Programmatically change size of dialog framework

Hi All,
+ I'm using JDev 11.1.2.3
+ Currently, i show popup by using "dialog:" as prefix of CommandButton action string
So, Can anybody tell me how i can modify size of dialog framework programmatically?
P/s: I use dialog framework, I do NOT use <af:popup />
Thank you very much,

approach 1:
private RichCommandButton btnSave;
public void setBtnSave(RichCommandButton btnSave) {
this.btnSave = btnSave;
public RichCommandButton getBtnSave() {
return btnSave;
public void clickButton(ActionEvent) {
btnSave.setInlineStyle("input your style");//how you can change inline style in your bean
<af:commandButton id="navigateButton" action="dialog:openWindow" useWindow="true" windowEmbedStyle="inlineDocument"
binding="#{testbean.btnSave}"/>
approach 2 :
private String inStyle;
public void setInStyle(String inStyle)
this.inStyle=inStyle;
public String getInStyle()
return Style;
<af:commandButton id="navigateButton" action="dialog:openWindow" useWindow="true" windowEmbedStyle="#{testbean.inStyle}"
/>

  • Programmatically Change Array to Cluster Size

    Hello,
    I have a Chart with several values scrolling across it. The number of
    values is variable. To prepare the data for the Chart, I use the Array to
    Cluster element. Is there a way I can programmatically change the size of
    the cluster output?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Peter,
    As far as I know, you cannot programatically chage the size of the cluster output in the Array to Cluster vi. However, you may not need to convert to a cluster for charting. The chart will take a 2D array and plot mutiple lines. See the attached example which uses Reshape Array to form the data for a chart.
    The only hitch is that it erases the plot when you change the number of values to plot. This may or may not be important to you.

  • Programmaticly change cluster size

    I'm i'm facing the following problem, i want to display several plots in a chart, to do this i'm using a build to cluster function, because the source is an array with N items. The sollution i came up to, was not correct because the cluster has a fixed size and the array doesn't. Which results in 9 plots (default cluster size) and only N of them have to be displayed in the chart.
    I included a part of my program. By which i hope it explains my problem a bit more. This subvi is executed X times and saves N value's to an array and after each run the array is converted into a cluster and is displayed in a chart.
    So my question is, is it possible to programmatically change the cluster size, or is it possible to realise a chart which is updated during runtime with new value's.

    I figured it out by myself, havn't slept to mutch last night For those who are interested in my solution, here is what i did after the array is coming out from the forloop i reshaped it so that the dementions are the same as the number of plots i want to have, then i wired the output to a chart and it works

  • ADF Faces: dialog framework calls  twice prepareModel and prepareRender

    Hi ,
    does anybody know why ADF Faces dialog framework calls twice prepareModel and prepareRender lifecycle methods . That's a really problem for me because i'm calling db procedures through backing beans methods which are attached on components properties.
    I cannot allow myself to cal the procedures more than once.
    Can somebody help me?
    Krasi

    Okay, although the servlet doesn't require to be run inside the JSF context, I added "/faces" to the URL simply because this would allow me to query the "postback" flag. In other words, I changed the invocation URL from "/jrrun" to "/faces/jrrun".
    In the servlet's "service()" method I put:
    logger.debug(">>>>>> isPostBack? " + AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().isPostback());
    I also attached a JSF PhaseListener to the whole thing.
    Then I opened the parent page, I clicked on the button and the dialog appeared. The console output follows:

    07/01/19 21:37:05 ------------- end of phase RESTORE_VIEW 1

    By the way, partialSubmit="true" has the same effect as partialSubmit="false".
    I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Or perhaps you don't understand me correctly.
    I haven't got a problem with the parent page. I have a problem with the dialog page. It's executed twice. The RENDER_RESPONSE phase (as well as the RESTORE_VIEW phase) is executed twice.
    I want it to be executed only once. I don't want the servlet to be executed twice.
    Let me point out again that in the Embedded OC4J (inside JDeveloper) everything is okay. The servlet is executed only once. However, the same thing on OAS 10.1.3.1 runs twice.

  • How programmatically set size of report element in Java

    In topic
    [How programmaticaly set size of some field?|How programmaticaly set size of some field?]
    someone changing programmatically report element, but I think this part of code
    is in .NET framework
    For example I mean something like following snippet
    BoxObject box = (BoxObject) reportClientDocument
    .getReportDefController().findObjectByName("headerBox");
    BoxObject newBoxObject=new BoxObject(box);
    Border border=new Border();
    border.setBorderColor(new Color(255,255,255));
    newBoxObject.setBorder(border);
    newBoxObject.setFillColor(new Color(255,255,255));
    reportClientDocument
    .getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().modify(box, newBoxObject);
    Why I think this is in .NET framework because java object "ReportClientDocument" don't have "getReportDefController()" method (I donu2019t know .NET).
    What I want to do, I want to take "Details" (part of report) and change size.
    If there is no way to take "Details" how can I take other report element e.g. Text Object

    Ernest,
    What enviroment are you working in? Because my ReportClientDocument object does have the getReportDefController method. How are you declaring your object?
    Try something like:
    private static com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument myRCD;
    BoxObject box = (BoxObject) myRCD.getReportDefController().findObjectByName("headerBox");
    Cheers

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • How to programmatically change the cell color of an ADF table ?

