I understand how create a field in the master report. I undertand how to define that field as a "subreport link" (said subreport has command as it's only "table") I understand how to "add" a parameter to the parameter list of the subreport command.I do not understand how to specify that the "sub report link" field is to be read into the command as a parameter.
Here's what I am up toTwo Date fields in master report: DateBegin and DateEndSubrpt command needs to select information based on the range between DateBegin and DateEnd.What is the procedure? CR11 help is "no help", unless I am simply asking the wrong question.

I think I have most of the procedure figured out, yet there are still problems.First: Create field (@DateBegin) in master rpt to hold parametervalue.Next: Create the parameter field (?BeginDate) in the sub report's "Modify Command" dialogNext: In the "Change Subreport Links" dialog, add @DateBegin and link to Subreport parameter filed ?BeginDateWhen I test (Preview) the subreport and supply a date when prompted for param value I get expected results.However when I print or preview the master report The subrpt is completly blank, not even title or heading information. I have verified that @DateBegin has an actual value.Why would this be happening?JSC

You can do a couple of things - one would be to pass the information using the data linking expert. Right click on the subreport, choose 'Change Subreport Links' and select the field(s) you are wanting to pass to the subreport. CRW will build parameters and a record selection formula for you in the subreport, and if that's what you want, then great. But you can also remove the selection formula from the subreport and work with the parameter fields in the subreport however you would like.Alternatively, you can look to passing Shared variables back and forth from the main and subreport. this link talks about the method to do this: http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/251

Making Useful life field optional in Asset master creation(AS01)

Hi all,
I want to make 'Useful life' field in 'Depreciation area' tab as optional in AS01 (Asset master).
1. I made the screen layout changes using AO21 and made Useful life optional
2. I assigned the above screen layout in OAYZ
Despite doing this, during asset master creation, the field still shows as 'Required' and not as 'optional'.
Am I missing anything else? Kindly provide some pointers.

Please check your depreciation key. If your depreciation is based on useful life, the key is required regardless the field status.

When using HDMI to HDMI cable the Master Sound Control is locked.

master sound control is locked when using HDMI to HDMI using an HDTV for the display.
Although itunes sound control works. Why is the Master Control locked?

There are two ways to 'solve' this.
Alter the volume before sending the digital signal down the HDMI connection, this means the signal is no longer exactly as it was originally. Apple's current (apparent) view is that this should be done at the end i.e. playback device not at the originating (Mac) end so as to minimise the number of devices making changes to the signal. Basically 'volume' is the amplitude of a an analogue wave form. (Where else do you think the term 'amp' comes from.)
Not to alter the volume of the signal at the Mac end but instead to send a signal down the HDMI cable to tell the end i.e. playback device to alter the volume, this uses a standard called CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), unfortunately at the moment no Macs support this standard - it has to be supported at a hardware level so a simple Apple software upgrade to implement this is not possible. I have previously logged an official enhancement request for this with Apple - the more people who do this the more likely it is to be added, since now all Macs include HDMI it might happen at some point.

Using Summary Fields from Detail to Master Report

Hello guys, I have a Report with Master-Detail Relationship where Detail have a Summary Field named TOTAL_PRODUCT that sum the total of products in a sell. The unique function of detail report is sum the total of products in a sell, in report we have this structure:
ID -
DATE OF SELL -
VENDOR NAME -
CUSTOMER NAME -
TOTAL OF PRODUCTS
This Field in report TOTAL OF PRODUCTS only can be calculated with Detail Table, how can i do it ?

I'll have a exemple with some data :
ID/     DATE OF SELL/     VENDOR NAME/     CUSTOMER NAME/      TOTAL OF PRODUCTS
1/     23/08/2011/             JONH MARK/              MAX FOX/              100

This Column named TOTAL OF PRODUCTS only be calculated with the Detail information, i need to sum all of products in detail table, but how can i do it in Crystal ?

How to use two "field separator" in the same Comunication Channel

I upload flat files with XI, and my Comunication Channel is configured to use the field separator "~".

Is posible to configure that Comunication Channel to accept two field separator. I want that upload flat files that has as separator "~" and flat files that has "|" .

IT IS not possible to have 2 fieldseparator to identify the fields of a record.

Using Auto Suggest To Set The Value Of Multipe Form Fields

I would like to use the Spry 1.5 Preview Auto Suggest widget
to provide the value for multiple form fields based on the row the
user selects in the auto suggestion data set. I've placed an
example of what I want to do here:

It appears that when the user clicks on one of the rows in
the auto suggestion data set, the current row for the data set is
not updated but remains the default (first row in the data set).
Therefore, if you have a spry:detailregion that uses that data set,

data set and not the row the user selected.
Is it possible to set the current row of the auto suggest
data set to the row the user clicked on in the auto suggestion data
set so that the spry:detailregion will have the values from the row
the user clicked on?

Cristian: thank you for the reply. I understand your concern
about the user changing the auto suggest field after updating the
complimentary fields. I think that could be handled through user
instruction. Additionally, instead of using form fields to hold the
complimentary data I could use non-editable paragraphs.
I hope the change is not too difficult. I think this
modification would make the auto suggest widget even more useful.
For example think about a product auto suggest. User starts to type
in the name of the product, selects the full product name from the
auto suggestions, and now the page can immediately show in a
spry:detailregion all the product details.

