Propagation is not working

Hi,
We're using Asynchronous cache group for a particular table in TimesTen.
Associated oracle table contains several records. When we create a cache group in TT, it gets created successfully. But data inside oracle table is not propagated from oracle to TT.
We've alredy executed ttcachestart() and ttrepstart()....
Any suggestions for the same?

Asynchronous Write-Through (AWT) cache groups are intended for the updates to occur in TimesTen and the committed transactions asynchronously propagated to the Oracle database. Essentially, TimesTen is the master for the cache AWT tables.
If you want updates from the Oracle Database to be refreshed to the cache table in TimesTen, you should be using read-only cache group with autorefresh, where updates from the Oracle database are tracked and refreshed incrementally at the autorefresh interval you specified.
You can have readonly cache groups and updateable cache groups caching different tables.
It is not a good practice to allow updates to the cache in TimesTen and updates to the same tables in the Oracle database.

  • Unscheduling propagation does not work.

    When I try to unschedule the propagation, it does not work. I tried as following command:
    exec DBMS_AQADM.UNSCHEDULE_PROPAGATION(queue_name => 'TEST_Q1',
    destination => 'dbpm.phonon');
    So I tried to shutdown the job_queue_process, but it did not performed correctly. I used the command of
    alter system set job_queue_processes = 0;
    But the snp process did not killed even if the parameter was changed '0' value.
    RDBMS version is Oracle8i (8.1.6.3.0) and Platform is SunOS.
    Could you give me advice?
    Thanks in advance,
    Phyllis

    Thanks for your reply in advance.
    As a result, there's no any error messages.
    I tried to unschedule the AQ queueing propagation schedule via
    exec dbms_aqadm.unschedule_propagation. It appeared to hang
    (nothing response so long time). So hit the key <CTRL-C>.
    And I reattempted the previous process. But I haven't got any
    message. There's no response even if I attemped it for several
    times.

  • Message Propagation within DB not working

    Hi,
    I am just following steps as depicted in reference manuals, to implement multiple consumer queue. What I found was even though I am enabling propagation message is not trnasferring to another queue.
    Can anybody suggest way of working out this.
    regards
    Navneet

    Hi,
    There can be many reasons why messages are not getting propagated. First make sure you have atleast 2 job queue processes (init.ora parameter - job_queue_processes).
    Check the log directory to see if you have any snapshot trace files. That should give you more info on why propagation is not happening.

    Hi Tim,
    The Vintela SSO document for BOE XI 3.1 is very comprehensive, but it has not resolved my issue.
    Under NTLM option I SSO works great with .NET InfoView as long as I have the web site authentication set to Windows Authentication and ASP .NET Authentication enabled.  Once the ASP .NET is disabled, SSO does not work.
    When using the Kerberos option, .NET InfoView SSO does not work due to the error 'propagating the security context between the security server and the client'.
    The Java InfoView SSO does not work either, but I can enter my user credentials and logon fine.

    The only issue on the server is that I cannot open the tomcat confi app. due to it not able to start service BOE120Tomcat.  I was able to update the registry with the info for the bsclogin.config and krb5.ini.  I was not able to find anything on getting that service started.

  • Jms is not working properly in clustered environment

    Hi all,
    i am using the application server oc4j 10.1.3.1.0 enterprise edition . my application is standalone application(thick client)
    we are using the jndi.properties as follows ...
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=opmn:ormi://172.16.1.38:6005:group/Security,opmn:ormi://172.16.1.38:6006:deceval_group/Security
    java.naming.security.principal=oc4juser
    java.naming.security.credentials=oc4juser
    oracle.j2ee.rmi.loadBalance=lookup
    we have two application servers in cluster topology as u can see above we have used one instance from one application server and one from another.
    i have seen that for every instance there one jms server. at runtime it is taking one application servers services
    say opmn port 6005 but when the application is connecting to the another application server say opmn 6006
    here jms is not working properly when i send message
    As we have clustered environment message must be propagated all the applications who use above jndi.properties.
    if i keep use only one application server opmn say
    java.naming.provider.url=opmn:ormi://172.16.1.38:6005:group/Security
    then its is working excellently
    please can u provide any solution ASAP
    thanks in advance

  • Custom DB authentication to an application from Oracle Portal not working.

    Hi All,
    We have a Portal customized and integrated to LDAP for SSO.
    From the portal, we have a link that takes to another custom application that requires another level of authentication. We have implemented this authentication as custom Database based authentication.
    When user login to the portal and access this link, he will be directed for authentication again. This custom application has been installed on a different OC4J instance while Oracle Portal is running in a different OC4J instance.
    Issue is though user details are being propagated to the custom application page, we are receiving an error saying authentication failed.
    In the OC4J instance specific for this custom application, we have configured jazn.xml to use custom authentication.
    Below is the code:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8' standalone = 'yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE jazn PUBLIC "JAZN Config" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/jazn-9_04.dtd">

    <property name="role.mapping.dynamic" value="true"/>
    <property name="custom.loginmodule.provider" value="true"/>
    </jazn>
    and in jazn-data.xml, we gave the role mapping.
    But the problem is when the link to the custom application is accessed, it seems like the custom autentication mechanism is not working.
    Can anyone throw light on this?
    Do we need to give the same configuration in the j2ee/home/config directory files also?
    Can we use both LDAP and custom DB authentication with in the same OAS setup. Remember as of now, Portal and custom application are running in different OC4J instances but within the same OAS.
    Any help in this regard will be highely appreciated.

