Problems deploying an icefaces 1.8.2 application in weblogic 12

Good morning,
I'm having several problems when I'm trying to launch an application in weblogic 12 developed with icefaces 1.8.2. The application was developed under Netbeans 7.0.1 and for Glassfish use initially, but now I'm trying to run it under Weblogic12.
The project has the following libraries:
icefaces-1.8.2.jar
icefaces-comps-1.8.2.jar
icefaces-facelets-1.8.2.jar
jsf-api-1.2.jar
jsf-impl-1.2_11.jar
In WEB-INF i've got the following files:
weblogic.xml
web.xml
sun-web.xml
faces-config.xml
When i try to run the application i've got the following error:
[com.icesoft.faces.context.View] - Problem encountered during View.servePage

1.- I've deployed jsf1.2.war on Weblogic.
2.- I've deployed my web application.
3.- I've created weblogic.xml on WEB-INF directory with the following content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<weblogic-web-app xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-web-app">
<library-ref>
<library-name>jsf</library-name>
<specification-version>1.2</specification-version>
<implementation-version>1.2</implementation-version>
<exact-match>false</exact-match>
</library-ref>
</weblogic-web-app>
Any idea to help? thank you very much!

Hi Oriol -
The error being reported is that a class can't be found:
>
[com.icesoft.faces.context.View] - Problem encountered during View.servePage
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.icefaces.x.context.BridgeFacesContext2
at weblogic.utils.classloaders.GenericClassLoader.findLocalClass(GenericClassLoader.java:297)
>
Looking around, it seems this is caused by having JSF 2.x in the classpath, which is not compatible with ICEFaces 1.8.x.:
http://jira.icesoft.org/browse/ICE-4704:
>
ICEfaces 1.8.x is not certified to run on JSF 2.0 runtimes. When this combination is attempted with ICEfaces 1.8.1, it fails with an exception such as
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.icefaces.x.context.BridgeFacesContext2
>
Since WLS 12c provides a JSF 2.1.x environment by default, you will need to employ the JSF 1.2 alternative. From a previous discussion here on an OTN forum, I believe there was an additional step required to make it work, see here for details:

    Hi
    I have deployed an 10.1.3.2 built application on weblogic 10.3 Deployment is successful. I have even configured SQLAuthenticator as part of Default myrealm on the server. But still i get Unauthorised access error while login. Can anyone direct me what i wrong i am doing. This application works well with OC4J and Tomcat.

    Yes it does use container managed security. Same as it is done in SRDEMO but the only difference is that i have used DBTableLoginmodule on tomcat and OC4j. Can u pls tell me what i need to check.

  • Problem Deploying Oracle PDK Portlet to Oracle Application Server 9.0.4.0

    I have a big issue trying to deploy a pdk portlet I have created in JDeveloper (10.1.2). The application is very simple, it consists of 2 JSP's (call them Select.jsp and Display.jsp) and 1 Java Class (Call it DoEverything.java).
    The architecture of the system is VERY simple. The Select.jsp is a simple drop down list that is embedded in an html form, with the options in the drop down populated by a method call from DoEverything.java. Once the user selects an option and hits submit, he is sent to the Display.jsp, which is a simple html table that is populated by another method call from DoEverything.java. (Basically the whole system is a simple "view" of a given table in a DB based on the option selected in Select.jsp).
    The system works perfect in JDeveloper, where I created it using the Oracle PDK Java Portlet wizard. However I'm running into a problem when I try and take it over to the Application Server. The main documentation I have been following is the: Oracle® Application Server Portal Developer's Guide and in particular the section 6.6.2.4.1 Creating a Connection to Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE where it explains how to connect to the App. Server. The line "The steps that follow describe the procedure for deploying to a standalone instance of Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE. For information about deploying to a full Oracle Application Server instance, please refer to the Oracle JDeveloper online Help system." is the one that is bothering me the most as I am trying to deploy to a full instance of the Oracle Application Server, but I cannot find anywhere that walks me through this in the online JDeveloper help.
    Anyway, currently we ftp the appropriate JSP's, Java Class, provider.xml and provider properties files to their respective directories on the Application Server, register the provider and reboot the Http Server. (This has worked before except for the fact that when the user selected an option from the Select.jsp and the request was then sent over to the Display.jsp based on the form action the Display.jsp wasn't recognized. We figured the provider.xml file needed to be edited in this case in order to know where Display.jsp was being kept). In any event nothing seems to be working at the moment and my main concern is that it maybe we should be deploying as EAR/WAR (both of which I'm not super familiar and my second main concern is that it seems most people use JavaBeans and Struts and all sorts of different API's whereas here I just have a fairly simple Java Class back end that connects to the database and creates an object based on the attributes contained in the database (1 object for 1 unique row in the DB) and I want to be sure that the way I have developed this should still work with the Oracle AS. I'm hoping its just a matter of getting the directory structure straightened out and editing the provider.xml file to include all the JSP's.
    Sorry for the long post, but if you could address my two main concerns and possible give me or point me towards a good thorough walk through of deploying a simple system (oracle pdk java portlet) like I have developed to the App. Server it would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks a lot.

