Query regarding iSupplier Custom Extensions

Hi,
We had to extend a seeded VO for iSupplier custom Extensions.
But the difficulty now is how do we test it in the local JDeveloper, before deploying it on the server.
We zipped all the directories/files under JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/pos/ and unzipped them in the myclasses/oracle/apps/pos folder.
But when i try to run the page i am taken to the login page with the Error as
"Unexpected URL parameters have been detected and will be ignored."
In the project settings, earlier the Application short name was AK and its corresponding responsibity key. But since i was getting the above error, i set the Application short name as "POS" and the corresponding responsibility key as "ISUPPLIER_PORTAL_RESP". But still the error persists.
Is there anything that i am missing out here?

This error has nothing related to jdev settings, it seems to be arrived by the url params expected by the CO of the page, which it would be getting in instance and not getting local jdev.
To resolve this issue see the CO code and see what url params it is taking from url. Run this page on instance see the value of that url params and hard code in local jdev page CO, for local testing.

Im having Bt Infinity installed on thursday and I want to have Hub in the room upstairs where the pc is located.My master socket is downstairs in the hall. I had Infinity installed last week with a similar setup to what you describe. The OR guy made the existing extension socket upstairs the master and the downstairs socket which was the master an extension. He used a spare pair of cores in the existing extension cable to do this so no additional wiring as such was required. Everything works just as it should.

WAD - Custom Extension

I have the following scenario:
In the web application I would like to call some ABAP class. In this class I want to execute SQL-query to get some data from database. At the end I'd like to show this data in my web template.
I found custom extension item. Is it the right item to solve this task, or maybe you have some other suggestions

Hi Sven,
it is possible to call ABAP class with custom extension item. I implemented it and it works fine.
In web item you can choose either java class or ABAP class.

How to use customer extension table for schedule line for shopping cart ?

I guess you use SRM 7.0. Please go to IMG.
SRM -> SRM Server -> Cross-Application Basic Settings -> Extensions and Field Control (Personalization) -> Create Table Extensions and Supply with Data

Use Custom Extension Web Item to Retrieve DSO Data Directly

Hi experts,
Is it possible to use Custom Extension Item in BEx WAD to retrieve DSO data directly? The idea is to display master data for a line item (e.g. customer name, id, address etc.) in the header section of a Web Template. If it is possible, how can I implement that?
If not, is there any other possibility to fulfill the requirement?

Idoc Types with customer extension in XI

Hello,
I have a question / problem.
Is it possible to import an IDOC Type like HRMD_A06 with an customer extension like ZRMD_A06 into XI ?
I have no idea how that could works ...

Hi,
You can import IDoc structure with extensions also. It will be same as importing normal idoc structure.
We have done many like that in our project.

Extension Manager is only responsible for the installation and management of extensions. Your question is about how to implement the functionalities of your extension. I am not clear about it. I am afraid you should post the question to the forum of corresponding product.

How to deploy customer extensions in EJB-Server?

Hello,
I would like to know, what is the best way to deploy customer extensions
to a J2EE application (which is deployed as an .ear file) .
I am using a configurable dynamic class loading to allow product
customization (usually implementations of interfaces).
I know some possible solutions, but...
1. solution: the customer provides its product extensions as a jar file
which is then located in the classpath of the J2EE server.
But I dislike this solution, beause it requires a server restart if the
customer extensions are redeployed and further on, depending on the
customer company's security restricition, no access to the J2EE server's
CLASSPATH might be granted.
2. solution: the customer opens the .ear file of our product, adds its
extension.jar to it and the extension.jar has to have a predefined name.
By that we can make sure, that the classloader finds this jar (because
it can be referenced in the classpath of the manifest.mf of the ejb.jar,
it will do no harm, if it does not exist).
What do you think about this?
Are there other possible solutions?

iis doesnt have jsp engine to work on ur jsp..it can rather redirects to ur webserver where u can put ur jsp and make it run ther..

