Pushing password to all managed resources - OIM 11g R2

I have a multiple resources I'm managing in OIM. We have AD authentication enabled for user's to log into OIM. When a user changes the password, I would like to change it in all resources. I'm planning on having an event handler to push the password to all resources. Is there another way to do this?
When a user is changing his/her own password, they have an option to select the resource they want to change the password. Is there a way to hide those other resources from the drop-down? So the drop-down will only have Oracle Identity Manager.

  • Role management in OIM 11g.

    Hi All,
    I am working on OIM 11g PS1.
    In this I want to give some of the users in OIM ability to manage the roles in OIM and view and modify the role and role membership.
    For this the simplest way is to add the user to role 'Role Administrators'.
    Now when I login with user, then this user is able to modify the role, view hierarchy, view and modify membership rule, Data Object permissions but when clicks on 'Members' tab then it throws the error and does not show the members and same error comes when it tries to assign new users in role.
    The same behavior happens for the role owner as well. When the role owner of a role logs in and try to view the members of its own role the same things happens. I have pasted the error below:
    Please suggest if anyone else has come across this issue and is there any step that I may be missing in my configuration.
    The error that comes on GUI:
    "ADF_FACES-60097: For more information, please serr the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #8"
    Error in Weblogic logs:

    Hi,
    I found the resolution for this, so I thought I would share it here with everyone.
    I role owners or any user in role "Role Administrators" were not able to view the members of the role though they had the authorization policies enabled and everything setup.
    To enable the view of role membership please follow the steps below:
    1. Login as XELSYSADM
    2. Goto Administration and search for the org which the users are assigned to
    3. Open the org details
    4. Click "Administrative Roles"
    5. Click "Assign"
    6. Choose either "ALL USERS" or your role which you created, set the permissions as you wish and click "Assign"
    This will really solve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Sneha.

  • How to execute vb script with out using Remote manager in oim 11g r2

    Hi Currently,
    i have a requirement to execute  vb script (present on a remote machine in which connector server is installed) from oim machine while using Exchange connector (11.1.1.6).
    This can be achieved by using remote manager,but i dont want to use remote manager.
    Hence decided to use Action scripts.
    As per connector configuration,
    i have configured Action scripts in Lookup.Exchange.UM.Configuration lookup definition, by means of three entries
    After Create Action Language      Shell
    After Create Action Target           Resource
    After Create Action File              /home/scripts/Disable.bat
    Disable.bat has the following ,
    Powershell.exe -File C:\scripts\Setup.vbs
    -%Log on Name%
      Exit
    As Setup.vbs is expecting a parameter of log on name, i was providing the same.
    But while creating the user,as this script gets called, getting the following error and hence 'create User' is getting failed.
    Problem while PowerShell execution System.Management.Automation.RemoteException: This task does not support recipients of this type. The specified recipient XXXXXXXXXXX...XXXXX is of type UserMailbox. Please make sure that this recipient matches the required recipient type for this task.
    While provisioning the user to Exchange , i have selected 'Recepient type' as 'User Mail box' explicitly, but still getting the error.
    Please provide any pointers to resolve the issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Kumar

    As far as I know Oracle and MySQL are two different products.
    Why do you clutter an Oracle forum with MySQL questions?
    If MySQL is such a tremendous RDBMS, like many people state (as 'free' means per definition better),
    why don't you visit a MySQL forum where fellow MySQL aficionados can answer you MySQL questions?
    In short, why don't you stop abusing Oracle forums?

  • Reconciliation: push updates from an OpenLDAP into OIM 11g

    Hello everyone ,
    Is there in the latest OIM a "push" connector that would allow a reconciliation process (ie inward flow into OIM) starting from an OpenLDAP directory system?
    Thanks,
    Nikos

    Yeah, you're right, unfortunately we have dual authorative password model, where a user can change the password from OIM when he is accessing a OIM through a web interface or from his Windows machine through the domain controller. We need the use case to work fully both ways ideally.
    A plan-B solution is to use a directory synchronization mechanism outside of OIM that would connect OID and AD, but we would prefer not to.

  • AD Password Sync connector 9.1.1 With OIM 11g R2 - ERROR OVER SSL

    I have set up AD password sync with from AD to OIM 11G R2
    The password syncs from AD to OIM 11G R2 on non ssl port 389.
    But if fails on SSL Port 636.
    Errors in OIMMain.Log:_
    Debug [10/11/2012 10:49:34 AM] Inside ConnectToADSI
    Debug [10/11/2012 10:49:34 AM]
    ldap_connect failed with
    Debug [10/11/2012 10:49:34 AM] Server Down
    Debug [10/11/2012 10:49:34 AM]
    Steps Carried Out thus far:_
    AD is up and running.
    Configured AD Password Sync Connector on 636 and selected ssl.
    Created Certificate on OIM host, configured custom identity key store on weblogic. Restarted Weblogic.
    Imported Certificate to AD. After this, restarted the AD
    I can Telnet port 636 from OIM Box and also connect to AD through LDAP Browser on 636 and view OU and CN, so this seems fine.
    Provisioning from OIM through Connector Server to AD works over SSL and this works fine.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Many Thanks

