Basic issue: I enter data in a form, submit the form, (use
Action=""), then Insert a record using the data entered. I can do
the adding the record with a stored proc. Then I want to move back
to another prior form and display a message "Record Added".
So after the insert stored proc how do I get to the prior
form with a variable? This is Dreamweaver, Coldfusion, SQL, and
Windows.

Can you not call the page as the end of the code block that
is calling the
stored procedure

  • Autopopulationg filed on process form without using a prepopulate adapter

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement wherein I need to populate a field based on a condition like if the country on the user profile has value as 'US' then it should populate filed on the process form with the value as United States picking it from a lookup.
    The lookup has values like-
    Code Decode
    US United States
    IND India
    UK United Kingdom
    AUS Australia
    NZ NewZealand
    So it should check if the country field on user profile has value 'US' then it should populate the value as United States on the process form, if its AUS then it should populate it with Australia and so on...
    Can this be achieved without writng a prepopulate Adapter code(Java class)?

    Thanks Suren. I was stuck with another issue so could not respond. Have started with the Adapter code... just a few doubts...(may be basic but.. :-))
    The country field on user definition is look up field or text field , if look up ,then are both the look up same (process form and user form ).
    Both the fields are of type lookup and refer to the same lookup. Anything else required here?
    I think you would need to populate the process form field with code key from the look up and then pushing it to some target
    I didnt undersrtand this. I guess I need to populate the process form field with the decode value as I need to send to the target system the values- United States, India etc and not US, IND( code key) depending upon the value in the user profile form.
    And whatever value is returned by the prepop adapter, will it be displayed by default on the process form? Also, will other values that are there in the lookup show up in the page that pops up when I click on the magnifying glass against the country field on the process form( just to allow admin change them at the time of provisioning if reqd)?

  • Xfa Form, Digital Signatures, file attachments and Reader 9

    Hi,
    In reader 8 and previous, when i wanted to have a form that could be signed, passed to the next persons, added attachement signed, repeat, while maintaining the signatures valid, i could.
    Since we updated to reader 9.12 all previously signed documents appear with invalid signatures and if i try to attach a file, the add button just isn't there.
    If i follow he following steps:
    Server side:
    - Create PDF from xdp + xml (using forms).
    - Assign Form Fillin, Digital Signatures and File Attachment (using Reader Extentions)
    Client side:
    - Populate the Form data
    - Attach files
    - Certifiy
    - Sign (multiple Signatures)
    It works fine, but it isn't the workflow i had in previous versions.
    The workflow i have here is:
    Server side:
    - Create PDF from xdp + xml (using forms).
    - Assign Form Fillin, Digital Signatures and File Attachment (using Reader Extentions)
    Client side:
    - Populate the Form data
    - Attach files
    - add Signature (only locks a collections of form fields)
    - Repeat until everyone has attached their files and signed.
    The problem is that this worked fine in versions before 9 (all digital signatures here validated with the yellow exclamation mark indicating new content), but in 9 and up what i get, after validating the signatures in reader, is a information indicating that the signatures are invalid because the document is either corrupt or has been changed.
    Is this a bug or has this been changed from version 8 to version 9?
    I've read the changelist of reader 9 and it talks nothing about this situation or Digital Rights other than form fillin, annotations and digital signtatures (the ones we can choose in the certification wizard of Acrobat Pro).
    Any idea if its possible to implement the second scenario in reader 9, or even if its possible? Is there a guide on the practices Adobe garaties will allow to validate signatures in the following years? Even if it means usings PDFA.
    Thanks in advance.

    One last try.
    You help would really be welcome in finding out the root cause of the difference in behaviour between reader 8 and 9 in this matter (bug or change).
    I have no idea what documentation to read (since i've read the launch documentation and change list documentation) about reader 9, i've contacted Adobe 3 days ago (and the answer is silence, like usuall) and have no clear thought about what to say (without taking a huge risk by giving a uninformed answer) about this issue.
    Thanks.

    The functionality that you require is not available to VBA/COM - it is only exposed via C/C++.
    However, you could retrieve the ENTIRE page image to the clipboard and then use whatever VB/VBA methods you choose to grab a section of the image.
    Of course, this all assumes that Adobe Acrobat is installed on each person's computer that will be using the solution since Reader does not have the necessary APIs and Acrobat can't be installed on a server.

