Publishing Web Services from NWDS in PI 7.4

Dear All,
We have a scenario where we publish a Web Service to be consumed by a 3rd party which in turn calls an ABAP proxy for an acknowledgement (Synchronous Call).
I have followed the various bloggs and SCN discussion points and have published a Web Service to the Service Registry by generating a Java Bean Skeleton from the Service Interface in NWDS.
I have generated an Integration Flow (simple Point to Point using a SOAP Sender and HTTP_AAE Receiver to the Proxy) and deployed it on the Integration Server. All OK at this point
The problem I have is that when I try and test the deployed Service through WS Navigator, the Proxy isn't called and I get a blank Response from the Web Service call. We don't have the option to use a SOAP Test Client (like SOAP UI) due to security reasons.
Could anyone give me some pointers as to why this isn't working.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark -
Go to Integration Directory(swing client)-> open the corresponding ICo -> from the menu item (Integrated Configuration) -> select the option "Display Wsdl".
Use that URL to test your web service.

    I had the same problem this morning. You need to add a line to the HTTP header to declare a value for SOAPAction.
    You can set this as an empty string, but for some reason it is required.
    Try adding this among your header declarations:
    utl_http.set_header(req, 'SOAPAction', '');

  • Calling BI Publisher Web Services from APEX

    Hi,
    Has anyone been able to run a BI Publisher report from APEX using the Web Service interface provided by BI Publisher?
    I have created Web Service Reference in APEX using:
    http://<host>:<port>/xmlpserver/services/PublicReportService?wsdl
    I have then created a page rendering process that calls the web service, in particular calling the runReport operation.
    When a try and run the page, I get the following error:
    "ORA-20001: soapenv:Server.userExceptionjava.lang.NullPointerException"
    Basically I want to be be able to call the BI Pub report and view the output straight away.
    Appreciate any help.
    Cheers,
    Matt

    Hello,
    I am using Jason's flex_ws_api and I have built an application that uses the BI Publisher web services to runReports. My service request looks like this (example)
    <pre>
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:pub="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/service/PublicReportService">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <pub:runReport>
    <pub:reportRequest>
    <pub:attributeFormat>pdf</pub:attributeFormat>
    <pub:attributeLocale></pub:attributeLocale>
    <pub:attributeTemplate>New Template 1</pub:attributeTemplate>
    <pub:flattenXML>1</pub:flattenXML>
    <pub:parameterNameValues/>
    <pub:reportAbsolutePath>/~rdpatric/Training/whoami/whoami.xdo</pub:reportAbsolutePath>
    <pub:reportData></pub:reportData>
    <pub:reportDataFileName></pub:reportDataFileName>
    <pub:sizeOfDataChunkDownload>10000</pub:sizeOfDataChunkDownload>
    </pub:reportRequest>
    <pub:userID>user</pub:userID>
    <pub:password>password</pub:password>
    </pub:runReport>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    </pre>
    Obviously you would want to make a lot of these things variables...this is just an example...also sizeOfChunkDownload wasn't working for me at -1...idk...maybe it was something else...
    Also if you use the flex_ws_api...you need to specify the namespace for your xpath statement ie.' xmlns="http://..."'
    I am currently working on getting this working with the 'inSession' webservices as we have BI Pub set up SSO and APEX set up SSO so i need to be able to call the web services inSession...only problem is ssoCreateSession returns a 500 error and no xml...entered a TAR for this...sorry to digress. Use the above code and you should be able to get the runReport working.

  • Problem calling a web Service from BI Publisher (10.1.3.2 )

    We have published a PL/SQL Web Service (from Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ) into a SOA Suite server.
    As requirements from BI Publisher , we chose Document/Literal, SOAP 1.1.
    The Program Unit accept an input parameter (we tried NUMBER & STRING)
    The result is an XML formatted (PL/SQL functions returns a CLOB then converted as a String).
    When testing the Service call from the SOA Suite console, no problems.
    We declined a page with APEX to test this Web Service too : Test is OK
    We added this web service as a data source in BI Publisher :
    After typing WSDL URL, Method, Parameter
    After testing , we do not get the XML result but an error message, coming from Apache AXIS (seems to be the DynamicInvoker) :
    not know how to convert '50740' into org.apache.axis.client.Call@cd7fdb
    Our demo is very near to this example : http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/11/01#a123
    and the one from the BI Publisher documentation