    This question is now been fixed.
    Instead of explicitly stating 636 for SSL,
    Use the same port 389 for ssl and also configured oim port to be 140001 which is the ssl port for oim in the configuration of OIM Password Sync.
    Export Certificates from AD to java security keystore and to weblogic keystore
    Export .pem certificate created on OIM host machine to AD.
    Restart weblogic, oim and AD
    Everything would work fine.
    For all the other information, refer to doc.
    Thanks

  • OIM 11g R1 Request Template issue

    Hi All,
    We are facing an issue with implementing the Request Management of OIM 11g R1 11.1.1.5 for Create User.
    OIM already provides OOTB CreateUserDataSet.xml and a ‘Create User’ Request Template.
    We have changed(customized) the OOTB CreateUserDataSet.xml at the same location in MDS and have created one our own Request Template – ‘Create Custom’.
    We have also added Attribute Restrictions in the ‘Create Custom’  request template for mandatory fields like – ‘Organization’, ‘User Type’ & ’Design Console Access’.
    The issue we are facing is –“After some time(not immediately) the Request Template gets corrupt and does not open thus rendering the Request Process for Create User inoperable.”
    Below is the the log error of the OIM Web console error after we are trying to open ‘Create Custom’ by clicking on the Request Template.
    <ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #8

    Any help in solving above issue, workarounds or knowing that is it an OIM bug will be greatly helpful.
    Note* I have noticed(through Export) that in a corrupted Request Template the Organization Name that I have restricted to a Constant, has the- Organization Name's Text as value in exported xml. If I change it back to ACT KEY and import it back in OIM the Template is again restored until next corruption
    Thanks already

    Excellent! Thank you very much!

  • OIM 11g Upgrade from OIM 9.1.1

    Hi All,
    We are planing to upgrade OIM 9.1.1 to OIM 11g, I have seen the impact analysis in the link "http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/id-mgmt/learnmore/upgrading-oim9x-to-oim11g-wp-365479.pdf". I am bothering about OIM Objects (Forms,Adapters,Lookups), How the impact will be?
    In that document, they said, There is no Prepopulated adapters and changes in Enitity adapters and APIs are also changed.
    1. So de we need to implement all adapters in OIM 11g again, or can we directly import them?
    2. For API changes, Do we need to update all APIs in my custom adapters? or will old APIs work on OIM 11g?
    3. Can we directly load all Lookups directly?
    We dont have any Approval workflows, We have simple direct provisioning using custom adapters, we dont have policies also. Through Groups, we have assigned the AD and Exchange resources to the users
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks

    The document details which pieces of OIM exist in 9.x and 11g. Table 2.2.1 identifies all the request related objects in 9.1 and 11gR1 and which can be migrated. It lists pre-populate adapters, but this could only be on the object side, they will still exist as is in the process side for provisioning. As part of your upgrade plan, you will need to identify how to recreate the non-upgradable items and how they are integrated into the parts of OIM once it is migrated to 11gR1.
    In section 2.7 Entity Adapters and Event Handlers behave differently. So in 9.x if you have any of these for custom code, you will need to identify how to recreate these in 11gR1 and attach them into the existing processes so your existing functionality will be intact.
    As for APIs, none of the old APIs go away. A portionof them listed in section 2.8.2 have been identified as legacy APIs and how they map to the new service. You can continue usage of old ones, but the suggestion is to make any new ones with the latest API set. I woudl assume the only exception for APIs that wont work would be the tcRequestOperationsIntf since this will not exist in 11g. You'll need to use the APIs to access the BPEL and SOA data in the database instead.
    The overall process is an evaluation of every connector you have implemented and all your functionality. Identify which pieces can and can't be migrated, and then either recreate the functionality in 11g or create new functionality within the 11g product instead. It will be a very lengthy process, which is essentially reviewing your whole implementation.
    I hope this gives you some idea of the changes to be expected. The utility will migrate the pieces it can, but then it's up to you and your client to implement the pieces that could not be converted. Then you get to evaluate the new features of the product and which ones you want to use.
    -Kevin

  • Challenge question and password migration from oimm 10g to 11g r2

    hi all,
    can you please tell me how do i do the migration of oim 10g user's password and challenge questions to oim 11g r2. Do we have any api to do it. these values are in encrypted format in oim db.
    thanks

    Run your sql query to output the encrypted fields to a flatfile or csv, and include the usr_login field so you know which user to assign the values to.
    Copy your config folder from your oim server and create a patch like c:\xellerate\config. In your code, when you connect to OIM, use this:
    System.setProperty("XL.HomeDir", "c:/xellerate");
    System.setProperty("java.security.auth.login.config", "c:/xellerate/config/authwl.conf");
    Now, when you read the file and have the encrypted field, use this code:
    String decryptValue= tcCryptoUtil.decrypt(encryptValue, "DBSecretKey");
    Now that you have the unencrypted value from your 9x instance, you can use the APIs to set challenge questions, and set user passwords with the 11g APIs.

