we are using subcontracting procedure in our company,sometime material provided by subcontractor is faulty this material we want return to subcontractor..how to do ?

If material is taken for production,move stock rejection storage locatin,
ask quality poeples to bring stock to new material(Material you want to return) in QA32
Create a recrusive BOM(Parent & Child are same),Create a purchase order with item category L,Check recrusive BOM,
Do MB1B(541 matl doc.) to tranfer material to subcontractor,Create Challan to send materials

Problem while returning the subcontracting materials.

Dear All,
i have received finished material A (10 pcs) from subcontractor (BOM maintained B- 200 pcs and c- 300pcs to manufacture A).
Due to quality rejection i am returning 1 pc of finished material "A" to the subcontractor. When i return through MIGO with 122 mvmt type system will display entire quantity ,ie 10 pcs, against the material document number. Now i reduce the returned quantity of finished material as 1 pc, but subsequently BOM materials (components) are not getting reduced.
please advise how to reduce the components propotionate with finished product while returning the subcontracting items.
Eg : A received 10 pcs ( BOM- B=200& C= 300)
returned 1 pc of A, then system should show the components B =20 & C=30. but system shows B=200& C=300.

As per your suggestions, system does not allow to do Component reversal 542 movement. How ever system will check the special stock provided to vendor 0. All the component from vendor side consumed and recived GR already for the components B and C.
The following Error message occurs while doing 542 MVMT:
Deficit of Stock w. vendor unr. 20,000 PC : B1 TEST O
Message no. M7021
Diagnosis
Shortfall below the specified stock level or quantity amounting to 20,000 PC.
System Response
If the message is an error message (E), the above is not allowed.
If the message is a warning message (W), the system will allow your input, but the warning is intended to prevent you entering a wrong quantity.
Procedure
In the case of a warning message, check the quantity entered.
In the case of an error message, change the quantity or terminate processing.
Other Possible solution, I have simulated
Return delivery and refer material document number
Manually change the Material A ( With 122 mvmt - qty as 1 ) With Reason for movement
And Sub component as B ( 544 O + GI receipt subc.stck ) with qty 20, similarly Sub component C ( 544 O + GI receipt subc.stck ) with qty 30)
Finally you can check with MMBE ( Finished product A- 9 qty) MBLB - Stock provided to vendor Component B -20 and C-30 qty
I hope this with return the Finished product and consumed subcomponents respectively.
While doing Return delivery for against Material document system always with full qty and BOM qty only, We will manually change returnable qty to the vendor and Reason for the return in any business process flow.
I hope this solution resolved your issues on Return process subcontracting
Even after the Returned the goods to the Vendor ( due to damaged - reason ) ( with 122 and 544 O+) . Later supplier finished his re -work for the returned goods / services , you can do it regular GR against PO number with as usual subcontracting receiving process ( 101 and 543 O-)

The simplest way for plsql procedure to return multiple rows

Hi,
What is the simplest way for plsql procedure to return multiple rows (records). There are many combination of ways to do it but I am looking for a solution that is appropriate for plsql beginners. Many solutions use cursors, cursor variables, collections and more that kind of things that are complex on the face of it. Is it somehow possible to achieve the same with less effort?
Sample query would be: SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEES;
I want to use returned rows in APEX to compose APEX SQL(in that context plsql) report.
It is enough to use just SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEES query in APEX but I want to use plsql procedure for that.

The list of techniques (ref cursors, cursor variables, collections, arrays, using explict SQL) you have referenced in your post can be made to work. but...

What is the level of "programming experience" ?
What is the level of understanding of "Relational Result set" as processible in Oracle?
If you are looking for
Process_the_set_of rows_in APEX () kind of capabilitywhich "abstracts/hides" relation database from developers when working on relation database, it may not be the best approach (at least strategically). Because I believe it already is abstracted enough.
I find REF CUROSOR most effective for such use, when the "begginer" has basic understanding of processing SQL result set .
So in a nut shell, the techniques (that you already are familiar with) are the tools available. I am not aware of any alternative tools (in pure Oracle) that will simplify / hide basics from develpers.

How to test a procedure which returns a recordset from pl/sql

Is it possible to test a procedure which returns a recordset from pl/sql?
Everything I try results in errors like PLS-00382: expression is of wrong type, when I try to open the result cursor
or PLS-00221: tc is not a procedure or is undefined.
I created the following procedure:

Calling stored procedure and returning multiple resultsets

Hello,
Is it possible to create a procedure that return multiple result sets?
e.g.
procedure GetDataFromTables() is

select * from table_one;
select * from table_two;
end GetDataFromTables;
And I want to call this procedure that returns multiple resultsets (one for table_one and another for table_two)
I have referred to the OCCI sample occiproc.cpp, but I am not sure how to handle multiple resultsets.

Got the REF cursor in storedproc.cpp.
But as it is documented, getCursor() gets the REF CURSOR value of an OUT parameter as a ResultSet.
So, is it true that if I have to write a procedure that selects * from 50 tables (50 SQL statements) , I have to set 50 OUT parameters to get the result sets.?
Is there any better way of doing this?
e.g. in DB2, we can open multiple cursors in the procedure body and then get the result set one after another.

