Query "magnifying" glass not working on forms - 1 workstation

I have a single workstation that  has suddenly stopped showing the small magnifying glass that can be clicked and runs saved queries.   
Example - we have a query that generates a new BP code - when you bring up the BP master data form it usually shows a magnifying glass - you click the magnifying glass and it populates the field with data.
This is isolated to a single workstation, not a single user.
Is there a local setting in the B1 software that may have accidently been turned off?  We also had a problem a week ago on this same workstation where usability package would not launch properly.  Our VAR deleted the temp folder which he said sometimes gets corrupted and it seemed to "fix" the issue.
Any suggestions?  DNR B1 again?

The temp files seemed to be corrupt...It made no difference in the pickers display or any of the other options - i was unable to delete files in the temp directory....I reloaded the workstation with a clean copy of windows and now all is operating normally.  FYI - the software is very picky about your .net framework...i was getting strange errors trying to connect to the SQL server until i had at least V2.xxx .net.

    I have a UITable with custom a UITableViewCells that I add a UITextField to.
    In 2.0 the magnify glass sort of worked. You could press and hold on text in the UITextField and the glass would appear. (But once appeared you couldn't drag your finger back and forth to move the cursor, but instead have to tap to move the cursor.)
    In 2.1 I can't get the glass to even appear.
    Is there something I must do to pass along events up the food chain so that the system can process the events for the magnify glass?

    Make sure your table is editable (i.e., its editable property is set to YES). Seems to work as expected when I do that. Took me a couple of weeks to figure this out! See here for more information.

    Triggers are compiled in forms so need to use only the features available to forms, which doesn't include all the new stuff in the database.
    select over partition
    NVL2They don't work in forms and reports too.
    Also if you use them in record Group
    Forms/SQL Compiler was not lined up to the database(10G).
    Meanwhile,for example. Pipelined TABLE and relative Select work in Reports AND Forms.

    query, its not working. But its owrking with with F11 and shitp + F11. I want to use F7 & F8 for enter/execute the query. I have same another same environment with same configuration, there F7
    & F8 is working fine. To enable these keys i rename fmrpcweb.res to fmrweb.res. But guide me with your sincere suggessions & experience.

    DO NOT use the TABLE_FROM_BLOCK built-in described in the
    documentation. It is reserved for internal use only. No support
    for this built-in will be provided under any circumstances.
    If you used this built-in, you will need to recode your from(s) for 10g.

  • ColorSnyc 4.6 Calculator Magnifing Glass Not Working

    I'm on a macbook pro. 10.6.2. Colorsync 4.6.2 When I use colorsync calculator, the magnification glass which is supposed to take a spot sample of a color and then tell you the what the color calculations are doesn't work. I get a circle with the whole thing either black or gray in the sample no matter where i move it. Occasionally I'll get cyan, but it does not show differnet pixels as you move over objects. I also have an iMac with intel same release OSX 10.6.2 and it works fine.
    This makes me think it's a Macbook Pro problem. Is there a fix or a way for me to try a re-install of just colorsync?

    I'm having this problem, too. But only when I hover the magnifying glass over pixels displayed on my external monitor.

  • Enable Property Not working in Form Personalization- R12

    Hi All,
    I have an requirement to grade out the button item for Production Supervisor- Batch details, The Button Item is Transact Material, This Button should be grade out always for this particular responsibility.
    See below what logic i used for this requirement in Form Personalization.
    1. For the Batch Details Form Created one Personalization with trigger condition WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE and processing mode Not in Enter-Query Mode.
    2. In Actions tab - Type : Property
    Object Type : Item
    Target Object: GME_BATCH_HEADER.TRANSACTIONS
    Property Name: ENABLED
    Value : FALSE
    After i validate it and pressed APPLY NOW- only at that time the "Transact Material" Button showed as Grade out but after i closed the personalization window and reopen the Batch Details form and am seeing that Transact Material still Enabled instead of Grade out.
    I prefectly saved the personalization window.
    I dont knw why it is working only when i see preview(APPLY NOW) option and not working once i reopen the batch details or logout the apps and reloged again still having the same issue.
    Please help me out if any one come accross this type of issue.

    Are you making the fields "required" using personalization?
    The Raise FTF action won't produce any message.
    It looks like some other code is firing before your personalization fires.
    It seems user is unable to save the record. So your requirement is achieved.
    If not, please post details of the personalization.

