Query on a cube using abap

Hello,
i've programed a report and I want to get data from a cube in bw. How can I access them? Via MDX - ior is MDX only for external queries? I can't find a example to use the MDX functions.

Basically to report the data in Infocube BW Queries are used with which you can see the output in Excel or in a Web Page.
For Reporting in BW ABap Programs are not used as ABAP Programs does not not Provide drilldown and multi dimensional view.

I have requirement such that i need to update certain key figures in DSO after certain time.
for eg. say record with key a is loaded to DSO and currospoding key figure was loaded with value 10
after few days because of certain parameters changing in system i need to modify key figure value.
currently i am doing same using 1 self transformation i.e. by loading same data again in same DSO.
Amount of data is very huge and causing performance issues in system.
now A is not key but i need to modify record for few combinations which apperar multiple times in DSO.
Same DSO data is loaded into Cube regularly.
I may need to update data after gap of few weeks as well.
This design will be used as template and needto keep whole logic generic.
So wring Function module can make it generic.

Execute query with drill down using abap

Hello together,
I need to execute a query using abap and I need the result of the drill down on one characteristic in the query.
I try to use RRX_GRID_CMD_PROCESS to execute query, but I don't understand how to do the drill down.
I thought I have to specify somehow the name of the object on which I need to make the drill down. I tried to send this as a parameter to e_t_drill... but this is not working. I have also seen that
e_t_drill[] = g_sx_buffer-r_request->n_sx_request-drill, but this is empty.
Could you, please explain how to do this?

gets value from key date which is entered by user dynamically.
Specified the offsets of Yr start date as 0 to 365.

Activate Cube using ABAP

Hi
We have written some ABAP which allows us to do bulk updates on cubes - this is particularly useful when we're adding / removing navigational attributes, as there are many many cubes in the system.
In addition to adding the navigational attribute, the ABAP then saves and activates the cube, and all the associated update rules, which would now have become inactive. This is really useful, as it means we don't have to have someone manually making all these changes, and possibly missing something along the way.
However, what we have now found, is that although the cube is activated, and is shown as active in RSA1, and can be used in Multiproviders, the newly added Navigation Attributes are not available in the Aggregate Maintenance screen. This also means that any aggregates that were there, are now not available, which is clearly not ideal.
The 2 standard SAP FM's that are used to SAVE and ACTIVATE the cubes are:
1. RSDG_CUBE_SAVE
2. RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE
We have found a manual fix to the problem, which is to open the cube in edit mode from RSA1, save it, go back to RSA1 (don't activate yet), re-open the cube in edit mode, then activate. If these steps are followed, then the navigational attribute is available in the aggregate maintenance screen.
I found a note which speaks about table /bic/v[cube name]2 not being updated, but that note only applies to APO. What I have noticed, is that:
- when the navigational attribute is added, it appears in the table
- if the manual fix (open/save/exit/open/activate) is followed, then the order of the items in the V2 table is changed
Has anyone written a similar program that I could possibly leach some ideas off, as I really would like to get this sorted.

RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE - as mentioned in my original post, I already use this FM in my ABAP. It activates the cube, but still the navigational attributes are not available, and the V2 table is not updated.
If I debug the SAVE routine from RSA1, then it appears there is something additional happening in the SAP standard program, that I am not able to accomplish by using the RSDG_CUBE_SAVE FM.
Transfer Structures - doesn't matter whether I activate these or not, the navigational attributes are not available.

Delete Requests of a Cube using ABAP routine

I have written a ABAP code to get all the requests of a cube. Now I want to delete all the requests which are older than 1 year through this ABAP routine. Please help.

I create one infoset query with additional fields (using ABAP code) in R/3. When I create datasource RSO2 using this infoset query, system only show all fields without additional fields that I enhanced in infoset query. Does that mean we can not get additional fields information in generic datasource creation that we enhanced in infoset query?

you are enhanced some fields in r/3.right that fields are shown in
rsa6 select your data source click on display your datasource then select
extract structure its shows how many fields are haveing particular
datasource .or otherwise goto rso2 select your data source display
double click on your extractstructure its show how many fields haveing
the particular datasource. check the Rsa6 what ever fields you newly added that field default hide mode
you remove the hide tickmark.

