i have map the org.apache.myfaces src also
for exa. my generated path is :-
/framework/faces/myFacesExtensionResource/tree2.HtmlTreeRenderer/11295320/images/line-middle.gif
actual Myfaces's Path is :
/simple/faces/myFacesExtensionResource/tree2.HtmlTreeRenderer/11295320/images/line-middle.gif
so pls any buddy could help me ? what else i have to do

I experienced the same problem while re-submitting to the same page about 15 times via a command button (a list page that would get updated with every new submit).
After having turned JSF logging on I discovered that my stylesheet (!) was interpreted by JSF as a Faces view (because of the /faces/-mapping before it) and that this caused the list page to be (incorrectly) added up towards the maximum of 15 views in the session. After 15 reloads JSF would remove the list page from view, re-create it, and I experienced the same problems as you described in the top post - no navigation worked.
My stylesheet used to be:
<link rel="STYLESHEET" type="text/css" href="../../css/foo.css">
... which kept the /faces/ mapping from the page containing the css reference, and made it look like a faces view to JSF.
When I switched to:
<link rel="STYLESHEET" type="text/css" href="/css/foo.css">
... the problem disappeared.
Hope that helps all of you that have this problem. It certainly took me quite a while to figure it out!

  • Problems with navigation using JSF 1.0 RI

    I have a problem with faces in that navigation simply stops working. I have a page which have prev/next buttons on it, and a cancel button. Each button is of the form
    <h:form id="viewxxx">
    <h:commandButton value="XXX" styleClass="buttonInput" action="#{somebean.doSomeAction}"/>
    </h:form>
    The code behind the next/prev button action returns "success", the cancel returns an action string which returns the user to the previous screen.
    After clicking on prev/next a few times one of two possible things happen:-
    (1) the navigation stops working (all buttons do nothing)
    (2) or after pressing a button a few times the navigation starts to work.
    I tried to simplify things to find out if my backing code was causing the problem. I included a very simple button:-
    <h:form id="view_c_getridofme">
         <h:commandButton value="Test" styleClass="buttonInput" action="success"/>
    </h:form>
    and after clicking this a few time it also breaks the navigation. So I suspect something strange is going on inside the Faces implementation.
    I checked the faces-config.xml and this is correct:
    <!-- Stay on View for page next/prev -->
    <navigation-case>
    <from-outcome>success</from-outcome>
    <to-view-id>/viewcorr.jsp</to-view-id>
    <redirect />
    </navigation-case>
    I tried (albeit briefly) MyFaces 1.0.3 and the navigation does not break although it does present some other issues for me. My preference would be to use Sun's JavaFaces implementation if possible.
    Can anyone shed light on this - why this may be happening?

  • Use JSF with Portlet JSR 168 Specification

    Hi,

  • Can I use Tomahawk with Sun's JSF implementation?

    I would like to know whether I can use Tomahawk-1.1.3 with Sun's JSF implementation or have to use JSF implementation from myfaces?
    Thanks

    If the components are written per the specification, they should be portable, and as such should run on either implementation.

  • Using jsf with struts

    hi;
    i am trying to understand the proper architecture when using jsf and struts together.
    i think i understand the differences between the technologies . it seems to me that instead of justifying jsf there should be a focus on how the two technologies actually collaborate.
    specifically, i would like to know or see examples of things like replacing the view portion of struts and plugging in the jsf framework instead or how to i replace the struts actions with jsf commands or maybe they are totally different things.
    where can i get information like this?
    thanks.

    At present, i think the best thing to do is to look at the example provided with the struts-faces integration taglib. I don't know any documentation about it.

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 using JSF 1.2 portlets with ADF faces

    We are developing Portal site using Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 with JSF portlet 1.2 and ADF faces (ADF Application runtime 11.1.1.5 ). But the JSF portlets not supporting ADF faces. Please let me know how we use ADF faces in JSF portlet 1.2 in Weblogic Portal.

