PSD files rolling back to previous saved points on their own

I've been using Photoshop CC for awhile now and I'm quite happy with it except for one problem which I've been noticing. The PSD files seem to roll back to previous saved points after closing and saving them. It's not immediate, but after a few days it happens. Which means I've been losing hours of work across all my files. I'm not sure if it's connected, but it usually happens after every time I update CC, which is very frequent. Either that or Photoshop has never been saving the files properly in the first place.
I use Photoshop CC on two computers: Macbook Pro Mavericks and Desktop PC Windows 8.1. I transfer PSD files between them constantly using an external hard drive. Which brings up a scary point, identical files on both my computers and hard drive roll back to previous saved points, so I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with my hardware.
Anyone else noticing this or is it just me?

Forgive me, but let me add to Noel's comments.
Is the time signature on both computers the same? That is, when you look at the time on either computer, is it correct?
Also, since you are on CC, have you considered saving the images you are working on in you Creative Cloud folder? You can start work on one computer, save and close the image, then when you are on the other computer, open that image directly from your CC folder on that computer and continue right from when you left off.
Here are a couple of points to be aware of and to consider for this to work: CC works just like DropBox, you will have a CC folder on both of your computers and they will contain any file(s) you put into them. When the Cloud notices something new or updated, it will transfer the file(s) up to the cloud. When you are on the other computer, it will notice there is a new or updated file(s) on the cloud and will download them automatically to your other computer. The file(s) are ON you computer, not solely in the clouds. To make this work though, you have to have your CC account be started and running for any work to transfer into or out of your computer. If the CC application isn't running there's nothing to control this mechanism. (E.g., if PS isn't running, you cannot open a PS file, if CC isn't running it can't do the transfer thing. [The CC application is the icon that is red with the interlocking infinity like thing in the middle.]
You have 20 GB of storage on the CC and that should be big enough to hold most projects till they are done.

    1. OracleOra920Agent
    2. OracleOra920TNSListener
    3. OracleServiceMission
    4. OracleServiceReposit
    5. Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Here it shows as follows when I execute the command lsinventory:

  • I cannot and never have been, able to open a file that has been previously saved to hard disk by choosing the print to file option in the print dialogue box

'''I cannot and never have been, able to open a file that has been previously saved to hard disk by choosing the print to file option in the print dialogue box. Firefox displays gooblygook even though the file name is an html, Windows Notepad crashes, MS Excel does not recognise the file type. MS Word displays goobblys also when the file has no filename extension.'''

If you use print to file then you get a file that is meant to be send to a printer and that file has all kind of formatting code for that specific printer.
Opening such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use a text only printer to print the file to, so make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.

  • Rolling back to previous version of Spotify and preventing update

    Hi
I thougth people might find it useful to know after not liking the recent update 0.9.15.27 I tried rolling back to previous versions of Spotify using instructions from another community post.  These are the results I had roughly
Very early versions 0.49.285 to 0.5.2.44 automatically updated to the most recent version of Spotify which as of today Iis 0.9.15.27
06.2.240-..0.6.5 installed fine but all my friends were gone I seemed to be able to add them if they subscribed to my playlists but updating their activity was dubious at best
0.8.0.952-0.8.3.22 all rolled me up to 0.8.3.22  Still no friends list
From version 0.8.8.50 my friends returned as did Starred tracks which I like
I think from  0.9.10.22 Spotify was able to update itself again to the latest version
This took a long time so I hope someone finds this useful lol.  Im running windows 7 for information and this is the instructional I followed.
    https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Mac-and/Tutorial-stop-auto-update-and-use-old-client-and-skin/m-p/769659/highlight/true#M84315
Thats 4 hours of my life Im never getting back in the quest for a spotify that doesnt annoy me lol
UPDATE: Im not sure at which release this fix does not start working but I had went with 0.9.11.27 and even though when I checked the information it said I still had that version my activity feed changed to the new round pics of my friends.  I have went back to 0.8.8.50 as that is the first release where my full friends list returned and have quit and restarted and still remains on this version so my further advice is you may have to try this a couple of times and if it auto updates try rolling back to an older release until you find a compromise of one you like that also WONT auto update as at some stage Spotify must have altered the way the programs update.
It would also be useful if you could restart your machine and check that your version does not auto update then post which one you are on so we can figure out where the fix works until and once we know more I will update this first post from feedback

Just an update from my end... Initially I downloaded 0.9.11.27 and got the old activity feed! I vowed I would never restart Spotify (I hate the new feed that much as it simply changes the experience completely for me). This morning Spotify would not play anything so I had to restart and, alas, the new dreaded feed!!! BUT, then I got the banner asking me to restart to download the latest version of spotify; I did as I already had the new feed again. Yet, after the update (It updated to 0.9.15.27)I now have the old wonderful activity feed again!!! Not sure how to explain that...

