PSE 10 crashes when applying filter

Steps to reproduce
1. Load image (In my case .NEF file)
2. Select Smart Brush (either one)
3. In the options bar, select Show All > Florescent Chalk
4. Apply filter. Elements starts creating multiple layers and than crashes.
Can reproduce this every time and so far only with the Florescent Chalk filter. (Crashes with Raw and jpg)
Windows 7 64 bit, 8GB mem, GeForce GTX 275 video

The action Florescent Chalk should still show up for the Smart Brush Tool under show all.
I had to start pse 10 up a second time before it would show (that's without rebuilding the media data base file)
I think the updated action was just to address the crash with the smart brush tool and it would probably take a major rewrite of the action
to enable it to work with a selected part of a layer and with the smart brush tool at the same time (the two effects use the same action), as
most of those image effect actions are quite old and some haven't been changed much since photoshop 4 (the first photoshop version with actions around 1996/97).
You should be able to make a selection on the layer, new layer via copy, then run the action from the effects panel for a similar result as just making a selection on a layer.

PSE 11 crashes when I attempt to add a new catalog to those that already exist. No programs are running that might conflict with Organizer, and I can run other functions such as downloading photos from my camera. As soon as I attempt to add a new sub-catalog to an existing major catalog, the program crashes. I'm using Windows 7, and have tried various compatibilities, but none solves the problem. Any ideas?

How do you attempt to 'add a new catalog' or a new 'sub-catalog' ?
There are no such things as 'sub-catalogs' or catalogs included in catalog.
Catalogs are totally independent storing systems, they ignore what is managed in other catalogs.That's why it is recommended to have only one catalog, unless you have a good reason to create several ones because they are totally independent by nature (home vs professional for instance).
You can create several levels of albums, of tags categories, but not with catalogs.

PSE 6 Crashes when trying to print to Epson Stylus Photo 1400

Has anyone had an issue with PSE 6 crashing when trying to print a single photo from the Organizer? I have tried to print photos directly from the Organizer and each time I do, the application crashes. I can open the photo in the editor and print directly from the editor with no problems. It's not the printer becuase I can print from other applications to the printer. I can also print to my HP PSC 2355 with no issues. but for some reason, I cannot get the Organizer application to print to the Epson. I have uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. I have checked to see if there are any updated drivers - there are none. I'm running PSE 6 on Windows Vista 32-bit. Any suggestions what else I can try? I hate that I cannot print to my new printer!

Try deselecting the print options "EXIF Print" and "Print Image Matching". Unfortunately, the Search function of the new forums doesn't work yet for older messages, but I did find this thread cached by Google referring to a similar problem:

Acrobat 9 crashing when applying security

Acrobat 9 has suddenly started crashing when I try to apply or remove security from a doc. This has only occurred in last few days. I tried to uninstall, to re-install, but cannot uninstall, it just stops. Tried a 'repair' again it crashes Any ideas?

If your trying to do so through Reader, you need to go into Acrobat to advanced menu and choose Extend Features in Adobe Reader.
I was able to go in Acrobat 9.3.0 and file out form
Form is Okay on my screen the logo appears to be scrunched in a Little the Line are jagged as well as the text incated they were not cut down propotionally.

SG 7.1x158 crashes when applying custom look with Premier Dynamic Link

The sequence opens just fine, and I'm able to create a grade for a selected clip. However, when I save the custom look and then try to apply it to any other clip, SG crashes. Odd thing is that I've tried a couple of the example looks and they don't crash. Crash only occrus when I choose any of the custom looks I've saved.
Only workaround I see at this point is to apply the look using Lumetri in Premier, which seems to work just fine.
Anyone else run into this problem?

IPhoto Crashes When Applying Keywords

I'm currently having a problem with iPhoto 6.0.4 crashing whenever I apply a keyword to a photo.
I'd been using iPhoto for about 3 hours today doing some pretty extensive keyword management. Then the thumbnails all turned low res and the application crashed. When it restarted iPhoto told me to rebuild the thumbnail cache, so I did.
Ever since then iPhoto is crashing when I use keywords. Has anyone else seen this behaviour or have any ideas as to how I might troubleshoot?

If there are not to many of them, try the following:
1 - make a very insignificant edit to each of those files so that a modified version is created in the Modified folder.
2 - export those files, full size, to the desktop.
3 - in iPhoto delete the files.
4 - import those modified files from the desktop into iPHoto and try to add a keyword.
That may do it.

Acrobat crashes when applying redaction

PSE 12 crashes when I try to put text on a jpg (mac os)

PSE 12 now crashes when I select the text tool and go to put the text on a jpg. I'm running on Mac OS v. 10.9.2.
It happens every time. I have reloaded/installed from the disk.

Go to the editor preferences>general, and click this button, then restart the editor:
If that doesn't fix it, go to your applications folder and get out fontbook and validate your fonts. Also check for empty font folders.

FM 10 Crashing when applying conditional text tag

Hello everyone.
For some reason, FM keeps crashing when I try to apply a conditional text tag to a table (entire table). The funny thing is I have been doing this same thing for three months now with no problems before today, even have two tables in the same document with different tags applied to them and they are working fine. But when I try to add this one, I crash. I have rebooted my computer and made sure all my drivers are up to date, but now I'm at a loss. Any help?

Yes, I can apply the tag to the pictures in the document, its only when applying to the table. I am selecting all rows in the table with the mouse and then selecting the tag, clicking the radio button "in" and then clicking the "Apply" button. It then asks "apply condition tag settings to all rows in table?" I hit "ok" and then it freezes, screen shots provided.

I've deleted the settings file, and restarted my computer but it still is crashing when I try to save anything. Please help. Thanks!