Error ! No field defined for function Code in MENU EXIT

Hello All,
I've created a project in CMOD for the MENU EXIT for handling one menu item in the SAP Standard Menu Bar .
i.e under the HELP MENU Item I've included one more sub menu item.
I've activated the project and I'm able to se the newly added Sub-Menu Item in the activated mode.
But when I press the newly created Sub Menu Item I'm getting a Message in the Status Bar saying :
No field defined for the function code
The Help of it says :
Message no. 00125
Diagnosis
The function code field (OK code field) has not been defined on this screen. If the user selects an application function (not a system function), the system usually provides it in the function code field (OK code field) as well as in SY-UCOMM. This is no longer possible.
System Response
The system is unable to inform the application of the current function code. The application should not use field SY_COMM. This field always contains the code of the last function chosen, which is not always identical to the application-relevant code.
Procedure
You should always define a field for the function code on every screen. The Screen Painter always proposes such a field (OK category), you only need to assign a name and include the definition in the ABAP program.
Please let me know what shud be done ?

How to bind arrays to PL/SQL stored procedure using OCI?

We are having problems trying to bind arrays to PL/SQL stored procedure using OCI. Here is the situation:
- We have a stored procedure called "GetVEPFindTasks" with the following interface:

- Now, we are trying to call the stored procedure from C++ using OCI (in UNIX). The call that we use are: OCIBindByName and OCIBindArrayOfStruct to bind the parameters to the corresponding buffers. We bind all parameters in the interface by name. Now, we do bind the record's individual item by name (RTCID, TransNum, etc.), and not as a record. I don't know if this is going to work. Then, we use the bind handles of the binded record items (only record items such as RTCID, TransNum, and NOT error_code which is not part of the record) to bind the arrays (using OCIBindArrayOfStruct).
All of the parameters that are binded as arrays are OUTPUT parameters. The rest are either INPUT or INPUT/OUTPUT parameters. Now, when we try to execute, OCI returns with an error "Invalid number or types of arguments" (or something to that sort... the number was something like ORA-06550). Please help...
Is there any sample on how to use the OCIBindArrayOfStruct with PL/SQL stored procedures? The sample provided from Oracle is only for a straight SQL statement.

Use of field Ship to party PO number in order data

In sales order header there is field for PO number sold to party as well as ship to party in sales order order data, on VA01 main screen we enter the sold and ship to party and PO number and date this is then copy of sold to party PO
now at present the Purchase order number in ship to party is always blank so if we use this field to enter the some other internal ref. number is there any effect of this.

Sold to party PO field is BSTKD
And ship to party field is BSTKD_E
So both fields are different so you can use it for any other purpose
But if you tell us for what purpose you want to use then we can able to suggest any other field which is easily accessible to user and have no conflict with any other field.

Use of field 'Payment Considered To' in Dunning Proposal (FPVA)

May I know what is the purpose of the field 'Payment Considered To' in FPVA? Let say I want to issue dunning dated 08 March 2010 (backdated). Can I use this field to limit the payment received by us until 08 March 2010? What if the payment received after that date (for example 16 March 2010)? Can the document still considered outstanding at 08 March 2010? What if I left the field blank? What it will take?

In case of payment order, the open item is marked as paid with the payment order number but the clearing entry is not made until the bank file is uploaded. The date may be given there so that it is indicated in the dunning letter as an information to the business partner. Usually only the current date may be indicated there. If no date is entered in that field then all the payments will be considered and no date will be printed in the dunning letter.

Calling an Oracle stored procedure using Toplink API - Please help

We are evaluating Toplink as a possible data access layer in large service-oriented application. The ability to call db stored procedures from within business object layer is crucial for our architechture.
I am trying to follow toplink application developer's guide examples on how to call stored procedures using toplink.
I have the folling java code:

This generates the following SQL statement:

An attempt to execute it causes a
java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column index.
As I understand it, this exception is thrown because of the "?" in place of the out-parameter value holder.
The SQL statement that I would want toplink to generate and execute should look like:
DECLARE result number; BEGIN PR_ROMAN_TEST(IN_PARAM=>5, OUT_PARAM=>result); END;
, but how do I achieve it and how do I capture the return value, all using toplink api?

CrConnectionInfo- ServerName when a datasource is not defined in the contro

I have been testing dbconnectivity.cpp from cppnet_win_dbengine in preparation for a project to migrate from the legacy CR apis to NET, but I cannot seem to get the database logins correct. Instead of cluttering the control panel with datasources, we create a DSN from scratch, but I cannot seem to get it to work:

Ie, if I use a name defined under the ODBC control panel then it works, but anything else,I just get a failed login.

OK. Please remember that I am trying to port an application with perhaps a hundred reports from the legacy interface to .NET. I would naturally like to do so with a minimum changes to the original app. When you say:

There is no way for me to provide the servename to the report this way? I have to create a result set and then bind that one to the report? If so, can you point me to some examples?
Please note that I am using DBConnectivity.cpp from cppnet_win_dbviewer.zip as a template.

Apparently am I not alone. When googling I found several posts describing similar issues, for example:

At one point did I even see Crystal Reports pull down all data from SQL Server (on the wire) and then complaining about a login failure?? What seems to work though is this:
Create a System DSN or a User DSN that point to the server. You can then select database on that server:

I tried using the <global-role/> tag instead - this does deploy without any errors - but when I call the secure EJB method I get the Security Violation error below.
The DTD says using the <global-role/> tag is fine, albeit deprecated, but the Weblogic 8.1 manual says this has been replaced by <externally-defined/>, so I'm not sure if this should work or not.

So on the whole I'd prefer to work out why Weblogic isn't recognising <externally-defined/> - I've included the full deployment descriptor below - I'm generating it using the latest snapshot of XDoclet - is the DTD specified correct for Weblogic 8.1 SP3 ? (It matches the one specified in http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/DDreference-ejb-jar.html - but I can't think of anything else that could be wrong).
Any tips much appreciated as I need to enable an administrator to customise these roles at runtime rather than hard-coding the role - group mappings into the deployment descriptors.