    I can't say I know the answer but I wanted to share a thought on debugging the issue. Like you I am seeing an axis error for a parameter on a web service I know works. I can call it using BPEL, SoapUI, etc... I suspect that perhaps BI pub is having trouble interpreting the WSDL for the web service. Specifically, I suspect that since I have imported schemas in the WSDL and nested imports in the supporting XSD files, the process is getting confused. The request message is fairly simple with three optional parameters but the WSDL does use an import via the WSDL. I wanted to share this since this problem often comes up with various tooling and I am lacking time to work out a test case to prove this theory out any time soon. I will try to post once I find some time to test this theory but it may be a while. Reading the results of someone else's test would be just as good!

    I don't have the problem with the second arugument, using essentially the same command as yours. Could you make sure you clean up the following subdirectories and retry:
    ear query.ear src war
    My guess is that the leftover subdirectories in your previous run are playing game with you. You can simplify leftover management by specifying -output setting.

  • Creatin Web Service in NWDS 7.0 to handle WSDL from PI 7.1

    Hi all,
    I created in PI 7.1 a service interface in ESR with following details:
    Name:                         iaBillerDirect
    Namespace:               http://corpintra.net/pi/CBFC_GLOBAL_SAP_APPL/BillerDirect
    used message type:  BillerDirectMessage
    Operation:                  iaBillerDirect
    In NWDS 7.01 I first tried to build a web service based on the WSDL of the service interface. But unfortunately, NWDS does not have any possibility to create a web service based on a WSDL. (NWDS 7.1 has - but not NWDS 7.0)
    So I created an EJB on my own. Here I created a java class "net.corpintra.pi.cbfc_global_sap_appl.billerdirect.BillerDirectMessage" which I used as Datatype for new created EJB "net.corpintra.pi.cbfc_global_sap_appl.billerdirect.IaBillerDirect".
    I added a business method "iaBillerDirect(net.corpintra.pi.cbfc_global_sap_appl.billerdirect.BillerDirectMessage billerDirectMessage)" to my EJB and created a web service based on this.
    (The class Biller Direct Message has the same internal structure as the message type on PI.)
    When I delpoy the Web Service to the SAP J2EE 7.0 I can test the web service successfully in Web Service Navigator.
    When I now create according objects in PI Integration Builder and send a test message via PI to the web service I get following error:
    An error occurred while processing the message security. Reason: com.sap.engine.interfaces.webservices.runtime.OperationNotFoundException Found 0 operation definitions using keys: Key name:'first-body-element-ns' key value:'http://corpintra.net/pi/CBFC_GLOBAL_SAP_APPL/BillerDirect'; Key name:'SoapRequestWrapper' key value:'BillerDirectMessage'; . See trace entry no trace for com.sap.security.core.server.ws.service.ServerSecurityProtocol (severity above PATH).
    Can you please advice why I get this error trying to reach the web service via PI? How can I fix this?
    Or is there even a good solution how to create a web service in NWDS 7.0 (based on Eclipse 2.1.2) based on a WSDL?
    regards
    René

  • Error calling web service from Viusal Composer

    Hello:
    I'm accessing entity services methods published as web services from a composite application from Visual Composer. I'm using version 7.0 SR3 SP15.
    Iu2019m able to access create and read methods from entities services. But from same getAll() methods  Iu2019m getting access error. When I execute the same getAll() method from u201CWeb Service Navigatoru201D it works ok. But from Visual Composer itu2019s not working.  That happens only for same entities for others itu2019s working ok.
    From VC Iu2019m able to select the WDSL and use I in the iViews. The other methods of the iView works ok except for the getAll.
    I have already set the options of VC to not keep a cache of web services definition and review and recreate the system in portal landsacape and teh related alias to access the web services. I have laso checked te user and password in the mapping.
    Thabk you in advance for your help.
    Regards.