Can you please try the following-
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

PSE 9 crashing when Organiser button selected.

PSE 9 crashes on opening if the Organiser icon is selected. Edit icon does not crash program. Windows states "PSE 9 Elemnts Organiser has stopped working, will look for cause/reason then closes program.

You might like to start by reseting you preferences as described in section 3 of this document

PSE 8 Crashing when attempting to open Edit programs

I am new to Adobe, and received PSE 8 in a bundle with a Bamboo tablet. I loaded it up and have been editing pictures just fine. Yesterday I downloaded and installed some actions from MCP's site and messed with a few of them. Today I downloaded and installed the MCP Facebook actions. I was able to mess around with it a bit along with some other action until after a few minutes I reveived a message from Adobe telling me that it has detected that a program closed unexpectedly and asked if I wanted to send an error report, which I have. I gave it a rest for a while but it is still crashing. I can get into the Organizer but when I attempt to go into any of the edit areas, it will load up and after a few seconds I get the message. I am using Windows 7 if that helps anyone.
If anyone knows anything about this or what I can do, yes I want to be able to use the actions, please let me know. I have a deadline approaching and clients waiting to see some images! Thanks very much for any help!

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8.0 and double click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and check out is the editor launching by this or not.
If not; remove or move the actions which you downloaded , if you have any other plugins or fonts them it might also create an issue.
Alos, try the following;
Navigate to :C:\Users\hyadav\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\Editor and rename Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Prefs.psp to Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Prefs_OLD.psp and then relaunch the editor.

Bridge crashes when applying metadata

I'm seeking guidance, but let me preface this post with some information:
CS6 via Creative Cloud
All applications up to date via Adobe Application Manager
All Windows Updates applied including drivers.
Currently running Bridge 5.0.2.4
Computer is:
Win 7 Pro (64 bit)
Core i5
12 Gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 310
I have used CS6 for months prior to this issue starting without incident.
I have tried moving the data to different drives.
I have checked/cleared/reset file permissions.
I have run drive error checks.
I have uninstalled/CC cleaner/reisntalled all Adobe products multiple times.
I have run Bridge in 32-bit and 64-bit modes.
I have tried to reset preferences and other "Ctrl" startup options.
I have tried to reset preferences and other "Ctrl" startup options after selecing "Run As Administrator".
I manually deleted the ".BridgeCache" and ".BridgeCacheT" files from the folder of photos.
Prior to this crashing problem I had already sorted and begun to apply ratings to files (Reject and Start ratings) in this folder without incident. I even applied metadata (Keywords) to a portion of the 1,321 photos in a folder without incident. The problem started when I came back the next day and started up work again. There had been no updates or restarts to the computer. The only thing that I think updated was Adobe Acrobat, but I cannot be sure. When I opened Bridge and began to apply Keywords to files the program simply locked up and immediately crashed. The Windows dialog box did not have any information or options for a crash report.
This is a normal workfolw that I utilize on a regular (weekly/monthly) basis and why the crashing is happening is beyond me. I have attempted to troubleshoot many different ways. Of particular note I when to a different folder of photos that had never been worked on before with Bridge and was able to apply the same workflow without incident.

At this time I cannot difinitively confirm that the files themselves are causing the issue but I will attempt some additional troubleshooting. At this point I'm not overly impatient because I've already lost the revenue opportunity for selling these photos to customers because the error first started several days ago (4/28/2013 09:31:35 PM was first crash). However, at this point I am will not entertain the wasting of time by uninstalling all Adobe products, running CC cleaner, and re-installing the products I use.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try for resolution or troubleshooting?

I'm wondering if it could be the SD card? Mine was a cheap brand and I wonder if the invalid handler could be the issue.
No experience with all of this, use a Mac, Canon and a CF card that I place in a Card reader and use import via Adobe Photodownloader.
But here is my question, what do you do you with the SD card when your files are copied to the system?
My workflow is to import the files (including convert to DNG and back up original Raw to second disk, renaming and copyright template)
But when I have checked my files are OK on the system and I need the CF card for a new job I always put the card back in the camera and use the camera menu itself to format the card.
I long ago stopped using the delete all function because this used to build up certain data files and that is not the case when you use format.
I do so every time and while I have used a lot of CF cards (from 128 MB in 2001 to current 32 GB Sandisk Extreme Pro UDMA 7) The only problems I had was losing them.
Never managed to break one down (not even in the washing machine…) and from about 2003 I always have used the format method for every time I needed to remove the files from the card.
I don't know much about the difference between inferior manufactures and the superior brands, I find it hard to believe that this would cause your problem alone (If you did not format I would try that first).
Having said that I would never choose to use other then top quality cards like Lexar and Sandisk and also the fastest or the nearly fastest.
If you have a cheap compact camera (but then you probably would not visit this forum…) I can image (but do not approve) you include a cheap SD card also. But spending up to 1000 dollar or much more for a nice dSLR and save money on a cheap card instead of using a trustful medium to write your precious files on is not the best workflow.
CF cards and SD card are very cheap nowadays.
To compare, the 128 MB in 2001 was about 600 dollar, the super fast and reliable Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 GB was around 200 dollars.
You can do the math yourself but on my calculator this means three times as cheap while 256 times more space…

Photoshop CC crashes when applying filters

Whenever I try to apply a filter to an image, Photoshop CC crashes with message "Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working"
It is Photoshop version 14.2 on Windows 7

Something is odd -- other users aren't seeing that sort of widespread problem.
The most filter crashing we see is from some third party filters (especially Nik/Google plugins).
If you have any third party plugins installed, you may want to try disabling them.
Beyond that, I can only guess at what might cause problems: video card driver bugs, a third party utility that modifies application behavior (some "memory optimizers" have caused similar issues), or just a corrupt install of the application.
