Query on Changing Domain Value ...
Hi All,
I have a requirement in which i have to change the Value range of a domain while executing a program...
Is there any FM available to achieve this functionality.... Kindly provide pointers to achieve my requirement...
Regards,
Navin.
Hi
<b>I have already replied this in my earlier post.</b>
<u>Use the following Function module - RPY_DOMAIN_READ to read the Domain values in a program and use them as per your requirements.</u>
<b>Sample code</b>
CALL FUNCTION 'RPY_DOMAIN_READ'
EXPORTING
activation_type_i = 'M'
doma_name = 'DOMAIN' <<<<<- UseYour domain name here
language = sy-langu
TABLES
doma_values = i_values <<<--- Returns domain values
EXCEPTIONS
cancelled = 1
not_found = 2
permission_error = 3
illegal_type = 4
OTHERS = 5.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
ENDIF.
Incase you need any other details, let me know.
Hope this will help.
Please reward suitable points, incase it suits your requirements.

Domain value Mapping for Supply chain and order management analytics
Hi Experts.
I'm new to BI Applications. I'm configuring Oracle Supply chain analytics and order management analytics and i see in the configuration guide that we need to
Map each Status Code to one domain value. I dont understand what this means? what is meant by domain value and how can we map the data retreived by the query with the domain values.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks
RajeshHi Deepak.
Our functional analysts dont understand what domain values means. they have run the query but since they dont understand what Domain values means they could not proceed.
Pls could you give an example of how to map the data retrieved with the domain values ?
Appreciate your help
Thanks
Rajesh

Overwrite existing Domain values with new one
Hi All,
I have an existing database (It is not an SAP table, it was made for client, but I am not supposed to modify it). But, my issue is that, I have to change the values of domain used in it to new values.
For e.g.
Current Values are 1 - ADD, 2 - NOT POSSIBLE and so on
New values to be added: 1 - ADDITION 2- ADDITION NOT POSSIBLE.
I tried using 'Fixed Value Append', but I want to overwrite the values with new ones.
Please suggest me if there is any method to do it.
Thanks.Hi,
I don't understand if it a Z-table what is the problem in changing domain and why you are not supposed to change it since the task is assigned to you.
Anyways, even if you write a code to change domain values, you would have to then get it moved to production for changes to reflect. Also, I don't think you would have the authorization to change table entries directly. Also this will result in inconsistency in various clients for domain values..
The better solution would be, get authorization to change domain values, create transport request for this and get it moved to subsequent systems.
Thanks.

when I use IP to planning I want to change characterices values that have exit in query?Hi,
On the properties tab of the characteristics (within input query) you can decide what values need to be populated when the query opens.
Is your exit written on char relationship?

How do I change the query based on parameter value
hi,
Based on parameter value I want to change my query. If paramter value is 'O' i want the 'order by depno' in query if the value is null i don't want the order by clause.
How do I achieve this.
Thanks
RamU can use lexical parameter
i.e u create one user parameter and in query
u use this parameter with ¶m_name
ex.
select val,prize from stock where sr_no > :srno
orderby &ord_by
here ord_by is lexical parameter
and set its intial value to 'sr_no'
so u can get result order by sr_no
this parameter is set from form so u will give condition in form and depending
on condition u will pass this parameter from form. -
Change the value of a variable used in a View query
I am using JDeveloper 11g to develop a simple portlet application which displays data loaded from database. I am displaying the data by dragging the ViewObject from the AppModuleDataControl to the View.jspx page and selecting the option ADF Read-only Table. My ViewObject has a single variable :empId. Now is it possible to change the value of this variable with a value that comes from the request object. On the internet I found the following code:
FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
Application app = facesContext.getApplication();
ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
ELContext elContext = facesContext.getELContext();
ValueExpression valueExp =
elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, "#{data.AppModuleDataControl.dataProvider}",
Object.class);
ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)valueExp.getValue(elContext);
ViewObject emplVO;
emplVO = am.findViewObject("EmployeeView1");
emplVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("empId", "1");I have put this code in the public void processAction(ActionRequest request, ActionResponse response) method. However this does not work when I deploy it.
Does anyone know if the above code is correct in this case and if there is a better way how I can set this up?Hi there:
Did you add a break point and debug the code to see what is the value for the :empid parameters passed in to your view object?
If you are sure you have passed in the correct value for ":empid" parameter, then do the following:
String amDef = "yourAmDef";
String config = "yourConfig";
ApplicationModule am =
Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef,config);
ViewObject emplVO;
emplVO = am.findViewObject("EmployeeView1");
emplVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("empId", "1");
empVO.executeQuery();
which will execute your view object with the new bind variable value and refresh the view.
Please mark my answer as 'Correct' if it solves your problem, or 'Helpful' if it does.
Thanks,
Alex

Dynamci Query Result View - New Field with domain values
Hi,
I added to the result list a new field (using an append structure). Than I added it to the layout. This field contains a number, which will be translated into text by domain values. But in my result view only the number will be displayed. Any idea how I can display the text instead of the ID?
Thanks in advance Paul.Hi Paul,
You can display the domain text by fetching it in the corresponding GETTER method. The GETTER will be sending the ID; you can add extra code to fetch the corresponding text ID in the getter and return this in rv_value.

