Query about Property class code

Could someone tel me that from where getClass() method comes from? i.e. in which class this method exists?
What is the pupose of this code?
private static volatile Properties props;
char[] buffer = new char[0];
InputStream is=null;
String propFile="";
     is = buffer.getClass().getResource(propFile);
props = new Properties();
     props.load(is);

What exactly do you want to know? The getClass() method is defined on Object and the code snipped uses the class loader to find a file resource and load properties from it.
However: if you do not know what the getClass() does and 'where it comes from' I would suggest you read some more about JAVA basics!

  • Urgent query about copying array of objects to html item

    I have an urgent query about how I can display an array of objects on a html form. The only suitable html item I can see for this is a drop down box. Ideally a combo box would be preferable but I cant find anything like this. Basically the display item needs to contain 3 columns of data and has to display a number of rows. Can anyone tell me how to copy the array of values into a drop down box?

  • What are the Query criterion property attributes to search for KB's in SCCM 2012

    A client is ask what servers might have a particular hotfix(ex: KB2798040) installed. The Hotifx is not in our WSUS catalog because it is not a critical security patch so it is not downloaded. What is the SCCM 2012 R2 Query criterion property attributes
    to find a particular KB?

    Depending on the OS of the client, that information may not be collected by default.
    Rather than collecting all of the HotfixID class, instead, consider using DCM for this single HotfixID.
    Sherry has previously posted about ways to do this,
    http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/skissinger/archive/2011/08/17/non-security-hotfix-detection-for-windows-7-2008.aspx
    and here's a post by Nick which seems to be based on the very same approach:

  • Question about property:STARTMTH in dimension CATEGORY

    Hi,
    There is a default property "startmth" in dimension CATEGORY. It exist in the default application APPSHELL, but I can't find any
    document for this property. Does anyone know what this property use for?
    Regards,
    David Cho

    First off, it's not a property. It's a static variable. And the code you have isn't a good idea. Static variables should NOT be set via instance methods.
    Think about the following code:
    // In some other class
    Bar x = [[Bar alloc] init];
    Bar y = [[Bar alloc] init];
    Think about what just happened. In the 'foo' class you have now created two 'foo' objects and the first one is now leaked.
    The proper way to initialize static variables is with the 'initialize' class method. This is only ever called once, the first time the class is referenced.
    static Class foo;
    @implementation Bar
    + (void)initialize {
    foo = [[Bar alloc] init];
    - init {
    // Do nothing with 'foo'
    + (Bar)getObject {
    return foo;
    - (void)dealloc {
    // Do nothing with 'foo'
    The only downside, sort of, is that 'foo' is never dealloc'ed except when the app exits. But this isn't typically a problem.

  • Indexed Property Example Code

    Is there an example out there for a Java Newby - I am trying to save data in an array - that is using the indexed property in a SessionBean.
    I have then added the indexed property and bound the value to it:
    * Indexed getter for property rule.
    * @param index Index of the property.
    * @return Value of the property at <CODE>index</CODE>.
    public Long getRule(int index) {
    return this.rule[index];
    * Indexed setter for property rule.
    * @param index Index of the property.
    * @param rule New value of the property at <CODE>index</CODE>.
    public void setRule(int index, Long rule) {
    this.rule[index] = rule;
    public String button1_action() {
    setValue("#{AdminBean.rule[1]}", selector.getValue());
    I am getting the followong error:
    Exception Details: org.apache.jasper.JasperException
    Error getting property 'rule' from bean of type magicwheel.AdminBean
    Possible Source of Error:
    Class Name: org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper
    File Name: JspServletWrapper.java
    Method Name: service
    Line Number: 384
    Source not available. Information regarding the location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.
    Can anyone help, possibly with some example code?
    Thanks,
    Nils

    public String button1_action() {
    setValue("#{AdminBean.rule[1]}",
    selector.getValue());
    How about
    getAdminBean().setRule(1, selector.getValue());Assuming that selector.getValue() returns a Long and that AdminBean is either an Application, Session, or Request Bean.
    Best regards
    Antonio.

  • Trigger inheritance through property classes

    Dear members,
    I have property classes that contain triggers.
    When I make a block inherit those classes, it copies the triggers in the block, in subclass mode, right ?
    I would like to be able to modify the PL/SQL code of those triggers once they are in the block.
    But for this, I would have to tell Forms to copy the triggers instead of subclassing them when I subclass the property class (I keep dreaming) or to break the inheritance once they are in the block.
    Any slight part of an idea about this will be much welcome.

    Ok, that's what I feared.
    But let's think positive.
    I build modules from templates, so I can put into the template all the objects (form level triggers, alerts,...) that have to be in all my modules.
    I can't do this for block level triggers since the blocks have not been created yet. So I had the idea of creating a property class for each kind of block, and get the triggers through it, but then I can't modify those triggers anymore.
    I'd like to avoid having to copy the block triggers one by one from an OLB.
    Is there another solution ?