  • Roll back to previous version of Premiere CC

This might help someone. I was having allot of issues after I updated to 7.2 with audio dissolves and playback so I reverted back to 7.1. This is how to do it:
Follow links on this thread on how to download version 7.0.1:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5823746#5823746
*its about halfway down the page
*Make sure you click the first link and leave it open in the background before you click on the download links otherwise you wont get access.
Download update for whatever version you want to roll back to:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=98&platform=Windows
You need to download two files to install Premiere CC 7.0.1. There is an installer (.exe) and all the files (.7z). Once both are downloaded click the .exe and that will install Premiere.
Then unzip the update and install.
    Good Luck!

Thanks Ann – in response to reader requests, we've taken it a step further...
Here are all the installers & updates for all CC tools into one a codified set of instructions:
How to Access, Revert or Update to Any Version of Adobe CC Apps
So, rolling back (or forward) through any Creative Cloud update is now possible if/when necessary.
Hope this helps someone in a pinch!

  • Solutions center - roll back to previous version?

The 2.3.002 version does not work correctly. The previous version (no idea what the number/version would have been) was resonably helpful. The current version does not display correctly and does not allow me to select options within the various tabs as the contents/options are displayed out of the viewport and there is not 'scrollbar' or anything to enable access. Is there anyway to roll back to a previous version?
    My system: W520/Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2760QM CPU @ 2.40GHz/8GB Ram/Windows 7 Professional

see if the older package is still in /var/cache/pacman/pkg. If you find it, which you hsould be able to unless you ran pacman -Sc at an inopportune moment, you can install with pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/pkgname.pkgver.pkg.tar.gz

  • Going back to previous save point or that you didn't manually save?

    Hi,
Is there a way to go back to a previous save point in a session or one that you didn't actually save manually? Like maybe it saves automatically every now and then and you can revert to it if need be?
I'm thinking i seen something somewhere that logic's default for this type of thing is 10 points, although that could have been undo points i can't remember.
Reason being is that for some reason all of my ultrabeat, bass and synths have reverted to their default settings. I have no idea why. Turned it off at end of working on it last night and everything was fine, just turned it back on this morning and it's like that.
I do have another save point as a backup but it's very far removed from the current one but the settings haven't changed and it's all correct settings, so instead of reverting back is there a way to copy a whole project in its entirety over to another project? Tracks, settings, everything completely?
I really hope i can get back to a previous save point. Anyone help?

No matter, i've found it. Yes! I'm so pleased. You don't even know how much.
Why i didn't see that backup folder before i have no idea... must be going blind

  • Upgraded to FF5 a week ago, nothing but problems since; can I roll back to previous version!

I notice on the Help files that I am not alone in having problems with FF5. I have tried running in Safe Mode and am now stuck in this mode! Nothing including re-booting will shift it. PLEASE - how do I get back to previous version - 4.nn

First of all fix your starting in safe mode problem
    * Firefox is stuck in Safe Mode | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help<br>https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox%20is%20stuck%20in%20Safe%20Mode
What you notice in Questions are problems that people ask for help with. Often there are solutions to those problems that do not involve going back to an earlier version. But without details of your problem one can only provide the information you ask for which is ''how to go back to a previous version''.
'''For those that really need an earlier version of Firefox''', find your system and the Firefox version you want in releases, download and start the install.
    * ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic
*[http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]
If an extension worked in Firefox 4.0, it should be working in Firefox 5.0 as well.
    * [http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/05/21/firefox-5-compatibility-bump/ Firefox 5 Compatibility Bump]
You can force 5.0 "compatibility" with the "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Compatibility Reporter]" extension, or with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility extensions.checkCompatibility] using about:config. ''Use at your own risk.''
'''Keep your extensions up to date''', don't wait for a Firefox update and then try to do everything after the Firefox update.
'''Research your''' extensions, some may have updates, some may be found in the developer comments or user comments on the add-on, or on the "'''View all versions'''" link which is part of the Release notes at the bottom of the add-on page.