Domain Value Lookup for EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY CODE in the W_EMPLOYMENT_D
Hello friends,
When I query the EBS with following code to put the data in the configuration file
SELECT DISTINCT SYSTEM_PERSON_TYPE, USER_PERSON_TYPE
FROM PER_PERSON_TYPES
WHERE SYSTEM_PERSON_TYPE IN ('EMP','CWK','OTHER','EMP_APL','EX_EMP','EX_EMP_
APL','RETIREE','PRTN')
ORDER BY 1,2
I get output as follows
CWK Contingent Worker
EMP Employee
EMP_APL Employee and Applicant
EX_EMP Ex-employee
OTHER Candidate
OTHER Contact
OTHER External
PRTN Participant
RETIREE Retiree
So, I want to put the data in the configuration file, what about other columns.
USER_PERSON_TYPE SYS_PERSON_TYPE W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_CODE W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_DESC W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_CODE W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_DESC
How should I fill the columns marked with bold.
Please helpI have the same problem. I currently have an open service request on this so will post any response I get from the oracle product manager. In the meantime here is a bit more detail on the issue...
This is step
Oracle® Business Intelligence Applications
Configuration Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users
Version 7.9.6.1 E14844-01
7 Configuring Oracle Human Resources Analytics
7.2.2 Configuration Steps for Oracle HR Analytics for Oracle EBS
7.2.2.3 How to Configure the domainValues_Employment_Cat_ora.csv
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14847_01/bia.796/e14844.pdf
The task is to map the 2 source dependent values (left hand side) to the 4 source independent domain (W_) values (right hand side). Unlike other similar steps in this case the set of possible domain values is ambiguous.
On my system the source dependent values - the left hand side of the csv spreasdsheet are
Agency Contractor,EMP
Employee,EMP
Ltd Company Contractor,EMP
PAYE Contractor,EMP
Employee and Applicant,EMP_APL
Ex-Agency Contractor,EX_EMP
Ex-employee,EX_EMP
Ex-Ltd Company Contractor,EX_EMP
Ex-PAYE Contractor,EX_EMP
Ex-employee and Applicant,EX_EMP_APL
Contingent Worker,CWK
External,OTHER
Candidate,OTHER
Contact,OTHER
Participant,PRTN
Retiree,RETIREE
the configuration document says
"When editing CSV files, make sure that you: Do not add new values, other than the values present in the CSV file, to the columns with the name format W_ columns. In other words, if you add new rows to the spreadsheet, then the columns with the name format W_ values must map to those in the default spreadsheet. If you add new columns with the name format W_ values, then you must customize the affected mappings."
The reason you should not change the domain values is because these values tend to be "hard coded" in the ETL/RRD/requests to provide the various metrics. "Incorrect mappings may result in inaccurate calculations of Oracle Business Intelligence metrics. Some sessions may fail if these procedures are not compiled in the database before running the workflows."
the default out of the box lookup file
domainValues_Employment_Cat_ora11i.csv
has 7 mappings
USER_PERSON_TYPE,SYS_PERSON_TYPE,W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_CODE,W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_DESC,W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_CODE,W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_DESC
Employee,EMP,EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_REGULAR,Regular Employee
Expatriate,EMP,EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_EXPATRIATE,Expatriate
Temporary,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TEMP,Agency/Temp
Contingent Worker,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_CONTINGENT,Contractor
Contractor,EMP,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_CONTRACTOR,Contractor
Student,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_INTERN,Intern
Trainee,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TRAINEE,Trainee
that gives 2 employment categories
EMPLOYEE or CONTINGENT
with 6 possible combinations with sub category
EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_REGULAR,Regular Employee
EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_EXPATRIATE,Expatriate
CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TEMP,Agency/Temp
CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_CONTINGENT,Contractor
CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_INTERN,Intern
CONTINGENT.Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TRAINEE,Trainee
Normally the source independent W_* domain values, that is, the right hand side of the csv spreadsheet that you map your source values to, are listed in the Data Model Reference.
My Oracle Support Document ID 819373.1 BIAPPSDMR796_RevA.pdf
Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse Data Model Reference Version 7.9.6
In this case - the domain values listed in the data model reference are ...
Table 3–6 lists the values for the Employee Category domain value for W_EMPLOYMENT_D.
//"W_EMPLOYEE_CAT_CODE","W_EMPLOYEE_CAT_DESC", "Source"
"CONTRACTOR", "CONTRACTOR", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
"DIRECT", "DIRECT", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
"INDIRECT", "INDIRECT", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
"OTHER", "OTHER", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
"REGULAR", "REGULAR", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
"TEMPORARY", "TEMPORARY", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
This is confusing because
i) the category values are differnet to those in default file (EMPLOYEE or CONTINGENT)
ii) the DMR document has no listing of the possible sub categories
So the question is - what do you map your source values to? The instructions are not clear! The only way I can think to find out for sure is to do an impact analysis of the ETL's / RPD / requests to find instances of hard coded values for the domain values. -
Domain Value Mapping with Text file
Hai,
I have done the Domain value mapping with the xml file to xml file and it is working fine.
But in the case of Text file to Text file it is not working i.e. If the citiname is the
first field it is domain value mapping and working fine.
INPUT:
Erode, Mahes, 22
Coimbatore, Veera, 22
OUTPUT:
ED, Mahes, 22
CBE, Veera, 22
But if I change the Citiname to the second column it is not working the problem is
it is not working for subsequent columns.
INPUT:
Mahes, Erode, 22
Veera, Coimbatore, 22
OUTPUT:
Mahes,, 22
Veera,, 22
The input Text files are delimited by "comma" and optionally enclosed by "space".
Does anyone have attained the DVM in the Text file successfully.
Please help me.Thank you for the reply Abhi
Text to Text means instead of giving the input file as XML file i am giving the input as a simple .txt file and I also want the output in the .txt format.
For the text file only it is not working fine in the xml file to xml file it is working fine.
For your another query I am not providing the correct parameters for "lookup-dvm"
I am giving the xsl file