    Basically I started to develop this system inside Oracle AS and then when it came time to passing a request to a new page, it crapped out on me on the App. Server. So instead of trying to fix the problem there and then I continued to develop outside Portal and inside Jdeveloper. After a week or two once all my stuff worked perfectly I try and take it back into Portal but only the first JSP of all my Portlets would show up, because as soon as I would submit a form and the action directed me to a new page and Portal would be lost/confused. Obviously I shouldn't have done it that way but none the less...
    So now I'm reading through the documentation you pointed me towards and it seems I have to qualify my parameters and then "attach" them to the url which the form will pass to the actioned page. I'm importing numerous classes (...urlUtils, etc) in order to qualify the parameters and then build this url without affecting any parameters currently present that my portlet does not own.
    What I'm rambling towards here is all this separation of logic and presentation and the whole nine, implies different people can develop different parts of a 'system' mostly independant of one another...so in my situation I shouldn't in huge trouble yet, since underlying everything is a working system. My issue is with oracle and the App Server. If I take my code which works great outside of the App. Server and I fully qualify parameters and make sure my form actions are constructed using the UrlUtils in order to fully qualify them as well, and then I make sure page parameters are mapped to the proper portlet parameter values....should my system work on the App Server (assuming everything is done properly)....or am I still missing something.

  • Problems deploying app using OpenJPA 2.0.0 to WebLogic 10.3.3

    I have an app that has been using OpenJPA 1.2.2. It runs fine on both WebLogic 10.3.2 and 10.3.3. I recently tried to upgrade it to OpenJPA 2.0.0. I have no trouble with the build and unit tests, but it fails at deployment.
    I've always had a "prefer-application-packages" spec for "org.apache.openjpa.*".
    After replacing the "openjpa-1.2.2.jar" with "openjpa-all-2.0.0.jar", deployment fails with the following:
    NoSuchMethodError: javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceUnitInfo.getValidationMode()Ljavax/persistence/ValidationMode;.
    The "getValidationMode()" method wasn't present in the JPA 1.0 specification, and was added in 2.0.
    After I then added "javax.persistence.*" and "javax.persistence.spi.*" to the "prefer" specs (I imagine the second is redundant), I now get this:
    ClassCastException: org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl cannot be cast to javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider
    I also tried only "preferring" "javax.persistence.spi.*", but that didn't change the result.
    Is there some way to get WebLogic to not use it's Kodo implementation at all? This seems to be the crux of this problem.

    There might be some useful information on the EclipseLink site, where they show various means of modifying the JPA version used by WebLogic Server.
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Development/JPA_2.0/weblogic
    Different JPA vendor, but the situation you are facing is similar.

  • Deploy Jdeveloper 11.1.2 ADF Application on weblogic 10.3.5 ???

    I don't want to install ADR on my weblogic. how to create ear file having all the required adf jar and war files in it?
    what is recommended installing ADR on production weblogic server or having ear file containing required war and jar files and why?

    Then how would we deploy jdeveloper 11.1.2 application on jBoss?You wouldn't, at least if you want a supported configuration. Right now, WLS and IBM WebSphere are the only ones supported, and yes, you do install the ADR on WebSphere. If you want to try to get it working on JBoss, you can fuss around with JAR files in the classpath, but it's not going to be supported.

    This behavior might be attributed to Axis inclusion.
    Web service actions and wizards supported by Weblogic can be found at:
    File->New->Other->Oracle->WebLogic->Web Services
    Can you provide more detail about your starting point wsdl? or JWS? and information around what generation actions you used?
    Thanks

    shared library "adf.oracle.domain" could not be found.
    Can any one tell me, what the problem is?
    Thanking you,

  • Problems with navigation when deploy application on WebLogic 10.3

    Hi! I have problems with navigation when I deploy my application on Weblogic server 10.3. In my application I have two pages. One page where I can see the records. In this page I have button Create with action to secound jspx page. When I press this button then the first form (where I could see all records) is empty - the create operation worked, but navigation to second page not. Navigation rules is in adf task flow. In default server all works correct. Where is the problem?
    Maybe when I deploy my application I need specialy deploy adf task flow or somewhere write something? If so, then can you explain me where? Any suggestions what to do.
    Best regards!

  • Problem deploying a web application (war)

    Hello,
    I am having a problem deploying a web application in Tomcat.
    Here is what happens:
    -I copied the war file into the webapps directory.
    -I started Tomcat.
    -Tomcat automatically expanded the war file into a directory of the same name.
    The problem is that I get the following error: "The requested resource (/jadmin) is not available." when I try to access my web application
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Balteo.

    Hi,
    check the Tomcat log file <tomcat_dir>/logs/localhost_log.yyyy-mm-dd.txt and see if there is an error corresponding to the deployement of the (/jadmin) context.

