Question about insertitem in component interface

Hi:
I'm using component interface in my work and face a question. When I use InsertItem function in peoplecode, I'm confused about its relationship with ActiveRowCount property of Row class. I need to check the data inserted in the record, so I put logic in component fieldchange event, uses ActiveRowCount to loop in the record to check every one row .
In the PIA, if we insert one row(by click add button) for some record, ActiveRowCount seems include the row you just insert even if you have not click save button. But when I use InsertItem and triggered a FieldChange event, ActiveRowCount in this event seems not include the new row inserted by InsertItem function. It is quite different from inserting in PIA. I'm not sure whether I uses InsertItem in a wrong way or it is just a mechanism that component interface implemented to exclude InsertItem inserted row in ActiveRowCount ? Hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot.

That doesn't make sense to me. Regardless of whether you are going through the PIA or through a Component Interface, your ActiveRowCount should increment the same.
Is it possible that maybe your CI code is inserting into a different RowSet than what you are doing online through the PIA?
I don't know if this terminology helps --
Online via PIA | Component Interface
RowSet = Collection
ActiveRowCount = Count
Row = Collection
Field = Property
Also be sure that your FieldChange is getting triggered after you insert the row. I am not sure how you are viewing the ActiveRowcount. If it is a message, I would assume that shows up in the message collection. The message collection will just queue the messages and you can check them at the end. So, what could happen is that your field change is getting triggered first and the message gets added to the collection. Then, you could insert the row. Then, you could check messages and see the count from before the row insert yet it looks like after the row insert. You might consider printing all your messages from the collection right before the row insert and deleting any pending messages.
If you would like to post some of your code, maybe we can help more. Hope that much helps.

  • Question about throws exception in interface and realized class

    Hi,all
    If I define a method In the interface like that-
    public void Execute() throws NumberFormatException; In the realized class, I can define this method like that-
    public void Execute() throws RuntimeException{
            System.out.println("test");
    }This is a right realization. But if I manage it to throws Exception or to throws Throwable in the class it leads a error. Why add this restrict only to Exception? What is the purpose of this way?
    Greetings and thanks,
    Jason

    When you say "throws NumberFormatException" you are really saying:
    When using classes implementing this interface, you have to be prepared to deal with them throwing a NumberFormatException. Other exceptions won't happen.
    When you come to implement it, it might not be possible for it to throw a NumberFormatException, so there's no reason why you should have to lie about that. Code handling it directly will be fine (it doesn't throw a NFE) and code handling it via the interface will be fine (it will handle NFEs, they just don't happen).
    If your concrete implementation throws other sorts of exception, such as Exception or IOException, and so on, it's incompatible with code that's manipulating the interface. The interface says "NFEs might get thrown, nothing else will." while your implementation says "IOExceptions might get thrown".
    So that explains why you can't use arbitrary exceptions. The special case is RuntimeException. RuntimeExceptions don't have to be caught, and it's expected that they can happen at any time - so there's no point trying to catch and handle them as a general case.
    The classic example of a RuntimeException is a NullPointerException. You don't need to declare your method as throwing a NullPointerException even though it might get thrown. And you don't have to add NullPointerException to the throws part of the interface definition, because you already know that the concrete implementation could throw a NPE at any time.
    Hope that helps (a little).
    I'd recommend reading the API documentation on RuntimeException and Exception to get a clearer insight into this.
    Dave.

  • Question about Intel 82801FBM LPC Interface Controller in a Tecra A3X

    I have had to replace the HDD in a A3X. XP pro sp2 loaded fine and all's well but the device mngr is reporting this Intel 82801FBM LPC Interface Controller as an Unknown Device.
    The Intel Chipset ID Utility identifies this as a component of the Chipset 82915GM/GMS/910 GML
    I have run the Intel software update utility several times with no joy.
    I can find reference's to this driver but cannot find a download for it.
    Like I said the laptop seems to running fine except for this Unknown Device.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated

    Hi,
    "Dont go to the seas when you can fish from the coast" - quoted the user from another forum which wrote this solution for your problem:
    1)Go into device manager
    2) Right click 82801
    3) Update driver
    4) No, not this time -> next
    5) Install from a specifin location -> next
    6) Dont search I will choose... -> next
    7) From the left box choose Intel and from the right scroll down until you meet this strange 82801FMB.... -> next
    Thats it!
    Thanks to google. :)

  • Question about declaring type as interface

    Hi
    I am trying to get my head around declaring an object as the interface type (I think this is right correct me if I am wrong). Ok so I understand if I declare my object reference as the interface I will only get the methods of the interface defined in the objects class..? ie
    List myList = new ArrayList();I think any method particular to ArrayList will not be there. But I dont actually understand wha is happening here, I have a ref to a List but the object is actually an ArrayList?
    So if I passed ths list to a session object and got it out I could cast it back to the interface. I dont understand why or what is happening here.
    I hope someone understands my question enough that they can help me out, this has been nugging me for a while.
    Thanks

