Property Mapping in remote Profile source vs. User Porfile Mgr

I am confused about Property to user info mapping. I have mapped the user properties that I need to the user info attricutes in the user profile manager. However, if I go to setup the profile source, I am prompted to setup the mapping again. It does not recoganize the mapping already done though the user profile manager. What am I missing or not doing correctly? Do I only need to setup the Profile source no the user profile manager? I'd appreciate any insight into the differences between the two.
Thanks.

On the Profile source, the property map you define here maps Plumtree properties to the attribute names on the remote system you are synching with. An example from the LDAP PWS: on the portal their is a property called "Email Address". LDAP does not have an attribute with the exact name "Email Address", instead this information is stored in an attribute called "mail". So on the Profile Source, you have to map "Email Address" to "mail".
The map on the User Profile Manager allows you to map Plumtree properties to the name of the user info header you want sent to portlets. For most cases this is the same as the property name.

  • "Property Mapping for Synchronization" User profile export to AD issue - Sharepoint 2013

    Trying to map user properties to AD Mapped Attributes.
    I map the property "SPS-JobTitle" to AD Attribute "title" with direction "export" click add and then ok to save and everything is fine, I then Map "WorkPhone" with Ad Property "telephoneNumber" with direction
    "Export" and click add then ok  and now property mapping on both "SPS-JobTitle" and "WorkPhone" show two mappings.
    If i go into the propertied it will show two mappings under "Property Mapping for Synchronization" both the title and work phone mappings.
    If i remove it from one it removes from both
    flavio

    It´s a bug in Sharpoint 2013, confirmed by MS.
    I reported it in January but its still not fixed :(
    The bug can be reproduced just as you mention by enabling export on several AD properties, the property will get duplicated on the previous propery you enabled export on.
    This makes it impossible to use the AD export functionality in Sharepoint 2013 until the bug is fixed.

  • Deleting user id's mapped to selection profiles in MC77 of SAP APO

    Hi,
    We usually map selection id's to User Names using MC77 Transaction. This Mapping Of Selection id's to User names is used for quick navaigation in planning book.
    But When we delete the user id [When it is Obselete] in SAP, The Selction id mapping exists without getting deleted.
    This has created a huge list of selection profiles mapped to obselete user id's.
    Please let me know if there is a way to delete the user id's [Not the Selection id's] from the system.

  • LDAP Profile Source

    Hi, I've got a problem with LDAP Profile Source.
    In my LDAP I've got two OU for my user. In the first ou "ou=People" I've got : uid, Name, Society and in the second ou "ou=Society" Address, Telephone, Fax.
    I don't know how to get data from multi OU with LDAP Profile Object.

    Along the lines of what Mark was saying - you must have a single auth source that is bringing in multiple OUs. The trick is that you can have multiple profile sources, simply set the query base in each to your specific OU with the specific property map for that OU. Set each profile source to profile sync the everyone group for your auth source. Each user in the entire auth source will be sync'd by each profile source, but the users will only match one of the two profile sources. This way they get properly sync'd and you get the correct vars.
    The other thing you can do is simply setup a single profile source, put all the properties in the property map regardless of OU. Only the properties that values exist for will get imported to the users they exist for. If you want to limit the props however (i.e. they actually exist for both OU's but you only want the ones you specify to show up), then you need to take the 2 profile source route.
    Hope this helps,Akash

  • Single firefox profile across all users and profiles on networks

    I'm in the process of setting up Firefox as the standard browser for an entire building, and part of this is ensuring that everyone's firefox profiles are saved to personal network drives as opposed to the local machines. I can use the profile manager to do this on a user-to-user basis, but what if I want all the users of any machine to use the same firefox profile that points to a specific network drive? (This will ensure users always have their browser settings and such regardless of where they access them, allow us to switch machines out without losing anyone's browser settings, etc. The contents of this drive are specific to the user account, but always have the same path.)
    As far as I can tell, profiles created in the profile manager are specific to each (domain) user, which would mean an awful lot of manual profile creation. Is there some way to ensure Firefox always uses a specific Firefox profile or path? Is there some way to have firefox check which profiles exist (in a .bat file, for example), so I can create the proper one if needed? Can I use a command line to set which profile to use by default, or can that only be done from the profile manager GUI?
    Finally, and this one may warrant a separate query, but I've found that when using profiles that point to a network drive, trying to open firefox on multiple computers will fail (another instance of firefox is open, close it or restart). Can I tell Firefox to force the old instance closed, or will I have to firefox.exe -no-remote -p "differentProfile" every time?
    We're on Windows 7, by the way, for references' sake.