    I have logged in the weblogic console and clicked on the deployment option, i got the page of install the application, then i have click the install option, i was getting the page of blank white screen. checking the log file of the admin server i cannot find any error. The admin server was running state was ok. before many times i have done deploying application in the same weblogic admin console.
    My weblogic 10.3 was running in windows 2008 r2
    Kindly need a help to resolve this problem ASAP.
    Regards,
    Rakhi

    Hi sir,
    thanks for ur reply.. but while troubleshooting on this issue i am facing another problem,
    The weblogic server is running on windows os box, i have stop the weblogic admin server from the windows services and again started the weblogic admin server, the server was running in proper state and i have open the console and try the same thing clicking on the deployment and install options but the same issue i faced. getting the white blank screen, while trying to refresh the page i cannot get the weblogic console waiting for long time also. again after restarting the server i can get the weblogic console.
    Then i have tried in another way, i removed the window services and started the weblogic server from command prompt,after starting the server i have opened the admin console and click on the deployment and install option, it is working fine. i tried the same for many times its working fine. but while starting from windows services the problem i was facing same as blank white screen,
    Kindly give me a perfect resolution on this issue. because i was so confused on this part.
    Regards,
    Rakhi..

  • Problem deploying application - ERROR: No j2ee modules detected

    Hi
    I am new to jDeveloper, and I have created a stateless session EJB, and a JSF page with one ADF component on. When I try to deploy my application to Weblogic, I get this error:
    ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted
    Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
    Thank you
    Søren

    Hi, I had this same problem. The whole purpose of a EAR is containing a J2EE app. It's divided on a Web Components Archive (WAR) and a JAR with the Enterprise App. I found this document useful and the app could be deployed successfully to an EAR. Remember to include all you extra libraries as another file Group of the "Libraries Type". Basically you owuld have to separatelly create the WAR deployment descriptor, the EJB JAR deployment descriptor and after that create the EAR based on one or two of them.

    This document is intended for Jdev10g and OracleAS 10, but the procedure is almost the same for both versions.

  • Problem deploying an ADF Application - SOLVED

    I am having a problem deploying an ADF Faces + BC4J application to my 10.1.3.1 App server. When I deploy to the Jdev embedded oc4j or to a standalone oc4j from Jdeveloper, everything works fine, but when I deploy to the app server, the first page submit gives me an error "Error setting property 'actionEvent' in bean of type null"
    I can deploy and run a simple ADF Faces BC4J test page, but my real app fails.
    Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
    I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.2, oc4j 10.1.3.1 and app server 10.1.3.1, all with the latest adf runtime.

    Frank,
    some further information. My app has a login page, which is what gave me the error about an actionEvent. If I bypass the login page and go straight to the app I can open a jspx with adf components in it, but as soon as a submit the page (button clicks etc) I get the 'bean of type null' error. This time I can capture the stack though:

  • Problem deploying web application on WLS 8.1

    Hi,
    When I try to deploy a web application on weblogic 8.1 it comes back with success.But
    trying to access it or testing it through admin console gives me the following
    erors -
    403 - Forbidden or
    404 - Not found
    Here is what I am doing
    My web application is in a war file called paypluscls.war that I've saved inD:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications
    folder. My weblogic.xml reads like this:
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
    <local-path>d:/bea/user_projects/domains/m
    <url-pattern>/paypluscls/*</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>
    On deploying the application I get success message, but when I try running it
    using the following in my browser : http://127.0.0.1:7001/paypluscls i get 403
    forbidden error
    and if I try http://127.0.0.1:7001/paypluscls/index.htm , i get 404 file not found
    error. Please note that index.htm is present in my paypluscls.war.
    What am I doing wrong? A quick response will be highly appreciated.

    Define a context-root element in weblogic.xml
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <context-root>paypluscls</context-root>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    Get index.htm with url:
    http://127.0.0.1:7001/paypluscls/index.htm

  • Unable to deploy ADF application to weblogic server

    Hi,
    We are developing ADF application using jDeveloper 11.1.1.1 and deploying to Weblogic Server 10.3.1. The application is working without any problems on 10.3.1 wblogic platform.
    We procured new 64 bit hardware and installed weblogic 10.3.2 and jdeveloper 11.1.1.2 on windows platform. When we are deploying the application developed using jdeveloper 11.1.1.1 on the new platform we are getting the following exception.
    An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
    [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, Implementation-Version: 11.1.1.1.0, exact-match: false], [Extension-Name: oracle.jsp.next, exact-match: false].
    Can you please provide some suggestions to debug the problem.

    Hi,
    I have tried deploying the application using jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0, But this time I am getting the following error after commenting the following lines in weblogic-application.xml. I have removed the following lines as I am getting classnot found exception for oracle.adf.share.weblogic.listeners.ADFApplicationLifecycleListener and oracle.mds.lcm.weblogic.WLLifecycleListener.
    If I deployed the application on the admin server, The application is working with out any problems. I am having problems only on Managed Server at the time of deployment.
