Query button on Tabular form?

The standard buttons are Cancel/Delete/Submit/Add Row.
If I want a form to be used for queries as well, how can it be done? ie similar to the Query function on a Form on a Table with Report where you can query the rows you want, and then do updates.

Hello Zahid,
I don't know if this is causing your problem, but there is a javascript error on your page:
region is null
hideColumn("#REGION_ID#", 3)f?p=9396...5351::::: (line 22)
(?)()f?p=9396...5351::::: (line 170)
var report = region.getElementsByTagName("TABLE")[1];And if I click on the radio I get another error:
missing ) after argument list
[Break on this error] javascript:updateItem('f03, 1, 'N');And when I fix that ... it works...

  • Executing a column which has a sql query in a tabular form

    Hi,
    I have a tabular form which contains a column named as SQL which has sql statements in it. Without going to the SQL workshop in Apex i want to execute that query in the tabular form itself. For that i've created a page item which fetches the particular rows sql query and created a button 'EXECUTE'. When i click the execute button it should run the query and should display whether the query is correct or not and should show the error message.
    Can any one provide solution for this or whether there are any other ways to achive this scenario.

  • Add row button on tabular form works from time to time

    Hi!
    we have two environments (dev & prod) with 10gR2 and APEX 3.2.1.00.12 (installed from one and only setup file)
    we have developed application on dev and moved it to prod,
    and on prod it was discovered that - from time to time (not always) -
    when you press 'add row' button on tabular form,
    tabular form does not display new record on the page,
    if number of records exceeds number of records allowed to show
    (i.e. with 10 records maximum it works fine when you add records from 1 to 10 and can't add record 11)
    but - interestingly - increases number of rows in pagination by 1
    (e.g. "rows 10-20 of 35" changes to "rows 10-20 of 36").
    on dev this tabular form works correctly.
    what is it and how to heal it?..
    I recall I had same issue in prior releases (3.0 - 3.1), is it known issue?

    It seems to be true:
    - if there is ascending order on columns which fields are null in new line (have no default value), new row is visible in current "pagination" page
    - but if there is DEScending order OR ANY sort order is set on columns which fields are NOT null in new line (have default value), new row is NOT visible in current "pagination" page
    thank you!

  • Submit query button on parameter form

    Hello.
    I have a problem with runing reports with parameter form.
    When i start report from form, parameter form is opened. When i check on AS, which report is running i see reportName.rdf.
    When i then press submit query button, report appears. But when i check it again on AS, i see reportName1.rdf (from another directory)is running.
    Why is that? How can i solve that? Why does submit query button on parameter form run another report (from another directory), then report i start from form?
    I can run two report from form (list item), but i have this problem only on one report.
    Thanks.

    Sorry. I just found the problem - in BEFOREPFORM trigger.

  • Enable/disable/defaulting the radio button in tabular Form

    Hi friends,
    I have one radio button column in my tabular form with 3 values for it.
    <li>FC
    <li>BC
    <li>EC
    I need to enable/disable the radio buttons according to the position of the user.
    If the position of the user is CEO means,
    then FC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have BC and EC radio buttons to be enabled.
    If the position of the user is between(1-4) grades means,
    then FC radio button has to be disabled, but BC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have EC radio buttons to be enabled.
    If the position of the user is between(4-6) grades means,
    then FC, BC radio button has to be disabled, but EC radio button has to be checked defaultly.
    How i can achieve this radio button enabling/disabling and defaulting it dynamically according to the user.
    Where i need to specify this kind of restriction inorder to work for me in my application.

    Hi Bob,
    thanks for your reply first, and your suggestion too.
    I tried in the below manner on the lov definition of my radio button and it hide/shown according to the user who logs into the application.
    SELECT 'FC' d, 'FC' r FROM DUAL WHERE lower(:APP_USER) = (select lower(user_name) from apps.xxhy_ams_details_v where upper(job_name) = 'CEO')

  • How to use enter key instead of save button in tabular form?

