Problems with updating Apps

When I open iTunes, the Apps icon shows the number 12 - the number of Apps that have updates available - but when I go to the app store and click the live copy in the lower right corner with the arrow saying '12 updates available' the next page says no current updates are available. Why is this not resetting?
In addition, after syncing either my iPhone 4 or my iPad, the Apps store on that device still indicates updates are available, even though I just completed a sync. Why do these devices not reset?

My problem is that I have multiple iTunes accounts. Why I have multiple iTunes accounts is another inadequacy of iTunes.
My iPhone is NOT a multi-user device. Why is it crippled by being tied to multiple iTunes accounts?
My iPhone is NOT a music player. Why is it crippled by being tied to a music application?
Why CAN'T iTunes MERGE multiple accounts? The ONLY reason I have multiple iTunes accounts is due to a confusing interface.
The entire iTunes-iPhone experience is VERY un-Apple like. The Apple experience suffers.

    I am not sure if this will help, I hope it can. I had a similar problem with the update and not being able to download any apps , i would click the button to download and it just went to back to the price or whatever. Anyways what I did was went to settings and turned on my restrictions and then turned them off, You do need to know your password that  you set it up with. But after that everything started working. I have IOS 7.0.2 as well. I hope this can and will help you. If not I just want to let you know I tried.

    Just wondering if there was any hope that this bug would be fixed... Specifically, you cannot change the AppleID associated with an app...so when you try and update an app (even a free one), you can't if it was purchased using a different apple id from your current apple id. I have 54 apps that cannot be updated!

    Since early July any updates to my Apps are not downloading (I am getting a perpetual Waiting message) and are freezing the particular App which then cannot be used.  I have uninstalled and tried to reinstall the Apps but the same problem occurs.  I am using an original Ipad with all updates installed.

    Try this; hold the Powerbutton and the Homebutton pressed at the same time until you see the Apple logo in your screen.

    "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled"
    the case is that my apple account seems to be OK and I haven't refunded or cancelled the apps.

    I came across this issue on my iPad and iPhone today. I did some research and it was suggested that you need to change your region to wherever in the world you originally purchased the app.
    This worked for me.
    I had tried signing in and out, deleting apps and resetting my devices; because I had never used any Apple ID except for my own personal one, I thought that those options would sort it. I changed my region to the uk (where the apps were purchased) and now they have updated with no other issues.

    You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
    and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

    I have a problem with the app store. I have to update the application badge twitter. Twitter is not installed. When I click on update in the User ID field  is already entered an email address that is strange to me. When i enter information for my ID and pass, i get an error on the app store. I can not install the tweeter nor do I delete a notification of the update.

    Have you tried signing out of your iTunes & App Store on your device and then back in again - Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign in again and see if it accepts the password.
    If that doesn't resolve the issue,  try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will display. See if the problem is resolved.

    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    The problem is being reported in the news media, yes. Apparently someone at Apple jumped the gun and uploaded the update before it was ready. They'll probably issue another update shortly, I would expect, but you can go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. If you have a backup copy of the older version of the app, remove the newer version, restore the old version to iTunes on your computer, and resync.
    Update: Well, that was certainly quick. As of a short time ago, various sites are reporting that the Find My iPhone app is no longer displaying the previous error message. If it still is for you, delete it from your iPhone and re-download from the iTunes Store.

    Problems with n97 apps connecting to network (Vodafone UK – 3G)
    Recently a number of my apps which used to connect automatically to the internet (which ever was available – known wi-fi or 3g) have stopped doing this.  They now only connect to one known wi-fi.
    I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling each app, but this hasn’t solved the problem.  I’ve checked for software updates and do not believe any have been applied or are available.  All apps have been downloaded via Ovi on the phone.  I still am able to access the internet by the web browser which was installed on the phone and via google maps (which also still manages GPS position, search, etc).
    The apps which I notice causing a problem are:
    Sainsbury’s/nectar
    Tesco
    Map my tracks
    Snaptu
    Opera Mini
    Any one got any ideas???

    I have the same problem since i updated my mac to 10.5.6.
    Each time I have to do a diagnostic and retype the WEP password to have the internet connection.

    Try This...
    Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
    Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
