Problem working on Linux

Hi.
Sorry i don't know any other place i could post this to get the attention of a couple flash developers... is there anyone here also developing on Linux? i have this problem http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1055012 and i was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and found a solution... it is really killing my productivity and one day it'll even kill my computer :-(
Cheers,
Harry

Do you have salience referenced in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable?
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<lex install path>/salience/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Typically, I set this in my .bash_profile so it is loaded on the creation of every new linux shell.

  • Text Layout Framework Bold & Italic don't work on Linux

    Hi,
    The bold and Italic in Text Layout Framework is not working on Linux with Flash Player 10.1.85.3. Please verify at this link http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/textlayout/demos/ on Linux, by trying to do bold & italic to some text.
    is this a problem with Flash Player 10 ?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Avi

    Thanks Richard,
    The Bold/Italic variant of the font should be present on the client's machine. Now I am finding solution to how to display the fonts which Bold/Italic variant are not present on the client's machine. One way can be embedding the fonts. Anythings else?

  • Why my RMI is not Working in Linux???

    Hiii how ru?
    I am Rahul here
    Well I have a problem that my RMI in not working on Linux.. so can u tell me the solution to my problem???
    When i am typing following command i am getting exception as RmiNotBoundException
    java -Djava.security.policy=my.policy ChaClient&
    however my Server is Starting normally but client is not connection to server.
    so please tell me the solution to this problem
    U can contact me at
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    Thank u Very much...

    i ran into the same issue dealing with RMI and Linux. My issue was the the stub that linux was giving you gave in the host field the ip number of "127.0.0.1" which tried to make the client connect to itself. this is how i got around it:
    java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=<ip that other clients will connect to>
    so, for instance, if on a client you connect to the server with an IP of 10.5.0.1, then when starting up the java vm, you start it
    java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=10.5.0.1
    hopefully that helps

  • FormsCentral PDFs not working for Linux and Unix users

    I recently created a PDF (using Indesign > Acrobat IX Pro > Formscentral [AFC]) that includes radio buttons, form fields, linked videos set to play in the PDF once clicked and (after running through AFC) a submit button.
    The form has been distributed and we have already had hundreds of successful responses collected in the AFC site, all is working well there.
    One major problem we are having is that we have a lot of Linux/Unix users and the response from them is that they can't activate the videos, the form fields are out of kilter alignmentwise and the submit button does not work. Even when using the proper Adobe Acrobat Reader (v9, for example).
    Is the Adobe development team aware of problems such as these for Linux/Unix platforms and is there a suggested fix that they know of?
    The link to the actual file is here: http://cms.iopscience.iop.org/alfresco/d/d/workspace/SpacesStore/b5a48eac-8642-11e2-8cf8-e 50acbc9fd86/NJP-Video-Abstracts-Competition-2013.pdf
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jesse,
    can you email me ([email protected]) the original PDF (before you imported it in FormsCentral)? Also, I'm curious about the format of the video in the PDF. Does the video in the PDF worked in Linux/Unix before going through the FormsCentral import/export?
    When I look at your PDF on my Red Hat Entrprise Linux 6.0 system with Reader 9.5.4 it does look fine (location of the fields) but the video generate an error (which I'm still investigating). I have not yet try the submit button on your form (as I don't want to submit bad data to you) but I seem to have an issue with the submit button on other PDF forms I generated (when I try to submit from a linux machine). Still investigating that as well.

  • KeyListener not working in Linux

    Hello guys, I'm having a weird problem I was hoping I could get resolved.
    I finished a Pong applet for my Java class, and it works just fine under Windows and on my Mac.
    But when I run it under Linux, the Applet doesn't work correctly.
    The applet draws, and my timer works, but my KeyListener does not work.
    I believe all of my Java files are updated properly.
    But I do not understand why KeyListener does not work under Linux, but it does in Windows.
    I then made a very basic applet just to test my KeyListener, and it still does not work.
    This is how I was taught to do KeyListeners, but if I'm doing something wrong, please help me out!
    here is the basic program code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Test extends JApplet implements KeyListener
    int x = 0;
    int y = 250;
    public void init()
    addKeyListener(this);
    public void paint(Graphics g)
    g.setColor(Color.white);
    g.fillRect(0,0,500,500);
    g.setColor(Color.black);
    g.fillRect(x,y,50,50);
    public void keyPressed(KeyEvent event)
    int keyCode = event.getKeyCode();
    if(keyCode == KeyEvent.VK_RIGHT)
    x += 10;
    public void keyReleased(KeyEvent event)
    public void keyTyped(KeyEvent event)

