Query changing results depending on the display of a breakdown

Hello folks,
we have got a query that shows the following strange behaviour:
- I execute a query that shows wrong additions.
- if I add a breakdown the additions are correct.
- if I remove the breakdown again additions still are correct.
The problem could be derived from correction-bookings in SEM-BCS that were made partner-profit-centers that no longer exist for this company.
We know, that these bookings cause the error (ie the difference in the addition)
But what is strange is that the system is adding up wrong at first and correct afterwards.
We already checked
0-supressing
direction of calculation
possible filters (no filters are set at this query)
Has anyone a hint what could be the cause for this problem?

Same query, different results depending on compute statistics!!!

This one is really weird, you would think I am making this up but I am not...
We have one really long query that uses several large inline views and usually returns a few rows. All of a sudden the query stopped working -- i.e. it returned no rows. We tried rebuilding indexes; this didn't help. We tried computing full statistics and this fixed the problem. Has anyone heard of compute statistics affecting the output of a query????
About a week later, the problem happened again. Computing estimate statistics didn't help. Only computing full statistics fixed the problem.
The only thing I can note, is that this database was recently upgraded from 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.7, but I checked the install log files and there are no errors.
Luckily this is just a development database but we are a little worried that it might re-occur in production. We have a few other development databases that have also been upgraded to 9.2.0.7 and none of these have the problem.
We have compared the init.ora files, no real differences. Any other ideas? Maybe a full export import?

9.2.0.7 environments... Although if it is a statistics issue, it's likely a corner case, so you have to have a number of things in alignment. It's quite possible that, for example, two systems have identical structures and identical data but slightly different query plans because the data in one table is physically ordered differently on one system than in another which slightly changes the clustering_factor of an index which causes the CBO to use that index on one system and not on another. You may also end up with slightly different statistics because you have histograms on a column in one system and not in another.
Looks like we are going to 9.2.0.8 anyway because of
the end-of-life service support forcing us to go to
9.2.0.8 anyway.If it reproduces on 9.2.0.8 (and I'd tend to suspect it will), it's certainly worth raising an issue. Unless you have an extended support contract, though, I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for a patch if this isn't already fixed, since 9.2 leaves Premier Support at the end of the month...

Changing Date Format in the Display

Hi All,
I have deployed a EAR file in WebLogic to navigate directories and files on the server. By default the Last Modified date for files are listing with "DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM" format. I like to change the default format.
Could you please let me know the procedure to this.

Sliding panels - change link appearance depending on the current panel

I'm trying to change the appearance of the link, depending on the display panel. Panels change automatically after a certain period of time. I do not know: for example, how to recognize the current panel, and using an if statement to change the appearance of the link. I have such code:

Different results on a SQL sort depending on the tool?

i've a problem with sorting a column, getting different results depending on the tool.
Environment:
Oracle 8.1.6 on Solaris, Oracle Client on NT 4.0 (SP5)
The Query:
SELECT * FROM mytable ORDER BY mycolumn ASC
This is the result of a query by SQL Plus Worksheet:

This is the result of a query by SQL*Plus (and Oracle ODBC 32Bit Test and a jdbc query) :

Why has the same SQL statement different results?
Why are there different collating orders?
How can this be solved?

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
Then... Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.
The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Changing a style in xss depending on the facet

Is it possible to change a style in the xss depending on the facet?
I want to change in my UIX application the prompt style of the messageTextInput components - not the contentStyle - for example underline the prompts. But I want this to happen only if facet==printable.
Can I change this once in an xss and apply it to the whole application? I know I should change the OraPromptsomething (I've found the correct one, I just don't have its name here) - but I don't know how to change it depending on the facet

So I suppose it is not possible?

How to execute a procedure depending on the result of a query?

Hello, I'm new in ODI.
I want to execute a procedure depending on the result of a query Oracle table.
We have a Oracle Table whit a column that contains two possibles values.
I want read the table, row by row, and depending on this value, execute a Procedure or execute another.
How can i do?

