Probles with VPN HW acelerator

We have DLSW trough a tunnel between two C3640 and a VPN accelerator card.
We have received the following message and he tunnel went down:
Aug 31 13:37:52: %HW_VPN-1-HPRXERR: Hardware VPN3/8: Packet Encryption/Decryption error, status=4615
Aug 31 13:50:11: %DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE: IP-EIGRP 10: Neighbor 10.37.0.18 (Tunnel0) is down: holding time expired
Any idea of what could happen ?
Thanks,
Algis

Hello Algis,
This could be a IOS bug. See document :

    Thx

    Hi,
Can you add static route on Linksys router 'ip route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2' and give a try..?

  • Problem with VPN Client and network access

We are running VPN client 4.0.1 on our laptops, and there are a number of users who are getting documents they are using on the internal network (off VPN) corrupted. The initial cause seemed to be the stateful firewall, but I have that turned off, and we are still getting it.
It only seems to be on the machines with VPN client installed, and it is only happening when the user is working on a file direct from the network drive. They are not connecting via the VPN client when the problem occurs.
    any suggestions?
    William.

Did you get any joy with this ? We seem to be having the same issue.
    Thanks

  • Error 51 Unable to Communicate with VPN subsystem

I recently transferred my macbook pro to my wife. In doing this we used Target Disk mode to transfer the contents of her iBook G4 onto the macbook pro.
For work, she has a CISCO VPN. She was able to use it on her iBook. However, when I try to launch the application on the macbook pro, I get the following message:
    VPN Client Message
Error 51 unable to communicate with VPN subsystem. Please make sure that you have at least one network interface that is currently active and has an IP address and start this application again.
After getting this message, a few times, I clicked on the get info, and noticed that the box for open with Rossetta was not checked. I checked it, but then when I went to launch it, nothing happened.
It still works on the iBook, but not the macbook pro.
Also, I have no problem with e-mail, accessing the internet or locating the macbook pro on my home's network.
I wonder if I have to delete the application and reinstall it rather than just having it transferred onto the computer via firewire in target disk mode.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If your terminal reply looks like:
    sudo: /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN: command not found
your only option is to re-install a new Cisco client.

  • Mac with vpn tracker software running very slow

    Hello,
I leave in Seattle and I use a Mac G5 running vpn tracker software tunneling into a Microsoft corporate network in San Jose, CA. My mac is plugged into a router and it is very very slow. I also have a PC with vpn tracker software which is running wireless and it is fast. Any ideas on what I need to do to make the Mac run faster. Could this be issues with my clients network? Should my Mac G5 be running wireless in order to get it running faster? Any advice would be appreciated.
    Stephen

I have the same problem. It is really, really slow. Does Windows work better than the Mac in this respect?

  • Firefox Not Working With VPN

Since a few days ago, both Firefox and Firefox Beta have not been loading any website, with the "Server Not Found" error. It's weird because everything was fine before, but now it won't load with VPN activated (but works perfectly fine without it).
Every other browser I've tried works perfectly fine though (Chrome stable and beta, Opera, & Dolphin Browser).
I'm on a Nexus 7 (2012) running KitKat and using the TunnelBear VPN service through a US VPN.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

  • Fed up with VPN connection failures

Cant get a brand new laptop with built in wireless to get a VPN connection with a BEFW11s4 router. Internet is fine. An older laptop works fine. This new labtop even works beautifully with a wireless adapter, not the built in.
Called Linksys tech support line and they wouldnt even check anything. Basically dismissed me and said its the computer (did I mention is brand new??)Now I read all the problems people are having with VPN and their routers and I cant believe they lied to me.
(Mod note: Edited post. Non-technical content. Thanks!)

What do you use for the VPN connection? IPSEC? If you only are using the passthrough function on the router, it can only allow 1 IPSEC session at a time. If you are also using other VPN softwares for that, you may need to open up ports 1723 500 50 51 and 47. This is because your router firewall maybe the cause. Try that first on a static IP for that wireless card. Try to also check if the "wired " connection to your VPN works before going wireless, you would need to do this first regardless of any brand of router...ayt?!

