Published animation

Published animation (integrated into a web page) doesn't work properly first time. If I refresh browser everything works like a preview through all the browsers.
What doesn't work : Web font, text (converted to symbol) doesn't fit in a box.

Playing second time works fine.
Since, I changed file links to CDN instead of local files as follows :

Some of issues are gone, but new issues pop up. (Text are doubled, border apears on top and left, etc. etc)
Do I need to use 1.7.1 min.js and 1.5.1 edge?

Not really, but i've found it to work more consistently when i upload the entire folder, including the An file and the folder before it (e.g. if its in desktop>project>Animation folder upload the project folder). Also i've turned run time in the settings off. Hope it works for you.

PUBLISHING ANIMATED GIF FOR USE IN POWERPOINT

I have created a very very basic animation in flash and want to publish it as an animated gif to place in a powerpoint presentation. I can do this and it works ok, but there are two queries i have. I have attached the file in question.
1. When it plays the colours don't seem right, i.e. the colours flicker quite a lot.
2. I would ideally like to have a transparent background so it moves over the text and images in powerpoint. Can this be done?
Any advice on the above two points would be appreciated.

Both of these problems could be a result of the limitations of the GIF format. The maximum number of colors in a GIF is 256, often even fewer are used. I'm not sure how those colors are distributed in an animated GIF, since the limited colors might have to be distributed over multiple images. This could result in some serious color shifts could fit everything into a limited color palette.
GIFs can be transparent, but only have one level of transparency (on or off). So, depending on the shape of you image, transparency may work well, but it could also produce jagged edges. To have more control, you might want to export the sequence of images to Photoshop or Fireworks, and render the final version from there.

Publishing animated gif

I always have this problem when I try to publish an animated
gif. As my clients don´t want swf to send by mail because they
say not everyone has the plugin, I have to do a gif.
But of course it has a less possibilities: it´s a bigger
file, less quality. Two problems:
1- now the text disappears althoght I use character
embedding.
2- although I put 1 repetition (not loop) and put a STOP
inside the flash file, it´s played without stopping!
What can I do? which i the best configuration? for ex.
transparent: opaque. dither: none??? I have to solve it in 2
days!!!

Flash CC Publish Animated Gif ignores looping sequences?

I'm just learning Flash so apologies in advance.
I can't seem to get an animated gif that won't loop--I only want it to play once.
Here is what I'm doing, using Flash CC Pro (latest):
Create an .fla file, all set to go, looks good
Go to Publish Settings, target is set to Flash Player 11.8, unchecked everything but GIF Image
Inside there, playback is set to "animated"
Repeat times, set to 1
Smooth is checked.
Have tried adding an action script to one layer after researching that trick, doesn't seem to work. Animation does have symbols as movie clips inside it.

One thing you may want to look at is the way your symbols are being triggered on the timeline. For example: you have an image of a ball bouncing, it goes down then up over the course of 30 frames and you are playing the FLA at 15 FPS so it takes a full two seconds per "bounce". If you are then putting that symbol into another timeline (probably the main timeline) you need to give the instance of that symbol the full 30 frames to go through the bounce before it stops, but if you give it 31 frames or forget to put a stop() command on the last frame, the sequence will repeat before clearing the stage.
I would look at how you have positioned the object that is being looped in the main timeline and remember that with each keyframe you add to the timeline the animation will restart from the beginning. Imagine the bouncing ball graphic is a video clip of a ball bouncing and not a collection of vectors being repositioned on the stage. Every time you have a keyframe on the symbol of the video on the main timeline, the video restarts and appears to loop. The same may be happening with your animation on the timeline.

Page/ published animation works on Hd, not on web. Due today and i can't get it to load no matter what host/method i use.

Hi there, My animation works perfectly both within the Edge application preview and by opening the html file locally, but when i host it i just get a white page. I've uploaded all folders in the selected publish directory (images etc...) to multiple hosts.
When opened up with console in chrome, i get these two errors:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier
2288335530.html:14 Uncaught ReferenceError: AdobeEdge is not defined
When clicking on edge.5.0.1.min.js:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier it says: The specified file doesn't exist.

How to publish Animation in html 5 with flash CC

I am using Flash CC trial version and want to export AS3 animations in HTML5. I have gone through this tutorial :

and tried in Flash CC was shown in the tutorial, but I am not able to export even a small animation with a box moving from one side to another. Only static flash work gets exported in canvas but even simple button or simplest animation is difficult to export into HTML5.
I don't know where I am going wrong.
I created a simple animation of a box going from left to right in AS3 with classic tween and used convert AS3 to HTML5 canvas option and published it to (dot)js format.But animations are not working for me, it shows a blank html page. And i always get errors in output saying Ease CS animation starts from frame 0 where as flash from frame 1.
Please help.

How do you stop published animation speeds scaling with duration?

