Problems with Associations between entities (jdev903production)

Hi,
every now and then, I feel a strong urge to pick up my pc and throw it out the window, when I'm working in jdeveloper.
But usually just in time I realise the power that bc4j still has, and the fact that people walking under my window might not be too pleased with my pc landing on their head convinces me to just count to 10, and just retry what I was trying to do.
I will explain the problems below:
1. Wrongly numbered and magically renumbered members
I have an entity with about 13 attributes. The underlying schema object is a view (simple view
on a table, nothing fancy).
I have a few associations between this entity and several other entities, one of which is an association with itself (parent/child relation). Some of these associations have accessors, and the parent/child association has accessors both ways (getParent() and getChildren()).
When I compile, I get an error like this:
Error(399,12): duplicate case label.
This problem occurs because near the top of the file, the attributes have been defined as follows:
protected static final int ASSET = 0;
protected static final int PARENT = 1;
protected static final int PRICELINES = 2;
protected static final int CHILDREN = 3;
protected static final int ID = 0;
protected static final int CODE = 1;
protected static final int ENDDATE = 2;
protected static final int STARTDATE = 3;
protected static final int TYPE = 4;
The first 4 are from the association accessors, the rest (starting with ID) are attributes. Why do these get the same numbers?
I edited the first 4 lines and gave them increasing numbers that didn't conflict with any of the attributes. But each time I edit one of the associations, all of these lines get renumbered again and start counting at 0! (even if I move the lines down so they are in the correct order).
So even if I just edit the parent/child association, even the PRICELINES (which is an accessor NOT from the association I'm editing) thing gets renumbered wrongly.
Why?!
2. Internal XML parser error
Every now and then, after playing around with associations and viewlinks, I suddenly get an error message like this:
"Expected Name instead of '<'."
from the XML parser, when I try to open a ViewObject from the navigator. The XML files look fine, but even a restart of jdeveloper doesn't help. In this case I usually delete my files, get the last known working versions from CVS and redo what I did before it went wrong. Because of the randomness (though quite frequent) of this problem, I can't provide you with good 'steps to reproduce' yet, but do you have any clue as to what might cause this? It's quite a nuisance.
Greetings,
Ivo

[*]Wrongly numbered and magically renumbered members
We just found and fixed a problem for 9.0.4 yesterday where in some cases
the constants for the accessors got inadvertently renumbered.
I hope it's the same issue you're hitting, but I cannot
be 100% sure unless you could send me a testcase project
for me to try and reproduce with 9.0.3 and with the
fixed 9.0.4 release.
[*]Internal XML parser error
An error like "Expected Name instead of '<'." can mean some kind of corruption in the XML file. When you say they "look" fine, are you able to verify by trying to parse them externally to make sure it's not some subtle error your eye is not seeing?
If you can give me a testcase project and tell me what steps to try and repeat, I can have our QA team try and exercise your steps to hopefully reproduce the problem.
[*]View Accessors are not being created
You mentioned a source control system in the mix. Is there any possibility that the YourViewImpl.java file is read-only on the file system? This would cause BC4J to not be able to write the accessor into the file.
[*]Magically disappearing ViewLink source/destination attributes
Obviously, this is not intentional. I'll ask the developer to see if
there's anything obvious that could be the cause of this
"short-circuit" of correct functionality.
[*]Dependencies not checked correctly when using entitylevel inheritance
"(no inheritance is possible on the view level)"
The above statement confused me. We do support View objects extending
other view objects, however I was able to reproduce the problem
and I filed Bug#2678090 to get it fixed.
[*]EVERY question/problem on the forum needs to be analyzed by a team member with 1 exclusive question: [How] Could have better documentation / help file elimenated this problem?
Excellent point. And we are doing this!
[*]Don't get me wrong; if this weren't a super product; I would not be here.
Neither would we. ;->
Let's identify every remaining technical issue for you, ideally get a testcase to reproduce the problem, and then we'll fix it.
[*]And truly; thank you for taking this time with us. Not every company affords so many resources with their customers; let alone free downloads.
We believe it's a great 21st-century way to be in direct contact with our customers. The feedback we get here is awesome for the product!
[*](Hey! I Want to pay. Help me finish and sell my app!)
We want you help you finish faster, too. Keep the questions and issues coming and we're doing our best to address them.

    HI All,
    I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN . the WLC are providing the HQ and one of the Branches the Wireless services .
    Am using all the available 9 SSIDs at the HQ , and am using only 4 of it at the Brnche.
    The problem that i have are happening only at the Branch office as i cant room between the SSIDs within Diferent VLANs but i can do it with the one that pointing to the same VLAN. Once the client ( Laptop/Phone ) connected to one of the SSIDs. it imposiible to have him connected to the other ones with Different VLAN. meanwhile, It says its connected to the other SSID but its not getting IP from that pool.
    here is the Show Run-Config from my WLC .. and the Problem happening between the SSID AMOBILE and ASTAFF. i have the Debug while am switching between the SSIDs if needed .

