Probleme de deploiement du chassis compactrio 9012
Bonjour,
j'ai un probleme de deploiement du chassis de mon compactRio. Lorsque je veux lancer une acquisition d'une voie simple, il m'affiche l'erreur hex 0x80DF001E le plugin de cet element est introuvable Verifiez que logiciel approprié est installé.
Je pense que la cible rt ne demarre pas car il manque une fonctionnalité mais je ne sais pas laquelle.

En effet vous avez surement dû oublier d’installer NI-RIO sur le cRIO. Pour ce faire, reportez vous

Problems with BNC and chassis termination
Hi All,
forgive me if this is the wrong forum but i assume someone here from a test and measurement background will be able to help.
I am trying to measure leakage current using a source meter and electrometer. The problem i have is that the termination method of my instruments is BNC. The DUT i am measuring is inside a shielded diecast box. In order to make my measurement i am using the chassis and the outer core of the coax cable as the reutn path. However i do not know if this will increase noise within the measurement. I am measuring currents in the Nanoamp region.
Also from a safety point of view i am using high voltage and having the return path going through the diecast box does not sit well with me.
Does anyone have any opinions on this or can advise on a better solution?

The trouble is its a leakage current test in the Nanoamp range, ideally the leakage should be as small as possible but i am concerned that the config/setup is causing or adding an error to the reading.
Also i have concerns over the safet of the setup. The only NI product i am using is labview 8.5 to control the instruments but this post is not really a software issue.

Chassis compactrio 9114 non visible dans max
Bonjour j'ai trois systemes compact rio cRIO-9024 avec chassis 9114 ces trois systemes fonctionnaient correctement .
Apres un arret un des systeme ne fonctionne plus correctement, dans max , sous peripheriques et interfaces je ne vois pas le chassis ni le port serie comme dans les deux autres
J'ai formaté le disque et réinstallé les logiciels mais rien n'y fait
avez vous une idée?

Effectivement, si tu ne vois pas le port Série ni la carte FPGA, ca ressemble à un problème d'installation sur la cible et en particulier de VISA. VISA est utilisé pour le port Série et pour détecter la cible FPGA. Tu as bien des logiciels de listés dans MAX ? Vérifie que VISA est bine installé. tu dois pouvoir accéder à la page web interne du cRIO en tapant dans Internet Explorer http://AdresseIPCrio:3580 et voir la console de sortie du cRIO, tu auras peut être une piste supplémentaire pour résoudre ton problème.
S'il faut se loguer, le login par défaut est admin sans mot de passe.

Problems with deployement MC IPS 2.2 into 7206
Dear All!
When I'm trying to deploy a configuration prepared in Cisco VMS 2.3 for a 7206 router with IPS, the configuration does install on the router, and starts working.
However, the deployment procedure ends with the following error: "Unable to process SensorConfigDeploy - Error while converting time from String to Long format".
Could you plese advice us how to work around this error, if possible? Thank you!

Problem of communication with compactrio
Hello,
I am working with a compactrio 9014 and labview 8.5
I have a problem of communication with my compactrio. I acquire sound with NI 9215 and transmit points from the fpga VI to the VI on the real time target at a rate of 10Khz. On the VI on the RT I have two loops, one determinisic running at a speed of 10Khz (0.1ms) (in this loop I will do my signal processing) and one non-deterministic running much slower (20ms) to communicate data to my computer. To communicate data to my PC, I used shared variable.
The problem is that if I run the VI_RT, I loose immidiately the connection. I think that is because the VI is taking up all of the execution time of the
processor and is starving out the communication loop that is used to
send data back to my PC.
Because of this problem, I try to configure my compactrio to automatically run on startup of my cRIO. So I follow the steps I have read in another message in the forum posted by MattP
To make your application (RT host VI and FPGA VI) run automatically on startup of your cRIO, you will need to do the following:
1. Download the FPGA VI to the flash memory on your cRIO. If
using LabVIEW 8, right-click on the VI in the Project Explorer Window
and select Download VI or Attributes to Flash Memory...
2. Build an executable out of the RT VI. Under your RT target
in the Project Explorer, right-click on Build Specifications and select
New>>Real-Time Application. Select the source files necessary
for your application and any support files to be included. Click Build.
3.. After building the RT Application, you will find its entry
under the Build Specifications folder in your project. Right-click on
the application and choose Set as startup. Right-click again and
choose Deploy, which will download the application to your cRIO.
With this procedure, I thougt that I can run my loop faster because I don't have the RT VI open on my desktop (PC), so the PC don't have to synchronise the VI. But when I startup my compactrio, I loose connection with the target...
So, what is wrong with my project? Is it possible to run a loop at 10kHz on the real time processor and communicate in the same time (but every 20ms) data to my PC. Can someone explain me the right procedure to do that at this frequencies?