Let say if wanna populate one column in analysis web item when query's running like what virtual characteristic does.
Could I do it by this custom extension ?
I see on the properties pane of this web item, I see the properties list that can be filled it on. My question, what property that I should put at there. If I have a purpose to populate 1 column in my data provider on fly / when query is running ?

How to delete custom extensions

Dear Members,
I have extended the CO of the page 'Supplier Base Management: Register User'
After extended the CO, I opened the respective page and at the responsibility level I have given the wrong CO Path. Now when I am trying to go back to the page to change the path, it is giving an error.
The error is like this:
Could not create java class this is probably because the class name is wrong or not included in the page.
I just want to know how to delete or update the custom extension which I gave in this page.

1.I invoke a procedure in Oracle called submit thru my Java application.
The submit procedure saves the XML data in the database
and displays this data in a Front End GUI.
2. Now,I make a change in my Java application by adding new elements to the same row.This row now contains additional XML elements.
I would like to display the new row with the new elements in the GUI.
What is a better option for doing the above?
1.Delete the row being shown,save the new row with the changes in the database,and re display it?
2.Or,Update the row dynamically and refresh?

Thanks,If you delete (it seems to me yours this process is regular and frequent) and re insert the new updated one record then High water mark will cause to scan yours table which may cause to degrade the performance.AFAIK you should go with update.But hold down dont implement it as i suggested lets see what are others solution here which may be more precious then mine.

Questions regarding Adobe Reader Extensions for Adobe Livecycle.

Hi,
I'm relatively new to Adobe products, having just started to use Adobe Livecycle over the last couple of weeks. I've produced a set of interactive forms for field engineers to use. When completed, they will submit the xml data via email. However, there will be numerous occasions where they will need to stop in the middle of data collection and come back at a later point to finish, hence the need to locally save the information before submission.
I understand this is where Adobe reader extensions would come in, unlocking this functionality.
At the moment, i'm a bit of a loss on several points regarding how reader extensions work and i was wondering if anybody could fill in the gaps:
1. Are they seperate modules that bolt in into the main Livecycle application?
2. As these forms will be used off line, i would like to set the permissions to the pdf locally. From what i read, Reader Extensions is a server product. Is this correct, or can i use Reader Extensions to set these permissions before publishing the adobe form?
3. Where can i get hold of Reader Extensions and how much do they cost? I have been reading information on similar topics on this forum (dating 3-4 years ago) that say reader extensions are comparitavely expensive to a Adobe Pro/Livecycle licence. ($50,000 upwards) Is this correct? If so, is there a cheaper alternative to achieve the same outcome?

Reader Extensions can be bought as a module in LiveCycle. There is a subset of RE functionality that exists in Acrobat. The ability to save locally is part of Acrobat. In both cases you woudl RE the form before distributing it, hence when the user gets your form they are ready to go. You can download a trial version of the server product. As far as pricing goes you woudl be better to talk to an Adobe salesrep as there are discounts for certain situations as well as different pricing options. If you decide tp gp the Acrobat route you ar limited, by licence, to distribute your form to a max of 500 users.

A query regarding synchronised functions, using shared object

I have this little query, regarding the functions that are synchronised, based on accessing the lock to the object, which is being used for synchronizing.
Ok, I will clear myself with the following example :
class First

synchronized((Integer) a)
{ // function logic
} // End of func_three, WHICH IS ACTUALLY NOT ALLOWED,

