Oracle EBS 11i - Cloning failing while running 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier
Hi DBAs/Experts
I am trying to clone the Oracle 11i (11.5.10.2 with RUP6) all single node on RHEL 4.6. I was following the metalink note 230672.1.
I ran adpreclone scripts successfully on the dbTier and appsTier. Shutdown the Apps & DB. Moved over the file system (whole /u01) which include all the homes ,tops and datafiles from source to target.
While running 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier' , I am getting following errors. I didn't check any pre-requisite patches for Rapid Clone as the EBS was already up-todate with RUP6. (How can I verify if the system is on RUP6 in case I have to double check it).

The first suspicion I thought of was that I'm running out of disk space to clone another instance. But I've checked and there's still enough space, even in the /tmp directory. The second I thought of is does setting ownership and the os permissions have something to do with this?

Thank you.error for dbTier cloning is solved. I didn't log in as the database user and didn't change permissions for the node files after copying. Cloning for db tier is completed.

Perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier fails on control file creation

R12.1.1
I have a temp file that had been removed at the OS level.. on the source And I want to updated the control file regarding this so that it does not record this file any more.
I am using rapid clone (EBS) to cone this source database unto the target but is failing on the target control file creation as it's trying to find the temp file that had been removed at the source. OS level.
So I will like to update the control file on the source so that it does not reflect this dropped temp file any longer and then do the clone again.
So What's the best way to achieve this or please point me to a metalink note:

I had tried modifying the the file adcrdbclone.sql in which is caled by <RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/template/addbtmpl.drv by removing the temp file that does not exist .
and then ran perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier again but still failed on the control file creation.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I found that the issed was that there is a datafile that was dropped at the source at the OS level ... ( A mistake by one of support staff).
So How can I modify the control file creation at the target not to reference the data file that does not exist. I have tried removing it as stated in my previore post but it stall fails at the control file creation

I couldn't understand a few points.
I would appreciate if someone can guide me regarding the following queries.
There is a statement in the doc
1)An important principle in Oracle Applications cloning is that the system is cloned, rather than the topology ....
--What is meant by topology in this description?
2)The Cloning methodology posted on this document requires full Autoconfig complience.
--didn't get this point.
3)Note: In the copying tasks below, UNIX/Linux users should ensure that the symbolic links (soft links) are preserved when copying. On most UNIX platforms, this can be accomplished with the cp -RH command. Consult the UNIX man page for the cp command to check the parameters available on your platform.
--what soft links are being talked about?will the regular cp -R command not preserve the soft links?
4)For patching AutoConfig on the E-Business Suite R12 instance, AutoConfig needs to be enabled on both the applications tier and the database tier. (387859.1)
--HOw do I check if AutoConfig is enabled or not?
5)Why do I need to synchronize appsutil on database tier from application tier?
6)Why do we need to maintaain snapshot information?

Also I am getting same kind of errors for patches 8919489,9171651,9833058 and 12404574.
Although there were neither failures nor any ORA- error in any of the log files.
Please guide what needs to be done regarding the shown errors for the patches.

What could have been wrong?

Cloning Non EBS Database with Rapid Clone.
Hi DBAs,
It might sound weird but I was curious that - Can you clone the regular oracle database (Non EBS) using rapid clone. Lets suppose if I copy over appsutil directory from a EBS database and manually edit the context file with current instance information. Also if I need to do some changes in shell/perl scripts of rapid clone etc.
Have any one done it in past by doing some magic and tricks or Is there automated script based cloning available for regular databases?

I believe it is not possible as Rapid Clone is an Oracle Apps utility, so Oracle does not support cloning non-Apps databases using Rapid Clone.
In addition, there is no context file or AutoConfig in such a database, which is required for Rapid Clone to work properly.
Is there automated script based cloning available for regular databases? For this cloning, you can use the manual method, export/import, or RMAN.