    We just deploy images, so everyone should have firefox already, but we're pretty good about keeping all data on mapped network drives instead of letting windows save things locally, so I'm trying to find the best way to integrate Firefox in that system as well.
    Every user has a network domain account, which can be accessed from anywhere in the building. While mostly people use their own computers, due to the nature of the place, that is often not the case, and several people will need to sign on to the same machine on a given day.
    If there are command-line ways of checking for firefox profiles, I can have them run in our logon script to ensure everyone always has access to their personal profiles, but I'm not sure the best way to go about that, yet. I suppose that's the main part of my second question--what is the cleanest way to check for and create/map/assign firefox profiles automatically?

  • Group Policy Pref - Mapped Drives Not Applying to One User

    Hi All,
    I’m new to this list, so please excuse any etiquette slip ups.  
    I have three users at a site. All their machines are running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and have client side extensions installed. I created a group policy to map their default drives using GP User Preferences.
    Each of the drives is set to "update".
    As an example of the policy created XML is as follows:
    <Drive clsid="{935D1B74-9CB8-4e3c-9914-7DD559B7A417}" name="H:" status="H:"
    image="2" changed="2009-11-25 05:13:58"
    uid="{8A44D2F4-AAE5-4F43-AEEC-D36F08EA619C}" desc="Maps the users H drive to
    ServerName\users$\%username%" bypassErrors="1"><Properties action="U"
    thisDrive="NOCHANGE" allDrives="NOCHANGE" userName=""
    path="\\ServerName\users$\%username%" label="Home (ServerName)"
    persistent="1" useLetter="1" letter="H"/></Drive>
    and
    <Drive clsid="{935D1B74-9CB8-4e3c-9914-7DD559B7A417}" name="J:" status="J:"
    image="0" changed="2009-11-30 03:52:58"
    uid="{535CD462-A45D-4363-ADA1-2316D5ECC703}" desc="Maps J drive for users to
    \\ServerName\apps" bypassErrors="1"><Properties action="C"
    thisDrive="NOCHANGE" allDrives="NOCHANGE" userName=""
    path="\\ServerName\Apps" label="Apps (ServerName)" persistent="1"
    useLetter="1" letter="J"/></Drive>
    The group policy is applied to an OU for that site.
    All three users are in the same OU.
    All three users are also in the same “xxsitecode Users” group.
    2 of the users log into their pc and get the mapped drives with no issue, but one user doesn’t.
    There are no other login scripts and the user has no manually mapped drives.
    He does have a H drive mapped using the profile field in his AD object as a temp measure. But every 90 mins any other manually mapped drives are removed by the policy.
    We don’t use roaming profiles
    To trouble shoot I have tried
    -    Reinstalling client side extensions
    -    Re-joining the pc to the domain
    -    Running gpupdate from the command prompt to see if any event logs are generated (none are)
    -    Manually mapping the drives to make sure there is network access etc – I can manually map them/he can access them.
    -    Creating the user a new account, when he logs in using that account he gets his mapped drives on all PC’s
    -    Getting the user to log into a different pc, when he does this he doesn’t get his drives – so it’s not his machine or profile
    -    Manually checking the security on the user object in AD against one of the users who gets their drives mapped
    I'm sure the GP is fine because it works for two other users and the testing isolates his user account as the issue.
    The Policy I’m having issues with is xxxx Mapped Drives/ Printers
    I have posted this issue on the tech net GP discussion groups page, but haven’t had any replies.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Simone

    What's interesting is that I applied a new GP to users - it has one policy setting and one preferences setting. He only gets the policy setting.. aka he gets the wallpaper but not the homepage.
    Also, Jorke asked me to post the gpresult /z .

  • Multiple profile sources...ways to combine properties

    My situation:
    every user is in back end data source 1 (DS1)
    some users are in back end data source 2 (DS2)
    I can sync in properties from DS1, but its probably out of date. If they are in DS2, then I can sync in this more up to date info. However, there is no way to say "if this property exists in DS2, use it, otherwise, use the property from DS1". Each profile source will overwrite the properties from the other profile source.
    I'd combine them into 1 profile source but DS1 is the active directory profile source so I don't want to have to edit it or create my own.
    Is there any way around this?

    Joel Collins wrote:

At the very least reconcile the shared data fields and eliminate them from whichever source is less used.

