Problems connecting to verity collection creation form

1. Am running CF MX7. Am following directions in CF
documentation to create a form by which a user can create a CF
Collection for a Verity search. I'm having several problems.
2. I created a form and an action page, that it's suggested
that I put in the MyApps directory in the cf_root. Well, Since I'm
running IIS, I don't have a MyApps folder or a cf_root folder, the
root folder of the default Website, is wwwroot/. And I've created a
MyApps folder and put both pages in the folder.
3. It suggests that to access the Create Collection form, one
should type
http://Hostname:Port/myapps/name
of file.cfm
So I've tried many purmutations of that. I continue to get a
Page not found error. No CF errors, just a page not found error.
4. One other item may be affecting this problem, but I don't
know how to get around it. The Home page of the site is in a
subfolder of the wwwroot folder as apposed to being dumped directly
into the wwwroot folder.
Can anyone assist me? WCW

Thanks, I did do that, and also changed the URL I was using
to access the Create Collection form. I am running IIS, also, my
Website root folder is not actually inside the wwwroot or Inet Pub.
But the Home Page is set to the actual location of the Website
folder. So, the MyApps folder is inside the root folder of the
Website, even though it's in a different location.
Don't understand why you need a port number. And what port
number would that be anyway? If I put port 80, which is the port of
the Web site, hit enter, it just disappears when the browser
resolves the address. Don't really need it.
Anyway, I can get to the creation form, create a collection,
and have written pages to index the collection.
Now my problem is that the results I get when executing a
search is a list of Paths, not URLs. Very strange. Don't know if
I'm filling out the form wrong or whether my coding is wrong, but
Search results should NOT show the PATH to the page, but the URL.
Does anyone recognize this incorrect result? Any idea of what
I could be doing wrong? If so, I could really use some assistance.
Thanks, WCW

  • Problem connecting to XE database using Forms Developer 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
    I installed Oracle XE successfully and then Oracle developer 10.1.2.0.2.
    I can't connect to the xe database I guess because the tnsnames.ora doesn't have the correct entry for this connection.
    Can anyone help me with creating the correct tnsnames.ora entry for the xe database.
    The current entry in tnsnames .ora is,
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: C:\DevSuiteHome_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = CallistoLaptop)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    )

    Actually your tnsnames.ora does not contain any alias for DB connections (what you posted is for external procedures).
    In Developer suite menu you should have Net Configuration Assistant : use it to create an alias to connect to your DB.

    Configure the net configuration for both 9idb and 9ids in the same way. Make sure the TNSlisner is started.

    You're searching the "southernrefecontent" collection here,

  • Problems connecting multiple macs to an Airport Extreme network.

    I think this problem is similar to a previous post, but is individual in some ways.
    I have 2 Airport Extreme basestations covering a large flat connected by Ethernet extending a single network. I did try to extend the network wirelessly, but this was plagued with problems where the network would work for 10 mins, then drop out as I think the basestations are slightly too far apart.
    Connected to the network are a number of machines:
    Wirelessly we have 3x iPhones, 1x G4 Cube, 1x iMac (current model), 2x MacBook Pro (previous model) & 1x PC.
    Wired via a hub is an Apple TV, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Denon Home Cinema Amp, PS2
    For aprox 6 months I have had major problems connecting all the wireless machines at the same time. I have played around with the security as per previous posts with varying degrees of success.
    I seem to have the most problems with the iMac. The iMac will not join the network when there is any form of wireless security. Every time I try to set up a password it hangs when trying to join and I finally get the "There was a error joining xxxx network".
    After more playing around I managed to get all the machines working by having no security on the network and locking the network down by MAC addresses.
    Since last Thursday I now have a new problem. The iMac joins and stays on the network perfectly, but the second my second MacBook Pro is switched on and joins the network, the internet connection on the iMac drops out. In addition, as we use the iMac as a media server, all other machines connected to the iMac for either file sharing or iTunes sharing then get the error "the remote machine is failing to respond. Please check firewall settings if there are any". What is strange is that the iMac remains on the network, full signal, independent IP address and the second the MacBook Pro is switched off, works perfectly again.
    I have tried wiping both the iMac & the MacBook Pro and re-installing their operating systems, but this only solves the problem for aprox 24 hours then all of a sudden the issue re-appears.
    Can anyone out there help?