    Hi all,
    I have an ADF table with some fields on it. Depending on the value of a field named, say, "F1", I would like to change its background color.
    So far I can change the field color with this EL expression inside the InlineStyle table column property:
    font-size:medium; background-color:#{viewScope.myBean.setColor};
    where setColor is a bean function, in where I access the field "F1" via binding, parse its value, and return the right value - so far, so good.
    The bad thing is, the InlineStyle affects that field in all the rows of the table, while I would like to change only the field in the rows, which have that specific value in it.
    So for example having the rows:
    F1
    abc#1 ----> currently selected row
    cde#2
    efg#3
    I want to change the background color to all the F1 fields which have a "1" after the '#' and let the other "F1" row cells background color stay unchanged.
    But as you can imagine, the InlineStyle affect the "F1" background color in all the rows (assuming that the first row of the table is selected).
    So the question: how to access a single cell of a row in an ADF table, and programmatically change its background color ?
    So far I can iterate through the ADF table with:
    BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("aTableIterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
    RowSetIterator rsi = dciter.getRowSetIterator();
    System.out.println("rsi getrowcount = " rsi.getRowCount());+
    Row row = null;
    +if (rsi.getRowCount() > 0) {+
    row = rsi.getCurrentRow();
    System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
    System.out.println("class : " row.getAttribute("F1").getClass().toString());+
    +}+
    +while (rsi.hasNext()) {+
    row = rsi.next();
    System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
    +}+
    Regards,
    Sergio.

    Hi,
    I mean a specific cell within a row.
    Here are two pictures that show an ADF table with two rows and some fields on it:
    https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents#cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents
    bild_A is what I have, bild_B is what I would like. Note that:
    in bild_A the first row contain a yellow background color for the field F4 and an orange background color for the field F5. This is correct, because F4 has an "1" at the end of its string value, and F5 has a "3" at the end. So far so good.
    But the second row (again, bild_A) has also the fields F4 with yellow background color, and the field F5 with orange background color, even if the value in both fields is 0.
    What is should be, is shown in bild_B.
    The problem is that the solution provided affects all the cells of the column, while I need to change the background color of a single cell, and leave the other unchanged (see bild_B).
    I hope that clarify a bit :)
    Sergio.

  • Can you programmatically change the width of columns in a table control\indicator

    Is it possible to programmatically change the width of columns in a table control\indicator ie to fit to width of the data or in my case the header information.

    Create a property node (or reference) and use the 'Active Cell' property to select which column you want to change and then use the 'Cell size'--> 'Width' property to change the size.

  • ADF Dialog Framework Cancel Button

    Hi all,
    We're experiencing, in multiple applications, a problem with a Cancel button (immediate="true") on a page launched by the dialog framework. While the value does not change in the model layer (saving to the database confirms this), it does seem to appear in the application UI, even after clicking the cancel button, until you post data.
    Details follow:
    This code is all JHS-generated, but we've spoken to Steven Davelaar, and he's pretty sure it's not a JHS problem. I certainly can't see anything obviously wrong with the code.
    Here's the component that launches the dialog, minus attributes like "rows" and "columns":
    <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="MIS Notes: "
        id="RpReportDocHeaderVwMisNotesLabel">
        <af:inputText id="SomeAttr" value="#{bindings.SomeAttr.inputValue}"
            required="#{bindings.SomeAttr.mandatory}"
            simple="true" partialTriggers="SomeAttrEditorLink"
            binding="#{SomeAttrEditorItem.editorItem}">
        </af:inputText>
        <f:facet name="end">
            <af:commandLink id="SomeAttrEditorLink"
                action="dialog:editor" immediate="true" useWindow="true"
                partialSubmit="true" windowHeight="320" windowWidth="670"
                returnListener="#{SomeAttrEditorItem.returnedFromEditor}"
                launchListener="#{SomeAttrEditorItem.launchEditor}">
                <af:objectImage source="/jheadstart/images/editor.gif"/>
            </af:commandLink>
        </f:facet>
    </af:panelLabelAndMessage />The editor window, minus layout, form, etc. elements, is as follows:
    <af:inputText rows="10" columns="100"
        value="#{processScope.editorValue}"
        maximumLength=
            "#{processScope.editorMaxLength==0 ? null : processScope.editorMaxLength}" />
    <af:panelButtonBar>
        <af:commandButton text="Cancel" immediate="true">
            <af:returnActionListener/>
        </af:commandButton>
        <af:commandButton text="OK">
            <af:returnActionListener value="#{processScope.editorValue}"/>
        </af:commandButton>
    </af:panelButtonBar>Now, SomeAttrEditorItem is a managed bean of type oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.bean.EditorItemBean, so it's JHS code, but nothing about it should really matter if the returnActionListener for the Cancel button doesn't contain a value and is immediate, should it?
    Any help much appreciated. Thanks much,
    Avrom