synchronized((Integer) b)
{ / function logic
} // End of func_four
First obj1 = new First();
First obj2 = new First();
Note that the four functions are different on the following criteria :
a) Whether the function is static or non-static.
b) Whether the object on which synchronization is based is a static, or a non-static member of the class.
Now, first my-thoughts; kindly correct me if I am wrong :
a) In case 1, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a non-static object. Thus, effectively, there is no-synchronisation, since in case obj1 and obj2 happen to call the func_one at the same time, obj1 will obtain lock for obj1.a; and obj2 will obtain lock to obj2.a; and both can go inside the supposed-to-be-synchronized-function-but-actually-is-not merrily.
Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
b) In case 2, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a static object. Here, again if obj1, and obj2 happen to call the function at the same time, obj1 will try to obtain lock for obj1.a; while obj2 will try to obtain lock for obj2.a. However, since obj1.a and obj2.a are the same, thus we will indeed obtain sychronisation.
Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
c) In case 3, we have a static function , synchronized on a non-static object. However, Java does not allow functions of this type, so we may safely move forward.
d) In case 4, we have a static function, synchronized on a static object.
Here, again if obj1, and obj2 happen to call the function at the same time, obj1 will try to obtain lock for obj1.a; while obj2 will try to obtain lock for obj2.a. However, since obj1.a and obj2.a are the same, thus we will indeed obtain sychronisation. But we are only partly done for this case.
First, Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
Now, I have a query : what happens if the call is made in a classically static manner, i.e. using the statement "First.func_four;".
Another query : so far we have been assuming that the only objects contending for the synchronized function are obj1, and obj2, in a single thread. Now, consider this, suppose we have the same reference obj1, in two threads, and the call "obj1.func_four;" happens to occur at the same time from each of these threads. Thus, we have obj1 rying to obtain lock for obj1.a; and again obj1 trying to obtain lock for obj1.a, which are the same locks. So, if obj1.a of the first thread obtains the lock, then it will enter the function no-doubt, but the call from the second thread will also succeed. Thus, effectively, our synchronisation is broken.
Or am I being dumb ?

Apart from the coding bug noted below, there would be synchronization between different threads using the same instance of First.

which are the same locks. So, if obj1.a of the first thread obtains the lock, then it will enter the function no-doubt, but the call from the second thread will also succeed.Of course it won't. Your reasoning here makes zero sense..Once First.b is locked it is locked. End of story.
Thus, effectively, our synchronisation is broken.No it isn't. The second thread will wait on the same First.b object that the first thread has locked.
However in any case you have a much bigger problem here. You're autoboxing your local 'int' variable to a possibly brand-new Integer object every call, so there may be no synchronization at all.
You need:
Object a = new Object();
static Object b = new Object();

Need to get filename from custom extension

Hello,
I am currently writing a custom extension and I'm having a tough time trying to get the filename of the document (java file) of the currently selected (and opened) file. So I have a java file open and right click on it to launch my extension. How do I get information on that document?
Also is there javadocs for the extsnsion API's? If so where are they located.

Hi Bill,
You can find javadoc on the extension API via the help system (JDeveloper Extension SDK topic under the Reference section). Alternatively, you can extract the contents of the ${jdevhome}/jdev/doc/ohj/jdev-doc.jar to a directory somewhere to view the javadoc in a browser.
To get the filename of a document, assuming you're using 10g (not much different from 9.0.x), you need to get an instance of oracle.ide.addin.Context. Normally, you'll have a Context instance because you're implementing your logic in a Controller or a Command subclass. If not, you can obtain one using:
Ide.getMainWindow().getLastActiveView().getContext()Once you have the context, you can get the current selection from it. If that selection implements oracle.ide.model.Locatable, it has a URL. From the URL, you can get the filename:

Query regarding the conversion of DME file in MT940 format.

Hello Experts,
I have a query regarding the generation of MT940 file after generating the payment file from other DME tree.
After completion of payment run, my payment file is generated in the DME format which is according to the DME tree.
I want to convert the DME file (which is generated via F110) from existing format to the standard MT940 format.
Is there any standard program which converts the DME file to MT940. If so, please inform me as early.
I have tried to upload the DME file in FF.5 transaction, but it is not allowing me to convert the file in MT940 structure.
Or please inform the steps how i can convert the file .
