Putting records from database to array ( getArray() )

Question

I would like to get access to database and put those data in array. I have found on the SUN website that I can use getArray(). This is example from tutorial:
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(
"SELECT ZIPS FROM REGIONS");
while (rs.next()) {
Array z = rs.getArray("ZIPS");
String[] zips = (String[])z.getArray();
for (int i = 0; i < zips.length; i++) {

I tried to use getArray() in my programm, but I got the comunicat that is error during access to data(connection with data base is OK, because I checked it in another sample). If someone has any comments or idea how to make it another way, I will be appreciated.

Not every backend supports the Array DataType and i do not believe that MySQL currently does. I think in fact only Oracle does currently but i could be remembering incorrectly.