    Hello:
    Using the infprmation in the link that you pass me I was able to look into the log files and see what the problem is.
    The getAll service as it is geerated by NWDS receive an input paramter:
    queryFilter (test.types.p1.GetAllQueryFilter)
    In VC when I drop the getAll method from the corresponding service data into the working area. That input parameters doesn't apper aonly the output parameter.
    Then when I execute or test that service. The portal is giving an error:
    Full Message Text
    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.additions.soaphttp.exceptions.ProcessException: Cannot find the required parameter [queryFilter] in request message
    But that parameters was never recognized by VC.
    Thank you in advance for your help again.

  • Parse errors while creating a Web service from Java class!

    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create a Web Service from java class where the input from user is required ?
    I have the following program, which is successfully compiled, but when I'm trying to make a web service in JDeveloper, the following error occurs:
    "Validation failed.
    The implementation class primePackage.isPrime ofport type MyWebService contains parse errors."
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    class isPrime
    public static void main (String args[])
    Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in);
    int n;
    System.out.println ("Enter a number you want to know is it prime or not");
    n=reader.nextInt();
    if (isPrime(n))
    System.out.println ("True");
    else
    System.out.println ("False");
    static boolean isPrime (int n)
    int i=2;
    while (i<=n-1)
    if (n%i==0)
    return false;
    i++;
    return true;
    }

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create
    a Web Service from java class where the input from
    user is required ?Yes, the parameters of your method will be mapped in WSDL.
    But i've some considerations about your code.
    I suggest you change the name of isPrime do Prime, its a good code convention to put the name of class starting with Upper case. and isn't good the name of class equals to name of method.
    I suggest you to change the "static boolean isPrime (int n)" to "public boolean isPrime(int n)" to publish a method as a WebService method it's must be public and not static. After this change try to generate your Web Service.
    Regards.

  • Calling a Web Service from Mobile - UI options

    Hi Team,
    I have a scenario where the backend SAP functionality is exposed as a web service and we need to call it online from a mobile handheld device (Symbol with Pocket PC client 2003, IE browser 4.0). Is it possible to call this web service from the handheld? Do we have to write the web service call on the J2EE stack using NetWeaver developer studio?
    Also, what UI technology is recommended for showing the data from the web service call. The idea is to get some user input on the handheld, and then post a transaction via the web service on SAP. I discussed with some of my colleagues and they recommend to use JSP/Servlets for this. Does anybody has a better idea, (the JSP/Servlets does not seem correct). Should we use native XSLT or something else.
    Please note that the Mobile Web Dynpro has limitations on the UI side and the "onEnter", "setFocus" does not work, specifically on the netweaver 2004s release. The backend ERP system we have is 2004s and I'm trying to make a web service call from a NW 2004 client.
    Any ideas or pointers will be appreciated and points awarded. Thanks for your time.

    Hi Sanjay!
    Yes, To call a WebService you will have to write your Own Application using NWDS.I donot have any specific recommendation for the UI Technology to be used.
    Usage of "OnEnter" and "SetFocus" with NW2004s has certain limitations below.
    "OnEnter" is not a supported feature as of now especially for WD applications on Handheld Devices.
    "SetFocus" will work on IE6.0 Standard Desktop Browser with WAS7.0 SP06 and i believe it will work in hand held devices if your using WAS7.0(NW2004s)SP8 and you are using the latest Symbol Device that has Windows Mobile 5.0 OR Windows CE.NET 5.0.I understand that there could be some limitations with the OS and the IE you are currently running in the device.
    Let me know your views.
    Thank You

  • Any difference in creating a web service from a java class or session bean?

    Hi,
    The JDeveloper tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/devdepandmanagingws/devdepandmanagingws.htm demonstrates creating a web service from a plain java class. I'm wondering:
    - Is it possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean instead of a java class? If so, what's the proper way to do this in JDeveloper? When I tried doing so in JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 (SU5) using the J2EE Web Service wizard, the wizard did not list the session bean in the Component To Publish dropdown (it does list any java classes available in the project). I can proceed by manually typing in the name of the session bean. After the wizard completes though, the @Stateless annotation that had been in my session bean class code is removed and replaced by a @WebService annotation. The end result is that it looks like it made no difference whether I had tried to create the web service from a session bean or plain java class as the annotations in the resulting web service code are the same (although if I had started from a session bean, the class for the web service still implements the Local/Remote EJB interface that the session bean originally implemented).
    - Assuming it's possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean, is there any advantage/disadvantage creating a web service from a java class vs a stateless session bean? I'm creating the web service from scratch so I also need to either build the java class or stateless session bean the web service would be based on from scratch too.
    Thanks for any ideas about this.