Sort/filter datablock based on procedure that return table type

I’ve got datablock based on procedure that return table type. In the form I have to provide ‘filter and sort records’ functionality. Previously, using tables/views based datablocks, I’ve done that by using:

I agree with Andreas, from the sample you have given us, I don't see any reason why you could not merge these queries into a single UNION/UNION ALL query. Also, I would add your summation query to your main query to eliminate this extra step. The result would look something like:

Stored procedure that returns a cursor (result set)

We have a stored procedure that returns a cursor (result set) but when I compliled it and catalouged (introspected) it in the OBPM I got all the primitive type parameters (either IN or OUT) in the proc call except the cursor type (the result set) which is the out param of the stored proc.
Any pointers please?

Result set is of RowType and is not supported as a Stored Procedure as far as I know.

Stored procedure that returns multiple tables

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there's a way to write a stored procedure that returns multiple result set as in sql server. for example, in sql server, you can write 2 select statements and when loading them in c#, u can get two data tables.
I am not sure having a single ref cursor for each select is the only solution. I might need to return a variable number of tables per procedure call (based on a certain criteria).
Any ideas?

Function calling stored procedure that returns a cursor into a LOV

Hello,
Is it possible in HTML DB to implement a process that has a function that calls a stored procedure that returns a cursor, used to then populate a select list?
Or can I do a function call to a stored procedure in the 'List of values definition' box for the item itself that returns a cursor to populate the item's select list?

A few things.
You are not using a JDBC Array type in your procedure, you are using a PLSQL TABLE type. An Array type would be a VARRAY in Oracle. EclipseLink supports both VARRAY and TABLE types, but TABLE types are more complex as Oracle JDBC does not support them, they must be wrapped in a corresponding VARRAY type. I assume your OBJ_TEAM_ROLES is also not an OBJECT TYPE but a PLSQL RECORD type, this has the same issue.
Your procedure does not return a result set, so "returnsResultSet=true" should be "returnsResultSet=false".
In general I would recommend you change your stored procedure to just return a select from a table using an OUT CURSOR, that is the easiest way to return data from an Oracle stored procedure.
If you must use the PLSQL types, then you will need to create wrapper VARRAY and OBJECT TYPEs. In EclipseLink you must use a PLSQLStoredProcedureCall to access these using the code API, there is not annotation support. Or you could create your own wrapper stored procedure that converts the PLSQL types to OBJECT TYPEs, and call the wrapper stored procedure.
To map to Oracle VARRAY and OBJECT TYPEs the JDBC Array and Struct types are used, these are supported using EclipseLink ObjectRelationalDataTypeDescriptor and mappings. These must be defined through the code API, as there is currently no annotation support.
I could not find any good examples or doc on this, your best source of example is the EclipseLink test cases in SVN,

To_date function in procedure which returns a cursor type

Hi All
When i execute the following query ,it runs fine and i get required result also
select *from a where adate>to_date('31-dec-2001')
But When i use the same query in a procedure which returns a cursor i get a error
"non numeric character was found where a numeric value was expected".
Then i changed the query to
select *from a where adate>to_date('31-dec-2001','dd-mon-yyyy') and it worked fine.
As i know default date format is 'dd-mon-yyyy' and no need to give the date format
explicitly in to_date function if the date(string) is in default format.
Can any body tell me the reason behind it?

Given a comparison between a date and a string Oracle will convert the string to a date. This means that if you have an index on a string column and compare it to a date the index will not be available, but if you have an index ona date column and compare it to a string column the index will be available.

Stored Procedure/Function Returns Rows?

I have very little experience writing PL/SQL procedures, but I have written my fair share of Sybase stored procedures. In Sybase, I can create a stored procedure that returns rows of data. For example:
create procedure myproc as
begin
select * from mytable;
end;
Then if I invoke the procedure (whether that is from an interactive SQL session or from a ColdFusion or JSP page), several rows of data are returned to me.
The benefit of this is that the web developers don't need to write complicated SQL.
Is this even possible in Oracle? I have never seen anyone actually do this. Or do my web coders need to learn how to write PL/SQL and embed it into their code?

Is there a way to invoke such a procedure from a SQL*Plus session and have it return the rowset (ref cursor) just as if I had typed in the SQL select statement?
For example, I just want to type at a SQL*Plus prompt something like this:
mypackage.myfunction(param1, param2);
and then have it return the results to me. Is that possible?

Create PO return for subcontracting item

Dear Expert,
I want to create PO Return for subcontracting item category.But when I tried to create it,the system prompted an error message:"Returns not possible for subcontracting items Message no. ME 548". Then I used SPRO to check the system message and there is no such a message in the system.Also I added this message into my system and set the catetory to "W". But when I create the PO Return,the same error occured.
What should I do then?
Any advice?

I have done one testing for PO return subcon item. I create the Normal PO return, and I create return delivery (mvt type 122) with reference to original material document.
But when i checked in the subcon report ( ME2O/ MBLB/ MMBE) the subcon material dont have any effect when I create the return delivery. the subcon material should be increase as we return back the item to the vendor.
Example here: we return back the boxes to the vendor, means the papers the we provided for them to produce the boxes should be increase ( means that they haven't done anything with the papers so the papers stock should increase)
In the reports ( ME2O, MBLB, MMBE) they not show the changes in stock level of papers when there is return delivery transaction. I'm not sure whether I miss out something in the report ? or maybe there are other reports to show the subcon stock level.