Here I am checking the DVM function for the Second column and it is not working and I have given their Inputs and Outputs in my first message .
I have another question as you told both import and export of the DVM is always in the XML format only so I have a doubt whether the lookup-dvm will be working for xml files only and not for text files.
But in my case in text file it is working for the first column but not in the subsequent columns.
Thanks. -
Change display value of "select list"
Hi!
I have a problem with a select list, I want to change the display value through an own pop up (page 5 of apex application) after I submit in it.
The select list is based on a sql query:
select A_NAME display_value, A_ID return_value
from APPLICATIONS
where a_application_type='GROUP'
order by 1
beside I have an link to open a pop up window:
... onClick="window.open ('f?p=&APP_ID.:5:&SESSION.::::', 'newWin',
'scrollbars=no,status=no,width=500,height=270' ...
On the pop up site there is a tree and a submit button which close the window and renew the original page:
javascript:window.opener.location.reload();window.close();
Through the tree I get the value (Group-ID) which I need.
When I'm back on page 4 a "before header" renew page process links again on the side 4 and change the value of my select list. Afterwards the values have changed correctly but the display value is still the old one. It only change when i go on an other page of the apex application and come back.
I don't know why it doesn't change immediately!?
Thanks aheadI have done with a solution just in a nutshell of what u r looking for:
1.create HTML region.
Add two items : Select list with redirect(P6_X) and text field(P7_X)
2. Select list is based on LOV query as :
select empno d,empno r from emp ;
Source value is Empno Type:DBcolumn.
3.The text field Source type : SQL Query .
Query : select ename from emp where empno = :P6_X
Now select from the dropdown empno and it will populate the Ename value accordingly based on the query .
U can have more than one text fields and populate those in the same way.....
Cheers,

Error in Domain value mapping.
Dear all,
I was trying a simple file to file scenario using ESB with the Domain value mapping(DVM).
I was trying to replace the incoming long state codes with the short keywords.
I was using the DVM to configure the field to be changed in the XSL map.
I have also configured tracking fields for Routing service and the Outbound adapter in the ESB Console.
But after the instance the long names are not replaced with short keywords it come as blank in the place of names.
In the ESB console the RS is tracking the fields and the outbound adapter not. I was using a simle text file which has two columns Andrew, Bangalore delimited by comma and optionally enclosed by space.
Please help me.Thanks for the reply Chintan,
Yes it is not working, I was doing the esb-customerdvm.pdf sample DVM as specified in the following link
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/files/esb-customerdvm.pdf
My map also has three columns and I was the specifying Map name, Source column name as "Long" and the target column name as "Short" and the default value as "" in the lookup-dvm function in the XSL stylesheet.
And I have also specified the trackable fields for the Routing service and the Outbound adapter in the ESB Console but after the instance only the RS shows the tracked data and the Outbound adapter doesnot and it shows Nodata.
When I give the Input as the text file with columns Prasath, Chennai in the output file the Prasath is only coming what I expect is Chennai should be replaced by its short name CH but it is not coming like that.
Here I also specify the coding of XSL Stylesheet map.

Hi,
I need to know how we can change the values of annotation dynamically.Annotations in source code must be compile-time constants. The annotation objects returned by the runtime are immutable.
That said, there are a few ways to get the effect of changing annotation values. First, you can use the redefine classes API and then getting a new annotation object will have the updated values. Also, an annotation type is just a specialized kind of interface and that interface can be implemented by your own classes too. -
PORTAL DOESN'T WORK (error:WWC-41439) after CHANGED DOMAIN NAME OF MACHINE.
machine transferred to other location and domain name got changed.I did following
1)changed the old domain to new domain name in jserv.properties file and also in the httpd.conf file.
2)I figured out that intable PORTAL30_SSO.WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$,the value of column LSNR_TOKEN is= "old doamin "
and LS_LOGIN_URL is =
http://old.domain:7777/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
PLease let me know how I can change old domain values with new doamin in this table.I want to be sure that this change will not affect the old portal application.
PLease try to help resolve the issue ASAP.