The method you use in your application to transfer the data from the FPGA to
the RT Host use the Front Panel Interactive Communication that write/read the
control/indicators of the FPGA VI. This method provides also risk of Race
Condition and use uP resources.
To avoid errors in data caused by race conditions and use less processor resources,
I suggest you to rewrite this part of your application with the method
DMA transfer from FPGA to Host.

For the real-time control of a motion simulator I need to send TCP packets of 32 bytes with a CompactRIO 9012. After ample testing we have figured out that the problems we are experiencing are due to the TCP connection using Nagle's algorithm for sending data packets: i.e. stacking smaller packets together and sending them off at the same time, thus delaying them.
On a Windows or Unix operating system one can counteract this behaviour by setting a TCP_nodelay, forcing the socket to send the data the moment it gets it. For the compactRio I have only found this post from 2006:

where it is mentioned that there is no TCP_nodelay on the RIO. Is this still the case on the current systems and software? I can hardly believe that this would be the case for a real-time system. Btw, I am using LabView 8.5 with its accompanying modules.

This thread has been silent for a long time but I post as this matter still seems to be unresolved.
I asked the question "How to disable Nagle algorithm in cRIO" to NI a long time ago, they did not follow up. My problem was the same as yours, long latency times for a TCP based host-server setup between a PC and the cRIO.
My solution was to use the NODELAY option in winsock as described in this link http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7EFCA5D83B59DFDC86256D60007F5839
this solved the problem on the PC side.
On the cRIO however, I never found a solution. I tried to look for the setsockopt function, knowing that cRIO is based on VxWorks. The idea was to load the function using the call library function as you would do on Linux. But I never found the library.
My solution was to pad the size of the messages from the cRIO up to approximately 1500bytes. This lowered the latency and thereby the efficiency of my system.

Deployable Proxy with two wsdl files
Hello,
I have a problem with deployable proxies and two wsdl files.
In wsdl A returns a method an object of type Foo.
In wsdl B a method expects a parameter of type Foo.
Foo is a class of the Web service provider.
I created a new deployable proxy called p.
For both wsdl files I chose Create -> new client proxy definiton and for both of them I had to create a new package (a and b).
Now I have two Foo classes:
p.a.types.Foo and p.b.types.Foo
But I would like to have only one Foo class and use it for both proxy definitions.
Is this possible?

our Problem:
Use NI MAX connect cRIO-9004, it displays "Safemode (improper installation)". I installed the software for cRIO-9004 for several times, it still display this information.
Besides, the 'Status LED' on cRIO-9004 flashes two times continually, which means software is interrupted according to the manual.Have you tried reformating the cRIO-9004 and reinstalling the software on it? I've attached an article that goes over how to do this.

Logging at 10kHz in TDMS format

I am developing executable application to log 8 channels data using C series 9205 Analog Input module, 9112 chassis and 9012 controller. Windows Home premium operating system, above 4 GHz processor and 800 GB memory to log the data continuously for 3 days. Is it achievable?
Recently I developed an application and now I found that it hangs up after 90 minutes of logging leaving user with no choice but to shutdown the computer.
Not sure if it I could improve application reliability by upgrading operating system or is it to do with file format? Please advise

AustinVery difficult to say, given the few details provided, but I'm guessing it's your code, not your OS or file. Can you post your code? It sounds like you have a memory leak, or a greedy loop, or one of those other things we see here on a regular basis. When your program hangs, is your CPU usage at 100%? Does your memory usage increase the longer your code runs?
Certainly what you want to do is achievable. Are you using a producer-consumer architecture? Do you create the DAQ task once, acquire data, then stop and close it when you're done, or are you creating and destroying the task with every loop iteration? Do you open your file once, write to it, then close it when you're done, or do you open and close it each time you write to it?
Are you using the dreaded Assistants?
More details, and seeing your code, will help us to point you in the right direction. Without code, we can really only guess as to where the problem is.

Hi everyone
I am using a cRIO 9014 with NI 9239. The analog signal from the 9239 card has a DC offset of 4-5mv which is way too much for my application. I have a cDAQ 9172 USB chassis and the card works fine with it, offset is around 6-7 micro volts with it.
Is it a problem with the rio chassis ? Can anyone tell me the reason for the offset and how I can get rid of it ?

