Problems installing essbase - skipping incompatable libiau.so

I am currently working on installing essbase on a Dell 2950 running RHEL 5.5
Currently the installation is failing with the following errors:

the files libiau.so and libiau.a are present in the above mentioned directory
looking at the ld errors, do I need to have glibc-static installed on this machine?

the files libiau.so and libiau.a are present in the above mentioned directory

I'm confused with what is out there and what's linked...
$ ls -l /oracle/10g/lib/libnjni10

But /oracle/10g/lib/libnjni10 doesn't exist as such - is this ok ?

10.6.8 update combined - problems installing

Hi all,
Currently having huge problems installing this update on my mac, have been trying for a couple of days now to get this machine back up and running again after I was told by the genius bar 2 years ago that after them spending nearly 900 pounds on new parts, that they "had no idea what the problem was, but could be something to do with the logic board". I finally decided to sell it, but as a parts and repair it will get £100 and fully working it could get a bit more, so it's in my interest to get it up and running again.
I am by no means a computer expert, but I know a few things and can normally sort problems out by just simply using search, but alas I have finally been beaten, and have come here to ask for some assistance.
After re-installing my macbook pro 3,1 (mid 2007) with it's original 10.4 tiger software probably 5 times before it worked, then moving on to 10.6 snow leopard which also took a couple of attempts, I am now completely stuck with no way to get this machine up to 10.6.8, so that I can make the jump to mountain lion. The software update program is either an absolute heap of dung, or my computer just won't have any of it. I have tried multiple solutions which I will list below:
Using software update to install the 10.6.8 combined update - Failed
Downloading the 10.6.8 combined update from apple support downloads - Failed
Deleting the library/preferencecom.apple.softwareupdate etc. files - Still software update Failed
Downloading 10.6.1 update and installing - Success after a few attempts
Downloading 10.6.8 combined and trying again - Failed
Downloading 10.6.2 update and installing - Failed
Now this is where I am at. I have downloaded these files both on the macbook pro itself, and on my windows laptop - then transfering them across. I have never been more frustrated at a computer in my entire life, and am about 20 minutes away from throwing this laptop out of the window onto a poor bystander below. If anyone has any solution - (and don't say reformat and reinstall the OS - I've already tried that), then it would be greatly appreciated!
I'll post the console message from my last install of just the 10.6.8 combined upate (without using software update) and if someone on here who can make sense of these messages can see a problem or offer a solution, then that would also be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There really shouldn't be any problem downloading that combo update unless you've got a very slow or flaky connection. And Windows doesn't play as well with Mac files as the Mac does with Windows files; who knows what Windows might have done to the update's file integrity.
You might also try downloading the file using another browser such as Firefox. And when you have the updater, reboot into Safe Mode and then run the updater. That way you can be sure there isn't third party software somehow interfering with the update while it's tinkering with the guts of OS X.

I'm running Windows 7 32 bit on an ASUS netbook with 2mb ram. I installed both Air 3.7 and BBC iPlayer Desktop using Google Chrome. I downloaded 3 BBC programmes. Two ran fine but the third wouldn't start and I kept getting a message to try again later. I deleted this programme and downloaded it again, with the same result.
So I uninstalled both Air and the BBC iPlayer Desktop, the Air exe file and the two folders at the following locations:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\AIR\   and
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\BBCiPlayerDesktop.xxx
Since doing this each time I try to install Air either on its own or with the BBC iPlayer software I get the message part way through installation:
"Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I have run the Microsoft Fix it programme and still get the same result.
I have tried everything on your Trouble Shooting page apart from the bit about the elevated command prompt, but as I'm the sole user and administrator, that seems unnecessary.
I have closed Chrome and tried installation using Windows Explorer but with the same result.
I have tried all the above with Microsoft Security Essentials running and disabled. And I have tried the same with Astrill on and off.
I have had a response from the BBC with much the same advice as appears on your trouble shooting page.

Install Essbase 11.1.2.2 Client on Linux/Aix

I want to install Essbase 11.1.2.2 Client on Linux Redhat6_64/Aix7, I found a same problem on both of the platforms.
Take Linux for example, I cannot found Essbase Client when I install it.
The file I download is like this:

1. Is Essbase 11.1.2.2 Client do not officially support installed alone on Linux/Unix platform?
2. In the support file "How to Install the Essbase Client Tools MaxL and ESSCMD on a Planning Server Installed on Unix Server", I found that the Essbase server must be installed on a Linux platform first, if I install it on a Windows platform, there will be no such files:
startMaxl.sh
startEsscmd.sh
setEssbaseEnv.sh
so I cannot copy these to my created directory. So is that mean, if I want to install Essbase 11.1.2.2 client on a Linux Red hat6.0/Aix7.1, I must Firstly installed Essbase Server on another no-windows OS to get the above files?

Problem starting Essbase 11.1.2.1

Hi. I have the next problem.
When I tried start Essbase, opmn have an error. In log file I see this:
ESSBASE / Error (1320022)
Attempt to find an Agent instance corresponding to arborpath [u01/app/hyperion/user_projects/epmsystem2/EssbaseServer/essbaseserver1] failed.
Looking essbase logs, I found this:

I installed Essbase under Sun Solaris 10. "hostname" command returns right hostname.

