[Question] accessing frames Tree component CollapseAll property?

i have frames on my Jspx pages .
1: header (Top)
2: Tree at the Left side (Left)
3: Page to show (Right)
4 Footer (Bottom)
In the header frame i have button/ image/ or any other component to Go to home page ( pressing on 'Home' button it should Collapse the Tree).
My Tree is in left frame and i need to call its callapse all function to collapse the tree on pressing HOME button which is at the top frame. kindly help me as to how i can do that.
My tree tag looks like this

Hi,
all you can do from one frame to another is to refresh its content by re-loading the page displayed in it. There is no shared context that allows you to programmatically access the displayed page content. So in your case you would need to refresh the content of the tree page and pass a request parameter about the state. This parameter then should be evaluated by the tree initialization (e.g. a managed bean reference or a pagedef reference)

You brought me on a idea with the UIX Developer's Guide and EXPANDABLE_EXPANDED value.
I couldn't figure out how the expand property was filled, because it wasn't done in the ADF BC ViewObject. We have a Utility class that creates a DataObject from the ViewObject Data and here the expand property was set.
Now it was easy to build a ExpandAll option. It is possible to access the HttpServletRequest object were the DataObject is created. By setting a attribute in the request I could react on that and give the expand property indeed the value EXPANDABLE_EXPANDED.

Questions about AS2 Tree Component (Flash CS3)

I have Flash application with a Tree component on the Stage. I'm using an XML file to create the structure of the Tree component.
Each entry on my XML has the attributes id, label, heading, desc, and icon.
My problem is that I can't seem to be able to set the Tree to default with the first node open.
My code is:

My tree populates fine, and the handler I retrieve whatever item is clicked works great. However, the tree refuses to default to having that first node open.
I'm also interested in placing custom icons into certain nodes via the icon attribute I've set in the XML, but that will have to come later I guess.

I've never used the Tree component, so I'm just guessing here....
There is a slight delay before the xml file loads and your tree has its data provider.
Perhaps during that time there is no node at mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0) to open? Try adding this just before the last line of your code:
trace("the node is: "+mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0));
What do you get?
You might need to move that code inside the xml's load event handler.
Another thing is that the Flash components tend to work on an invalidate-then-wait-one-frame-to-redraw kind of model. So it is possible you will need to wait one frame after the xml has loaded and then tell it to open that node.
The doLater method might help with that.

Tree component bug (?) and some questions

Hi! I have some problems and questions about tree component.
Problems:
1. I have an expanded tree with ~300 items. Each item label
displayed in 2-3 strings. After QUICK tree scrolling using mouse
wheel (I make 3-5 scrolls) for most of items displayed only last
string and one empty string :(
Bug of tree renderer? Is it fixable?
Questions:
1. Can I have font color X for tree item 1 and font color Y
for tree item 2?
2. I have a tree with ~300 items. Expand/Collapse tree
operations takes 5 to 10 seconds on Core2Duo. Is it possible to
speed up this operations?

I faced this problem several times, cann't understand the
problem. May be it's a bug.
Questions.
1. Of course you can. Write itemRenderer for this.
2. Tree has effects for expanding and collapse events, you

Question on removing a child node in a tree component - JSF

When I m trying to delete a child node in a tree component the focus is not transfering to the parent node. I m using the setselected method to set the focus to the current node but not sure how to transfer the focus to parent node once I delete a child node. Please advice.

Select tree node in tree component

hi,
i am developing a web site which has a site map as a tree component, the sitemap is a inserted in a page fragment, users could click tree nodes to go to corresponding pages. also on other pages, i have next and previous buttons which allow users to navigate through pages. the question is how can i update the tree component when users navigate using the next and previous buttons so that the correct tree node is highlighted?
i tried to use the selected property for the tree component, but it does not do anything.