  • The property XMLDataVariable on the XML Source was empty - Case Foreach Loop Container

    I have very simple XML source and OLE DB Source in Foreach Loop Container,
    but seem to get error, because XML Source cannot find the XML.
    "Error at Data Flow Task. The property XMLDataVariable on the XML Source was empty"

    FileExtention = *.xml
    FilePath =
    FolderPath = C:\Customer\XML
    XML Source:
    Data Access mode = XML file from variable
    Variable name = User::filePath

    Have you filled the variable (filePath) with a default value? Otherwise the XML Source cannot validate. Alternative is look for a property "DelayValidation". In most cases this is a property of the connection manager, but you're not using
    one for the xml source....

  • Error when attaching a remote XML source

    Hello,
    When I try and attach a remote XML source to my XSL file,
    Dreamweaver CS3
    tells me "Unable to locate or parse the XML source".
    The XML file in question is located at
    http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0085
    - which is a fully
    functioning URL to an XML page - I can load it okay, and I
    can view the XML
    source.
    Why does Dreamweaver report that it cannot access it? If I
    open the source
    of that URL and save it as a .xml file and attach it to my
    XSL locally, it
    works just fine - so it works locally but not remotely. The
    source is likely
    to change frequently, so attaching a local XML file is not an
    option.
    If I ignore the Dreamweaver error message and use that source
    anyway, the
    browser just responds with "An error occured while loading
    XML document
    http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0055".
    Error message was: A
    connection with the server could not be established ".
    The only thing I can think of is, the URL to the XML source
    doesn't end in
    ".xml" - but then again, hardly any XML sources on the web do
    so I can't be
    the first person who wants to try and incorporate one in
    their site like
    this!
    Any help appreciated!
    Cheers,
    D.

    that allows me to
    > manually specify the proxy to be used (or, indeed, to
    force the code to
    > use the browsers default proxy). Any ideas?
    Okay, now using this in a new file called web.config
    <configuration>
    <system.net>
    <defaultProxy>
    <proxy
    usesystemdefault = "false"
    proxyaddress="
    http://myproxy.blah.blah:80"
    bypassonlocal="false"
    />
    </defaultProxy>
    </system.net>
    </configuration>
    All is well - except, that restricts the app to people who
    are using this
    proxy - any idea how to fix that code to make it default to
    the users
    browser settings? (Which I thought was the default in .Net
    but maybe not??).

  • How to render web items based on the authorisation profile of the user

    Hello,
    Is there any way to render web items based on the authorisation profile of the user. The only way i can think of is:
    - Write ABAP to look up into the security mapping tables.
    - Convert the ABAP report into RFC-Enabled FM. The selection variables will be part of the import/export parameters of FM and table can be used to display the result.
    - Create HTML template using WAD, write Java Script to call the FM and map the import/export parameter. Display the result in Table.
    But i don't know How to use the Java Script to call Function Module (FM) and get back the authorization through parameter.
    Is anyone know about it or is there any other method to do it? I can't find any solution and it is very critical for me.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Rajat

    Hi Rajat,
    Do you mean that you want certain users to be able to use only certain web items? I think you can use the libraries for that and assign them to roles:

  • After moving shared profiles to Windows 7/32 Pro PC, I can't access them from XP box mapped to the profile share (P:\Profiles...) after editing profiles.ini to point to the network share. I can edit files in the profile directory from XP.

    Previous configuration: Shared profiles located at D:\profiles\ on PC1 (XP Pro SP3). 2nd PC (PC2 also XP Pro SP3) mapped to \\PC1\Profiles via mapped drive P: and using absolute reference in profiles.ini on PC2. Remote profiles work OK on PC2.
    New PC added (PC7) to eventually replace PC1 (Windows 7/32 Pro). Profiles moved to D:\Profiles on that box. Firefox and Thunderbird work fine on PC7 with the local profiles. Profiles.ini edited on PC1 to point to the network share and will not access the remote profiles. Access permissions are set to full for everyone. I can write and edit to files in the profile directories from PC1.
    I tried adding a profile with the profile manager and tried to force it to use the network share, but it still located the new profile down in the default directory ...\application data\Mozilla\Firefox\

    Well, try this (I was able to fix my with these steps):
    Go Utilities > Disk Utility
    Select your Startup Disk, e.g. Macintosh HD
    Then, under the First Aid Tab, click Verify Disk Permissions.
    If there are errors, then click repair Disk Permissions.
    After it is done, restart the computer and see if your problem is resolved.
    I hope this help.

    </Event>

    Hi,
    This can be done using user-defined function as well.
    Code the function as...
    if(Addr_Type.equals("HOME"))
       return "03";
    else if(Addr_Type.equals("MAIL"))
       return "05";
    else
       return "Invalid Address Type";
    Here, Addr_Type is Input String Argument for this function.
    Map this function between ADDRESS_TYPE and ANSSA.
