"Purchased" playlist missing music

I accidentially deleted the purchased playlist.I purchased something and got the purchased playlist back except all the purchased music is missing from the playlist, is there a way to put all my purchased music back into the playlist?

Click on the *Date Added* column.
If 'Date Added' isn't showing, either right-click on the column headers bar and select it,
or
itunes menu > View > View Options and check the Date Added box.
If the little triangle is pointing down by the words date added, the most recent additions will be at the top. If the triangle is pointing up, oldest additions will be at the top.

  • Purchased playlist missing off iphone

After a wifi sync last week, my purchased playlist has disappeared from my iphone, but still present in itunes. I have searched for answers and still havent found a solution. I have tried creating a smart playlist and that hasnt worked. I have also tried to purchase songs on the iphone is hopes it would recreate the playlist, but still no purchased playlist has popped up. Does anyone know how to get my playlist back? Thanks!

    - create a new playlist (eg purchased2) and copy ALL music from Purchased into the new Purchased2 playlist
    - delete the original Purchased playlist
    - download a free track from iTunes Store, iTunes will create a new playlist purchased
    - copy and paste (ctrl v ctrl c way) the songs from purchased 2 to the newly created Purchased
    - sync your iDevice and you should be sorted!
There must be an issue with the old smart playlist. Creating a fresh one and copying the music over seems to fix it?

  • ITunes Purchased Playlist missing tunes

    Hi,
The purchased playlist in Itunes is missing a few tunes. They are in my Library, just not in my purchased playlist. On the purchased menu on my Apple TV all of the items that I have purchsed are there. How can I get the purchased playlist in Itunes to be identical to this.
Thanking you in all in advance
    Greg Simms

You can just drag it in there. In fact, you can drag anything in there. It's just a regular playlist and end users can change it anyway they want.

  • Purchased Playlist missing purchases

    Hi,
My wife's iPhone 5s started this, migrated to her 6 after she bought it.  Also now my iPhone 5s does the same thing.
When my wife purchases a song from iTunes on her phone, does not matter if on WiFi or LTE, it is random if it shows up in the Purchased playlist.  Sometimes it does, sometimes more often than not it does not appear.  However if you look under Album or Artist, it downloaded.  I realize Apple puts the song at the BOTTOM of the playlist when it should be at the TOP(Also it puts albums in reverse order, are you listening APPLE???).
It used to be when she bought a song or two, they downloaded to my phone as well as we share a single Apple ID for iTunes purchases.  I have it set to auto download purchases for music, as does she on her phone if I should buy.  That part works fine, just randomly it will not put it on the Purchased playlist.  I have seen others complain of this same issue.  Anyone else have a solution.  Seemed to start with iOS 7.x

I also have the same thing happening to me now. What i did was..
    1. I let the iTunes Match to be ON inside my iPhone.
    2. I logged out from my iTunes account through Settings -> Store -> Click your own apple ID
    3. I waited for a few seconds.
    4. I logged back in into my iTunes account.
    5. The purchased playlist is now there!
P/S :  If you are having a problem with greyed out songs inside your iPhone, you could also use this method. It works for me and i i hope it do work on yours as well.
    xoxo

  • ITunes purchases Playlist missing

Hi, Bought a new MacBookPro after previous one was damaged. My list of purchases from itunes is missing despite authorising etc. All purchases are recorded on my Apple account but wont show on screen. Has anyone come across similar?

Got the same problem. iMac died (after less than 18 months!) and Apple replced logic board. Apple adviser told me that to recover all my itunes purchases all I had to do was log in to my itunes account and they would be pulled off their server. This hasn't happened.

  • Missing Playlist & Missing Music

    Hi there.
I have ipad2 that on the latest ios 8.x, and itunes on the latest version (12.x) as well.
Last night I've tried to transfer some music from my mac to the ipad, and it didn't work. I've dragged and dropped few playlist to my ipad, as well as several albums. In the itunes it showed all 3 playlists listed under the ipad, but on the ipad itself they were nowhere to be found. The same goes for music. None of it got transferred whatsoever.
In the itunes it showed something "waiting ....," but it wasn't doing anything for an hour and I unplugged it, and plugged it back. Nothing helped. While ipad is lugged and when i browse it in itunes those 3 set lists are there, not visible on the ipad itself, and songs are like ghosts in there. By ghosts, I mean that each of them have a blank circle next to the song number.
    I manually transfer my music.
Does anyone know what's happening, and how can I form my ipad to receive my music and play lists from my itunes?
    Thanks.
    E

Did you copy the \Music\iTunes\ folder from your old computer to your new computer? That's what you need to do.

  • I am missing music I've purchased and my playlists keep disappearing

I am missing music I've purchased and my playlists keep disappearing. The folders are there but empty. Need help

Hey Steve, I took it to the icore south africa and they tried that but it didn't work, then they did a complete reset but unfortunately they cannot restore the machine since it keeps restarting every 2 minutes while doing the restore.
They said to me that the machine needs to be replace but they cannot replace it as it was not bought in South Africa. Is there some way or place I can contact in the US that I can ship the item back to and get it fixed or replaced ?

  • Missing purchases, playlists, recently played, recently added, etc

After opening iTunes today, all of my new purchases(last 3 or 4 months)are gone. The icons for recently added, recently played, playlists, and everything else in the lower section are gone. I tried a few of the suggestions like looking in the recycle bin, and searching my computer for the files didn't do anything. I also re installed iTunes to no avail...