    Thanks, Frank. This looks like a JHS bug (albeit one we can work around by writing our own template)--JHS should probably not be generating code that leaves cancelled changes in place. I'll notify them on their forum.
    [Edit:] Actually, there's something I don't understand about the instructions. In a case like this, I really only want to undo changes to a particular attribute--whatever attribute the dialog changed. And ideally, I don't want to refresh to the last pre-commit point; I want to just discard the changes that were made by this particular dialog. So I don't really think Row.refresh() is going to work here.
    Now, I could do something like this: In the launch listener, store the relevant attribute in some transient location, and on return, refresh it. But that seems overly complicated; isn't there a way to just not submit a dialog's values upon returning to the original form, or, at least, to prevent them from updating the model?

    [Further edit:] Wait, no, there's something even stranger going on here. Note that the text input in the dialog isn't bound to "#{bindings.SomeAttr.inputValue}"; it's bound to "#{processScope.editorValue}". And the cancel button doesn't even have a returnActionListener! So how is the value getting passed back to the original form?

  • How to programmatically change the width of a graph?

    How can I programmatically change the width of a Waveform Graph or Waveform Chart? When I create an implicit property node for a graph or chart, it is read-only. Changing the plot bounds worked in earlier versions of LabVIEW, but not anymore.
    Solved!

    It works for me in LV2013 but I'm using the Plot Area : Size : Width property.

    Is there an SAP EP6.0 API call to allow one to programmatically change the width of the Detailed Navigation, or programmatically hide or unhide it?  I realize that this can be preset, but I am interested in dynamically changing these values.

    Hi!
    If you look to the sourceCode of your EP (rigthClick->show source) you'll see that some JavaScriptFiles are loaded. One of them is called:
    "WAandNavPanel.js"
    Inside this file are some nice functions like "collapsePanel()" and so on. I didn't try, but perhaps you can use them or they can show you the right way.

  • 11g: NavigationHandler.handleNavigation() and dialog framework

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use handeNavigation() method from NavigationHandler to perform navigation which uses dialog framework to show another taskflow as inline popup?
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().getNavigationHandler().handleNavigation(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(), null, "myDialogAction");When I do this, I get Error 404--Not Found in the browser (the URL is changed to the task flow which should be displayed as inline popup).
    Thanks,
    Pedja

    Yes, I've added
    <context-param>
    <param-name>oracle.adf.view.faces.CLIENT_STATE_MAX_TOKENS</param-name>
    <param-value>100</param-value>
    </context-param>
    but had no luck. There are a couple things I can add since my last post:
    1) Other folks reported int he forum that their problem was that after opening a dialog several times, the returnListener method wasn't getting fired. This is not the issue for me. My returnListener method gets fired every time I close the dialog.
    2) I had another developer run the same 10.1.3.4 version of the app on her machine in both IE 6 and 7, and we could not recreate this error. For right now, it seems that this is only happening on my machine.
    So... until this comes up on someone else's machine or in our production environment (once these changes are deployed), I'll assume there is something hosed up in my environment that's causing this. What I find weird is that when I run this code in 11g, it works fine even on my machine, which makes me think that this is more of a framework thing than a browser thing. But, if that's the case, why wouldn't it behave the same way on someone else's machine? I'll consider this issue closed for now... But, if you have any thoughts/ideas, I'd be interested in hearing them. Thanks for the help.

  • How can I programmatically change the colour of tab pages? If not, when?

    I have found that in LabVIEW 6.0.2 the "Dialog" tab control cannot be coloured, but the other type of tab control one can be coloured by the paintbrush tool. I cannot find any property node to programmtically set the colour of the enitre tab control or individual pages. When will these properties be available in LabVIEW?

    The dialog controls and indicators are designed
    specifically for use in dialog boxes. These controls inherit their color from the colors you set in Control Panel >> Display. Because of this you will not be able to programmatically change their color.

  • How can I programmatically change a label?

    Hi everyone,
    I have a 2-D array that I wish to populate with different sorts of data.  Depending upon the data, the names of the rows and columns may change.  Arrays have to have identical labels and I suppose I could simply populate a string indicator, but frankly, that looks like trash.
    How can I programmatically change a label of a column or a row in a 2-D array?  Should I consider using a table?  I want it to look nice.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi
    I do not think you are able to change the label programatically.
    But you might consider to use Captions instead of labels. You can hide labels and make captions visible programatically, and you can change the text of the caption and size (see enclosed vi).

    You could look at the Stack Exchange thread that seems to exactly match this question (from
    here).
    Think about using the features framework, as the closest you can get to updating the template is to update all the features that the said template is based on.
    Beyond that, I can't think of anything that might achieve what you're after.
