Question on integration between two DBs

I have a scenario where I have a local oracle database and another oracle database accessible via an application exposed using web services.
The data model is different in the local database then the one accessible via web service.
The requirement is to query the data in the local oracle db transform it and then sync with the other database via web services. The kind of transformation required is as follows:
The local DB has a single table. Each row in the table can be broken into 3 parts and converted as a master detail detail format. And the DB accessible via services has 3 tables one for each type of information. The services available are also 3 individual services accepting one type of data.
So, is it possible to sync the data at a regular interval of this form from local to the other DB using Golden Gate?
Please provide some pointers...

GoldenGate talks to GoldenGate, your web services part is extraneous to this process.
What you can do is extract your data on the source and replicate it on the target. The process will be that you need to break up the original data for inserting into your three target tables. You will have to use colmap and a sourcedef file (the tables are not identical). I would probably use three replicats, that way, each of your target tables can run independent of one another.
But, that is a pretty expensive way to replicate one table. Why not use a materialized view or Streams?

  • Integration between two HCM 9.1 systems

    Hi,
Our design requires two HCM 9.1 systems to be configured. One will host the core HCM data and another will host the recruiting solutions. For easy reference, I will name HCM environment as HCM and the HCM environment which will be used for recruit as TAM. Each will have a separate DB instance and TAM will contain an object copy of HCM.
The challenge now is to integrate these two systems so that data flows from HCM to TAM and vice versa. The current plan is to use E.I.Ps to exchange the data. For EIPs, the local node of one system should be configured as remote node of other system and also PS will not allow duplicate name. This will end up in renaming the local node(PSFT_HR) of one of the system.
The question I have is what kind of impact will renaming the delivered local node have on the system?
(Eg: Internal system processes like report distribution, XMLP, PRCS etc?)
Note: Oracle does not have a delivered approach between two 9.1 systems, it has delivered only between 9.0 and 9.1 which we are already referring to.
    Please help.
    Thank You,
    Regards,
    Cynthia

When you rename a node, the PeopleSoft Integration Broker automatically handles most of the dependencies involved such as deleting routings and other properties associated with the node.
However the live message data in Integration Broker Monitor remains unchanged. If that data still contains references to the node you want to modify, Integration Broker will prevent you from making the modification. You must remove all data from the live message tables before you can rename or delete the node definition. You can use this script "appmsgpureall.dms" to remove the live messages.(Make sure App server is shutdown before running this)

  • Comparing Table between two dbs DBMS_RECTIFIER_DIFF.DIFFERENCES

We have streams replication between two databases db1 & db2 (table level streams replication).
We would like to compare tables between these databases.
we can use DBMS_RECTIFIER_DIFF.DIFFERENCES to find out differences. However what is value to be passed for REFERENCE_SITE & COMPARISON_SITE parameters?
Is it DBLINK or TNSNAMES entry ?

    Its the DBLINK.

  • Integration between two oracle servers 8i and 9i

    With the name of ALLAH,
    Dear Friends,
I want to connect / share the data of two oracle databases installed on different LANs and static IPs. i.e
    202.125.155.20 and 202.125.152.30
But the problem is that I am unable to connect both databases by connection string in tnsnames.ora
I want to share the data by writting event based trigger between both of the databases.
Note: One database is 8i Enterprise and other is 9i Enterprise
Please tell me in detail that what should I do?
I would be thankful to you.

  • Can we use JDK in ERP Connector for tranferring data between two DBs?

    HI ALL,
Iam using ERP connector for transferring the data between Proectserver 2003 and R/3 system.
In Erp connector Previously they are using SDK in .net
My assumption is Can We use the jdk for this.
    Thanks in advance.

    hello bhi,
you want a connector for R/3 that runs in java?
if it is, you case use SAP JCo. I don't have any
idea however, if this connector could connect
    ProjectServer and R/3.

  • Question about syncing between two computers

I feel a bit silly, because I feel as though I should know this, but I'm not sure because it has never applied to me until now.
My main computer is a Vista machine, and everything is sync'd with that. However, I bought a MacBook last night (WOO-HOO!) to use as a secondary machine, and I'd like to get all of my contact and calendar info into that machine as well.
    I'm envisioning the following scenario:
    1. I will put at least one contact and at least one calendar event into Mac Mail and iCal in my new, empty MacBook...
    2. I will connect my iPhone to sync with the MacBook and iTunes will offer me the magic "merge" option.
    3. All of the information in my phone will be sync'd to my new MacBook, and I will have two computers and an iPhone all with the same info.
Are there any holes in my vision? Will this work?
    Thanks,
    -SB

    This should work as provided.
If something goes wrong with the sync process with your MacBook and this data is lost on your iPhone, you have your Vista machine with this data to recover from.
If you aren't already doing so, be sure to create a backup of this data on your Vista machine - contact information and calendar events - which should be done when syncing any device such as an iPhone with such important information stored on your computer.