what you need to do is
1. create a variable which "new_var2" which has the count of the number of rows you want to process. must be data type numeric.
2. copy "new_var2" to the package screen.
3. duplicate the "new_var2" on the package screen and evaluate the variable and test for "> 0" zero, call it "new_var2_E"
3. create a new odi variable "new_var1" with a refresh of "select field1 fom (select field1,rownum as rownumber from tablex) where rownumber = #new_var2" in the relevant schema and technology.
4. copy "new_var1" into your package (some where in the flow)
5. right click the "new_var1" variable in you package screen and you should get the option duplicate step (click on that)
6. select the the duplicate "new_var1" on the package screen and correct the the name to something meaning full to you "new_var1_E", also change the "type" to "evaluate variable" then you should see a "value" box. enter one of the values you want to test in the box (remember do not put in quotes ' )
7. now back on the package screen join the "new_var1" to the "new_var1_E" with an OK line
8 you now join "new_var2" to "new_var2_E" with OK
9 you join "new_var2_E" to "new_var1"
10. you then join the "new_var1_E" with an OK or a KO line to the relevant procedure.
12. you need to duplicate "new_var2" in the package screen one more time this time and call it "new_var2_D" set the type to evaluate and then select the increment of -1
13. the relevant procedure to "new_var2_D" with an OK
14. join the "new_var2_D" to the "new_var2_E" with an OK
15. this should close off the loop now the exit point is "new_var2_E" with a KO line to the next part of your process....
Basically you should end up with a loop on new_var2 decementing, and it is used to get a specific next record row from your table.

Its working.
But some times it shows like some thing went wrong

Finally we fixed.
The prob is that we referring two different version of jquery files in master page and page layout.
We corrected by referring same version of jquery files in both pages

DropDownByKey display changes depending in the number of records

Hello,
I've noticed that the UI component dropdownbyKey change depending in the number of items it has, with few records it appears like a normal dropdown box and with a huge amounts of records it appears like a combobox (table). This is a great feature.
However, I want to know the cause of this? What is the limit of records that causes this behaviour. It's possible to assign the way I want to display it?

For what huge amount of records you are able to see the drop by key like a combo box (table)...... like what is the numerical value of the huge amount , that behaviour u r able to see .
if the values are less than 30 then we go for svs , for values more than 30 and less than 300 we use EVS and for value or record more than 300 we go for OVS .
if you have done svs code for a feild and bind that value to the DD by key it remains to be normal Drop down by key and if the same field is bound to an input feild then the EVS will come .
so what have you done can i know in detail please .....

How can I architect my data layer to yield query result pages to the application as SQL Server prepares them?

I tried to make the question as explicit as possible.
Refer to Sql Server Management Studio's Results view. Depending upon the structure of the execution plan, the Results pane may begin displaying results while the query is still executing. Can someone point me in a direction for architecting a
data layer (I am tech and framework agnostic for this task. Any solution will suffice) that will begin receiving pages of the set before SQL Server has completed the entire query?
The call from the data layer to SQL Server will obviously have to be asynchronous, but is there any additional ceremony that I need to be aware of when issuing OPTION (FAST x) to the query optimizer?

I would imagine you cannot ORDER BY and yield results as they are fetched because of the execution plan that would be generated. For the purposes of this post, please assume that sorting will be done purely client side

How to configure search results web part to display results only after a query is generated from user?

I am crawling documents from a file server. I created a new content source and crawled the documents. All documents are crawled successfully.
Then I went to my enterprise search center site collection and created a new result source. I have added the query to use above content source.
After that, on a page I am trying to configure the search results web part to display documents using this result source. Now the problem is:
It displays all the documents that are crawled without searching for anything. I mean first it should not display any results. If a user searches for something , then according to that search it should display results.
Any idea how to do this in the web part? I am using SharePoint 2013 on premise enterprise edition. No code. Totally OOTB.

What did you use for the Query text in the result source?
I could reproduce this issue when I used Query text like: {searchTerms} Path:”http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents”
Then I changed the Query to
{?{searchTerms}
Path:"http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents"}
, then Search result web part didn’t return results without searching.
So , check your result source, and use the Query like the above(adding "{?...}").

3.5 Query Designer has 'row' in the footer of results but 7.0 has 'page'

3.5 Query Designer has 'row' in the footer of results but 7.0 has 'page' is there a way to change 7.0 to have 'row' instead of 'page'? We would prefer to see how many rows of data we have. I didn't know if this was a parameter they may be able to be changed.

I donot think there is way to display Row instead of Page.
Also in 7.0. It is based on cells.

Display query's result (with many rows & field) into a list ?

I'd like to display the result of a query wich returs many rows without using a list of values but another component which allowed the display of sereval columns at the same time.
Note: I can't use a LOV because I don't want to return no value, and I need a TLIST presentation.

A kludgy solution would be to create a database view that combines the multiple columns into a single standardly formatted column, and use that for displaying in a jcombobox.
Depends upon whether you like to code Java or like to play in the database. grin
If you do that Java solution please post the code here!