The default playlists are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
    "90s"
Match the rule "Year">"is in the range">"1990">to>"1999"
    You can do 50s, 60s, 70s & 80's by adjusting the range
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Top 25 Played:
Uncheck the "Match the following rule" box
Then check "Limit to">"25">"Songs">selected by "Most often played"
    Recently Played:
Uncheck the "Match the following rule" box
Then check "Limit to">"25">"Songs">selected by "Most recently played" make the "limit to" to suit yourself.
    Top Rated:
Match the rule "My Rating">"is">"5 Stars" You can make that as many stars as you like from 1 to 5. Or you can make your rule "My Rating">"is greater than">"3 Stars" for example.
    Video:
Match the rule "Video Kind">"Is">"Music Video" You can also have Movie or TV Show
For all of these also check the box "Live Updating"
If your purchases are definitely gone and if you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod, the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • Music that I have already bought won't show up in iTunes - no purchased playlist

I have an iPhone 4s, I have bought almost 70 songs from iTunes previously and they show up ina purchased playlist on my phone, but when I try to download them they keep on saying downoad error, tap to retry, and they wont play in my library.
Besides that, I can't get my purchased songs to show up in iTunes either, there is no purchased option in my playlists.
I'm signed in to the same account that i purchased the songs from.
Everything should be working fine and it's not.

  • Hard drive on my MacBook, iTunes was not backed up. Purchases were recovered, but missing music is trapped on other devices (iPad, iPod & iPhone). Is there a way to transfer music from these devices (esp. iPhone & iPad) to MacBook?

I had to replace my hard drive on my MacBook and iTunes was not backed up. All of our purchases were recovered, but we are missing music that we now have only on other devices (iPad, iPod and iPhone). Is there a way to recover music from these devices? Also, the missing music on the MacBook that is on the iPhone is greyed out so I can't play it. What's the deal? How can I change that?
BTW- I am going to purchase an external hard drive to make sure this never happens again. I'm am also discovering other missing very valuable data. I'm considering investing in iMatch, too.

    Try PhoneView: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
iTunes Match is not a backup strategy. Do not rely upon it for disaster recovery. For that you need to use Time Machine or "clone" software.

  • Having trouble adding purchased and imported music to my playlists

I'm having trouble adding purchased and imported music to my play lists. For example when I purchase or import new music to my playlists I have to re sync my ipod or the new songs don't appear on my playlists. Perhaps this is because I once unplugged my ipod w/out first disconnecting it. Previously when I purchased and imported music songs would appear on my play lists when I dragged them from purchased to playlist.

Remember to authorise your new machine with the Apple ID
Essentially copy the itunes folder and all sub folders over to the same place in the new computer.
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
    Windows Vista: C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
    Windows 7: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
    Windows 8: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

  • Why are only 2 songs missing from my Purchased playlist?

here's another weird missing purchased song issue: in itunes on left side under store, there is the pre-set purchased playlist with the right click menu with the entry to check for available downloads - it is showing 90 songs. Same as on my iPhone's purchased playlist. Here is the problem - I created a new smart playlist per the previous discussions here and it is showing 92 songs - I went onto my account to check the itunes store and the 92 songs are there and the 92 songs are also downloaded to my itunes library on my PC. Not one of them is hidden - I have others hidden but not these 2. they are not in the cloud, they have been downloaded to both PC and phone and they will appear in other playlists and play fine. For some reason, the pre-set Purchased playlist under the store menu is not picking up that these 2 songs were purchased but my smart playlist is! Both are on the same account ID, one from 2013 and one from just last month!  This is clearly an issue with certain flag not being set in a database somewhere, but why just these two?  It is not affecting my ability to sync or play these songs since I have them in my new smart playlist - just an odd thing that makes me wonder why and if it can be corrected. ooops - this is PC iTunes not Mac - can't change it - sorry!

    Hi Pugs lover,
If you are missing songs from an album but the iTunes Store is showing those tracks as Purchased, you may want to see if it will allow you to redownload them. You may find the following article helpful:

  • Ios7 - purchased music not showing up in purchased playlist!?!

I found recently that music that I purchase either on my computer or on my phone does not automatically show up on my purchased playlist?  Any ideas as to why this is occuring or how to fix it?

The Purchased Music folder isn't a smart playlist.
To find all your Purchased Music, forget about the list in the Shopping Cart and create a Smart Playlist whose sole criteria is:
    Kind contains protected AAC
Tick the 'Live updating' box and click OK. That Smart Playlist will then show you all your purchased music, regardless of how you bought it.

  • I am downloading music from itunes it shows on my purchased playlist but when i try to transfer it onto a specific playlist it won't transfer across what do i need to do

i am downloading music from itunes it shows on my purchased playlist but when i try to transfer it onto a specific playlist it won't transfer across what do i need to do

When you are viewing the tracks on the hard disc, did you then click on "Import CD"?  This is needed to initiate the importing process that will add the tracks to your library.

  • I bought an album on my iPhone and it never transferred to my iTunes account. It has disappeared now and I'm not allowed to buy it again. How can I find my missing music album or have the option to purchase it again?

I bought an album on my iPhone and it never transferred to my iTunes account. It has disappeared now and I'm not allowed to buy it again. How can I find my missing music album or have the option to purchase it again?

    Hello bubblegirl2,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your purchased album.
First, I recommend trying to download the album from you list of past purchases.  Use the steps in the section titled "Download previous purchases on Mac or PC > iTunes Store" in the following article:
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you have tried those steps and still do not see the album, it may be that the album is hidden.  Follow the steps below in iTunes on your computer to check if it is hidden and unhide it:
    To unhide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign in.
Choose Store > View My Account. (You may be asked to enter your password again).
On your Account Information summary, scroll down to the "iTunes in the Cloud" section and click Manage.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top.
Click the Unhide button next to the item you would like to restore.
Note: If the item you are unhiding is not already downloaded on your computer locally, it will begin downloading automatically.
