Problems with recognizing projector.

Hi all, I'm a spanish teacher at my local highschool and I have a projector that is availible to the students to use for powerpoint presentations and the such, but recently I upgraded from my older mac laptop, to a new mac-pro powerbook. the projector no longer recognizes the computer and vice versa, anyone have any similar experiences/fixes/help that they could offer me?
if so that would be wonderful.
thanks in advance,
Terri Salsman de Rodriegex

there is definitely a problem connecting to projectors. I have a 50% success rate when going into meetings with a foreign projector. Compared to my Powerbook which was much higher (100%). Not sure what the issue is... and yes, i've tried F7 (mirror) and changing the resolution, and other "sys pref" settings. even tried rebooting (if this had worked i would still say that it's broken, shouldn't have to reboot my machine to connect to a projector).
at this point it doesn't work most of the time, not sure where the prob is (video card, adapter, etc.) but there is def a problem.

  • Problems with recognizing files.

    Hello,
Because of the project's size I am working on I had to collect and move the whole project from my laptop to a desktop PC. The premiere 5.5 is the same as the one on my laptop. In this project i used files captured with both nikon d5200 and canon 550d. The problem is that the PC does not recognize the files captured with the d5200. It sees them like audio files. Do you think I have a problem with the codecs or what?
    Thank you:)

  • MacBook external display problem with Panasonic projector

MacBook (September 2006, Intel 945) with Boot Camp and XP Pro won't display externally from Boot Camp to a Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector using VGA (via the MiniDVI-to-VGA adapter/dongle). I tried 640x480x8-bit and 800x600x16-bit and 1024x768x16-bit. I tried unplugging and replugging the adapter. I tried shutting down and restarting into Win XP while all video cabling was connected. I tried pressing F7, Fn+F7, Shift+F7, FnShiftF7, as well as other key combinations involving F7. I tried checking the checkbox called "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." I installed Apple Software Update 2.1. None of these troubleshooting attempts worked. It works fine in OS X to the same projector (using the same VGA dongle). And, while Win XP starts in Boot Camp, the projector displays the Windows XP startup screen (black background and blue progress indicator), but after about a minute that disappears, I get a login dialog on the laptop screen, and the projector then displays only a blank blue screen.
Other displays: It works fine with Boot Camp to a Samsung SyncMaster 940T monitor using DVI (via the MiniDVI-to-DVI adapter/dongle). It works fine with Boot Camp to a Panasonic LC50 monitor using VGA (via the MiniDVI-to-VGA adapter/dongle).
We also have Panasonic PT-D5500 projectors, but I haven't tried them yet.
    1. Is this a problem in the Intel drivers supplied with Boot Camp?
    2. Are there settings on the projector that need to be set to make it work?
    3. I'm also now missing the Intel system tray icon that looks like a slanted computer screen -- how do I get it back?
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Based on the substantial research I've done regarding this issue, here's what the problem could be (without me knowing more):
If your working with an integrated graphics card (Intel 945?), chances are that it doesn't support the "resolution" of the projector - which is information embedded in to your other devices. Furthermore, the "refresh rate" is another piece of information usually "embedded" in to the device your connecting to, and the projector may not have either piece of information accessible to your card, or, vice versa.
Additionally, the drivers required by XP to make it all happen while using your particular video card, may not be installed. Basically, it could be a driver issue as well.
I wish I had a solution for you, however, everything I've read seems to conclude that XP within boot camp has little or no support for external displays (especially when talking about larger resolutions).
Humorously, when I addressed the "Mac Genius" at the Apple Store regarding this question, he told me to go buy a PC - so I did. Already have a Mac Pro, needed a laptop...

  • Problem with external projectors

    Hello
I'm a teacher using a Macbook pro late 2011 with newly installed Mavericks. Since the update all projectors in my school show a very weak picture of my documents. Signs in word, Power Point, Pdfs are not legible anymore. I tried all kinds of changes in monitors, but with no success.
    Has anyone any suggestions?
The problem is consistent. It's the same if I use a new projector or an old one (we have different in different classrooms).

    Addendum:
This problem shows only with my Macbook Pro Late 2011. Desperate I have just bought a 2013 Macbook Pro and with this machine the projection works perfectly. Both computers have OSX Mavericks (the older Macbook Pro with a clean install).
    Any ideas anybody?

  • Problem with multimedia projector

We have intermittent problems connecting with a Sanyo multimedia projector. I have tried switching mini-vga converter and it does not solve the problem. Does anyone know if this is a known compatability issue with ibooks and multimedia projection?

If the issues are related to 'supported' iBook resolutions verses those
the projector is supposed to run on, one of the means toward making
them work has included using a software utility named [ SwitchRes X ].
There may be some other issue behind problems you encounter in the
use of a projector and an iBook or other portable. Some projectors may
support a different video signal than the iBook can use. (I don't know.)