    Hello,
    is there a way to save data entered into a tabular form by clicken enter instead of "submit/save" button?
    We got it working for normal forms but not for tab. forms
    Regards
    Friedrich

    Hi Friedrich,
    try to enter
    onkeypress="return submitEnter(this,event)"into "Element Attributes" of your tabular form column.
    If you hit enter, the page will be submitted with request set to the id of the tabular form column.

  • Radio Buttons on Tabular Form

    Everyone,
    I'm trying to create a report with radio buttons in it as described by the select statement below. The only thing I have not been able to work out is when the user presses a raido button to get the page to submit so another report region will update. Whats wrong with the statement below? • Delete button doesn't work in tabular form after upgrade from APEX3.2 to 4

    I just upgraded the APEX from 3.2 to 4.0. However, my application is not working anymore.
    First of all, my delete button in tabular form is not working. When I select a row and click the delete button, the row is not deleted, however the message showed 1 row is deleted.
    Could you anybody tell me how can I debug this problem?
    Thanks a lot !

    I had the same problem. I first tried the solution above, but that didn't work. I also had a derived column for a custom popup and some display only columns. I removed the derived column and took out the display columns from my query. I then made sure my column order matched the source query. I applied changes and the delete button worked. FYI. I found out by some testing that it was actually trying to delete from the table, but with the wrong id. My first editable field was qty so if the qty was equal to 2 it then tried to delete from the table where pk=2(I had to restore that record). I believe it is related to the bug above. Backup your app first. I always do before I mess with the tabular forms.

  • Tabular Form Populate from a query of other tables

    I am sure this can be done but we are especially new to Master-Detail relationships in Apex and to Tabular Forms (updateable reports).
    We are trying to populate a tabular form (updateable report) with values from a query. The user is simply going to click yes/no per row and then we need to insert those rows into a table..
    I tried following the logic of creating a Master-Detail relationship, and noticed the AddRow Button and the process to add rows to the Tabular Form. I also noticed several MRUUpdate processes that fire to update existing rows.. I am assuming that I need to first add the number of rows that the query which populates the tabular form pulls in and then update the rows after that. I tiried doing a count and storing the value in a Page Text Field/Hidden Field and then in the AddRows to the MRU I put the field name with & and . around it. That did not work (it could not add rows and came up with an ora-6502 error) , I then tried to put a : in front of it and that failed too.
    Any suggestions on how to proceed.
    Thank you in Advance,
    - Brian

    Here is the issue quickly... I am trying to create a Master/Detail Screen. The master record always inserts, the details are populated from a query into a tabular form/updateable report and always inserts. The user will check certain details and the checked details will be marked as Y, unchecked marked as N and saved to the detail table. And tried to do some research into the issue..
    Possible Solutions I found where: 1) http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:170:2680852007789839::NO:::&success_msg=0%20Row(s)%20Updated%2C%202%20Row(s)%20Inserted.%2F838A7BC908323107AD95920713AFD5FD%2F and 2) http://www.inside-oracle-apex.com/checkboxes-in-tabular-forms-the-easy-way/

  • Query  button in Master/Detail form

    Hello All,
    I created a Master / detail form...looks good for a blind query and for a specific column value...
    The problem is When the user selects query button ,how do I show records that the logged in user has created.
    Am already storing username in the table when the user inserts new record.
    Appreciate if you could send code ..if that's the choice to fix my issue..
    Thanks in advance
    Babu

    Hi,
    Write the following code in 'Query' event of the 'Query' button in your form ..
    p_session.set_shadow_value(p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_USER_ID',
    p_value => portal30.wwctx_api.get_user,
    p_language => PORTAL30.wwctx_api.get_nls_language);
    doQuery;
    Replace 'A_USER_ID' with name of your user id field . I hope you have selected this field in your form and if not select this field & hide it in the form to make this code to work.

