with the database specific procedure, so I am creating the new system until the sapinst asks me to bring an online-offline backup and the control file, then the sapinst tries to recover the database by himself, but he finds trouble:
    Error: CJS-00084 SQL statement or script failed.<br>DIAGNOSIS: Error message: ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent Ora-01110: data file 1: 'oracle/XIE...'
    If I try to do the recover manually I have to make the usual:
    RECOVER DATABASE UNTIL CANCEL USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE;
    CANCEL
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
    If I follow the sapinst.log I find that the sapinst tries to recover the database but fails with the above message and:
    ORA-01589: must use RESETLOGS or NORESETLOGS option for database open
    Yes, that's true, if I make it manually I have to open the database with the 'alter database open resetlogs';
    the problem could be fixed modifying the run_control.sql statement that the SAPINST creates at the working directory, but no modification to that statement is possible because the SAPINST deletes and creates the statement IMMEDIATELY before executing it, so what can I do?
    Many thanks
    Mario

    SOLVED
    for your info, the run_control.sql is UNMODIFIABLE, but I could modify the CONTROL.SQL that he calls, so I recovered manually the Database, and the CONTROL.SQL was a simply CONNECT and then OPEN DATABASE, just like that, so I could continue with my installation, another point for us against the damned SAPINST !!!

  • Problem with the Oracle comments syntax

    Dear All members of Oracle forum,
    The problem is select query is executing twice in my script, eventhough i have written only one. hear u can see what i did.
    1. create one .sql file with the below content.
    select sysdate from dual;
    /*its a comment */
    select sysdate from dual;
    2. goto Oracle sql*plus editor and execute the above .sql file.
    3. Ideally it should show the date output only 2 times. But, if you run it, it will show thrise(3 times).
    4. but if we modify the above .sql file like below, it will show the date only tice(2 times).
    select sysdate from dual;
    /* its a comment */
    select sysdate from dual;
    the difference between the twwo scripts is, i have given one space betwen first '*' sysmbol and the first word of the comment (i,e its word).
    Can somebody explain what Oracle is doing in first case, and why it is printing 3 times, eventhough the select query is only twice.
    warm regards
    Murali

    Its because there is no space after /* in your code. Hence its consider / to execute the previous statement.

  • Problems with the Oracle Home Page (maybe Norton Internet Security)

    Hello Everybody!
    Like others messages, I've got problems to see the Oracle 10g Home Page. I can log to the database in SQL Plus perfectly, but not in Home Page. I tried by the following ways:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080
    http://127.0.0.1:1521
    http://{my_ip_adress}:8080
    http://localhost:8080
    and I can't display anything. I've got WinXP Professional Edition and Norton Internet Security. I tried to connect changing the options of Norton's Firewall, but the Home Page doesn't work. Somebody has any idea what´s my problem?? If so, tell me please. I've worked many nights in the solution, but the problem still be there.
    Thanks for reading, and replay...
    Mario.

    To diagnose a installation issue:-
    Please provide the following
    1) The output (from the DOS command line) of lsnrctl status
    2) The output (from the DOS command line) of netstat -a
    3) The output (from the SQL Command line) of
    connect / as sysdba;
    select select dbms_xdb.gethttpport() from dual;
    Please note that the output of netstat -a can provide information that could be used to compromise your system. If the system is on the network, please upload the output to the upload site.
    If this checks out correctly (8080 is the port), then it is a browser issue. These can be legion. Check that you are not going to a proxy server for 127.0.0.1 or host. Check that you are not disabling access to 127.0.0.1 or host in your browser. Check that cookies are enabled. If possible, try a different browser (copy and paste the URL from one to another) Check that the host name you are providing actually resolves to your local machine (ping host)

    HI JLK,
    i think i have solved the problem. Try to install the Oracle Role Manager with the installer and select the "Install Software and Configure" and install the "Standard Model" to the Database. Don't deploy the standard.car file.
    I hope i could help you.

  • After a successful home button repair, I've got a buzzing sound when I make or receive calls. No problem with the speaker as I can listen to online radio stations and my music.

    After a successful home button repair on my iPhone 4, I've got a buzzing sound when I make or receive calls. No problem with the speaker as I can listen to online radio stations and my music.

    I guess your definition of a "successful repair" is different from most people's.
    If you got it serviced by Apple, take it back to them.
    If you had it serviced by a 3rd party, Apple won't touch it. Take it back to whoeever fixed it for you.

  • Is anyone else experiencing problems with the Music App/listening to music via earphones?

    I am experiencing problems with the music app. It randomly stops producing sound when I'm listening to music. Also, I hear a popping noise when ever I walk with my phone in my pocket while listening with earbuds/earphones. I'm thinking it's because iOS 7 is still glitchy. Hopefully the next update corrects the issues I am having.