  • Process + Servlet to invoke process + form + database

    GetMortgageForm process
    The following illustration shows the GetMortgageForm process (see Figure 2).
    Figure 2. A LiveCycle ES process that returns an interactive form.
    Note: This document does not describe how to create a process by using Adobe LiveCycle Workbench ES. (For information, see Workbench ES Help.)
    The following table describes the steps in this diagram.
    Operation Description
    1 The user submits a custom identifier value and the operation to perform. In this situation, assume that the user is applying for a mortgage. The input parameters for this process are a string value that specifies the form name (named formName) and another string value that represents the custom identifier value (named custId).
    Note: In the Java application logic located in the Java servlet, the formName and custId process variables are referenced.
    2 The process uses the customer identifier value to perform a relational database look-up for additional customer information by using the JdbcService service's Execute SQL Statement operation. The custom identifier value acts as the primary key value.
    3 Merges customer data into an XML data source that is used to prepopulate the form. (See "Prepopulating Dynamic Forms" in Programming with LiveCycle ES.)
    4 The mortgage form is rendered with customer data located in some of the fields, such as the address field. This action is based on the Forms service's renderPDFForm operation.
    The Java servlet receives the form (return value for the process) and writes the form to a client web browser. The name of the output parameter is RenderedForm. This parameter is a process variable and its data type is FormsResult.
    Note: In the Java application logic located in the Java servlet that invokes this process, the RenderedForm process variable is referenced.
    This interactive loan form is rendered by the GetMortgageForm process (see Figure 3).
    Figure 3. An interactive form.
    Note: This document describes how to use the Invocation API to invoke a LiveCycle ES process. It is recommended that you are familiar with the Invocation API before you follow along with this document. (See "Invoking LiveCycle ES Processes" in Programming with LiveCycle ES.)
    Summary of steps
    To create a Java servlet that invokes a LiveCycle ES process, perform the following steps:
    1. Create a new web project.
    2. Create Java application logic that represents the Java servlet.
    3. Create the web page for the web application.
    4. Package the web application to a WAR file.
    5. Deploy the WAR file to the J2EE application server.
    6. Test your web application.
    Note: Some of these steps depend on the J2EE application on which LiveCycle ES is deployed. For example, the method you use to deploy a WAR file depends on the J2EE application server that you are using. This document assumes that LiveCycle ES is deployed on JBoss®.
    Creating a web project
    The first step to create a Java servlet that can invoke a LiveCycle ES process is to create a new web project. The Java IDE that this document is based on is Eclipse 3.3. Using the Eclipse IDE, create a web project and add the required JAR files to your project. Finally, add an HTML page named index.html and a Java servlet to your project.
    The following list specifies the JAR files that you must add to your web project:
    adobe-forms-client.jar
    adobe-livecycle-client.jar
    adobe-usermanager-client.jar
    adobe-utilities.jar
    For the location of these JAR files, see "Including LiveCycle ES Java library files" in Programming with LiveCycle ES.
    Note: The adobe-forms-client.jar file is required because the process returns a FormsResult object, which is defined in this JAR file.
    To create a web project:
    1. Start Eclipse and click File > New Project.
    2. In the New Project dialog box, select Web > Dynamic Web Project.
    3. Type InvokeMortgageProcess for the name of your project and then click Finish.
    To add required JAR files to your project:
    1. From the Project

    here i submitted the form to a servlet.to add to a file created a filehandler as well. but now problem is how to add many items to file together. Onechannel with many items sholud get uploaded to filehandler which will create a RSS file structure.On the basis of input.
    at the time of addition in a channel item can be 1-5 with all fileds (title,link desc) now how sholud i iterate them all.

  • I have installed Xcel for Mac and now it opens at startup and all its files open up. How to I stop this?

    To process forms on ICD10 for my wife I had to buy Xcel for Mac. Now on startup it opens and opens all the files. I really want this to stop. How?

    Hello BTL73,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    This article shows how to add a login item. Do the revese to remove a login item.
    Mac OS X: Setting up Login, Startup items
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2602
    Log in as the user who wishes to have a login item or as an admin user.
    Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    Choose Accounts from the View menu.
    Click the name of the user.
    Mac OS X 10.3.x: Click the Startup Items button.