    Let's double-check the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) settings ...
    Perform a "factory default" reset of the AX
    o (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044)
    Either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, check the following settings:
    AirPort > Base Station

  • On submit button type - There was a problem connecting to the server.

    Hi,
           Please give me a solution for server connection issue. I am new to the adobe live cycle designer ES4.
    I created a web form use of adobe live cycle es4 v.11.0 to retrieve the data from web service method. So, I created the WSDL type data connection in data view menu to invoke the .asmx?wsdl service and connection is established successfully. Then, I dragged and drop a button from object library window to invoke the service method and changed the type as submit button. In the submit button URL, I given the web service url as eg. http://<localhost>:<port>/Web_serive.asmx?wsdl. Finally, I saved it has a PDF file.
        When I click the submit button, a pop up window is openning as 'preparing for submit..' and 'Receving data..' and finally, it shows a pop up error message as 'An error occured during the submit process. There was a problem connecting to the server'. I tried all possiblities and if any bad english grammer, sorry for that.
    Please give me a proper solution for this issue.
    With Regards,
    G. Prabakaran.

    After trying these suggested actions several times success has not been reached.
    I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful and you get same error message. I would follow these steps.
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
    8.  Try again to access ePrint.
    Let me know how it goes.
    I am able to print wirelessly to the printer, print through eprint, scan, and copy things. The only thing that is not working is the printer itself connecting to the hpeprintcenter.com.

  • Problem connecting to MS Exchange 2007 on SBS 2008

    I am having problems connecting to Exchange via cfexchangeconnection. Our ColdFusion environment is CF9 Enterprise on Win 2008, and the Exchange host is Win SBS 2008 (which uses IIS7).
    After having worked through the documentation and following all procedures outlined at
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec14f31 -7fed.html
    plus googling intensively, we have the following method to test the connection
    <cfexchangeconnection action="open"
             connection="thisExchangeConnection"
             server="portal.mydomain.com"
             protocol="https"
             formBasedAuthentication="true"
             formBasedAuthenticationURL="https://portal.mydomain.com/owa/auth/owaauth.dll"
             mailboxname="myMailBox"
             username="myUsername"
             password="myPassword" />
    <cfdump var="#thisExchangeConnection#">
    <cfexchangeconnection action="close"
             connection="thisExchangeConnection" />
    The IIS7 implementation in SBS 2008 is quite a lot different to Win 2008, so there are some question marks around some steps in the above documentation. However, we have made sure that:-
    1) you can use the credentials above to login via a web browser
    2) WebDav is on in IIS
    3) there is no IWA and forms based authentication is on
    4) certificates are installed correctly on both the CF and Exchange servers
    5) the myUsernameaccount has correct permissions in iis/owa/exchange
    Despite this, the net result is always
    Access to the Exchange server denied.
    Ensure that the user name and password are correct.
    From research it seems that a lot of people have issues where the underlying problem is actually an Exchange 440 timeout error where the password in the IUSR_<servername> and IWAM_<servername> (IIS/Active Directory) is out of sync.
    I was pinning my hopes on the above being the problem but now I find that in SBS 2008 there is no IWAM_<servername> server account.
    All this leads me to ask is SBS 2008 actually compatible with the cfexchange tags in CF9? There is nothing in the documentation that I can find that syays that it isn't, but given the amount of time we've spent on what should be straightforward I am wondering if we are on a hiding to nothing. Anyone from Adobe care to comment?
    If anyone has managed to get this to work specifically with SBS 2008, or has any advice I'd be grateful to here from you.