    Well you need to understand the behavior of h-reap or what it's called now, FlexConnect. In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
    Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
    There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

    my host name changes every few days, since Xmas adding a macbook its changed 6 times. Do I need to stop this? Does it cause problems with sharing between the iMac and macbook?

    There are several possible causes for this problem.
    1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local".
    2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
    3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is due to a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
    4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
    5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.
    6. See also this support article.
    Rename the computer in the Sharing preference pane.

    I have a Jawbone bluetooth headpiece. Recently I have had problems with intermittent connectivity with my iPhone 4S. The Jawbone is searching for the phone but sometimes it doesn't connect and when it does it will lose the connection after a few seconds. This is a serious problem since I use it when I'm travelling on business. I have installed the latest software updates in both devices, unpaired and repared and also reset the Jawbone. Any ideas?

  • Problem with transition between tracks of imported mp3 compilation

    We publish audio travel guides. I just received 17 mp3 files from our sound engineer and imported them into iTunes and set them as a compilation. I then manually moved them to my G4 iPod.
    There is a problem with the end of track 1 and the beginning of track 2.
    When we played back from the iPod, about 6 seconds before the end of track 1, it skipped fwd to the start of track 2.
    When I played from iTunes (Windows Vista), track 1 was fine, but track 2 started about 4 seconds in.
    I set track to to start playing at 0:00 and it still skipped.
    argh!

    To fully test this, burn to a disk. The length of such pauses varies.
    Also, consider ceating the "transition" as a motion menu with a loop point.

  • Problem with Associations

    I'm trying to build a simple prototype of our application using JDeveloper (9.0.3.10.35). I've started by building a set of entities to represent our core business. I'm trying to use the automagic BC4J application wizards to create a simplistic prototype.
    I've gone through this process a couple of times with increasing complexity. However in the latest iteration, I've run into a problem. For one of my entity objects, any associations I create for it behave strangely. Anytime I add them to a UML diagram everything seems fine. I can manipulate everything fine. Save the diagram. Close it. Reopen it. Everything is fine. I exit JDev and restart it. Whenever I open a UML diagram with one of these associations, I get an error message and a dialog asking me to find a *.bas file.
    After some nosing around in the XML, I discovered that these associations are missing a section in their name.xml file in the src tree.
    The basic structure of my other association files is below. However, these problematic ones lack the <data> sections. Does anyone know where/how this <data> section is generated?

  • Problems with copying between Adobe Illustrator and keynote

    I have recently switched from Tiger to Snow Leopard. A lot of my keynote presentations have started acting up since. Many images that I copied from Adobe Illustrator (CS3) are reported as "missing" when I open the presentations. Also, some Adobe illustrator arrangements give keynote problems when I copy them into a presentation now. The problem here is that I can copy them into keynote but then I cannot duplicate them or copy-paste them again. If I save a presentation containing such images and try to open it after closing it, the same problem about "missing" images becomes apparent.
    In comparing with other computers used by my colleagues I have established that this does not have anything to do with my computer. It turns out, any machine running Snow Leopard has these problems but any machine running Tiger or Leopard does not. The problem is present in both keynote 4.0.4 and 5.0.4.
    In trying to narrow down the problem I found out the following. The problem is text box based. If I copy a text field (or an arrangement containing one of these) from illustrator into keynote and if that text field contains more than one line, and if that line break is mediated by the "shift-return" key combination, the problems I mentioned show up.
    Does anyone have the same problems/know a solution? It is quite a major flaw for me, it essentially means I can dump all my old keynote presentations.
    Cheers

    Welcome to the discussions, thetwelfthman.
    In copying these from Illustrator to Keynote, I'm assuming that they are pasting into Keynote as a PDF? Also, is there any difference between printing to a PDF then dragging that in and just copying/pasting into Keynote?

  • Problem with spaces between objects

    Hi, this is a basic yet perplexing issue for me. I created a
    table 3 rows, 3 columns, and inserted images into different cells.
    In DW, it looks like the images are right next together, but when I
    preview in IE or Firefox, you can see a space in between the

    but I can't get the images to appear side by side without a gap

  • Still problem with SQL Between... Help me GURUS!