  • Is the jetpack 5510L compatible with VPN use

My jetpack 5510L does not seem to be compatible with VPN use. I installed a personal protective VPN for use at hotspots when traveling. It worked flawlessly since installing this year. Now I am in a resort and using the Jetpack but I cannot keep a connection open with the VPN (surf easy). Is there some special setting I need to activate so that my jetpack cannot let me get internet traffic with a VPN interface? It has all the latest updates as of today. I use Macs and Apple devices. They all work fine with the same VPN program at a hotspot if I drive into town. They work fine at my house. It is only when I try to use the jetpack 5510L that it won't work. The VPN connects for a few seconds then gets disabled then re-establishes a connection then gets disabled and that cycle continues. In the few seconds that it is established, I can download a book or something but then it gets disabled and the file is corrupt. So is the jetpack compatible with VPN use?

What type of VPN are you using?
    1. PPTP VPN (Dial-up VPN)
    2. Site-to-Site VPN
    3. VPN Passthough
2 of them you will  need a static IP address at a cost of $500 from Verizon Wireless, the other you do not.

  • Network Speed Required with VPN

    Hi,
I have a customer, he has open an office outside the main company,
Only 2-3 user (with all authorization access to B.one) will be connected with VPN.
I would like to Know how is the network speed required to use b.one with VPN connections.
    Thanks for your cooperation,

    Hello
There's no specific definition for VPN.
What we recommend based on the field experience is:
    _Terminal server_
    Bandwidth per user: 20 - 40 Kb
    _Citrix_
    Bandwidth per user: 5 - 20 Kb
Please take these numbers as a recommendation/guideline and not as minimum requirements.

  • Is ORACLE DB 7.3.4 compatible with VPN systems?

Can any body write as needed detail where I can find the information about that (Is ORACLE DB 7.3.4 compatible with VPN systems?)
Thanks in advance I need the answer quick answer

VPN is virtual private networks. This means (baldly) running secure private applications using the Internet as the platform. This has nothing to do with databases.
Did you mean VPD (virtual private database)? If so, the answer to your question is "No". Oracle's implementation of VPD uses Row Level Security, which was only introduced into 8.1.7.
    Cheers, APC

  • Cisco NAC with VPN Concentrators

Looking at the deployment guidelines for NAC integration with VPN Concentrators:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/412/cas/s_vpncon.html
Is it possible to define traffic which is exempt from NAC enforcement, for example traffic associated for LAN-to-LAN VPNs?

NAC enforcements do not work for traffic types. Following links may help you
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/nac/appliance/configuration_guide/412/cam/m_addSrv.html

  • What am I missing with VPN enforcement?

I'm making sense of how to implement the VPN Enforcement feature and would like to hear from others who have set it up.
The way I understand it to work is this...
User connects to the internet (eg with a laptop using a 3G card). Once it detects the internet connection, it switches to the Location specified in the "Switch To" setting on the VPN Enforcement page.
And I have it prompting to connect to the VPN client at this point.
What is puzzling me is... what's the point?
It doesn't seem to make a difference whether the user connects to the VPN or not. The Location in the Switch To setting can have certain restrictions but once connected to the VPN, the Location doesn't change. So, before or after connection to the VPN the same restrictions are in place.
Perhaps I'm missing something in the way this is meant to work.
How has anyone else set this up?
Ideally what I want to happen is....
User connects to the internet - so has enough restrictions (or un-restrictions) to allow this. This would include connecting at an airport or hotel where you connect via a web page. Usually this would be with a 3G modem
then the user is forced to connect to their VPN (in our case we have a dongle and log in. So, I can cause the login screen to appear on VPN switching)
Only allow internet access as long as the VPN is connected. And block access if it is not.
Any thoughts are happily received, thanks
    Alison