    Prompts are interactive, and come from the query panel. Filters are not interactive, and are set on the report or block. There are also input controls, which are interactive filters
    1. Select the universe in the list of universes to open the Query Panel.
    2. Drag the Year object to the Result Objects pane.
    3. Drag the Number of Guests object to the Query Filters pane and create a report filter that restricts Number of Guests to greater than n.
    4. Click Combined Query.
    The Combined Query pane appears in the bottom left of the Query panel with the two queries joined by UNION.
    5. Click on the second query and remove the Year and Number of Guests objects.
    6. Drag the Reservation Year object to the Result Objects pane.
    7. Drag the Future Guests object to the Query Filters pane and create a report filter that restricts the future guests to greater than n.
    8. Click Run Query.

  • Enter key not working in forms 10g

    Hi guys,
    Enter key to select a form is not working
    on my application.
    I have to double click the form to open it using the mouse.
    Then if we try to exit we have to press exit that many number of times as we have pressed enter key.
    So it seems to be storing the key processes.
    We are using forms 10g.
    Please help.

    Fixed.
    Changed KB.
    However, this is still strange as the old KB was working fine in other applications.

    Env 6i c/s 8i DB.
    SELECT REVERSE ( '321' ) FROM DUAL works in SQL*Plus but does not accept the REVERSE function from within a Trigger. I could put the logic in a Package on the DB but I'd like to know why it does not work in F6i ?

    Forms 6i uses an older version of PL/SQL than the database, so it does not recognize the newly introduced function. You will need to create a database function to call from the form.

  • Query remote table not working in PL/SQL

    I have a problem that is killing me to figure out. Basically we trying to query a remote table through PL/SQL and it comes back with invalid column name for the table. But the table exists in the remote database and has the column. The query works fine from the same database outside of PL/SQL, just not in PL/SQL. I'll setup a test case below.
    We have local database called DB1 and remote database called DB2. The table we are querying is called EMP.
    First we create database link:
    create database link DB2.WORLD connect to...
    Test the link:
    select ENAME from [email protected];
    ENAME
    SHAWN
    Works fine.
    Now we put this query inside a PL/SQL block:

    This fails with the following error:

    Now, I've tried changing how we select from the remote table, I've put the select statement in a cursor, tried creating a synonym which points to the remote table and selecting using the synonym in PL/SQL, it always returns the same error. But always works outside of PL/SQL.
    Now the user we are connecting to the remote database as, has select on the EMP table, through a role, along with 30 other tables, all the other tables are able to be selected through the database link, in PL/SQL, it's just this one table.
    Additionally I can go to another database, and create the same database link, and the query in PL/SQL works fine to the remote table. It's just this one table, from this one database, that doesn't work just in PL/SQL. Any ideas would be appreciated, I've exhausted everything.
    Also, creating a copy of the table using "create table as select * from..." we can select from the copy of the table using PL/SQL through the database link. The problem is this is a central warehouse table, and is used my multiple applications and updated constantly, so dropping a recreating this table is a last resort.
    Yes, this process did work, for over a year, then suddenly it stopped. Of course, no one made any changes to either database, that's always the case. I know the code didn't change though, it was still timestamped from a year ago.

    Could this be a variant on an old favourite, viz privileges being granted through roles. We cannot use objects in PL/SQL if our privileges are assigned through a role.
    Maybe what has changed is that instead of being granted privileges on EMP@DB2 directly the privileges have been re-organised so that your user has them granted through a role.

    I am performing forms conversion and developing new forms in Forms 9i. The problem I am running into is that :
    the SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE)
    and SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(ROOT_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE)
    in the When_new_form_instance trigger don't work.
    I've also tried adding a parameter to initiate the running mode as WEB as suggested in a response that I saw on this
    forum, with that parameter I would set the ROOT_WINDOW State to NORMAL
    then set WIDHT=800, HEIGHT=600, POSITION=0, 24.........
    but it still does not work. When I run the form, the browser opens up as a full screen, but the form only fills up the gray rectangular
    area when the Jiniator is running and loading the applet.
    If I don't set the Maximize property of the main window to Yes then the vertical and horizontal scroll bars are automatically added,
    if I do set so then no scroll bar is added and the form is cut off.
    Is it a known problem ? and is there a solution to it?

    Thanks, it worked, and I've been playing with other parameters, such as replacing the lookandfeel (this works), but splashscreen and background don't when I specified the .GIF file name, it did not display the GIF image.
