Programmatically setting box list items as selected

Hi,
I am trying to set all the entries of a multi-select list box as selected in the docReady event.
The code looks something like:
..this.setItemState(i, true) //for all entries of the list.
However, as reported in some forum contributions and documented in "Adobe Reader 9.0 Compatibility Overview", there seems to be a bug in the API, and only the first item of the list is marked as selected.
I would therefore like to ask whether someone has found a workaround for this problem and still manages to highlight all entries of a listbox (for instance by using a different event)?

Worthy of an ER due to a common usecase? Possibly? We've a list of "down under" banks to show, approx 50, but there are only 4 primary banks in Australia so it makes sense to put them in the MRU list, with the MRU updating itself if the user makes use of other entries in the pop list. When we said to the business custodians that we could possibly do this, they were fairly keen.
I can imagine the use case for a list of postcodes/suburbs or countries too? I'm happy to raise an ER.
It does raise the question, what's the process of the JDev team evaluating ERs? Is it just the number of names against the ER? If customers out there don't know to raise a specific ER, how do you ever judge demand?

I am using oracle form 6i, i want to use drop down list item to select date
I was able to manipulate my codes to get values for the three drop down list items year, month and day
but at when list change trigger on month to populate day , it populated accordingly but at point if I selected other month, it added the days of the new month selected to

How to create a multi column list item and select these values from a LOV

Hi all,
My requirements are:
1) create an LOV which holds the productno, productname and productprice fields (this is working)
2) at run time, select one record from LOV and populate the list/grid with this selected record values of productno, productname and productprice fields, so we are showing them on the form in the form of a table/grid (not working)
3) be able to select multiple records from LOV and be able to populate the list item with multiple records (not working)
4) have two more columns in the list/grid, for productquatity and total price (not wokring)
Please help me.

If you use a list item to display multiple columns then you'll need to use a fixed-width font. You can achieve a similar look with proportional fonts by using a normal block and setting the fields' bevel to 'None'.
Each column in the LOV has a Return Item property (under Column Mapping Properties). Set this to a :block.item reference for each column to bring the data back into those referenced fields.
You can't select multiple records from an LOV. For this you will need to create your own form. Check the help for system.mouse_button_modifiers to see how to respond to Ctrl+click and Shift+click.
To add columns just modify the LOV's record group's query.

How to allow user defined in list item to see item using only Designer. Approver set in list item can't see items they are to approve.

SharePoint 2010 and Designer 2010.
We have a list of items that users enter information into. Only the user who enters the data can see the item. It's confidential stuff.
One field is the name of the person who will approve this record.
Workflow sends approver an email and sets a task to approve the item.
Problem is that the user set as approver cannot see the item.
We can't have a list of approvers - as all staff can potentially be approvers.
We can't allow anyone other than the person who created the item and the person that is set as approver in a field to have access.
I am not a programmer, but a user of SharePoint Designer 2010.
(I did think we had this sorted by sending an email containing all the list item fields, but this task still requires permissions).

I understand that after you grant user permission on current item ,the user still cannot approve the workflow task .This is because the user doesn't have approve permission in the Tasks list .You only grant the user permission on current item in current
list ,so he can approve the item by clicking the Approve/Reject in the edit control block .
Your workflow is correct ,now you need to grant the users Approve (a permission level) permission in the Tasks list settings .In this way ,the users can finish the tasks .

Set focus on item that selected in multiple-selection list box field in infopath

I have multiple-selection list box field in infopath that have for example 40 items. (I customize sharepoint list with infopath),then
publish infopath form in to sharepoint list. users want to add new item,when they selected or checked each item in multiple selection list box, after that automatically control focus on first item, but I want to focus remain on that item
I was selected. Why this happen?! I also set postback settings to “never” in multiple-selection list box properties. But didn’t work.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to find several columns based on user selection of checkboxes in one of the Multiple-selection List Box.
I recommend to customize the form to concatenate values from choice field (with multiple values) into single line text box, and then hide the fields based on the text box value.
We can follow the steps as following:
Add a text box control(filed 3) on the form to hold the value selection in the multiple selection list box.
Set the default value for the text box control as
substring-after(eval(eval(Value, 'concat(., ";")'), ".."), ";")
(you need to change the ‘Value’ in the formula to your multiple selection list box name: filed1).
Add the conditional formatting on the flied: flied 3 does not contain value (you need to change the ‘Value’ in the formula to your multiple selection list box value.).
In addition, you can add Formatting action to hide the text box control.

Can I programmatically trigger a menu item tag selected event?

I am trying to trigger a menu item selected event using built-in vi's. I want my Handle Menu vi to handle the case where the user checks on a boolean control as well as slected the menu option. I don't want to use POSTMESSAGE with acceleration key combination. Are there any built-in vi's which can "post" such a message?