    I don't have those problems with my iPhone 5.  It almost sounds like your headset isn't fully plugged in and you might be getting static from the cord rubbing against your clothing.  If you are generating a static charge, it is possible that static is being interpreted by the control channel (the volume buttons, or the play/pause button inline in the headset) as commands.  Does this happen with every headset, or just the one you are using now?
    I use my iPhone 5 fairly heavily with the wired headset, and even a good bit with a Motorola S10HD  bluetooth headset.  I don't have the static issues with either, nor do I have problems with volume dropouts.
    You might want to set an appointment with your local Apple Genius Bar to have them take a look.  If it is just the headset, they should replace it on the spot.  If it is more severe and a hardware issue with your specific iPhone 5s, they should be able to help you too.

  • 2 systems with 2 Oracle Listener on Windows

    Hi Gurus,
    I am installing a 2nd system on a Windows server and want to use a separate Listener (with an own port).
    sapinst is not able to start the 2nd listener and it is also not possible to start it manually.
    The problem is that the new listener OracleQAS102TNSListener seems to point to the 1st listener parameter file.
    System parameter file is K:\oracle\DEV\102\network\admin\listener.ora
    Log messages written to K:\oracle\DEV\102\network\log\listener.log
    I already deleted the service and re-created it, but it is still the same situation. To re-cretae the service I just call lsnrctl start from the correct Oracle home directory and if the service is not avaialable it is created.
    Of course I could configure the 2nd listener within the 1st listener.ora - but I definitely do not want this!
    I checked the environment and there is no entry from the other system - so is there anybody who has an idea where the Oracle listener gets the information to take the wrong listener.ora file?
    Thank you
    Philipp

    Hi Phillipp,
    I have a server with two systems runnning 1527 and 1537 as well, and is was
    set up correctly with sapinst. I can query both listeners from the cmd.exe
    as both sidadm users by only changing the ORACLE_HOME !
    Nothing else matters.
    Login devadm -> "lsnrctl status" shows DEV configuration
    Then SET ORACLE_HOME to the other installtion
    "lsnrctl status" shows QAS configuration
    I think you need to use the net assistent to configure correctly, because on windows
    both listeners have the same name LISTENER (which does not work on UNIX at all,
    and causes shared memory problems there).
    So I suggest:
    - Remove QAS Listener
    - Stop DEV Listener
    - CREATE QAS Listener as qasadm when DEV Listener is stopped
    If you manage to get them to work one by one, stop using lsnrctl for anything else but STATUS.
    To manage the listeners, use "net start / net stop"
    Hope this helps
    Volker

  • Problem with the volume keys on my keyboard.

    Hey everybody,
    I have a problem with the volume keys on my keyboard. This started a couple days ago and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. When I press the volume up or down buttons, the graphic appears on the screen as it normally would, but has no effect on the volume of the sound coming out of my speakers.  Therefore, the only way to change the volume of music or whatever I am listening to is to use the volume control within the program/website itself (itunes, youtube, etc.) Even changing the volume on the volume icon at the menu bar on top of the screen does nothing.  If anyone has an idea of how to go about solving this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

    First look into the Preference > Sound > Outpur whether internal Speakers are choosen.
    The only Preference to delete I can discover is com.apple.systempreferences.plist in your home Library folder. You can try to move it out to the desktop for example, not to loose all your settings. Restart and see whether the problem still persists. If you don't know how to do this here some Terminal (Applications > Utilities) commands. Enter them by copy and paste followed by <enter>
    mv ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist ~/Desktop/
    restart
    to get it back:
    mv ~/Desktop/com.apple.systempreferences.plist  ~/Library/Preferences/
    confirm with "y" if you are asked to replace this file.

  • Problem with the hierarchial fields in a Purchase order xml report

    Hi,
    I am having a problem with the hierarchy problem. We are populating attribute 15 of a PO header. some times it can be null. FYI, we are using 11.5.10 instance where oracle supports direct PO template rather than having a rdf file.
    And now in the xml report, if attribute15 of po header is not null then it is fine.
    But if attribute15 is null, then the template is picking from the next available attribute15 that is from the po lines. As the line level group of "LINES" is between the "PO_DATA" (header group), hence the template is checking for next available attribute15.
    Can any one please suggest how to design the template where we can make the template to check only for that tag at the header level group rather than the line level group tag?
    Thank You in advance.