  • Process can't access file bcos another process has locked a portion of file

    Does anyone knows if Java could handle the well-known "Open File" problem.
    I encounter the following error when I was trying to copy an outlook file to another location:
    java.io.IOException: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.
    My codes is placed below for reference.
    Note that I was only trying to open to open the file for reading the Inputstream. Please advise what I could do to avoid getting caught in exception while reading the bytes.
    It will be good if Java could handle the Microsoft's "Open File" problem.
    // my codes
    public static void main(String[] args)
    int BUFSIZE = 4096;
    File theFile = new File("C:\\Documents and Settings\\" + myID +
    "\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\" +
    "Microsoft\\Outlook\\mail.pst");
    long size = theFile.length();
    try {
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(theFile);
    // exception will happen on the next line
    if (!(size >= 0 &&
    fis.read(new byte[BUFSIZE],0,(int)Math.min(size,BUFSIZE)) > -1)) {
    System.out.println("encountered OFM problem");
    } else {
    System.out.println("read file successfully");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("caught OFM problem");
    e.printStackTrace();

    Sometimes Windows can place a lock on files that will
    prevent you from even reading its contents. You may
    have to close the MS Outlook application in your
    machine to be able to read the contents of this file.Of course I knew Microsoft has locked the file.
    I also knows Microsoft locks a lot of other files too.
    The idea is that we just want to read the file, we are not writing or modifying anyway, so we should be able to read it. Of course that depends on whether Java wants to step into the area and do something about it. (Please read http://www.stbernard.com/products/docs/ofm_whitepaperV8.pdf)
    Well, the easiest way anyone could advise is probably to use Microsoft development tools. The idea is nobody wants to be a "Micro-slaves" if we could...
    So I am still waiting for someone with the area of expertise to reply...

  • Error occured while sending a form in test in HCM Process & Forms

    Hi
    An error occured while testing my process in Design Time Tool. All the process, form, and workflow are consistent and activated, however when I send the form in test program available in Design Time Tool I get a Short Dump (as below) followed by the error "Workflow Item Not Found, Workflow Not Started."
    Category               ABAP Programming Error
    Runtime Errors         MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN
    ABAP Program           CL_POBJ_CASE==================CP
    Application Component  PA-AS
    Date and Time          23.02.2012 09:38:34
    Short text
    Message type " " is unknown.
    What happened?
    Error in the ABAP Application Program
    The current ABAP program "CL_POBJ_CASE==================CP" had to be
    terminated because it has
    come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
    Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
    To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
    administrator.
    Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
    at and manage termination messages, and you can also
    keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
    Only message types A, E, I, W, S, and X are allowed.
    How to correct the error
    Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "MESSAGE_TYPE_UNKNOWN" " "
    "CL_POBJ_CASE==================CP" or "CL_POBJ_CASE==================CM00D"
    "IF_POBJ_CASE~CREATE_CASE"
    If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
    notification to SAP, include the following information:
    1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
    To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    2. Corresponding system log
    Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
    Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
    after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
    program: The source code of the program
    In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
    Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
    actions and input led to the error.
    Looking forward to your expert advice to resolve this error.
    Best regards
    Imran

    This can be a few things....
    1. Make sure you set up your number range for CASE Mgmt (t-code SCASE_NUMBERANGE)
    2. if the POBJ_MODEL is missing in your CASE Mgmt environment
    3. if the doc id for your object models (process, scenario, case) are somehow "out of whack" (not matching) between CASE mgmt, SCASE_CUSTOMIZING and SRMREGEDIT
    4. authorization issues (which it more likely is)... I know it sounds weird, but even giving you SAP_ALL will not do it (even it is missing some of the auth objects). You have to be able to read/write to CASE Mgmt (so the related auth objects are needed....look for ones with S_SRM* or S_SCM*). Also, WF-BATCH user needs this auth as well!
    This part can be a PAIN to get sorted out.

  • I cant figure out what is wrong i keep getting this an OIEception that says "{"The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."}

    I am trying to move a file from a folder to another folder.
    here is my code:
    //storage of the all files
    string[] folderContentNames = Directory.GetFiles(@"C:\Users\Jonah\Desktop\Test Pictures");
    private void historyPictureBox_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    destinationFile = @"C:\Users\Jonah\Desktop\Test Test";
    File.Move(folderContentNames[1], destinationFile);
    updateListBoxFileName();
    updateImageBox();
    each time I hit the bolded underlined part I get that error message.
    if you need anything else just ask.
    Thanks in advance,
    Thor Orb

    Hi Thor,
    If you want to move a file from a folder to another folder, I think you could get the sourcePath and TargetPath. The code below shows a simple demo:
    string[] folders = Directory.GetFiles(@"D:\Test\VSC#\01\WindowsFormsApp\WindowsFormsApp\Test");
    string desFile =Path.Combine( @"D:\Test\VSC#\01\WindowsFormsApp\WindowsFormsApp\Test - Copy\"+Path.GetFileName(folders[1]));
    File.Move(folders[1], desFile);
    In addition, the link below might be useful to you:
    # How to: Copy, Delete, and Move Files and Folders (C# Programming Guide)
    >> The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
    The message seemed that the file was opened in other process. Did you operate the file with other code?
    I think you could check if the files and the folders were opened, and review your codes if they were used in other places.
    If you have any further questions, please feel free to post in this forum.
    Best Regards,
    Edward