  • Submit query  button  parameter form issue

    hi
    im facing problem submit query button . im working in as 10g r2. Every thing is working fine but when i click on submit query button of parameter form. it gives error and and page cant find. its reason that it takes localhost name in url and localhost(asserver.dht.com) is not recognized on internet. To resolve this issue i designed my own parameter form in html and in post method i use my domain name( www.ddgi.com) which is registered on internet. please give me solution so that i can use default parameter form. where from it picks machine name so that i can change it accoding to my domain name.
    My localhost name is asserver.dht.com
    my registered domain on internet is www.ddgi.com

    To help you see what is happening, temporarily add DESNAME to your parameter screen. Make sure that DESNAME on the parameter screen has a value before you click the Submit Query button.
    If you are running the report with a local report service (running on your workstation), the value of desname should be the name of your default printer.
    If you are running the report on a network application server based report service you need to specify the name of a printer that is accessible to the server on which the report service is running. Make sure that it is specified in a way that the server can recognize it, e.g. \\printserver_01\HPLaserJ4210.
    Maybe this will help some.

  • Cascading select list issue in a tabular form

    hello,
    how can i implement cascading select list for filtering my tabular form report results.
    Like i want to have the cascading select list above the tabualr form report such that when i select the value and try to click a button, my tabular form report should filter the report based on the select list value.
    i want to have three select list items above my report - and these select list are dependent on one other - tats why i want to make them cascading select list.
    can anyone help me out with cascading select list.
    thanks.

    Thank you so much for the quick response saved my life!.
    For future reference let examples of the use of APEX_UTIL.SAVEKEY_VC2 and APEX_UTIL.KEYVAL_VC2
    This is the query of the Tabular Form
    SELECT   den.cod_encuesta,
             den.cod_det_encuesta,
             den.cod_pregunta,
             pre.nombre_pregunta,
             den.respuesta,
             den.observaciones,
             APEX_UTIL.SAVEKEY_VC2(den.cod_pregunta) codpreg
      FROM   enc_det_encuesta den, enc_pregunta pre
    WHERE   den.cod_pregunta = pre.cod_pregunta
       AND   den.cod_encuesta = :P6_COD_ENCUESTAThis is the query "Select list"
    SELECT   nombre_respuesta, cod_respuesta
      FROM   enc_respuesta
    WHERE   cod_pregunta =  APEX_UTIL.KEYVAL_VC2regards

  • Tabular form calculated summary row

    Hopefully this may be a quick question with either a yes or a no
    I have a tabular form with columns
    Project Name , Wk1 , Wk2 , Wk3 etc ,
    basically so PM's can track the hours against a project
    I have used the sum checkboxes to create a summary row
    but they also want a row that calculates how many hours remaining for each week under the week no cols , obviously subtracted ffrom the hours budget for each week assigned to the project and person
    I've done the summary and calculation in a view but this isn't acceptable as a UNION query in a tabular form
    I've also tried another region under the Tabular form but as the project name is a variable length its not easy keeping the Wk cols aligned
    thanks in advance
    Chris

    Hi Gus/Paul,
    I had the same requirements as you, resulting from the fact that newly added rows may not be visible to the user until he/she has scrolled down sufficiently, but, by lowering my standards (something I excel at :D ), I was able to find an acceptable compromise.
    As you probably noticed yourselves, when you "edit" the ADD button, you can see that a call is made to the addRow() javascript function. I therefore took a look at the javascript code - foolish really as I am an oracle DBA from the Jurassic period. Needless to say it scared the pants off me... So, fuelled by cowardice, I snatched at an inferior-but-dead-easy-to-implement alternative solution whereby the page is automatically "scrolled" to the bottom of the form when the "ADD" button is clicked.
    Should this "cop out" work for you, you can implement it in the following way:
    1. Create a new HTML region immediately after the tabular form, containing the following source: <font color="blue">&lt;a name="bottom_of_page"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;</font>
    2. Amend the action when the "ADD" button is clicked to scroll down to the new region by doing the following:
    - edit "ADD" button
    - Go to "Action when button Clicked" section
    - Amend "URL Target" from
    <font color="blue">Javascript:addRow();</font>
    <br>to
    <font color="blue">Javascript:addRow();window.location='#bottom_of_page'</font>
    <br>
    <br>Regards,
    Amr.