Chinese Character Problem in Essbase Integration Service & Oracle9i

I installed oracle9i on windows2000,which character set is SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.zhs16cgb231280. And I installed Essbase Integration Service 6.5.4 on HP-UNIX server. I designed an OLAP Model in Integration Services Console and I defined some dimensions name using chinese characters. When I saved the model, the chinese characters I inputed is saved as some question marks(?) in the tables in oracle 9i. After I loaded the dimension data which include the chinese charaters, the dimension data which is chinese characters also displayed question marks in the EIS console. I have added the variable NLS_LANG="SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.zhs16cgb231280" in the .profile, but it did not work either. How can I solve this problem? Can I do any configuration on EIS files to solve this problem? Would you please help me? Thank you very much!

Error 404--Not Found - After Installing Essbase 11.1.2.2

I have experienced error.
I have one box of EPM 11.1.2.2, using Windows 2008. After installing Foundation and configuring it, there's no problem at all. I can open workspace and interop as well.
However I added Essbase, installing and configuring it. But after installing Essbase, I managed to turn on Hyperion Shared Service again, it didn't work.
The error says:
Error 404--Not Found

The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
What I have done is reconfiguring Shared Service, Essbase also. But no luck at all.
Does anybody have the clue, please advise. Thanks.

Installing Essbase 11.1.2.1 EPM System Configurator

Hi,
I'm installing Essbase on a windows 2008 R2 server.
After doing the installation following the guide "Rapid deployment of Essbase domain for development environments" and this step by step, i got stuck (some days already) on the setup Shared services and Registry database Connection
After filling the 3 params SID, User name and Password, I receive the ERROR
IO ERROR: The network Adapter could not establish the connection.
I read here that installing and configuring the LOOPBACK Adapter will resolve the problem, It did not for me.
Can one of you help me out here?

Is Oracle on the same machine, if it is not can you definitely connect to it from the machines where you are configuring from.
Are the connection details you entering definitely correct.

Problems installing iLife09

Hi
I am having problems installing iLife09. When I click install, there is an error message that says :
*Install Failed*
*Unable to Install.*
*The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install.*
Can someone please advise how I can resolve this?

Yes mine is an iLife09 version. What I meant was I was upgrading to 09 version. I had it exchanged and now is worse. The installation failed halfway through.
When I start up my "iPhoto09" it hanged. I have tried to installed the older version using the Mac OS install discs but somehow iPhoto08 has been skipped and I can't re-install it.
What do I need to do now ? Do I have to delete the "iPhoto09" application and re-install the older version ? What is most important to me are the photos and whatever I do, I do not want to lose these.
Appreciate your advise.

Problem installing software on new imac

I am using a new imac and i tried to instal the software. It seemed to work with disk 1. I skipped verifying the disk though. Disk # 2 i will try to install. It will look like its finishing but then it will say problem instaling software. Please try again. I have tried it 2 times already. PLEASE HELP!!!

You are simply trying to install Mac OS 9.2 from disc 2, correct?
What happens when you insert the disc?
Does it mount on the desktop?
Do you receive any errors?
Are you able to double click the install classic icon?

So you were trying to reinstall the system software from disc 1?
Was this an upgrade of the software or a reinstall of what came with your computer?

Installing Essbase

Hello:
I have 11g loaded on my laptop which I downloaded from OTN. I'm in need to learn Essbase. I have a few questions in trying to install Essbase.
First, can I install Essbase with 11g or do I have to use an earlier version?
Second, can I install only Essbase or do I have to install any of the other Business Intelligence products such as Business Intelligence EE or Hyperion Performance Management and BI, etc?

Basically download the Installer, the four Foundation Files, Essbase Server, Essbase Client and I believe that's the whole set of downloads you need -- it's about 6 GB total I believe. I understand you can get by without having Shared Services installed presuming you only want to install Essbase and not Planning or HFM -- pretty sure Tim's instructions are without Shared Services.
Regarding 11g -- see the compatibilty matrices at:

The 11.1.1.1 matrix states: "Oracle Database, all releases and interim releases between 9.2.0.5 and 11g (11.1.0.6.0) are supported."
You will want to read the Essbase DBAG (Database Admin Guide) as well as the Technical Referecence at:

Installing Essbase OLAP release 6.5

Hi! Is anyone having any problems installing the 6.5 release from the Hyperion Download Center? We have attempted the upgrade to 6.5 and run into a "An error occurred during the move data process:-115" error code. According to Hyperion, this error code relates to a bad cd. Since we are not installing from cd, we are stuck. Any suggestions, work-arounds???? Thanks for any input.

Was Essbase or an application using the Essbase API running at the time you tried to install? Make sure you exit all applications and shut down any services that may be Essbase related and try again. Make sure you have appropriate filesystem permissions as well.-115"Specified file cannot be opened as write.""An attempt was made to overwrite a locked file belonging to a file group that does not have the Potentially Locked or Shared property set to Yes or the path to the target folder is invalid."

CTC problem installing PI system

I am having a problem installing my PI system.
I am attempting to run step "PI_00 Execute post install steps" of the
CTC.
I see in the error log that I have the incorrect settings entered for
this step.
How can I enter the correct parameters and re-run this step?
I am unable to change the settings in order to re-run the step.
I only have the option to re-try, resume, or skip.

Problem Installing P6 v7 Standalone on Windows 7 64 bit

I am having serious problems installing P6v7 on Windows 7 64 bit, as a Standalone.
I've installed the Oracle database, version 10g, with no problems
When I come to install the P6 software as a standalone installation on a laptop it keeps trying to link to the SQL database - as opposed to Oracle for Standalone - and I end up stuck with it asking for a password to the SQL database {the username is already locked as "sa"}, no standard passwords get me through.
According to my supplier this has happened a few times to others and they are "working on a fix"
Any advice would be most welcome.