    Ya, Thanks I figured about the path and destation. yes I am using the file in another area, the file is an image jpg and I am displaying it in a picture box. Now I have been doing a little research I see a command called Dispose() and this is suppose to
    release the handle on the image, but I can seem to figure out have to use it correctly.

    when I first start the program the first picture displays, but when I trigger historyPictureBox_Click(), it does that error again. Another things is that I already looked at that link and it didn't help.
    I just super confused, I would like your help on this.
    Thanks,

  • OIM user defined field in process form

    I am trying to create a user defined field (UDF) in a process form. The UDF would be a drop down list of values for the status field.
    I've tried to do this by going to the Administration list, and double clicking on User Defined Field Definition. Then selecting the Form Designer. I can add a column but I cannot add values to the drop down. I know I'm probably doing this wrong.
    How do I add a UDF drop down and its values to a process form?
    Thanks!

    1. Create lookup table for the drop down contents.
    2.In the process form--->go to the properties tab-->select the User defined filed name-->add property--->property Name drop down list -->select lookup code-->in the property value-->provide the lookup table name-->save

  • The process cannot access the file during Crystal Report export

    We are exporting crystal reports into PDF using  ExportToHttpResponse (code snippet below)
          // Getting the type of the report file which has been selected by the user. (which will be REPORT CLASS type)
    Type objType = Type.GetType("WebApplication1.Reports." + ReportName);
    ReportClass SEPREport = (ReportClass)Activator.CreateInstance(objType);
    // GetTypedDataSet()returns an instance of typed data set.
    SEPREport.SetDataSource(GetTypedDataSet());
    SEPREport.ExportToHttpResponse(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat, Response, true, ReportName );
    Now we have created these REPORTS using Basic Crystal Report 10.5, which comes bundled with Visual Studio 2008 and .Net Framework 3.0.
    Now on our machines, we have never experienced any issues.
    BUT on the DEV server (web server) which has .net Framework 3.0 and in its GAC its has CRYSTAL DLLs version 11.5 (required to create an Object of ReportClass and its related functions) ; sometimes we get the following error while exporting crystal report to pdf:

    A bit of a confusion on my part;
    Now we have created these REPORTS using Basic Crystal Report 10.5, which comes bundled with Visual Studio 2008 and .Net Framework 3.0. Now on our machines, we have never experienced any issues.
    Going by the above, you should have references to CR assemblies of version 10.5.3700 only. No other references.
    Now, looking at this paragraph:
    BUT on the DEV server (web server) which has .net Framework 3.0 and in its GAC its has CRYSTAL DLLs version 11.5 (required to create an Object of ReportClass and its related functions) ; sometimes we get the following error while exporting crystal report to pdf:
    I wonder what runtime was deployed to the server. E.g.; if you are using CR 10.5, your assemblies will be 10.5.3700 and you should be deploying the following runtime (depending on 32 bit / 64 bit, etc.):
    CRRedist2008_ia64.msi
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255262008E/CRRedist2008_ia64.zip
    CRRedist2008_x64.msi
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255272008E/CRRedist2008_x64.zip
    CRRedist2008_x86.msi
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009351342008E/CRBasicVS2008_redist_x86.zip
    One way to check on what is actually loading is to use the [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] utility.

  • Recording forms session -output file specification?

    In Oracle applications you can set the value of ICX Forms Launcher to have the parameter "&record=FILE" and the session will then record the form activity to the file you provided (directory depends on your apps version).
    Now there are tools out there to manipulate this file for setting up repetitive data loads however they don't quite meet our needs in one way or another and also the licencing costs for many users can be high. I would therefore like to write a bespoke process that manipulates this file.
    I have gained a pretty good understanding of it just by recording different forms sessions and seeing how the file changes, what actions cause various entries in the record file etc.
    What I woudl really like though is some kind of technical document which describes the output in this file. Ie, what fields are possible in what column position, just so I don't miss anything out.
    I've searched high and low, done a search in Metalink etc and turned up nothing.
    Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

    What OS is running on your PC? I'm having the same issue with a Windows 7 PC, but not with a Windows XP PC.
    What I think is happening is that after you hit "Stop" there's a process called "iTutorCleanup" that's run to post-process the .sim file. On a Windows XP machine I can see this running, and I end up with a working .sim file afterwards. I suspect on a Windows 7 PC this cleanup process is failing and that is why the .sim file disappears.
    I'm still playing with compatibility mode settings, but haven't found anything yet that makes it all work. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful!
    Thanks,
    Steve.
