Profile settings revert back

I get these spam system notification calls all the time, so I change my profile settings to accept calls only from people in my contact list.  Which works only until the next call from these scam callers.  After I get another call I go to check my profile settings and they always revert back to accept calls from anyone.  It looks like somehow there users are able to get access to my profile settings and change them before putting a call through.  This has already happenned to me on several occasions.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and knows what to do?

I'm having the same problem! I've had about 30 random people message me, and about 5-6 calls in last day or so =/. I keep going to my privacy settings and switching it back to "contacts only" but as soon as I click "save" it goes right back to the default settings .
I've tried signing in & out and even un-installing and re-installing Skype, but it doesn't make a difference?
EDIT - Read in another thread that all you have to do it switch you're status to "offline" for a mintue and switch it back to "online" and everything should save again. It worked for me
that procedure indeed worked most of the times.

  • Re : SU25 Profile Generator revert back

    Dear Sir,
Unfortunately I open the SU25 In the CSD, there one option for the Profile Generator as Step 1, Step2 etc.....I pressed Step1 in CSD where all the profiles restricted are also have been called back to the all users.
To rectify that error, can we copy back from the CSQ to CSD ?

    Hi Ramana,
I am not clear on your question, however it seems you have accidentally filled the customer tables from the SAP standard SU24 tables.
SAP has two set of tables, USOBX , USOBT ( Standard SAP tables)
    and
    USOBX_C , USOBT_C. ( The cutomer version of USOBX , USOBT )
SU24 reads and modifies the customer tables.
Please note, when we install a new SAP system, we have to fill the cutomer tables, ( copy USOBT/X into USOBX_C and USPBT_C) which is done by SU25, by STEP 1 in SU25. Henceforth, any changes to SU24 will be maintained in the cutomer tables.
<b>THIS INITIAL FILL OF TABLES IS A ONE TIME ACTIVITY(except during a SAP version upgrade)!!!!!</b>
The result of this in a running system would mean all custom SU24 updates will be flushed, and your customer tables will be like what it is that SAP delivers. I am not sure how to revert this back, but I feel a system restore is the only option.
Also, please educate me on terms like CSQ and CSD. Maybe I am missing something
    Thank you
    Abhishek

  • Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers

Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers
We have 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers, all of which has the same printer queues installed on them that are utilized by a 3rd party printing program that does a round-robin load balancing scheme.
All printers are a combination of HP and Xerox all running some variation of the HP UPD and the Xerox UPD.  Some use the PCL 5 and some use the PCL 6 version determined by age of printer and need.
There are typically two printer queues for each physical printer.
    Example:
    LOCATION_ROOM
    LOCATION_ROOM_TRAY2
The regular queue is ok being left with default setting,
The _TRAY2 queues are set to print to "labels" or "pre-printed" paper type or a specific tray.
From time to time, these _TRAY2 queues will revert back to a factory default state and lose the setting to print to a specific paper type or tray.  Sometimes it happens to the _TRAY2 queue on all 4 servers, sometimes just 1 server, etc.  No rhyme
    or reason.
Disabled Bi-directional options on both the HP and Xerox UPDs per another article on the internet that said bi-directional could cause the printer to send back settings to the driver and cause this issue.  Even with this option off, we continue to see
printer _TRAY2 queue settings revert back to factory default and lose their specific paper and tray settings.  We have ruled out the possibility that users or other technicians are the ones making these changes so we suspect it is some interaction between
the servers, printer drivers and printers themselves causing the issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by using one of the print drivers included in Windows for a few of the printers and confirm it's the universal driver that is causing the issue.
HP installs some other processes and services on the machine which communicate with the HP devices.
PML and something else.  You might want to shut those down and see if these processes are the ones modifying the settings.
Run process monitor to truly identify which processes is causing the modifications.