  • Reg: Integration between two application

    Hi,
I have a scenario where Application A will drop a flat file in one of the unix directory, and this file needs to be fed into the Application B.
    Appl A ---> Flat file ---> Appl B
The file needs to be processed immediately when it arrives in respective unix folder.
Please suggest me the best approach to implement this.

    Hi Keegan,
Your tunnel is up and encrypting traffic one way, the other end is not able to encrypt the traffic.
I would suggest to do a 'clear xlate'?  Sometimes if you setup the nonat configuration after you've attempted other configurations, you need to 'clear xlate' before the previous NAT configuration is cleared and the new one works.

  • Can a SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) be Implemented Between Two Hyper-V Hosted Virtual Machines?

I haven't had the opportunity to implement a SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) for over 10 years and that was done with two physical, identical database servers way back in the day of Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 (old school).
Can a SQL Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) be implemented between two Hyper-V hosted virtual machines? The environment in question already has Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V hosts in place, so I'm just looking to see if this is even
possible and/or supported when utilizing virtual machines.
The client in question is currently using SQL Server 2008 R2 instances running on Win2008R2, Win2012, and Win2012R2, but I'd also be interested how this can be done or not with SQL Server 2012 or 2014 as well. Thanks in advance.
    Bill Thacker

Yes, it can be done with Hyper-V guests. In fact, with Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V, guests can use the Shared VHDX feature for shared storage used by Windows clusters. The guests can run Windows Server 2008 and higher provided that the Hyper-V Integration
Services are installed to support Shared VHDX. The only challenge here is making the Hyper-V hosts highly available as well, running it on WSFC.

  • Sharing external FireWire drive between two Mac Pros

I know that sharing an external FireWire drive between two machines (i.e. both connected at the same time) is a very bad things as both will assume that they have exclusive write access to the drive and quite quickly write over what the other machine has just written.
Would it be possible though to mount the drive as read-only on the first machine and in read-write mode on the second? Would this preserve integrity as the second machine would in fact have exclusive write access or would other problems arise?
Thanks for any responses to a stupid question!
    Peter

Mmm, Connect the drive to the private secure network Mac. Connect the two Macs by FireWire and create a network over the firewire connection, configure it to use class C addresses, ie. 169.x.x.x manually and then share the firewire drive to the other Mac (also on a class C network address over firewire).
Both macs will still have their own ethernet network addresses and each network will not be visible from the "other" network (unless you choose to share your internet connection over firewire).
The only caveat here is that the firewire drive will be visible to every other Mac on the secure network that you allow to connect to it (which is why I chose that one, rather than the public Mac). Or can you restrict sharing to only one network ..... didn't think so.

  • Additional data on relationship between two objects

    Hi
We have a requirement to capture additional data on a relationship between two objects.  The data to be captured are custom fields that are unique to the relationship between the objects and not specific to either of the objects.
We created a new object type and related it to the position (S)and the job (C) object.  In the customising (Personnel Management/Personnel Development/Basic Settings/Maintain Relationships there is an option to set up Additional Data.  There are however several restrictions (e.g. the substructure has to be in T77AD).  When you set up an existing substructure (e.g. PAD22) and screen (e.g. 3000), it works really well, however we have not been able to get this to read our own substructure and screen (since there is no customer include on HRP1001 and the 'Additional data' button seems to go to MP100100 to find the screen).
    My question is two fold:
    a) Is this an allowed customisation (e.g. can we create our own substructure, screen and Query string)? And if so, how does the data get into T77AD (since SAP recommends that data should not be added to this table)? and
    b) Is there any documentation on this (thus far I have only received info on how to enhance infotypes which I don't think is relevant???)?
If this can not be maintained is there any other suggestions on how to deal with this scenario?
    Any assistance will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Liezl

    Hi everyone
Thanks for everyone who tried to assist us with this.  I am happy to report that our in-house guru's have found the answer.  So, for anyone who is interested:
In programme MP100100 you have a screen 6000 which is a customer enhancements screen.  We set up two in-house function modules for the PBO and PAI with its own screen and added an append structure to PAD31 to add the fields required.  In the configuration, we then specified PAD31 as the substructure with screen 6000 and then also specified our own PBO and PAI function modules.  The parameters required for screen 6000 is set up within our own customer screens.
Hope this will be helpful to someone - it certainly seemed to open up some doors for us!
    Regards

  • Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode?

Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode? Grab a drink and let me tell you my story.
I purchased two computers... an iMac 27" i7 3.4 16GB RAM and a Mac mini 2.3 i5 8 GB RAM. Both have Thunderbolt capability and are in fact connected by thunderbolt. I have 3 problems...
    1. My Mac mini WILL NOT recognize any bluetooth keyboard. Let me back up for clarification. I set my iMac up first. No problems there. I then went on to set up my mac mini. A couple of interesting things happened concering bluetooth activity. First thing is that the keypad, which was already paired with my iMac wouldn't be recognized by the mac mini, and yet my bluetooth mouse which was paired with my iMac became paired with my mac mini and thus wouldn't be recognized by my iMac anymore. I had to go to my back room and dig out my other bluetooth mouse so that my iMac would at least recognize my second mouse. So now I have two "mice"presently. One for the mac mini, the other for the iMac. Thankfully I also had a USB keypad for my mac mini. My bluetooth keypad is still paired with my iMac but won't pair with my mac mini, which brings me to another question....
    2. CAN 1 KEYPAD AND 1 MOUSE PAIR WITH TWO DIFFERENT COMPUTERS SO THAT WHEN I GO INTO TARGET MODE VIA THUNDERBOLT I CAN USE THE SAME KEYPAD AND MOUSE FOR BOTH COMPUTERS? Anybody have some thoughts on that problem?
    3. WHY IN THE WORLD IS MY MOUSE CURSOR DISAPPEARING EVERYTIME I EXIT TARGET MODE VIA PASSWORD AND COMMAND F2. I'm using target mode to access my mac mini. But when I exit target mode to get back into my iMac I'm looking at my iMac screen but I can't see the mouse pointer! I can move the pointer around even though I can't see it. Wierd. And this has apparently been going on for some time with other users for over a year. I am presently completely up to date on Lion updates. Both systems are running 10.7.4. Does anyone have a solution or heard a rumor of a solution coming soon regarding the invisible mouse cursor "curse". I hate having to restart my iMac everytime I exit out of target mode just so I can get my mouse cursor visible again.
Food for thought.... Wouldn't it be really cool to have a target mode capability to see your other computers desktops in seperate window screens on your main display. You then could go back and forth from each window by just double clicking or by certain key commands. You could drag and drop from desktop to desktop. Tell me this is coming soon.
    Thanks

  • Sharing One iPhoto Database Between Two Accounts

Re: Sharing Photo's on the same iMac between two user accounts

    Tom
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

  • Using the same photos and music between two user accounts in the same Mac

    Hi,
I think this question might have already been asked in the forum.
    1. I have one MacBook Pro and two user accounts (One for me and one for my wife)
    2. We are having two seperate iPhones with seperate AppleIDs
    3. We want to maintain the apps / calendar / mail / reminders / contacts as seperate - Through iCloud (Seperate Apple ID approach) - All this is fine
    4. All we want to have it shared is the Music files and the Photo library without duplicating
I have tried the shared folder approach for the music and having the iTunes point to that directory for the libary location in the preferences but unfortunately if she adds a folder to the library mine does not get updated unless I do a add folder to library and vice versa.
Whats the best way to deal with the Photos / Music sharing between two user accounts on the same mac
    Thanks
    Shas

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer
iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users
There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

  • Communication between two portlets - Java Portlet JSR168

    Communication between two portlets
    Hi All,
i want to be question how do communication between two portlets. Exam:
I have 2 portlets in a portal together: a Menu portlet & a Content portlet, now i want when i click to an link of portlet Menu then my Content portlet will get param from link that.
i'm develop by Oracle Jdeveloper tool & OracleAS 10g.
    Thank a lot !

    Hello,
I assume you are not using Weblogic Portal, correct? If you are using Weblogic Portal, you could use events to communicate between two JSR168 portlets, but this only works in Weblogic Portal.
If you are not using Weblogic Portal, the only way to communicate between two JSR 168 portlets is to put an attribute in the session in one portlet, and retrieve it from the session in the other portlet. For example, to set a value in your Menu portlet, given a javax.portlet.PortletRequest variable "request", and an object you want to send to the content portlet in the variable "menuChoice":
    javax.portlet.PortletSession session = request.getPortletSession(true);
    session.setAttribute("menuChoice", menuChoice, javax.portlet.PortletSession.APPLICATION_SCOPE);
Then, in your content portlet to retrieve the value of the menuChoice variable you would do this:
    javax.portlet.PortletSession session = request.getPortletSession(true);
    Object menuChoice = session.retAttribute("menuChoice", javax.portlet.PortletSession.APPLICATION_SCOPE);