  • To ragnic and other about Singleton class

    Hi ragnic. Thanks for your reply. I posted the code wrong. Heres' my correct one.
    I have a GUI first loaded information and the information is stored in a databse, I have some EJB classes..and my singleton class ABC has some method to access to the EJB..
    so my first GUI will gather info using singleton class and later if I click on
    a button in my first GUI class, will pop up another frame of another class , this class also need to class setPassword in my Singleton..
    are my followign codes correctly??
    iS my Class ABC a SINgleton class? thanks
    Is my class ABC use as single correctly. And It is called from other classes is also correct?
    I'm new to java and like to learn about Singleton class.
    But I really dont' understand it clearly after reading many examples of it.
    I have a project to convert my class abc to a singleton.
    But I dont know how to do it.
    In my class(soon will become a singleton) will have few methods that later I need to use it from another class A and class B.
    I have a GUI application that first load my class A..and my class will call
    class abc(singleton) to get some information from it.
    and then in class A has a button, if I click on that button I will call SIngleton class again to update my password, in the singleton class has method calls updatePassword. But I dont know how to call a singleton from other class.
    I have my code for them below:
    1)public class ABC //attempt using a singleton
    private static ABC theABC = null;
    private ABC(){}
    public synchronized static ABC getABC()
    if(theABC == null)

    1. When replying, use <reply>, don't post a new topic.
    2. Implementing a singleton is a frequently asked question. Search before you post.
    3. This is not a question about Swing. A more appropriate forum would be "New To Java Technology" or perhaps "Java Programming", but see point 1.
    4. When posting code, keep it short. It increases the chance of readers looking at it. And in composing your shorter version for the forum, you just may solve your problem.

         i modified tangosol-coherence.xml and set local-storage to false ( for distributed cache) and replaced the file in coherence.jar.
         i'm using an overflow scheme and the back map uses a disk scheme.
         i also start a separate standalone instance of tangosol and i set the system property of local storage to true for the standalone instance.
         i start the standalone instance first and then weblogic.
         The idea is ensure that the tangosol instance in weblogic or the weblogic JVM should not participate in storing data (hence local storage false).
         only the JVM for the standalone instance should store data (hence local storage true -system property).
         i wanted to know whether the property "local-storage" is pertinent to a member(machine) or to a JVM?
         the reason for this doubt: as i'm using a disk scheme, tangosol creates a file for an overflow (e.g lh014402~.tp). i can see two such files when ideally i would have wanted only one for the tangosol instance.
         -rw-r--r-- 1 zephyr users 8364032 2005-06-23 17:02 lh014402~.tp
         -rw-r--r-- 1 zephyr users 8364032 2005-06-23 17:02 lh014403~.tp.
         can you please let me know if we can configure tangosol in such a way that we can two separate instances running with local stroage false for one and true for the other?
         Awaiting your reply
         Thanks
         Vinay

    I would suggest leaving the default 'local-storage' value set to 'true' in the tangosol-coherence.xml and just use the JVM argument to control the local storage of each individual node. Then start the stand alone instance normally (I assume you are using the com.tangosol.net.DefaultCacheServer) and start the WebLogic instance with the following:
         java [...] -Dtangosol.coherence.distributed.localstorage=false [...]
         Hope this helps.
         Later,

  • In onLoad JavaScript, I'm getting "Error: Permission denied to access property 'classes'" when I access Components.classes; how do I enable that permission?

    I need to emulate several ActiveX functions in my client's web application. I have located several Mozilla web pages that describe how to do the things I need, and I have attempted to implement those instructions. However, I can't seem to get past the first line of code. In my web page, I am calling a JavaScript function using the onLoad attribute of the <body> tag. I am using the Navigator object to determine that the browser is Firefox. I then attempt to access the extension classes using the following code on lines 51 and 52 of the Download.js file:
    var C = Components;
    var CC = C.classes;
    The Web Console gives me these two messages:
    [13:51:55.621] The Components object is deprecated. It will soon be removed. @ http://distribution:781/NewDDI/DownLoad.js:51
    [13:51:55.621] Error: Permission denied to access property 'classes' @ http://distribution:781/NewDDI/DownLoad.js:52
    How do I enable adequate permission to be able to access the Components classes?

    I think Components is available only in extensions (or otherwise privileged code) and not in ordinary web pages.

  • Need help about Vector class in java

    Hello,
    I have some questions about Vector class. Please see this short code:
    Vector v = new Vector();
    v.add(New Integer(5));
    Is this the only way to add int value into vector? Performance wise, is this slow? And are there any better and faster way to add/get int element fro vector?
    Thank you very much in advance.

    Normally (up to Java version 1.4), that's the only way you can add an int to a Vector. The thing is that Vector can only contain Objects, and an int is a primitive, not an object. So you have to wrap the int in an Integer object.
    However, Java 5 has a new feature, called autoboxing, which means that the compiler automatically wraps primitive values into objects, so that you can program it like this:
    Vector v = new Vector();
    v.add(5);Note, this will not make your program faster or more efficient, because the compiler translates this automatically to:
    Vector v = new Vector();
    v.add(new Integer(5));So in the end, the same bytecode will be produced. Autoboxing is just a feature to make life more convenient for the programmer.