  • Propagate wsseHeaders not working

    Hi,
    In a BPEL 10131 process I call a Web Service that is secured via OWSM. The secured service including OWSM policies works fine.
    In order to call the secured service from the BPEL process I want to propagate to the secured service the security credentials that were passed to the BPEL process. In line with the BPEL Admin guide, I specify the following property for the secured partner link:
    <property name="wsseHeaders">propagate</property>
    This does not work. Specifying the additional property:
    <property name="wsseOASIS2004Compliant">true</property>
    does not make a difference.
    When I 'hard code' the credentials like this:
    <property name="wsseHeaders">credentials</property>
    <property name="wsseUsername">un</property>
    <property name="wssePassword">pw</property>
    everything works like a charm.
    Has anyone seen this before? I suspect a bug in the product for propagation of the credentials.
    BTW: I already tried substituting wsseHeaders with basicHeaders and being desperate, have also tried httpBasicHeaders. No luck.
    Help appreciated.
    Thx, Sjoerd

    Hi Rajesh,
    No, I have not checked this with basicHeaders. Your best option is to log a Service Request through Metalink. If patches are available to fix your problem (there are close to 100 BPEL patches right now, many people anxiously await the 10.1.3.3 patch set ;-)) Oracle Support should be able to tell you straight away.
    Best of luck.

  • Remote Desktop not working on client after crash

    I was installing the ARD Client along with some other OS upgrades on two client computers. My main ARD console was busy copying some files so I set up ARD to install the pkgs via the task server on another Mac. During the install my main ARD console crashed. Now the clients show up with the status that Screen sharing is allowed but they show the old version of the ARD client is installed. I manually installed the new ARD client but it still shows up on my console as the old version. Sometimes I can connect to the clients and sometimes I cannot. I can't do anything other than screen sharing and that is not working well either. I went to the client computer and stopped and started ARD through system preferences. When that didn't work I used the terminal command to kickstart ARD on the client. No change on the admin side. I've also noticed when I am able to connect to the client that it is constantly reconnecting to it like it is dropping the connection. I ran Activity monitor on the client and ARDAgent shows up there but keeps disappearing like its starting and stopping on its own. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them?

    When I looked in this folder, I saw the "Client" folder with the red "no access" icon on it.  I did a GetInfo and changed the permissions for this folder to include Administrators with read/write (why it wasn't already like this as I was logged into the server through ARD as admin [server is headless], I'll never know).
    I propagated this perm changes down through the folder's children and all seems well.  Its likely that because of the access issue, ARD could not initiate any connections (vnc://serverIP did not work either initially).
    YMMV.

  • Distributed transactions across RMI-IIOP client to RMI-IIOP server do not work

    Hi,
              Based on the links below:
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jta/trxrmi.html#1018506
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jta/gstrx.html#1067532
              It appears that is possible to have distributed transactions across RMI-IIOP
              clients and RMI-IIOP applications (servers).
              I followed up the "Transactions Sample RMI Code" section but it appears that
              the transaction context is not propagated from client to server. I am also
              surprised by the note:
              Note: These code fragments do not derive from any of the sample applications
              that ship with WebLogic Server. They merely illustrate the use of the
              UserTransaction object within an RMI application.
              The above note suggests that there is no sample code available.
              Is there anyone who successfully had RMI-IIOP applications (servers)
              participating in distributed transactions?
              Is there any sample code that illustrates RMI-IIOP applications (servers)
              participating in distributed transactions?
              If anyone thinks that this should work I will post my code that does not
              work.
              Regards,
              Dan Cimpoesu

    But if you look to the diagram:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/jta/gstrx.html#1040200
    it suggests that transactional context is passed from clients to RMI-IIOP
    servers.
    Am I wrong?

  • Spotlight Not Working on Xserve with Large Storage

    We're using Xserve (Mac OS X Server 10.6.7) with ~6TB storage as our AFP fileserver. The spotlight searching is not working well, neither at the server console nor client side.
    I have tried rebuid the spotlight index with the following commands,
    sudo mdutil -i on /
    rm -rf /.Spotlight*
    sudo mdutil -E /
    The spotlight engine seems working. But we can't find things accuractly. It seems that we can find things in the past but not the ones recently added to the server. We have clients from 10.4.11 to 10.6.7, and there is no luck for all.
    Does spotlight has storage size limit?
    Thank you!

    Same fundemental issue here. Config a little diff: Serve 10.5.8 with 5 shares from a mirrored RAID. mix of 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 desks. Of all the shares the find problem exists on ONLY ONE SHARE.
    One 10.4.11 system can execute find successfully, while all 10.5.8 and one 10.4.11 do not. Some days all systems return results successfully.
    Weird observation 1: CONSOLE sometimes does not display contents of unsearchable volume even though user (admin) has RWE to that share.
    Shell into 10.5.8 toggle mdutil against the problematic mounted volume does not resolve the problem. Add/removing volume via Spotlight security does not resolve the problem. Tried rm .Spotlight-V100 from workstation command line does not resolve the problem. Tried rm .Spotlight-V100 from console command line does not resolve the problem.
    Weird observation 2: All users same group with RWE set and custom ACL. Privs have been propagated recursively. Correct user and group have ownership to .Spotlight so it's not an issue of write failure while indexing.
    An identifiable pattern of failure remains elusive.

    HI,
    We are trying to invoke the BPEL process securely from the client application using JAZN security settings, this is not working, with any credentilas or with out providing the security credentilas BPEL invocation is happening.