  • Problems with the iPod Touch (sound)

    Hey,
    I was wondering (more like desperately hoping) someone can help me with my problem.
    I've had my iPod touch for almost 2 years now but lately I've been getting problems with the sound.
    When I bought the iPod, I bought some decent sennheiser plug-in earbuds too, because I find the one's delivered with the ipod pretty low quality.
    For over a year, I loved my ipod touch (it's my second one) but one day, for some unknown reason, my sound was at not even half of the usual volume.
    I've checked the settings but cannot find the problem, so I tested the ipod ears delivered with the ipod since they were new, same story (the left earbud was slightly louder than the right for some time but not too long, then they both gone quiet).
    I've checked on the internet before and someone said "try jailbraking your ipod, because that sometimes helps, so I did but no effect.
    So I set it back to fabric settings and went to a switch store, they listened and found it odd too so they send it in because it was still under guarantee.
    Now (today), I've gotten a completely new ipod touch 16 Gb. So, happy as I was, I went home to put my music on it, and what happens? The sound is slightly louder than the previous one but still WAY too quiet! If I'm on the bus, its no use listening to it because I cant understand the lyrics cause of the background noizes the bus makes... Its p*¨ssing me off bigtime that its still way too quiet, anyone got any ideas how to fix it?
    Please don't send useless reply's like get ya ears checked because Im in the army and they get checked regularly and they are perfectly fine!
    Maybe with someone knows some other program or app  that I can use so I can fix this very irritating problem?
    I have had 6 iPods before, from the first one that came out to the ipod touch 16 Gb, and its only with this one that Ive started having problems about a year ago.
    Plus my girlfriend has an ipod too (not a touch) and on her ipod, everything works fine, my earbuds included :s
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance!
    Toby

    Omg, I've put over 2 hours of work in it to reinstall other versions of itunes, ios n such to then find out that they DID NOT test my ipod and sennheiser earbuds that I gave in along with my busted itouch.... They told me they work fine... Now I took my girlfriends earbuds cause nothing worked, turned out they are both broken and now I need to go back to the store for new ones, dont think that the previous itouch wasnt busted then after all cause it was, tried with 10 different sets of earbuds
    anyway Im a happy man again with a decent itouch and good earbuds, that I can lend from me girlfriend...
    Thanks for the help anyway

    Thanks,

    The error appears to come from the ariba code. I suggest asking them.

  • I am having trouble with my bluetooth skipping while its playing music from my Itunes music...I thought that this was an antiquated problem with the new technology?

    I am having trouble with the music from my bluetooth "skipping" on my IPhone 5.  I thought that this was an antiquated problem with the new technology.  It's very frustrating to purchase all of this music and expect great sound and playability and get "skipping".  Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

    Does the issue occur when listening to the media using the speaker or wired headphones?  If it does, the issue is with the media itself.
    If it does not, it's likely a bad connection or interference.

  • In Trouble with the Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.5.0

    Hi !
    Without any problems i'm using the Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.3.0 to access to the
    Oracle database (Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production).
    But exchanging the JDBC Driver 10.1.0.3.0 to 10.1.0.5.0 brings up the following problem:
    the statement
         con.prepareStatement(sql, resultSetType, resultSetConcurrency, resultSetHoldability)
         (with parameters resultSetType = 1003, resultSetConcurrency = 1007, resultSetHoldability= 1)
    returns null !
    while using the Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.3.0 the statement (with same parameters)
    returns a correct PreparedStatement.
    Every hint or idea is welcome.
    Best regards,
    Claus

    Claus,
    Pardon me if I am stating the obvious, but why don't you use the 10.2 JDBC driver with your 10.2 database? The driver is part of the database distribution. Otherwise, you can download the driver from the OTN Web site.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Here's My Problem With the Podcasts App

    So, here's my problem with the Podcasts app on my iPhone 5 - it relies too heavily on streaming and not enough on downloading and syncing. For most of my 8 hrs at work each day I am out of contact with my wireless carrier. And the hospitals IT dept has chosen to block whatever port the Podcasts app uses to stream content. So nothing over Wi-Fi either.
    As a result, all podcasts must being fully downloaded and ready to listen to prior to leaving for work. Unfortunately, even after fiddling with various settings in the app, I can't seem to get content to stick in the app. There are plenty of Unplayed episodes, but when I'm ready to listen, they're not really there and must be re-downloaded or streamed.
    Here's what I am going to try:
    • iTunes will continue do all of the downloading and syncing of podcasts to my iPhone
    • In each Podcast on the iPhone I have Subscribe "ON" and Auto-Download "OFF"
    I'm going to try this setup for a few days and see if it resolves my issue. Would appreciate any other observations and suggestions you might have. Cheers!

    Simple really:
    Delete the Podcasts app from your iPhone.
    Restart your iPhone.
    Continue managing your podcasts from iTunes, like you did under iOS 5.
    After restarting your phone, Podcasts will play via the Music app on your phone again.