  • Roll back to previous version of specific package

I have a general question. I recently upgraded with pacman -Syu and my lighttpd is now broken. Is there a way to simply roll back to the previous version of a specific package? Thanks!

see if the older package is still in /var/cache/pacman/pkg. If you find it, which you hsould be able to unless you ran pacman -Sc at an inopportune moment, you can install with pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/pkgname.pkgver.pkg.tar.gz

  • NWDI: Rolling back to previous version

    Hello All,
Is there a way you can tag the whole workspace or a project before I release my changes? (tagging is a feature available in version control systems like RationalRose Clear Case).
This feature is important so I can go back to the version of the project that's in production and make a bug fix, uninterrupting my ongoing enhancements for the same project, that won't go to production for some time.
I know that enhancements/maintainence scenarios can be handled by creating another track for the main track and connecting them via repair connections. The problem with that is, repair connections automatically forward the bug fixes I do to my enhancements track (which I don't want).
I tried syncing to a date... feature in DTR perspective. This would give me the whole code thats in production, but unfortunately its not editable to fix my bug.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

Sync to Date is currently the only option offered by the DTR.
You can only edit the active version of a resource in a workspace, because the DTR does not support branching within a workspace: There is no mechanism in place to merge an older version of a resource into the same workspace.
If you want to do this, you must make a copy of the workspace (a "maintenance" workspace) and make your changes in that workspace. You can integrate the related activity/activities into the "ongoing development" workspace afterwards, if you want to of course.
Why don't you want your bugfixes to be forwarded by the way? Those bugs are also in your enhancement tracks...

  • Anyone figure out how to roll=back to previous version iPhone OS?

3.0 just doesn't get it for me. This past week I've completely reset my iPhone 7 times. This is just nuts. Wifes phone is doing exactly the same thing.
Apps crash immediately, reboot the iPhone takes about 15 minutes to come back, apps still crash, rebuild fixes it but it comes right back.

Do you mean a 'reset' or 'restore as new'? The two are vastly different, although either may work.
A reset is pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
A restore is done through iTunes on your computer.
Also, you wouldn't happen to be Jim North from DeSoto and TAMU would you?

  • Can I roll back to previous version ( snow leopard ) 10.6 from Lion?

    Hi every one?
I recently upgraded to Lion OS to macbook pro 13 inch which I bought recently in July.
I know that macbook pro came with the snow lepard install dvd disk and wanted to know if I could
restore back to leopard as I notice bit slow and sluggish in overall performance since I upgrade to LIon..
Can someone give me a advice on this issue please ?

thanks BUT, I did NOT back up through time machine...
Can't i just load my snow leopard install dvd which came with my macbook and install fresh to leopard??
To be honest with you, I am a new user from pc and was really enjoying using apples operating system.
I mean i still do, I just want to go back to where I was ....
    Please help.... I really appreciated...

  • Neither the newest Firefox or the previous version when I rolled back saves previous sessions but I keep geting the "this is embarassing...." message while Firefox can't even stop loading

I copied your guesses but I have no idea what I am supposed to do with them. Should I check if I have all of them installed? If I have them which one could cause the problem I just described?

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

  • Why have individual files in the cache have been placed in their own folders

I was servicing a client's laptop this morning and on checking the cache found that all the individual files that are normally there have been put into single directories. This mean there are directories marked as A,B,C etc, and each of those directories contain sub-directories numbered up to 100, followed by alpha characters, AD,AC and on. Each of these numerous folders contain just one file.
I have never before encountered this and am wondering how I can get the cache back to its normal state. System is XP Home SP3, fully updated; Firefox version 5 [self installed update to version 6 before I powered down].
I appreciate any clues or remedies.
    Clinton

Firefox 4 and later versions use a more sophisticated file structure and creates many subdirectories in the main cache folder to make it possible to store more files in the cache.
You can do a search for all files *.* in Windows Explorer (or another file manager) to see all the files in the cache in one list.