If your using Fixed Point data for your IO in your FPGA application, then you'll want to make sure the data comes out of the DMA FIFO as fixed point as well. If your using LabVIEW 8.5.x then there is an additional step you need to perform. The following KnowledgeBases will help you out.

Clientgen does not fully qualify superclasses
I have datatypes that extend classes in a different package. When I use
WLS81 ANT task clientgen to generate client-jars from WSDL files obtained
from web services generated by servicegen, the superclasses are not fully
qualified in the generated java code, nor are there import statements for
the superclasses. This causes the generated code to have compile errors.
Other dependencies are fully qualified in the generated code, but the

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the WSDL was generated by querying the URL
of the deployed webservice. If there is something missing from the WSDL,
it may be due to servicegen, or a problem with deployement. All of this
used to work in WLS 7.0 sp1.
I submitted this case (459937) to BEA Support on 11/12/03 and have given
them my EJB jar file so they can reproduce the problem using servicegen.
I would appreciate any input you can provide to resolve this problem, but
you can let Support handle it from here if you wish.

In looking at your WSDL, on the surface I'm concerned that the imports
should be something like <xsd:import namespace="..."
schemaLocation="myschema.xsd"/> so it may not be including your

How to create a pushbutton delay in the FPGA module in Labview 8.2
I am a very inexperienced programmer of Labview, and I have what I thought would be a simple problem. I have a CompactRIO system that utilizes Labview 8.2 as well as RT and FPGA modules. I am running an end of line tester that uses a pushbutton to start the test. I am looking to force an operator to hold the test start pushbutton for one second before testing begins. If the pushbutton is released before the second is up, the test will not start. In the FPGA module, I cannot figure out how to accomplish this. I have tried using both flat sequence and while loops, but I cannot get the program to work as stated above. With the flat sequence there is not a way, that I could see, to break out of the sequence should the pushbutton be released. Using the while loop, I was closer to a solution, but could not get the program to read the input consistently. I did verify that the 24Vdc signal is getting to the input card whenever the pushbutton is pressed. The program worked fine without trying to add the delay when I was just looking for a transistion to 24Vdc on the input card when the pushbutton was pressed.

Cannot build EJB jar file in NWDS
hello,
I changed java beans file, and tried to build jar file again, then the "build EJB archive" context menu is disabled so I can not make EJB jar file!
So frustrated.. NWDS recognizes the changes in the java files , right? How come there 's no Build menu..
Is there any pre-requisite to enable the menu?
I have no idea how I can build jar file..

Make sure that the tool doesn't leave this ejbcgen directory around. It
should delete
that temp dir. When it doesn't it keeps all the old generated stuff around
and your changes won't be
reflected in the new jar.

In order to update a jar I have to copy the newer version in the

Some weird behaviour of my Applet
I've created an applet which uses Java2D to blur an image file (image0.jpg)and display it in the browser. I can compile it with no problem but when i run the applet using the browser. The following message appears in the bottom of the browser "Start: applet not initialised". Best use a MediaTracker for waiting before you query the size. Somthing like this (uncompiled on-the-fly-code):

MDS 9216 - showing red status LED, not starting up
Hi,
In a recent power loss (took out our R&D UPS in the process), an MDS 9216 we have in R&D failed.
On power up, it shows a red status LED, and does nothing. We've pulled and swapped PSUs (something we're told is a common fix for a common problem with these chassis), to no avail.
Strangely, we pulled the fan card (which had a green light), and put it back in to see it now also has a red status light.
We've swapped all cards around for new and spares (even the main cards) and they show up with red status lights in the chassis (can't test them in another chassis at present) so I assume this problem is with the chassis itself (ie the backplane or PSUs).
Any ideas, any similar experiences?
Many thanks,As far as warranty, it would be covered for 1 year or 90 days from purchase....not sure which, but since the 9216 is end of sale for a few years now, I doubt that is covered under warranty. If you have a maintenance contract covering that 9216 serial number, then it would be covered. The design on the 9216 is that the module 1 is not field replaceable. There is no Cisco part number for the slot1 line card. It is a hybrid of a 16 port FC module with a supervisor daughter card. It is basically considered part of the chassis. If you have your own spare 9216 and feel energetic you could replace the slot 1 line card....but from the official support perspective, it is not replaceable.
There are no other replaceable parts besides the chassis and PS that would cause this problem. (I assume you have removed any line card from slot2 to be sure it was not causing the problem).