    Hi Murthy,
    We did a detailed analysis.
    (1) How do we add ADF taskflows, JSF in to weblogic portal desktop/pages? Do we create portlet out of JSF, and display on desktop/page? If this is the case, what about ADf task flows?
    --> Taskflows can be deployed as WSRP2.0 portlets. Note 2 options are there JSF page as portlet or taskflow itself as portlets.
    (2) How do we integrate weblogic user profiles and UUP (unified user profiles) with ADF and JSF?
    --> ADF Security can use Weblogic Server realm as the security provider. Entitlements in WLP will have to be provided based on Weblogic Server roles. In case you are using external LDAP then both can be integrated withe external LDAP
    (3) Can anybody shed some light which this better?
    (a) weblogic portal with JPF (Java page flows), NetUI --Legacy approach
    Pros:
    -Easy Development
    -Well tested integrated
    Cons:
    -Future support
    -Enhancements may not be available
    -Not really portable or standards based
    (b) weblogic portal with ADF, JSF?
    Pros:
    -If your on Oracle stack then great
    -Standards based
    Cons:
    -JSF Portlet bridge issues
    -ADF Faces does not work on IE6!
    Well what we are going for is JSR 286, Trinidad components (Supports IE6), JSF.
    Difficult choice.

    hi,
    I am having a jsf data table with <hx:pagerdeluxe> to navigate, and i am using (jsf-ibm-unknown-vers.jar) jar, this works fine. I need to insert a progress bar in my jsf and used <hx:progressBar> but this was not available in the old jar, So i upgraded my jar to jsf-ibm.jar when i ran this progress bar works fine but he pager deluxe shrinks and unable to navigate.. I am using jboss server .... Can any one help me out about regarding this. So that both works fine
    Thanks.

    This is not related to Sun JSF. You might have more luck if you ask component library specific questions at the website/forum/mailinglist of the component manfacturer.

  • Unusual using jsf with own servlet

    Hi, it will be useful for me within my javax.servlet.Servlet class implementation I use JSF for printing output to my ServletResponse.
    What I must to do for it?
    thanks for suggestions.

    The simplest thing would be to forward to or include the appropriate URL that is handled by JSF. If for some reason this is not acceptable you might want to take a look at the implementation of the FacesServlet. But I would encourage you to pursue the forwarding/including solution first as it will be less fragile.

  • h:form problem with myfaces 1.1.4

    Hi,
    I have a jsf page whose body is wrapped by tag <h:form>. This seems to be necessary with myfaces 1.1.4.
    My page contains:
    1 - A "sign out" commandLink which simply logs out current logged user
    2 - an inputText tag, bound to a validation method of a backinbg bean, that verifies if inserted text is a valid email or not.
    When I insert an invalid email address in the input text and press "sign out", the "email address not valid" message it's showed, and signout performs only when I insert a valid address!
    This is not good, as signiing out must not have any relation with form validation.
    Can anyone help me ?
    Pietro

    A form is required around any input and command components (ones that need a HTML form rendered to the client). You can have multiple forms per page.
    When the user does something that submits the page, only the surounding form is actually submitted. So in your example you want to use seperate forms for the logout link and the email input.
    So for example:
    <h:form id="logoutForm">
       ... logout link here ...
    </h:form>
    <h:form id="emailForm">
    ... email input stuff here ...
    </h:form>

    The class org.apache.commons.el.Logger comes from Commons EL project, it is not a part of Commons Logging library. Try adding Commons EL library to your project as it appears MyFaces depends on it.

    building complex UI and will it support for using the jsf features and would like to know any other free open

    Hello Friends,
    I am also in the same situation.
    I am a building a new web application using JSF and AJAX.
    Requirement is I need to use IBM version of DOJO and JSF but I need to develop the whole application using Eclipse 3.3,2 and Tomcat 5.5.
    With IBM version of DOJO and JSF, will Eclipse and Tomcat help to speed up the development or do you suggest me to go for Rational Application Developer and WebSphere Application Server.
    If I need to go with RAD and WAS, then I am new to RAD and WAS, is it easy to use RAD and WAS for this kind of application and implement web applicaiton fast.
    Any feedback will be great help.Those don't sound like requirements of the system to me. They sound more like someone wants to improve their CV/resume
    From what I've read recently, if it's just fast you want, look at Ruby on Rails