I'm working on a title effect in Motion 5 for Final Cut Pro X 10.0.1.
It's working very well - apart from the fact that if I change the duration of the Title, it changes the speed of movement of my text. This makes it difficult for users of the effect in Final Cut make the animation speed consistent between various instances of the title. It also means that if tech specs define specific speed in pixels per second, there's no way of setting such values in parameters published in Final Cut Pro X effects.
It currently uses a Throw behaviour - I've published the Throw velocity.
Does anyone know of a different behaviour or animation method that doesn't scale with the length of the generator. Ramp and Rate parameter behaviours don't work (they are time scaled). I can't use keyframes because they scale with time too.

I fixed this by using adding a 'Project Loop End' marker to the end of the effect!
I thought this sort of marker was only needed to prevent clips being time scaled...

Symbols disappear when I view the published animation in Firefox

I created a rich media ad using Edge Animate. I published it and tested it on Firefox, Chrome and Safari. It appears fine on Chrome and Safari but when I view the expanded portion in Firefox all of the symbols on the main stage disappear. Any idea why? Looking at the source code it is all still there, it just isn't showing up. Please help!

I have found a display solution but it isn't the most elegant. Basically the only way the frame would display correctly is if it was reloaded WHILE visible on the screen. I added the following function and then called it when the toggle function was called:

It blips the wrong background for a split second and then reloads the frame correctly. It is not ideal but it functions. If someone out there can find a solution that doesn't have the blip I am all ears.

Issue when adding Published Animations

Hello, have finished all of my animated buttons for my site. I have exported them and can get them to load.
I am having a strange issue however. After the first and second buttons are inserted the other three start to just stack on the second button. Do to the responsive layout, I would like to contain the edge buttons in my divs with the id of "buttons" which keeps them evenly spaced and centered.

just a thought ... if this is happening everytime .. how much chances we have that the ISO/DVD you are using is not having the script/powershell corrupted and that doesnt get installed/configured when you run the setup and then you do this manually... just
checking if this can be possibility.. can you make a new ISO/DVD from the fresh download from Microsoft and run the setup again.

Won't review or publish animated backround...ONLY BLACK!

HELP: the v screen looks good with the VIDEO BACKROUND but after recording it reviews back with out the backround!! it only has the greenscreen OR a black backround....I am familiar with the product as VC2 worked well for me...but I can't seem to get this to playback properly.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
Personally, since it's only two weeks old, I would contact Apple next. 800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. However, if you wish to investigate further on your own, keep reading.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Publish + Animation does not run

Creating a simple web banner.
Made 2 states: 1st state beginning - 2nd state where i want to end (total of 3 sec transition)
Select both states and do a smooth transtion with text fade in.
Made background into a button to take you to advertised website.
Really simple, right?
When I run project, the background shows up, no transition images appear but the background is an active button.
So its a blank background buttton, what gives? What am I missing?
Any help would be great.

State to state transitions need some form of a trigger event, usually a click on an button or other component. There is a special interaction called "On Application Start" that might solve your problem.

How do I make the stage transparent when published?

Hi. I'm new to flash and want to work towards making 2D animations.
I want to take a simple published animation and put it into SONY VEGAS. However, I only want the character (I've created a symbol for it) and not the big white stage. My goal is to get the animated character on top of all my sony vegas layers, but the stage is blocking all the other layers. Is there some kind of setting that can make the stage transparent when publishing as a SWF?

you need to add some markup to your html:
add <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to your <object> tag and add wmode="transparent" to the <embed> tag
the feature isn't supported by all browsers and it may cause your swf to slow down a bit if there's a lot going on visually.

Publishing to an animated gif does not seem to work properly

I want to export a portion of my .fla movie clip into an animated .gif (the logo part). So I changed the publish settings to output to .gif. and made sure the 'animated' box was checked. When I publish, it does output to a .gif file, but it is not animated at all and the colors are not correct which makes the text unreadable. It almost seems like it's outputted a single frame of the movie. It definitely does not look like a proper output. When I change the output back to .swf and publish, it turns out just fine and it's animated with all the desired effects. Does anyone have any idea why this is?
I would hate to have to find a program to convert my .swf to .gif. If I have to do that, does anyone recommend a good program for it?

I believe you are correct, I tried to place the same animated gif outside of the spry region
and it also did not animate until the xml (approximately 500 records) loaded and completed displaying.
Once the xml loaded, the gif outside of the spry region started to animate.
So how then could you display some sort of animated loading indication?

Need help with publishing as animated .gif

I'm having trouble publishing my project as an animated .gif. My project, which consists of two different animated movie clips, plays just fine when test it (Shift + Enter). But, when I go to publish it, the animations don't show up. The settings are exactly the same as with my other animated .gifs.
Any suggestions???

If you try to 'publish' as an app, and you use the words ebook or just book, the review teams are likely to reject and tell you to do a book instead, so be prepared to not call it any type of book and to deliver something that showcases the device and iOS as best as you can if you take that route...it's non-trivial, mostly, so be prepared to learn any skills you may not have yet need going in.
Look at the book 'Yellow Submarine' for what I consider a good example of a standard epub w/m'media. it can be done, but as noted, iBA is iPad only, so....good luck.