Here is a brief description of what needs to be done in order for VPN Enforcement to work.
    1) The "Unknown" location should have a "stateful" firewall assigned. This allows the endpoint to see all APs and also authenticate to them.
    2) The VPN Location should have an "all closed" firewall. This location will be used to switch to once the endpoint gains internet connection (the ZSC checks this automatically). You have to setup a single ACL rule
that points to the IP address of your VPN concentrator (so now the only accessible service/device is the VPN)
    3) In the "VPN Enforcement" settings, enter the IP address of the VPN concentrator, the trigger location (at a minimum this is the Unknown), and "Switch to" locations (this is the location you set up in step 2)
    5) Again, in "VPN Enforcement" configure the settings needed to make your VPN client to connect "automagically" to the VPN concentrator (client path, and optionally any arguments).
Please note that internet connectivity triggers the enforcement. If someone connects to an AP or wired network that requires authentication (such as you see at a coffee house or hotel), then the Internet connectivity fails.
    Hope this clarifies,
    Daniel

Subject: Re: What am I missing with VPN enforcement?
    Excellent - thanks Indy
That is pretty much the same as what I'm setting up. Would you mind
expanding on how you've set this up....I've put your original comments
    in blue
    1) Users log in and change their location to 'Wired/Wireless/3G'.
I know our users won't manually switch Locations themselves.
I've got this set up to detect the Unknown location which is anything
that is away from the office wired network.
    2) Once they have connected to a secure wifi hotspot or their vodafone
3g dongle is connected the location automatically switches to 'Secure
    VPN'.
Once they are on the internet, ourLcoation does switch from
"Unknown" to "Away from the Office" (or "VPN" in your system). Can I
ask you what your Firewall settings are on your VPN location? Are there
any restrictions? eg I had it All Blocked but of course it stopped it
connecting the VPN client so I've now got it set to All Stateful.
    3) After a few seconds the Cisco VPN Client automatically loads and the
user has to connect via that to get internet connectivity otherwise they
    get nothing.
I have this too - the client VPN launches and the user is prompted
to login. But what if they don't? what stops the internet working for
them if they didn't log in? When you say "otherwise they get nothing" -
what is it that prevents them getting to the internet if they have not
connected to the VPN. This is exactly what I'm trying to set up so I'm
very happy to hear that you've done it. What is puzzling me is how to
have it blocking internet access unless it is through the VPN.
I think its purpose is to make sure all internet traffic goes through
your VPN and firewalls, settings, etc etc...
Exactly what I want ! Thanks - I've just got to figure out how to
    do it.
    Hope that helps,
    That helped a lot.

  • I cannot print to my photosmart 7510 when connected to work with VPN

When I try to print to my printer while connected to VPN, I get an error that the software could not communicate with my printer. The IT department where I work has configured the VPN so that traffic to my local LAN is allowed (does not go through the tunnel). I had no problem printing to my old printer when connected with VPN (old printer was a photosmart 2510 connected via wireless network).
These symptoms lead me to believe that the printer software is attempting to connect to the internet when I send a print job to my local printer. Why is it doing that? What settings do I need to change to make it stop so that I can print while connected with VPN?

But I don't understand why the internet connection that my printer has comes into play when I'm sending a print job from my PC to my printer over my local network. I am not using the web services at all for that particular function.
At least I shouldn't be - I don't know what the HP print software installed on my PC is doing under the hood. The software shouldn't have to access the internet to send a print job locally. Nor should my printer have to access the internet in order to receive the print job from my PC.
What exactly is the printer or the print software accessing the internet for when I send a print job from my PC to my printer over my local network?

Thanks fpr your help and response
    HP.Meyer

    Hello,
Are you trying to ping the IP address of the clients behind the routers or the computer name? You will need to use the IP addresses only unless you add the names to the LMHOSTS file in your PCs. Also, if there is any antivirus or third party firewall software running on those clients it will block the PC from replying to pings from an untrusted subnet. For example you ping from R1 with 192.168.100.1 to a PC behind R2 that has 192.168.101.x. Because the antivirus or firewall software on the PC sees that the ping request is coming from a different subnet it will block the response. You will need to either disable any security software or add the untrusted subnet to the trusted list in that software. Sometimes it is best to test by pinging something that does not have any software, such as a printer or print server.
    Please keep us updated.