  • Problem with recognizing javax.mail.* class ?

    Hi Folks,
I am new to JavaMail usage on a standalone java program. I did write a java program to send a mail. The problem is it is not recognizing the javax.mail.* class, though i added on the classpath. I too added mail.jar file in the c:\program files\java\jdk1.5.0_16\lib and added the reference same to the classpath and still it is not recognizing. Do i miss something? help me out guys.

    Hi Shannon,
I hope the configuration i did is well. Yah am running the Java from the command line and i dont know why importing the package of javax.mail.* classes are not recognizing. I did unzipped the zip file and placed all the JAR files to lib folder of my installed JDK and referenced the JDK to classpath in environment variable also.

Likely the Sony projector has much lower resolution than the MBP's screen so I would expect the Sony to show less than the whole MBP screen. Drop the resolution on the MBP to 1024x768 and then hopefully the Sony can match that.

  • Problems with disconnection Projector

    Hey everyone,
I'm finding this extremely irritating.  Lately when I plug my mac into a projector using a rocket, it first blinks and adjust its screen which is fine, but when I go to disconnect my mac and pull out the projector cord the arrow icon (mouse) is really small and doesn't return to its normal state until I restart my computer.  The miniature arrow is really hard to use and it's annoying to have to restart every time.  Please help.
    Thanks Jan

Projector was a Macromedia app that has been discontinued. It was part of Director, but was replaced by a comibnation of other applications with the first Creative Suite.

  • Creative Zen 8GB Problem with Recognizing Mu

For some reason, whenever I go through the artists menu to select music, when I click on an artist, it shows with no tracks available even though when I go through the (ALL MUSIC TRACKS) option the song shows up. I tried rebuilding the memory and updating album info, but the tracks still aren't appearing. Anyone have any idea why this occurs?

Make sure that all your music tracks has ID3 tags. The player requires the ID3 tags to show up on the player.

  • Difficult graphics problem with Snow Leopard

We have been trying to solve this at work with no luck so I decided to try the experts on these forums as a last resort.
Our school has iMacs connected to lcd projectors in classrooms and we use them to project the iMac screen contents on a large screen in the rooms for instruction.
Everything worked fine with Leopard 10.5.7.
Over the summer, they upgraded all of the iMacs to Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and now the projected images are very dark.
They are useless for showing anything beyond text. Photos or video clips are so dark that the students can't see them clearly.
The IT people have tried all sorts of solutions and updated all of the graphics drivers that they can find for Snow Leopard and for the various graphic cards in the iMacs.
If I switch my iMac running 10.6.4 with another one still running 10.5.7, the projected images go back to looking correct, so it's not a problem with the projectors.
We have tried all sorts of settings and different profiles on the 10.6.4 iMacs and nothing has worked.
The images projected remain very dark and harsh in contrast, as does the entire desktop and dock icons that are also part of the projections.
Can anyone please offer some advice on what may be going on and any possible solutions?
We are not really able to revert all of the machines back to 10.5.X anymore.
Thanks a lot for any advice.

Can't solve your issue, but I suggest that you report this issue to Apple's engineering and send a bug report via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering. They might even suggest a solution.

  • Problem with Projector and Fullscreen

When I use getURL to launch a browser window, or make an exec
    call with
fscommand, the standalone projector jumps out of fullscreen.

I dont know really but i read here

they the getURL() function was removed from CS3 and the new is
URLRequest(); Try with this one i get it from the upper link

  • X1 connectivity problem with old VGA beam projector using mini displayport to VGA adaptor.

    Hi all,
I would like to ask you how to connect this X1 with VGA projector as well.
actually, X1 has a external interface specification as  mini displayport 1.1a.
So I bought mini displayport to VGA adapter from MAC store.
(Actually, Lenovo Korea office doesn’t sell this adapter directly on Korea, even in the future.)
and try to connect both of LED monitor and beam projector.
LED monitor was worked as well. but, this adaptor doesn't work with VGA projector. TT
Please help me how to work this adaptor with projector as well.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi everybody. I was having the same issue here, but I bought a Mac minidisplayport to VGA adapter. It worked on my Monitor but it was not working on my clients VGA beam projectors. But today I figured out a way to make it work, and it is pretty easy; just change your laptop screen resolution.
When you connect the mini Dport to VGA adapter to the projector VGA receiver cable, just change your laptop screen resolution to 1024x768 (maximum) and the projector will receive the signal with no problem.
This is the best solution that I found, because is easy to find a Mac/Apple Mini display Port to VGA adapter.
Hope this works for you too.
    Regards,
    J.

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.