    What if don't use a KeyListener but instead use key binding? For instance,
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    @SuppressWarnings("serial")
    public class Test2 extends JPanel {
      private static final int DELTA_X = 10;

      int x = 0;
      int y = 250;
      public Test2() {
        setBackground(Color.white);
        setPreferredSize(MAIN_SIZE);
        InputMap inMap = getInputMap(JComponent.WHEN_IN_FOCUSED_WINDOW);
        ActionMap actMap = getActionMap();
        for (Arrows arrow : Arrows.values()) {
          inMap.put(KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(arrow.getKeyCode(), 0), arrow);
          actMap.put(arrow, new MyAction(arrow));
      private class MyAction extends AbstractAction {
        private Arrows arrow;
        public MyAction(Arrows arrow) {
          this.arrow = arrow;
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
          x += arrow.getDeltaX();
          y += arrow.getDeltaY();
          repaint();
      @Override

  • JCombox does not work under linux (fedora) could you help me???

    Hi All,
    I am implementing a GUI for a linux application. This GUI works fine under windows system. But the JCombobox does not work under Linux system. Would you help me to solve it? Thank you very much!..
    The problem is that I cannot select any other item except the first item in the dropdown box of JCombobox. There is no event generated when I click the combobox, while events are generated for other Buttons.

    Which way you prefer with actionPerformed should work either way.
    I think your problem was too many unnecessary Panels and set all attributes before it is added, perhaps,
    not add the panel first and then try to set attributes like layout, color, etc...

  • My applet doesn't work on Linux

    I've heard from some people working on Linux platform that my applet http://astro.ia.uz.zgora.pl/~nirgal/psren.htm doesn't work even if they have proper JRE plugin installed. The same people can run other applets on other web sites. The applet works good on Windows platform browsers.
    Dear Linux users, do you have any ideas about this issue?

    Ok, I hope the code of the main applet class will help to solve the problem. Surely there is some bug (because other applets work). But I'm curious why it runs well on Windows at the same time?

  • DVD/CD drive not working on linux - ubuntu or linux mint

    CD/DVD drive doesn't work with linux mint or ubuntu. Tried mounting it manually but fails.

    Hi there,
    Is the drive being detected when you click Computer or My computer ?
    if not, you can try the following.
    Run Regedit then go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    look for upper and lower filters ; Right click both of them and delete it.
    alternatively you go to this link and download the patch:
    http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do;jsessionid=78DE0C1BFF71FB71B290A830E7E71 A5D?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=445782xml& sliceId=&dialogID=47618490&stateId=0%200%204798466 7
    If all else fails, then you might need to try booting on the recovery cd. since it will isolate wether if your problem is software related. if it still fails, then you might already need to have a CD replacement.

  • Java not working on Linux? Expert answer needed!

    I am trying to run Java 1.4.2 on Linux (Slackware Live). It works, until I try to do something with the GUI, then I get
    "current locale is not supported in X11, locale is set to CX locale modifiers are not supported"
    I have seen tons of this question posted on the web, but no answer. Any help on how to run a GUI Java application on Linux would be greatly appreciated!

    I guess I better go close that Java program that's
    running on the Linux machine I'm currently using. No
    one told it that Java doesn't work on Linux.
    Or, just consider yourself lucky, because luck seems to be a big part of it. To claim everything is ok because it works on your Linux version does not mean something is not broken in general.
    Is it really OK that Java cannot be run in some countries? To me it is ridiculous, and I spent so much time figuring this thing out as it makes no sense.
    I have scanned the 'net for this problem up and down, and it is a very common one, but noone has come up with a concrete solution. "It works for me" is not a solution, and not helpful. Being ironic about it is even less helpful.
    If you have a concrete solution, please come with it, you would be the only one in the world able to give a clear answer and not just general things like "change the locale to something that works". I figured so much already, but how?? Not even hardcore Linux ppl has been able to come up with an answer.