    I am trying to get my head around declaring an object
    as the interface type (I think this is right correct
    me if I am wrong). Ok so I understand if I declare my
    object reference as the interface I will only get the
    methods of the interface defined in the objects
    class..? ie
    List myList = new ArrayList();I think any method particular to ArrayList will not
    be there. If you use myList without casting, then, yes, only List's methods will be available, because all the compiler knows is that it's a reference to a List. It doesn't know that at runtime it will point to an ArrayList object.
    You could cast myList to ArrayList to get ArrayList-specific things (if there are any), but a) if you're not careful, you can end up with a ClassCastException at runtime (you won't here, but in general you can) and b) if you're going to do that, you have to question why you declared it as a List in the first place. There are cases where casting is appropriate, but you have to be careful.
    But I dont actually understand wha is
    happening here, I have a ref to a List but the object
    is actually an ArrayList?Yes.
    So if I passed ths list to a session object and got
    it out I could cast it back to the interface. I dont
    understand why or what is happening here.You could cast it to anything that the object actually is, that is, any of its superclasses and superinterfaces. If it's an ArrayList, you could cast it to any of the following: ArrayList, AbstractList, AbstractCollection, Object, Serializable, Cloneable, Iterable, Collection, List, RandomAccess.

  • Questions about AS2 Tree Component (Flash CS3)

    I have Flash application with a Tree component on the Stage. I'm using an XML file to create the structure of the Tree component.
    Each entry on my XML has the attributes id, label, heading, desc, and icon.
    My problem is that I can't seem to be able to set the Tree to default with the first node open.
    My code is:
    var xmlTreeData:XML = new XML();
    xmlTreeData.onLoad = function() {
    mTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
    xmlTreeData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlTreeData.load("xml/treeValues1.xml");
    mTree.setStyle("fontSize","11");
    mTree.setStyle("selectionColor","0xE0E0E0");
    mTree.setStyle("useRollOver",false);
    mTree.setIsOpen(mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0), true);
    My tree populates fine, and the handler I retrieve whatever item is clicked works great. However, the tree refuses to default to having that first node open.
    I'm also interested in placing custom icons into certain nodes via the icon attribute I've set in the XML, but that will have to come later I guess.

    I've never used the Tree component, so I'm just guessing here....
    There is a slight delay before the xml file loads and your tree has its data provider.
    Perhaps during that time there is no node at mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0) to open? Try adding this just before the last line of your code:
    trace("the node is: "+mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0));
    What do you get?
    You might need to move that code inside the xml's load event handler.
    Another thing is that the Flash components tend to work on an invalidate-then-wait-one-frame-to-redraw kind of model. So it is possible you will need to wait one frame after the xml has loaded and then tell it to open that node.
    The doLater method might help with that.
    var home:MovieClip=this;
    var xmlTreeData:XML = new XML();
    xmlTreeData.onLoad = function() {
    mTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
    mTree.doLater(home,"delay");
    xmlTreeData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlTreeData.load("xml/treeValues1.xml");
    mTree.setStyle("fontSize","11");
    mTree.setStyle("selectionColor","0xE0E0E0");
    mTree.setStyle("useRollOver",false);

    Thanx Jeanne,
    You brought me on a idea with the UIX Developer's Guide and EXPANDABLE_EXPANDED value.
    I couldn't figure out how the expand property was filled, because it wasn't done in the ADF BC ViewObject. We have a Utility class that creates a DataObject from the ViewObject Data and here the expand property was set.
    Now it was easy to build a ExpandAll option. It is possible to access the HttpServletRequest object were the DataObject is created. By setting a attribute in the request I could react on that and give the expand property indeed the value EXPANDABLE_EXPANDED.

  • IAd Producer Question about the Gallery Component

    Hi,
    I would like to know how to make the Gallery component to be able to loop. I understand that I can use the Carousel component, but the required design of my clients looks similar with the Gallery Component. It just have to be looping and I'm done.
    Thanks in advance!
    Mark

    The best way is to place a Carousel object in a View object and resize the Carousel until a given cell is the same size of the View.  Make sure to check the "Clips to Bounds" setting in the inspector for the View and the "Snaps to Cells" setting for the carousel.
    Views are containers so drop one on the canvas then double-click it to edit its contents then drop in your Carousel.
    Here's what the View (and its settings) looks like with the Carousel inside:
    Here's what the Carousel (and its settings) looks like when embedded in the View and selected.