    I've already posted this, but I will try to put it more simple:
    Imagine these Tables:
    Absentee Table
    ID_TRABALHADORES (Number PK) (Trabalhadores=Worker in english)
    DAT_INI_AUS (Date) - Initial date of absence
    DAT_FIM_AUS (Date) - End of Absence
    Justification Table
    ID_TRABALHADORES (Number PK)
    DAT_INI_JST (Date)
    DAT_FIM_JST (Date)
    Now imagine that an user (Thru a Oracle Form) inputs one absence from 2005/12/13 to 2005/12/29.
    Now the user must input the specified Justification for that absence. Suppose there's 2 Justifications for one SINGLE Absence.
    From 2005/12/13 to 2005/12/20 as justified as ilness and from 2005/12/21 to 2005/12/29 as Death of a relative.
    If I want to find out if someone forgot to fill in a justification, or if it's wrong justified (wrong dates, etc...), how can I work the SQL with Between? It doesn't work if an user puts 1 Absence to 2 Justifications, because it reports it as being an error, but it's not, because the period is correct. It works fine if an user puts the example above like this:
    Absentee Form:
    2005/12/13 to 2005/12/20 (Ilness)
    2005/12/21 to 2005/12/29 (Death of relative)
    Justific Form:
    2005/12/13 to 2005/12/20 - Ilness
    2005/12/21 to 2005/12/29 - Death of relative
    With this I don't catch it because it's not an error and the date periods are correct, but using this way:
    Absentee Form:
    2005/12/13 to 2005/12/29 (Ilness and Death of relative)
    Justific Form:
    2005/12/13 to 2005/12/20 - Ilness
    2005/12/21 to 2005/12/29 - Death of relative
    1 Absence to 2 Justific I catch it as error, but the period is also correct...
    There's any SQL script that can turn around this problem?
    PS- I don't want to use any sort of code in FORMS or PL/SQL

    If I understand the question correctly, you are trying to find out if the justification data matches the absence data or not. Also, if the user puts in two absences then there should be two justifications, right?
    Also, the date range of absence should match date range of justification.
    The two tables are linked by ID_TRABALHADORES column.
    One approach could be:
    Figure out if the number of absence records and justification records match or not:
    select ID_TRABALHADORES , count(*) from Absentee
    group by ID_TRABALHADORES
    MINUS
    select ID_TRABALHADORES , count(*) from justification
    group by ID_TRABALHADORES
    This will give a list of all those IDs where :
    1. There are more records in Absentee but fewer justifications, e.g. 2 date ranges but a single justification
    2. User forgot to enter a justification
    Now let's take it further ... I understand that you want to catch cases where the dates do not match for the IDs identified above.
    select id, min(dat_ini_aus), max(dat_fim_aus) from absentee group by id
    minus
    select id, min(dat_ini_aus), max(dat_fim_aus) from justification group by id
    If the date ranges match then the query above will eliminate further records as the date range identified by min/max would match.
    Anything that does not match could be due to missing records, bad dates etc.
    I think it will help if we can see more data samples and some more explanation of the problem you are trying to solve. A BETWEEN clause may not be needed here.

  • Problems with QoS between 2950 and 3550 with use of Native VLAN

    Hi!
    I try to set up QoS between a C2950 and a C3550, I have provided a drawing that might help understanding the setup.
    As I understand it, since I only have the SMI image on the C2950 I have to run a 802.1Q trunk over the leased 2Mb line to get QoS to work. And I DO get it to work, or at least it seems so to me.
    What I'm trying to setup QoS on is between a Nortel Succession Media Server and a Nortel i2004 IP Phone.
    And when I sniff the port that the Succession Media Server is connected to, I get this output:
    *BEGIN*

    But, then to the problem:
    Since the modems I use have ip adresses in them I want to monitor them and be able to change settings in them.
    But to connect to units within the trunk, I have to set the native vlan to VLAN 144, which provides the ip adresses I use for the modems, in both ends of the trunk.
    But if I do that the tagging of the packets from the IP Phone disappears!
    Here's an output after native VLAN is applied:

    See, there is noe QoS tagging from the IP Phone anymore.
    If I set no switchport trunk native vlan 144 in both ends the tagging is back.
    Any ideas? Is this a bug, or just some command I don't know about?
    Please take a look at the picture to get a more understandable view of the setup.
    Thanks!

    Well, native VLANs are by definition untagged so there´s nothing wrong with that as far as you are getting the expected results. By the other way I think you should include VLAN 402 on your allowed vlan range on Catalyst 3550's FastEth0/45 trunk port, otherwise this VLAN will be completly isolated from the rest of the network.

  • I need to migrate data from Lion to OSX do you know of any problems with content between the two systems?

    I'm using a MacBook AIR and OSX 10.9.1. When I upgraded that I made a mistake with the user name and so created another user. Now I understand I need to migrate the data between the two systems but that there might be trouble with some of the content files transferring across? Has anyone done this before? If so what were the pitfalls? Thanks and Help! No-one typing this feels as if they're on a steep learning curve at all!

    I have memory cleaning scheduled to run every 1 hour.
    First advise is to disable Memory Cleaner ! you don't need that , It can cause freezing and clocking. To disable it , From your homescreen go to Options > Security > Advance Security setting > Memory Cleaner > Disable that feature .After disabling it reboot your device do it by removing the Battery while your device is Powered On then wait for at least a minute then reinsert it back, your device may take a long reboot .
    Then monitor your device for the next few hrs. and check if you feel the same problem .