I am also experiencing this issue.  I have tried modifying the Data Source credentials directly from the data source configuration on our SSRS web site.  I have also tried changing it from the CM12 Console under the Reporting services
point, specifically the Reporting Services Point Account.  No matter how many times I change it, it will revert back to an account we don't want it conifigured for any longer.
Mucking around in the registry, I found the following keys that seem to reference the configuration:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP\Datasource
It appears as though the Datasource key contains the configuration under two String Values:
    Reserved 1 = User name
Reserved 2 = guessing encrypted hash of password
Doesn't seem like it is even an option to change the configuration here, but at least this is some more info.
Any help on this would be great... until then, I will keep digging.

  • Profile picture automatically reverting back

Did anyone notice that or is it something that has to be set up separetely? If profile picture for the contact is updated using social app after an hour or so it automatically reverts back to the old one.
Spent good half an hour yesterday to updated all of my contacts just to find out they all are back to the previous low resolution images that used to be applied in the old version of the social app.
on the good side, social app now applies high res images making it look so much better. If only it would stay there....

    1. If you log in automatically, a bug in some versions of OS X will cause the desktop picture to revert to the default image at every startup. The only known workaround is to disable automatic login in the Users & Groups preference pane.
    2. If the selected Desktop picture is stored in an iPhoto library on an external drive, export it from iPhoto and move it to a folder on the startup volume. (Credit for this solution to ASC member janay.)
    3. If the desktop picture always reverts to a plain blue background, one of your login items may be causing the problem. The "TeamViewer" application can have this effect; see this thread. If it's not that in your case, rule out all other third-party login items as possible causes.
    4. If you have a MacBook Pro with automatic graphics switching, disable it temporarily in the Energy Saver preference pane, set the Desktop picture, then restart the computer and re-enable graphics switching.
    5. If none of the above applies to you, proceed as follows.
    Back up all data.
In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
              Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
              Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following items to the Desktop, if they exist:
              Application Support/Dock/desktoppicture.db
              Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the items you moved to the Desktop back where they came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the items.

I have been by a web sit that the cookies are disabled in the browser. on looking at the help on firefox help the instuction as i understand was to change the setting under the privacy tab ref history fromthe default setting of rember hhistory to use custom settings for history. I change the setting click ok but it reverts back to rember history. I just cannot change the setting. This also happend in the prevous version.

To see History and Cookie settings in Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
You need to make at least one change to make "Use Custom settings" stay selected.
If all history settings are the default then the History and Cookie setting revert to "Remember history" the next time you open Tools > Options > Privacy.
So it looks that your cookie setting are already correct.

Do you even know how to nuke and re-set Photoshop's preferences, colorplak?  Your last post seems to reveal that you don't understand what I'm talking about. Here's a link you can click on:
Preference file functions, names, locations | Photoshop CC
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CC Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
Note for Photoshop 14.1 and later: If you use Generator and reset your Preferences, Generator is disabled. Choose Preferences > Plug-ins to turn it back on.
Video: Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here.

Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Settings in N8 always revert back

I realised since few days ago, my nokia n8 does not rotate the screen to landscape anymore, and gps would not lock...
i figured out that the sensor settings were turned off,so i turned on and it fixed it,
same goes to the gps, i change the setting, tick A-gps, etc2...
but it seems after a few minutes, those two settings go back (turn off)
the screen stop rotate itself to landscape, and gps wont lock, so i have to change the setting every time...
is this just bug, or is there a way to save these setting...
-I dont turn the power saving on
    -no screensaver
-phone profile is in silence mode

This is not a bug: you should read your manual:
"There are two kinds of settings for the camera:
setup settings and main settings. The setup settings
return to the default settings after you close the
camera, but the main settings remain the same
    until you change them again."
In order to save the settings, you have to create a 'User Defined' setting, wherein you specify things like Exposure, Sharpness, Contrast, Color Effect, Balance, etc. Then later, when you want to take a photo, just invoke your already defined setting. Simple.

  • Apple Mail (7.3, OSX Mavericks) reverts back to default settings after close.  How to fix this?

