Problems with the battery in my Macbook

Question

Okay well, my battery used to be okay (it actually lasted more than 5 hours without me putting it to sleep) but lately it's gotten worse and worse, to where if I spend 50 minutes on it just typing up notes, it loses about 15-20% of it's battery power. I've tried re-calibrating it a few times and that just seems to have made it worse. It's now working at about 83% total battery power (I'm using coconut battery or whatever to measure it) and I'm not sure how to make it, well, last as long as it used to.

I can't copy it exactly since I don't know this account's PW and I only have it saved on this comp (my imac) but I can type it.
Also, it's having a problem it had before in that it's not going to sleep when I go to apple menu -> sleep. It takes either a few tries or it takes a little bit to go to sleep.