Hi, All of a sudden my clone stamp is acting strange.
I now have TWO " problems.
1st problem is that as i enlarge the clone stamp, enlarge the circle, less of it is visible ?
2nd problem, when i open a .jpg and position my mouse over an area i want to clone and click "ALT" and then move the mouse to the point i want to clone over, the "layer" moves with the mouse so i can never get to clone the area in question
The image in the bottom corner is moving around with my mouse ??? HelpOpen the Clone source panel, and uncheck Show overlay

Problem with stop( ) clone (again!!!)

after asking & searching in the forum, i know that in order to stop a ds (or a clone) the ds(or the cloneable) must be transmitted, played, processed etc. Now, i try to stop a clone , right after the cloneable starts being processed, but the clone does not stop. I think i did it at the right point, because when i tried stopping the cloneable at this same point, the video stopped. But when i do it for a clone, the clone doesn't seem to stop. I' am stuck in this thing for quite a long time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ThanksssIt's not a P2P application but however there many similarities with a P2P. This is what i want to do. 1st client request the video from the server, the server sends it to him. After ,lets say 10secs, a 2nd client request the video also from the server. So the 1st one is already receiving the video and the server informs him that he has to send it to the 2nd client (from the beggining). Unlike a P2P the clients don't save the video in a file but they only play it while receiving it. This is why i want to: clone the ds, pause the clone and then send it. I've partially already tried what you propose (save the ds to file and then send it) using DataSink.But as i want to transmit the video while is being received, saving using DataSink doesn't really help because the temporary file that works as a buffer is not streamable. So i can only send the video after it is finished/ received. If u still think that the way i do it is not going to work please tell me because the deadline approaches and i don't want to lose time trying sth that it won't work :) .
Sth else that i want to try is this: put the received stream in a buffer, clone or copy the buffer and use this buffer for creating a ds for transmission.
What do u think?

Problem with OracleParameter.Clone()
I've found a strange behaviour in ODP.
I've created a parameter collection where i've added all the parameters.
then i simply create a copy of the collection in the command object:
//adds all parameters that existed in collection of parameters

oCmd.Parameters.Add(oParam.Clone());

Everything worked ok until I create a parameter with:
CollectionType = OracleCollectionType.PLSQLAssociativeArray;
When i clone the object it looses this property value!!!
And i think it looses some more AssociativeArray properties that i've added to the parameter.
Is this a BUG in ODP.Net?

Am performing a clone of an 11.5.10.2 system running on Redhat linux 3.0.
When i run perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier,it errors out with the following error whenever it gets to 16%.

I read the solution on metalink and the solution i was given is to go to Note 307954.1 which tells me to "Modify the target's instconf.drv and remove the offending lines"

Problems with Clone Tool / Content Aware Scaling in CS4 Mac
I've been using PS for about 1 year and a half. Sort of an Advanced beginner. One of the things I love is the clone tool. Since I've upgraded to CS4 I've had nothing but problems with the Clone tool. When I go over an area it doesn't show anything and the either makes the adjustments after a long delay or it goes black and then comes back with the adjustment. Sometimes when I'm dragging the brush the whole picture goes away replaced by a smear of color noise. It really makes the tool unusable. In many cases I've gone back to CS3.
I also have similar problems with the content aware scaling. Never been able to get it to work. Basically some of the nicest new features of CS4 are worthless for me. Tried looking at Adobe solution and searching the forums but I haven't seen any exactly similar problems of solutions.
Any help appreciated. I have a white 24' Intel Mac with a 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Dual with 3GB RAM.

So, two new pieces of info. When I disable Open GL everything works fine. (Sorry about the TIFF, I just didn't catch it) So in essence this solves my problem.
Also PS CS4 works perfectly on my new Aluminum MacBook. So clearly it is an issue with the video board on my iMac.
This brings me to the wrap-up question. Should PS CS4 theoretically work with Open GL on my iMac or is it a know problem with CS4 and older graphics boards? I'm assuming my board supports Open GL.

If you're trying to search for anything on EBS look for Applications 11i, because most docs refer to it as Applications 11i more often then EBS.