  • Reg Property Class

    Hi all,
    i created 2 visual attributes NEGATIVE,NON_NEGATIVE and given different background colors, Then i created a property class with some properties of PURCHASE_COST field in the form names as US_CURRENCY. I created When-Validate-Item trigger under Property class with following pl-sql code:
    IF :SYSTEM.CURSOR_VALUE < 100     THEN
         message('negative');
         message(' ');
         SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(:SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'NEGATIVE');
    ELSE
         message('non-negative');
         message(' ');
         SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(:SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'NON_NEGATIVE');
    END IF;
    next i subclassed this property class to various currency fields in the form and then compiled and run, but the changes cannot be seen over the currency fields.
    Regards,
    Sreekanth.

    Hi Francois,
    i have nothing inside my property class but only have WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger which holds the code for selecting visual attribute at runtime:
    BEGIN
    IF TO_NUMBER(:SYSTEM.CURSOR_VALUE) < 0 THEN      -- Negative value entered
    -- Attach NEGATIVE visual attribute to item
    SET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY(:SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE, 'NEGATIVE');
    ELSE                               -- Non-negative value entered
    -- Attach NON_NEGATIVE visual attribute to item
    SET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY(:SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE, 'NON_NEGATIVE');
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
         MESSAGE(TO_CHAR(SQLCODE)||'----'||SQLERRM);
    END;
    Now after i enter the PURCHASE_COST and move to another field, it is showing me the error:
    *6502---ORA-6502:PL/SQL:numeric or value error*

  • T:div throws Component property class is not writable

    I'm using the Tomahawk div-tag including the rendered attribute to check if the wrapped components should be rendered. An exception is thrown indicating the component property is not writable. In other words, I think it means there's no public set-method. However, there is. I'm also using the same rendered expression in t:inputText / t:outputText element/s where it does work.
    What's so specific with the t:div?
    Also I wonder why there's a set-method needed as I don't use it..
    please help,
    thanks,
    dave

    If it says 'component property class is not writable' maybe it is talking about the component property 'class'? not 'rendered'.

  • A question about Object Class

    I got a question about Object class in AS3 recently.
    I typed some testing codes as following:
    var cls:Class = Object;
    var cst:* = Object.prototype.constructor;
    trace( cls === cst); // true
    so cls & cst are the same thing ( the Object ).
    var obj:Object = new Object();
    var cst2:* = obj.constructor.constructor;
    var cst3:* = obj.constructor.constructor.c.constructor;
    var cst5:* = Object.prototype.constructoronstructor;
    var cst4:* = Object.prototype.constructor.constructor.constructor;
    var cst6:* = cls.constructor;
    trace(cst2 === cst3 && cst3 === cst4 && cst4 === cst5 && cst5 === cst6); //true
    trace( cst == cst2) // false
    I debugged into these codes and found that cst & cst2 had the same content but not the same object,
    so why cst & cst2 don't point to the same object?
    Also, I can create an object by
    " var obj:Object = new cst();"
    but
    " var obj:Object = new cst2();"
    throws an exception said that cst2 is not a constructor.
    Anyone can help? many thanks!

    I used "describeType" and found that "cst2" is actually "Class" class.
    So,
    trace(cst2 === Class); // true
    That's what I want to know, Thank you.

  • Property Class Forms - ADF Implementation

    I'm thinking about the property class functionality like in Oracle Forms.
    Which is the best implementation in ADF ?

    Hi,
    for visual properties this is Style Sheets. For business services attributes these are base classes (e.g extending the ADF BC framework)

  • Frmf2xml and frmxml2f with property classes that have triggers

    All,
    I am not sure if I have a setup problem or a bug, but here goes. When I convert a form from fmb to xml (using frmf2xml) the .xml version gets created fine. When I convert back I get the following error:
    Processing XML module module1_fmb.xml
    Subclassing error: Check that your FORMS_PATH contains all parent modules.
    Could not find exisiting sub-object KEY-CLRBLK on owner MODULE1
    Could not find exisiting sub-object KEY-DELREC on owner MODULE1
    Could not find exisiting sub-object WHEN-MOUSE-CLICK on owner MODULE1
    Module saved as module1.fmb
    The FORMS_PATH is set right etc. The problem only shows up in the following circumstances:
    I have a property class in the form - the property class has a trigger - the property class is attached to the Module Property Sheet.
    Looking at the XML that gets generated, it looks like the trigger information is repeated when the property class is used at form level. If i use it at block or item level it converts ok?
    I can't find anything on metalink and wondered if anyone else had the issue? i.e. a functional property class with triggers used at module level.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bren

    It's quite easy to replicate this (if anyone is interested):
    1. Create a new form
    2. Create a property class and call it Module_Class
    3. Add a couple of triggers to the class with "Null;" in teh trigger code, say a PRE-FORM trigger and a POST-FORM trigger.
    Now - if you save the module at this stage conversion works fine to/from XML/FMB.
    Open the form and select the modules property sheet. Now, subclass the module using the Module_Class you created before.
    Save the module.
    Now - conversion from fmb to XML appears to work - but converting back fails.
    Can anyone verify this?
    Regards,
    Bren