  • Migration from jsf 1.2  with spring to JSF 2.0

    Hi guys,
    I have a project written with JSF 1.2 and Spring IOC as bean container and i use Tomcat 6.20, now i see that a lot of people try jsf 2.0, my question is what exactly i need to move to JSF 2.0 , i did a little research and found out that i have to implement my own View scope if i use Spring , here is one implementation example http://cagataycivici.wordpress.com/2010/02/17/port-jsf-2-0s-viewscope-to-spring-3-0/.
    have anybody try this solution?
    so from where i have to start migration? is there any step by step document? the system is already in production and i have to evaluate the risks of migration.
    i use myfaces implementation with richfaces and primefaces . will old tags work under jsf 2.0 ? Please provide me with some information .

    so from where i have to start migration? is there any step by step document? the system is already in production and i have to evaluate the risks of migration.Do you actually NEED Jsf 2.0? The application is already working I presume, so it would seem a huge waste of time, money and effort to migrate it without a good reason to do so. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
    I'd wait until a new application needs to be implemented and then make the choice to use JSF 2.0. A review of all the changes done in JSF 2.0 can be a good place to start to make the decision.

  • Problem with adding Sun JSF RI v1.2 as a new library in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1

    Hi,
    I have a problem with adding a latest JSF 1.2 RI from Sun (https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/files/documents/1866/44998/jsf-1_2_03.zip) to JDeveloper as a new library.
    I created a new User library and added into it jsf-impl.jar and jsf-api.jar from JSF 1.2 RI.
    Then I try to create two new JSP Tag libraries based from .tld files.
    When a .tld file is placed in "TLD File:" field there is no information below about Library Version and Required JSP Version. If I check "Execute Tags in JSP Visual Editor" and click "Customize" button - list of tags in "Customize Tag Library" window is empty.
    I have errors when I try to use JSF Tags from this new library in JSP page like :
    "Can't create tag instance: f:view (class: null). Make sure, that the tag class or a library contained this class is available in this application"
    (free translation to English)
    Is this possible to add JSF RI v1.2 as another library in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 ?
    thanks for help

    Hi,
    This solution is not exactly for Jdeveloper 10.1.3.x I think.
    - "Create a JSF system library." section, point 2. - there is not possible to add library in folder other than User I see, so I added it in User folder.
    - "Register the JSF JSP tag libraries." section, point 5. - in JD 10.1.3 there is no dialog box, I checked checkbox "Show Tag Library in Palette". A new library was added to User folder but there is no new libraries in component Palette.
    Even as I use "Edit tag libraries .." from Component Palette context menu and add manually new tag libraries to selected, there is no libraries in Component Palette after it.
    I feel so problem is with different .tld files format, not with adding libraries method.
    Sun RI tld file (from version 1.2_03) fragment:

    Did JDeveloper 10.1.3.x maintain with taglib version 1.2 ?

  • Using JSF and Struts

    I am a bit of a newbie in terms of UI applications on the JEE platform, so I apologize up front if this question seems silly. I was wondering if someone could comment on the approach below. Is this something that's possible or am I barking up the wrong tree?
    We have a vendor application that is written using Struts. We want to add a section of our own pages to this application, but we would rather use a more strategic approach in our pages, so we would like to use JSF for those.
    The original web.xml file in the vendor app uses a dtd of version 2.3 as shown below:
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
    When I use JSF, I use a DTD version of 2.5 as shown here:
    <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd">
    The problem is that when I use version 2.3, the elements needed to support JSF are invalid. When I use 2.5, the elements needed to support struts are invalid.
    Could someone comment in that, if you had this vendor app and you needed to add your own pages, is it not possible to use JSF in this scenario or if you can, what is the best approach to resolving this issue?
    Thank you in advance

    First make sure that your application server supports Servlet API 2.5. Whether the desired Servlet API version is supported or not solely depends on the application server implementation and version used. For example Tomcat 5.5 is a Servlet API 2.4 implementation which only supports the API versions up to with 2.4. If you want to use Servlet API 2.5, then you obviously need a Servlet API 2.5 implementation, for example Tomcat 6.0.
    Consult the website and/or documentation of the application server in question.