I have a similar situation and understand why adding a message to the menu queue would be an elegant solution to the problem.
I have lots of menu bar selections in my program, and I would like to set up a button bar like most applications now have. To do this using the "in parallel" way becomes a ratsnets of wires and would take up a lot of window space.
I have attached a file that is a good example of how to solve this problem with Event Structures in LabVIEW 6.1. It doesn't take up much additional diagram space and it can be quickly and easily reconfigured.
It would be nice if future versions of LabVIEW had a more integrated button bar.

suppose I select 11000 - Current Asset (make it parent account) from the list and
in the pop list this entry remains there...now after commit and clear_block it clears the block and ready for a new record...
My question is that when I execute the query all the values comes exactly but the list item perticular element should also be set accordingly ..how can I set the list item element according to the rest.

as the list item is a control item, it won't be auto-queried while executing query on the base table block. what you can do is, write the post-query trigger to assign the value of parent_account (sub_account_of) to this list item.

Passing Multiple Selected List Items to a "New Item" Form in Another List with Multiselect Lookup Field

Version Info: SharePoint 2013 Server Standard (*BTW...I do not have access to Visual Studio*)
I have two lists, let's call them
-Assets
-Asset Checkouts
"Assets" is the parent list, and "Asset Checkouts" has a lookup column (multiselect) which is tied to the serial # column in the "Assets" list.
Basically, what I need to accomplish is this: I would like to be able to select multiple list items in the "Assets" list, and create a new item in "Asset Checkouts", and pre-fill the multiselect lookup column in the NewItem form
for "Asset Checkouts" with the values from the selected items in "Assets".
Any ideas or suggestions on how to do this would be most appreciated!

According your description, you might want to add new item in "Asset Checkouts" list when selecting items in "Assets" list.
If so, we can achieve it with SharePoint Client Object Model.
We can add a button in the "Assets" list form page, when selecting items, we can take down the values of columns of the selected items, then click this button which will create
new item in "Asset Checkouts" list with the values needed.

Or if you just want to refer to the other columns in "Assets" list when add new item in "Asset Checkouts" list, we can insert the "Assets" list web part into the NewForm page
of the "Asset Checkouts" list, then when we add new item in the "Asset Checkouts" list, we will be able to look through the "Assets" list before we select values for the Lookup column.
To add web part into the NewForm.aspx, we need to find the button "Default New Form" from ribbon under "List" tab, then we can add web part in the NewForm.aspx.

Populating a text field depending on what is selected in list item field

I have A form which contains a ROOM_REF field which is a list item, and a ROOM_DESC field which is a text item. (among other things).
When the user selects from the ROOM_REF field (which is populated by a record group on startup),
I want it to automatically populate the ROOM_DESC field with the coresponding (read only) data.
Which kind of trigger do I need to use and with what code?
Something like:

Need to do conditional processing based on just-selected list item

hi -- I have a vertical, unordered list. Each list item branches to a different page when selected.
When the list item is selected, and before the branch happens, I need to do some conditional processing
that depends on which list item was just selected.
How can I get information about which list item was just selected?

Carol - List items get rendered as links on the page so as soon as you click the link the browser goes there. You can't normally run a process on the current page by clicking that link. I suppose you could build each list item target (defined in the list item definition) to use javascript that submits the page, perhaps passing the item name as the "request" value. Then when the page is submitted, an after-submit process could do whatever you need it to and similarly a branch could be defined for each list item that would take the user to the intended page.

I have a list item which type is combo box.
it shows the Departments list from the department table at run time.
i populate at through a procedure at runtime.
problem
the user could update the list by writing something into it.
i want to force the user to just select a value from the list, not update or insert.
i change the properties of the list item which prevent insertion or updation,
but it disable the selection from the list as well.
how to prevent the user to write something in the combo box list while giving him the
selection authority using the combo box list item?

but i want to use the combo box instead.
for popup list there is a problem of the null value,
you must assign a value to the popup list and set its required property to true for doing so.
and the combo box do not need this. and my desired functionality require it.

Is it possible to hide specific custom actions from list item menu for an XSLTListView webpart using CSR... The list has some custom actions created through SPD and we wanted to hide the out of the box list item menus. Could
someone please point me to some examples.. and what would be an alternative in case this is not possible.. jquery...?

In the View Settings under the Filter option check "Show Items only when the following is true:"
Select the Expiry Date column for the "Show the items when column option".
Condition should be "is greater than", or "is greater than or equal to" if they don't expire until the end of the current day.
And for the value put [Today] including the square brackets.

i have list item that is populate from table. e.g list item contain issued,received,forward to finance,cancelled,
if i insert in the issued in table thats values will be shown in list item but not selected means disabled which means that this value once inserted in the table for that record.
after that when recieved is inserted for that particular record this means that issued and received is disabled in list item....
i want such dynamic list item which that is shown all values in list item but that values once insert in table these value is disabled in list item not selected by user for particular record...