For example, if I choose Mail->Preferences->Viewing->Use classic layout, it reverts just fine when the program is open.  However, when I quit out of the program and then reopen it, Apple Mail reverts back to its default styling.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -N {} + -type d -exec chmod +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • HT4528 Is there any way to get rid of the recent iphone upgrade and revert back to default settings? Since upgrading I have experienced nothing but problems with Siri.

Since selecting the prompt to upgrade my iphone4s, I have experienced significant problems.  The "old" Siri disappeared and the new one is slow, ineffective and unavailable much too frequently.  The faded colors on my iphone screen are also troublesome.  I wish that I could revert back to the default settings
on my iphone4s.  Has anyone else experienced the above problems?

Apple does not support downgrading to a previous iOS.
You might first try a reboot:
press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple icon is displayed, then let go.
    If it doesn't help,  try
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settiings.

  • Why would settings on my router automatically revert back to defaults?

Have a Model BEFW11S4 V2 (OK, it's old), has been in service constantly since 2002.  I had WEP128 set up, had customized the name of the SSID, changed the admin password, had PPPoE specifics entered in, etc.  Was gone for a couple of days, came back, and found that my router had defaulted back to the factory defaults - the admin password was back to admin, WEP security was gone, PPPoE settings were gone, and the thing was broadcasting "linksys" as the SSID.
What would cause this?  Should I be concerned from a security standpoint?

Hello skyedog, the only concrete reasons why your router settings went back to default because you or someone might have press the reset button at the back of your router accidentally or did it on purpose...or someone might have access your router's web user interface and revert the settings from there..or just maybe plain firmware problem..
    Ok here's your solution.
    > download your router's firmware here.
    > reconfigure your router back. For Cable Internet Setup and for DSL Internet Setup
*Download your router's firmware first(make sure to select version 2) and update your router's firmware. After that just reconfigure your router settings. To avoid this problem, make sure not to press the reset button at the back and change your router password to something else so no one will be able to access the web UI of your router. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  • DNS reverting back to old settings

We are in the process of upgrading our Active Directory to Windows Server 2008 R2, from 2003.
There is a new primary and secondary DNS that we're still in the process of changing across all servers and devices that require DNS settings to be specified.
It has worked successfully on most servers and devices, however on other servers, for example Unix and Linux type virtual machines the DNS reverts back to the old settings after they are changed resulting in the server continuing to query the old DNS server
    and not the new one.
I've been through the forums to find the answers but haven't found a lot of matches and want to explore all possibilities as to why this could be happening from the 2008 AD perspective before looking at the OS level.
Has anyone come across anything like this?
I'd be most interested to hear how you fixed it and what the cause is.

I am having this same issue within my organization. Some servers change while others don´t. What is unique about my situation is that it´s all Server 2003 physical servers, no issues with 2008 and any flavor VM. Here is what I´ve tried thus far on one of
the servers to attempt to remedy this but none of these have worked (for me at least):
     In no particular order
    Restarted the DNS Client Service
    Did a full Virus/Malware scan
Checked for any applications that could be changing the DNS settings
    Repaired NETSTACK
    Installed updated network drivers
Changed the DNS settings with a local admin account (non-domain admin)
Applied a Flush DNS on all of the servers after changing to the new DNS settings
Removed the old DNS servers from the Name Servers tab in the SOA record in DNS Manager on the primary DNS server
Scavenged Stale Resource Records on both the old and new DNS Servers
I hope some of this info is helpful to you, I´ve combed the internet for any info on this issue but found very little. I also hope you find a fix! Peace.

  • Alpha Channel Settings keep reverting back to "Ignore"

    Hey All,
Just diving into FCPX and I had a question about the alpha channel. After finding the Alpha setting in the inspector, I switched to it premultiply. However, upon clicking out of it, the inspector reverts back to "ignore alpha." It does this whether I change the clip in teh Project or the Library. The title animation I'm using was exported from after effects with the animation preset.
Is there a reason why it keeps reverting back to the ignore alpha setting?
    Thanks