  • Customize the look and feel of OIM 11g R2 selfsevice page

    Hi All,
    we need to customize the self service UI as per the styles used by client, for eg the background colors, fonts, tab colors, fontcolor etc, I tried doing by configuring skin but the docs say place it in admin.war and cannot find admin.war anywhere.
    Can anyone please help me out? Where to place the trinidad files and my custom css. Also, what will be the high level style classes that I need to override.
    Thanks

    refer the section 30.3 "*Skin Customization in Oracle Identity Manager*" in OIM 11g R2 Developer guide.

  • API of Resource object managment - OIM 11g R2

    Hi All,
    I want to provision a resource (say 'AD User') from a post event handler (OIM 11g R2) during user creation.
    Please tell me the API to be used.
    In OIM 10g, we can use 'tcObjectOperationsIntf' interface to operate on resource objects. what API is its replace in OIM 11g R2?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Create a role and add a rule membership to that role using your custom attribute.
    Create an access policy to provision AD resource and use the role created above while creating access policy. There will be a schedule task with the name "Evaluate user access policies". Change its schedule to run for every 1 minute.
    Now, create a user who satisfies the above role membership and make sure this user got the role membership. Immediately after a minute, this new user should be provisioned to AD resource automatically.

  • OIM 11g - DBAT fails to create connector + resources management broken

    Hi, I am using oracle identity manager 11.1.1.3 over weblogic 10.3.3 and SOA suite 11.1.1.3.
    Servers (adminserver, oim_server1 and soa_server1) starts fine, no exceptions in console.
    I have installed the GTC DBAT latest version and i want to setup user provisioning. Installation of the connector went fine (cache purging done and server restart done) but when i try to setup a new connector using the wizard, i can't get past of the first screen, where i choose between recon and provisioning, or the second(but if it's the first time i launch it after the install). After that, i get a System error and this is the console output.

  • OIM 11g integration AutoLogin error (first login or forgot password)

    Hi,
    We are currently integrating OAM+OIM 11g (R2). We have used a 10g webgate for this.
    When the user logs in for the first time, and sets his password and answers the challenge questions, he should be "Auto logged in" when he is finished.
    The same scenario should happen, if the user forgot his password, and resets it. He should be "Auto-logged in" when finished.
    This is not happending for us.
    The OIM logs tells us this:
    ERROR: Autologin failed oracle.iam.ui.platform.sso.exception.AutoLoginException: Error occured while retrieving TAP partner key from Credential store
    We have tried to verify everything recommended by this Oracle Support article:
    How to Solve Autologin problems in OIM with OAM? [ID 1475297.1]
    Any ideas what we are missing?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Henrik

    Maybe this is a something?
    Whate should the value of the property OAM_SERVER_VERSION be, when running idmConfigTool.sh and using a 10g webgate for the integration?
    Chapter 7.6 in the integration documentation states this:
    OAM_SERVER_VERSION: 11g (use 10g if Oracle Access Manager 10g is used)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/integration.1112/e27123/oim.htm#CACFCJHI
    Under chapter 2.4.5 in the idmConfigTool documentation it's described like this:
    OAM_SERVER_VERSION: Required only when Access Manager server does not support 11g webgate in Oracle Identity Manager-Access Manager integration. In that case, value should be provided as '10g'.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E27559_01/integration.1112/e27123/idmcfgtool.htm#CIHCICHD
    When we ran the script, we had the value set to "11g" (because that's our OAM version)... now I'm wondering if I need to set this value at all..
    Regards,
    Henrik

  • Export OIM 11g Resource object with dependencies

    Hi All,
    I am looking for sample code that will export all OIM 11g Resource objects along with dependencies into XML format. Can somebody help?
    I am using the below code to retreive all resource objects but don't have dependencies.
    FileWriter fstream = new FileWriter("OIMResources.xml");
    BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fstream);
    tcExportOperationsIntf moExportUtility = (tcExportOperationsIntf) ioUtilityFactory
              .getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcExportOperationsIntf");
    Collection lstObjects = moExportUtility.findObjects(export_object, "*");
    String s = moExportUtility.getExportXML(lstObjects, "*");
    out.write(s);
    Thanks
    Mahendra.

    Hi Vladimir,
    I am using the below code snippet to do the export of Resources.
    public Boolean export() {

         String export_object="Resource";

         //String export_object_path = export_object.concat(xmlFile);
         try {
         FileWriter fstream = new FileWriter("OIMResources.xml");
         BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fstream);
         tcExportOperationsIntf moExportUtility = (tcExportOperationsIntf) ioUtilityFactory.getUtility("Thor.API.Operations.tcExportOperationsIntf");
         Collection<RootObject> lstObjects = moExportUtility.findObjects(export_object, "*");
         System.out.println(lstObjects);
         lstObjects.addAll(moExportUtility.getDependencies(lstObjects));
         lstObjects.addAll(moExportUtility.retrieveChildren(lstObjects));
         lstObjects.addAll(moExportUtility.retrieveDependencyTree(lstObjects));
         String s = moExportUtility.getExportXML(lstObjects, "*");
         out.write(s);
         LOG.info(Resource + " Objects are successfully exported --------------->");
         out.close();
         } catch (Exception e) {