    Hi,
    As said by Sneff , I would also recommend to enable Logging to get more detailed information. Also follow
    Configuration of POP/IMAP on SBS 2008 Refer to :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2008/09/19/how-to-configure-sbs-2008-to-host-pop3-imap4.aspx

    As per the error code, you need to follow
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514/EN-US
    I would also disable AV on both Client machine and TEST , including the Filters of AV.

  • Cannot connect Oracle 10 with Oracle Forms 6i

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to oracle 10g database (Release 10.1.0.5.0) from Froms 6i (Version 6.0.8.11.3) but no luck.
    As soon as I try to connect to Oracle 10, the forms builder is closing itself down. All I get is the useless windows error message saying that "Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close."
    It may be that the version of forms I am using doesn't support Oracle 10. Anyone has encountered this and if so knows a workaround for this problem.
    Thanks very much.

  • Collection Data Form in invisible mode.

    Hi,
    We are using zcm 10.3 installed on SLES 11. Our clients are XP SP3. I have configured a collection data form with autofill and checked "Invisible mode for autofill only" In the autofill settings I have entered a environment variable. I have configured a Collection data form schedule to run "When a device is refreshed". The collection data form never pick up the environment variable value when running a refresh. When I right click on the ZenWorks notify icon and choose "Collection data form" the environment variable value configured in autofill is picked up.
    Autofill worked well when refreshing a device in zcm 10.2.2.
    Does anybody know if this is a known "bug"?

  • Problems Post installation - Oracle 8i and Forms 6i

    Hello,
    This is with respect to the two issues I am encountering in Oracle. Kindly somebody help with these issues as it is urgent.
    PLEASE GO THROUGH EACH AND EVERY POINT BEFORE ARRIVING AT A CONCLUSION
    1. With the Post Oracle database installation
    2. Oracle forms connectivity to the Oracle database (FORMS WAS INSTALLED PRIOR TO ORACLE INSTALLATION)
    I will start with the 1st issue (Post Oracle database installation)
    Steps A01
    1. I unistalled an existing version 8.1.7 using the steps mentioned in the following link (http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/ManualOracleUninstall.php)
    2. I chose typical installation (default, all the rest of installation methods were default)
    3. Gave SID as ORCL_DB
    4. Created database by installation
    5. connected to SYS using default password - no problem
    6. Created another user usr01 and granted necessary privileges Was able to logon to the database using usr01. No problem
    But if I do a restart of the machine and then I am encountering an error ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist after which I am unable to connect to the database.
    ##### (PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM ABLE TO CONNECT TO ORACLE FOR THE FIRST TIME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THE ERROR IS THROWN IF WE REBOOT THE MACHINE AND TRY TO CONNECT TO ORACLE) ###
    The steps I tried to troubleshoot this
    a. Checked the oracle network admin directory. All the config files are there (TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA, LISTNER.ORA)
    b. did a tnsping
    c:\tnsping ORCL_DB
    NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. GETTING OK FOR THE PING
    c. Checked the oracle registries.
    Could find all these entries have the correct value:
    ORACLE_HOME - C:\ORACLE
    ORACLE_SID - ORCL_DB
    ORACLE_BASE - c:\oracle
    There were no extra slash or extra character with the registry entries.
    Now the the post forms installation scenario
    Steps A02 (FORMS WAS INSTALLED PRIOR TO ORACLE INSTALLATION)
    1. Installed forms (directory c:\orant)
    Steps A03
    1. Copied the contents tnsnames.ora file entries from oracle\network\admin directory to the orant\net80\admin\tnsnames.ora file
    2. Tried to connect to oracle forms (user : usr01, database : ORCL_DB).
    Got error : ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
    3. Created an environment variable : tns_admin with value c:/oracle/network/admin. Tried to connect again
    Now getting another error : unable to connect to the destination : ora-12203 (unable to connect to destination)
    I have installed forms and oracle in separate directories. Can somebody help to resolve these issues?
    Thanks in advance
    Chanaya