  • Basic question about NR filter

    Very basic question about the (perhaps oversimplified) interface of the noise reduction filter.
    Does anyone know definitively whether the first "Strength" slider is a master control for the filter overall (i.e. it controls the power of all other sliders below it), or whether it only affects an individual parameter (such as what might be perceived as luminosity-based noise, rather than color noise)?
    In other words, if Strength is set to zero, but Reduce Color Noise is set to 100%, does the color noise reduction effectively become zero or 100%?
    Neither the Help Menu nor three of the aftermarket books I have definitively addresses this. There are further redundancies regarding this "Strength" slider when advanced mode is turned on: for instance, if Strength on the "front" panel is set to 0, but 9 on the individual channel panels, what is the effective strength?
    Thanks in advance -

    Yes I'm sure it will work great for you.
    The iFrame format is something Apple has come up with. The reason for its existence is unknown to me so I can only speculate. But it seems to me that Apple "invented" this format in order to have devices such as Ipod/Ipad/Iphone/Ixxx create clips that are editable on consumer hardware such as already mentioned devices but also standard Mac computers, without the need for format conversion.
    iMovie converts most input formats during import, which takes a lot of time, and this need for conversion often comes as a surprise to most people new to home video editing.
    iFrame has a resolution of 960x540 which is long way from the common standards of 1920x1080 and 1280x720. If your end target is YouTube however, this may not be too bad though. However if you intend to go with YouTube HD, you may find iFrame footage to look wrong since they are effectively upscaled to a higher resolution.
    Technically iFrame uses the H.264 algorithm, a smaller frame size (960x540) and a rather low compression scheme. This will result in large files, but the plus side is that the files are ready for editing without the need for any conversion and iMovie will natively edit the files.

  • Question about Interface

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question about interface :
    an interface can only have abstract methods, right ?
    so how come ResultSet (which is an interface) has methods like next() which can't be abstract otherwise it wouldn't do anything ?
    thanks for answering !

    an interface can only have abstract methods, right ?Yes. All methods in an interface are inherently public and abstract.
    so how come ResultSet (which is an interface) has
    methods like next() which can't be abstract otherwise
    it wouldn't do anything ?It defines the next() method for classes that implement the interface. When you get a ResultSet reference returned from a method call, you're not getting a reference to an interface; you're getting a reference to an object that implements that interface (or null, as the case may be).

  • Image enduser workstation: question about ACF and Adobe Reader component

    Our IT department is investigating what components should be included in the image for enduser workstations to ensure they will be able to work with interactive forms without any problem. I know ACF and Adobe Reader are the only requirements for endusers but I have some questions about this:
    1. As of what version of Netweaver 2004s is it no longer a requirement to have the ACF component installed on the frontend to enable online interactive scenario's for endusers?
    2. Can I recommend to allways install the very latest Adobe Reader version available in the market or is the Adobe Reader version depending on the SAP NetWeaver version we use?
    kind regards

    Hi Angelique,
    The non ACF version is called Zero Client Installation (ZCI)
    ERP2005 SP 5 - Zero Client Installation (ZCI)
    NW04S Stack 08
    Reader 8.0 for ZCI, Reader 7.08 for ACF based forms. Don't use Reader 8 for ACF yet, since there is no installer working yet...

  • Component interface question

    Is the concept "component interface" related to the business methods of the bean or to the callback methods (that inform the bean about state events) of SessionBean/EntityBean interface?
    if "component interface" related to the callBack methods then how the interface with the business methods is called (in 3.0 i know it's "business interface" but what about 2.1)?
    thanks in advanced

    The component interface refers to a particular client view exposed from the bean. It contains the business methods available to the callers.
    The callback methods are a separate contract between the bean class and the container. In EJB 2.x, they are expressed via strongly-typed javax.ejb interfaces that the bean class was required to implement.
    In EJB 3.0, all callbacks are optional and the bean class uses annotations such as @PostConstruct to annotate the methods it wants to be called back. These methods are typically not exposed through the client (component interface) view.

  • CBWFQ: Question about the output of "show policy-map interface" command

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question about the output of "show policy-map interface" command.
    The following is the output of this command and lower side of the output shows
    (total queued/total drops/no-buffer drops) 0/342/0
    If the packets drop occur due to the situation of no enough buffer,
    "no-buffer drops" counted up. But "no-buffer drops" has not been counted up.
    The "no-buffer drops" is 0 (zero) but "total drops" are counted as 342.
    I guess there are other factors except "no-buffer drops" to add "total drops".
    But I can not find any information about "other factors".
    So I would like to know the "other factors" added to "total drops".

  • Some question about image component

    Hi,
    I encounter two questions when using image component and can't solve it myself after reading online document.
    1. How can I get image source at runtime? I find image.source return an Object class, but not the source image path.
    2. How to ensure image loading image correctly? In my itemRenderer, I set image source with this
    source="{appURL}+{data.picname}"
    I am sure there's no problem with the path, but it shows a broken image. What's the right way?
    Thanks,

    Try adding the images to the container dynamically
    var img : Image = new Image();
    img.load("{appURL}+{data.picname}")
    img.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,imageLoaded);
    private function imageLoaded(event:Event):void
                  var img : Image = event.currentTarget as Image;