    Hi,
    EJB Session beans (EJB 3.0) are deployed as WebServices by annotating the class with @WebService and the methds with @WebMethod (both tags require you to add the JSR-181 library to your project (available in the JDeveloper list of libraries)). Unlike the J2E WebService, the EJB session bean service is turned into a WebService upon deployment. This means you obtain teh WSDL file after deployment
    - Assuming it's possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean, is there any advantage/disadvantage creating a web service from a java class vs a stateless session bean?
    The difference is that EJB Session bean based web services are integrated with the J2EE container, which means that they can leverage container services like transaction handling, data sources, security, JMS etc.

  • Support for Creating Web Service from pl/sql package in JDeveloper 11

    We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our existing package to web services with Jdev.
    Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

    Hi,
    there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
    First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
    Use the xmldb servlets
    use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
    And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
    thanks Edwin

  • Errors calling oracle web service from pl/sql

    Oracle application server version 10.1.2.2.0
    Jdeveloper version 10.1.2.1.0
    I have published a function of an oracle database package as a web service using jdeveloper by creating a connection to my database and right clicking on the package and selecting publish as a web service. I accepted all the defaults and deployed the web service to my application server also using jdeveloper. I have been able to invoke the web service from the url which was generated.
    I now want to invoke this web service from another pl/sql procedure in the same database as the function I've published as a web service using the utl_dbws facility but get the following error
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException: No Deserializer found to deserialize a 'http://fujibox09/FinalTestWS-Project-context-root/FinalTestWS/:p_group_id' using encoding style 'null'. [java.lang.IllegalArgumentException]
    I have amended the wsdl to look like this
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>

    Hi,
    On way we can call a web service is to pass the Web Service URL to UTL_HTTP package:
    Sample Web Service URL
    ===================
    lv_url :=
    'http://67.97.189.151:8888/plsqlsample/dbfunc?invoke=placeOrder'
    || '&'
    || 'param0=1'
    || '&'
    || 'param1=1'
    || '&'
    || 'param2=1';
    Sample Call using UTL_HTTP
    =====================
    SELECT UTL_HTTP.request (lv_url)
    INTO lv_result
    FROM DUAL;
    Thank you.

  • Error creating a web service in NWDS SP18.

    Hello,
      I created a web service DC. It works fine when I test this with Web Services Navigator. I get the output as expected. But when I test it with Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker in NWDS, I get this error:
    "The SOAP Message returned is not well formed
    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: Unable to create message from source"
    When I tried creating a web service using a simple J2EE-->EJB Module project, added to an EAR project and deployed, I see the same error. In both cases am able to successfully test on Web Services Navigator...
    Any body let me know how to create a web service in NWDS SP 18...
    Thanks

  • Top down approach for creating the web services in NWDS 7.1

    I am trying to develop a web service in top down approach.
    1) I created a Dynamic web project.
    2) Created a WSDL File using the WSDL Graphic editor.
    3) Now i am trying to create the Webservice from the WSDL file ,  i am getting the following error
    The SAP Netweaver Web service runtime does not support the service project type Dynamic Web Project.
    How do i created the web service from here on.
    Regards
    ABS

    In NWDS 7.1 i used to create webservice.I followed the process given in sap help.
    steps:
    1.      In the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, you create an EJB Project and an enterprise application project for the Web service.
    2.      In the EJB Project, you create an EJB Session Bean 3.0 and implement the business logic of the Web service.
    3.      You expose the EJB Session Bean 3.0 as a Web service, using the Web service wizard in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
    4.    You deploy the Web service endpoint on the application server.
    Thanks,
    Murthy.