  • Wireless not working in linux, but works fine in windows vista

    Hello!
    I have installed Unbreakable Enterprise Linux 4 in a dual boot config. with Window Vista on a Compaq Presario laptop. After install completed I found that my on board Broadcom Wireless Adapter (Dell 1390 Mini PC card) was not recognized. I have tried installing NDISwrapper versions 1.48 and later 1.47 (after uninstalling 1.48) because everytime I got to the "modprobe ndiswrapper" received a fatal error about an unknown symbol or parameter, and on install I also encountered a "CONFIG_4KSTACKS" error as well. The good part is the light on my laptop for the wireless adapter finally came on and the driver (bcmwl5.inf) appears to be installed and the wireless adapter identified as being present, but it still doesn't show up in the network manager gui interface. So I am out of ideas if any one can give me a suggestion for a solution I would appreciate it.

    I have Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 installed and Intel wifi 5100 card installed on my laptop. Wireless card does not work in Linux it works fine with Vista, I have dual boot. I have downloaded and installed the microcode for the wireless card for Linux,,,it is now active but it does not take ip address from dhcp and nor does it connect when i supply manual ip. it does not even scan for any wireless network. I have WEP enabled on my wireless network. It just says disconnected.....

  • Host Builtin Not Working in Linux

    I'm trying to convert a file using the linux command dos2unix through forms HOST builtin. I've set the path variable in the environment file to /usr/bin, where the dos2unix command resides. I've had no luck converting this file. I've also tried:
    host('/usr/bin/dos2unix file.txt');
    with no luck. If I log on as the same user that started the forms server and issue the dos2unix command through the terminal, the file is successfully converted.
    What else do I need to do to get the host builtin to work on Linux?

    You already have said the answer - the Forms server has been started with permissions that allow access to that file..if you are not logged in as that use you don't have the permissions to execute the file....

  • Triggers doesn't work on Linux

    Does anybody know why triggers doesn't work on Linux machine? Forms are developed in WIN2k and triggers works there fine. When the forms are transferred to linux triggers doesn't work anymore.
    I use Oracle 9i database and Forms 9i and Linux Redhat Advanced Server.

    Forms are compiled on Linux either by opening them in the builder and hitting compile or by using the compiler from the command line:
    Use the script $ORACLE_HOME/bin/f90genm.sh (or f60genm.sh if this is 6i).
    So if you are developing on Windows and running in Linux, you woudl FTP the FMB, MMB and PLL files to the Linux box and compile using f90genm.

  • ASP application has problems working with oracle database 8.1.7

    ASP application has problems working with oracle database 8.1.7 through both oracle ODBC driver and Microsoft ODBC driver
    We have an ASP application running on Windows 2000 server, and with 8.1.7 Net8Client and MDAC 2.6 SP1.
    The application worked fine with an Oracle 8.0.5 database.
    After upgrading oracle database to 8.1.7.0.0, our ASP application works fine except when updating the same data record more than once. The application is not saving our updates.
    We tested our application using Oracles ODBC driver v8.1.7.5.0
    and experienced more problems. We had problems just bring up our data entry pages. In either case, we are returned with some 505 errors in our browser, problems with the ASP pages and IIS, the page is not displaying.
    If anyone has some suggestions on how to fix my problem, please advise. Thanks in advance.

    thanks...i saw one article with this approach..but the document did not present the detailed process...do you have one? i am still searching for a good procedure to follow...since it is an old database and focusing/studying old versions like this is a pain in the a**... :(

  • Log Entries not sorted in Problem work items

    We have noticed that the Log Entries in all Problem work items appear to be randomly sorted. You can manually sort them by clicking on the column headers.
    Log entries for Service Request and Incident work items are sorted by Created date as default which I guess is how most people would want them.  Has anyone else noticed this or can this be configured locally somehow?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I checked my lab, and saw that only incident's log entries is sorted by date:
    Log entries for SR and Problem are not sorted:
    And this is hard-coded, if you want to sort them by date, we should click Date Time.