Bug in Tree Component

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in the dynamic tree which i created. I had created actionhandler for tree leaf node and actionListener for collapsible nodes but in a particluar case where the user first clicks a tree leaf node and after the tree is reloaded from the server if the user next clicks the collapsible node the actionhandler is invoked instead of actionListener and an execption is thrown which i have pasted below. It seems to me like this is happening because the focus is still on leaf node when the user clicks the collapsible node as the tree uses cookies to track the selected node. It seems like a bug in tree component. Does anybody knows any workaround for this

Custom icon per entry in the AS2 Tree Component (using CS3)

I have a tree component that loads its data from an XML file and I wonder if I can customize every entry to have its own icon by adding an icon attribute to every entry in the XML and giving the tree an action to read that icon (which would exist in the library of the Flash file). My goal is to reproduce a tree within an application that my company is developing (it's for a training tool related to that application).
My XML says something like <node label = 'Label' heading = 'LABEL' desc = 'Description' icon = 'icon1' />
My label is what the tree displays, the heading is what the information dialog in the training tool displays as a title bar, the desc is what the training tool displays within the body of the text for the function description and the icon is what I want to be a reference to the graphic in the library to place as an icon in front of the item rather than use setStyle with the properties for disclosure, leaf, and folder icons.
Is that possible? I haven't found a solution for it yet.

I have added the Default User Group Everyone to the no_safety area of our com.ourDomain Security Zone.
However when try to navigate to the URL we are first faced with a SAP Portal login page. on successful login the servlet is then shown.
Note: I was able to get the Same Servlet working within an iView when the iViews Authentification Scheme was set to anonymous...However i am under instruction to get it working without the iView...
As Background, The servlet is to be a sink for accepting data sent via an HTTP Post.
Any help with this or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Tree Component Icons

I'm using the tree component for a little Windows Parody I'm making. In my .fla, There's a tree component that loads an external XML file. I can't figure out how to add custom icons to my component, though.
I know it's possible to set the icons for just the default folder and file icons, but since it's a Windows Parody, there'll be different icons for different file types, folder types, etc.
In other words, I'd like to have a different icon for every item in my Tree component.
How can I do this?

Tree component and loading xml files into text field

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my issue....
I am making a simple self help application. I have a tree component that loads the different catagories and topics for my help app dynamically via an xml file...no issues there.
I then want it so that when the user cliecks on the actual topic that the TextArea component will load the info from another xml file using the name of the topic as the name of the xml file to make it that much easier for anyone to maintain this program.
So far the code i have is this.

Check out the Oracle XDB Developer's Guide, Chapter 3. There is an example of using BFileName function to load the xml files from a directory object created using create or replace directory. It works really well.

How to make Javascript access standard JSF component

Hello all,
I'm in need of a proper javascript code that access standard jsf component.
Like we do for html tags;
if( el.tagName.toLowerCase() != 'select')
I need to do the same thing for a jsf tag i.e; <h:selectOneMenu>. How to make javascript access <h:selectOneMenu> like it does with <select> tag ? Please let me know asap. Extremely sorry if the question is kind of stupid....cause I'm a beginner for JSF environment.

Ummmm, I may be off the beaten path, but by the time your javascript is called the h:selectOneMenu would be a select tag within the dom. You should be able to reference that tag as you normally would.

Add oneMore attribute in the XML Nodes,
When selecting a Node in a Tree component you will recieve
all the data of that particular xml node. using that you can load
the Files

Tree Component and as3

Hello ..
my problem is tree component and AS3 , before we hade such
easy time with tree component in as2 but now i founded that we cant
talk directly to tree component and we have to use API and XML ,
well i never liked XML and before i worked with tree component
directly and no problem but now , Flex force me to work with XML or
API(well I don’t know what dose it mean ) and I was tiring to
find any way to get directly to tree component in Flex2 and no
result … so my question , do I have use XML ? Is there any
another way to get to Tree Component ? I was looking in Flex help ,
and I find the help content is really bad . pleas help , I get
crazy about this problem …….
BWY this form work terrible on my PC ….. anyone have
same problem ?