Create Target Group in CRM from BW Query in Bex analuzer using program.

I want to create Target Group in CRM from BW Query in Bex analuzer using ABAP program RSCRMBW_TG_GENERATE_BUPA .
I did all the setting and enable the Release the OLE DB for OLAP.
The Target group is created but the Data from the report(BW query ) is not populated in the target group.
Please help me what i need to do?

What do you mean "It Not Working"？ As Kamath said, please post the detail error message, so that we can make further analysis.
In the Data Source View of a CUBE, we can define a named query. In a named query, you can specify an SQL expression to select rows and columns returned from one or more tables in one or more data sources. A named query is like any other table in a data source
view (DSV) with rows and relationships, except that the named query is based on an expression.

Getting an error when i am execution a BI query using ABAP.

Hi Expert,
I am getting an error when i am execution a BI query using ABAP. Its Giving me this Error "The Info Provider properties for GHRGPDM12 are not the same as the system default" and in the error analysis it saying as bellow.
Property Data Integrity has been set differently to the system default.
Current setting: 0 for GHRGPDM12
System default: u2019 7 u2018
As I am very new to BI and have very limited knowledge, so I am not able to understand this problem. Can any one help me to resolving this issue. Previously it as working fine, I am getting this error last 2 days.

Execute a query using ABAP (XSLT transformation issue)

Hello,
I made the steps from this blog (part I, II and III).

When trying to run the XSLT transformation, I got the message that : XML invalid source file.
I am not sure what are the steps for running a transformation, or running it for this case ,maybe something it's not ok. I just run it, did not provide any information.
Any suggestions ? Did anyone use the function module described in this blog ?

and check - sometimes the codepages configured in the BW system tend to cause an issue... I am not sure if the syntax is right though - but you are basically trying to bypass any encoding that is happening in the query transformation....

How to use ABAP Class to modify Web Query Result ??

Hi all !
We are using Web Templates to display our Query.
What I would like to do ( and seems a really important issue for our users! ) is to have a "PAGE BREAK" everytime the value of a charateristics change in the report
For Example :
-Page 1-
Division     Project
   A               1
                    2
                    3
-Page 2-
Division     Project
   B               1
                    2
                    3
and so on....
I read threads about using ABAP CLASS but no example what so ever...
We are presently under BW 3.1 but are considering upgrading to 7.0 by the end of the year so if there is a solution to my problem on either version i'd like to know.
If anyone has any information about how I can do this it would be most appreciated

Generating a report using ABAP query

Hi All,
I want to generate a anlytical report using ABAP query, There are 3 different transactions/steps have to be executed to get this data in an actionable form.
1. MB52 - Unrestricted Stock
2. ZCustomquery - Custom query in SAP R3
3. Combine above two in a single report.
Please suggest me how can i proceed,
1. Example i have created query name called Finalrepot
2. How can i call above zcustomquery and Transaction (MB52) in the Query.

Hi,
ABAP/4 query can be designed in four steps
1.     Creation of a user group
2.     Creation of Infoset
3.     Assignment of user group to Infoset
4.     Creation of the query based on Infoset
By executing the transaction codes mentioned below
u2022     SQ01   ABAP/4 Query
u2022     SQ02   Infosets
u2022     SQ03   User group
Step 1: To create an Infoset without a logical database
One of the following can be selected
u2022     Based on a single table
u2022     Using an ABAP/4 program
u2022     Using Table Joins
u2022     Using Sequential Dataset
NOTE: The tables to be used in the join should have at least one field in common i.e. it should have the same name, domain or data element.
Step 2: Here you specify the users who should be authorized to run the query. A user group is always associated with a Infoset.
Step 3: In Query Definition you can define the Selections Screen. Here you can check against the fields(fields from the tables specified in the infoset above) that you require to be shown on the selection screen.
Now we Finally need to specify the output type for the query as Basic List, Statistics or Ranked List. Choose the option Basic List and also select the fields to be displayed in the output list(in your case from and to fields...)
After providing all the above options you can save the query and execute it by clicking the Execute button twice.
