  • Remote desktop client for Android

    Dear sir,
    Does Microsoft remote desktop client for Android support RDP 7.0 with remote FX.
    Using this client can I connect to Remote App publish under remote desktop service in windows server 2012.
    In a client device do we need anything else, other than Android 4.0 or above and Microsoft remote desktop client for Android (free) to connect to remote desktop service under windows server 2012.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Yes, the Remote Desktop client supports RDP 7.1 and all previous versions including: RDP 7, RDP 6.1, RDP 6, RDP 5 and RDP 4.
    Note: Support for a specific version of RDP 7 does not include all virtual channels. RemoteFX codecs are not supported in RDP 7.1.

  • IOS RD Client Remote Resources "Failed to Parse RDP Configuration"

  • Still getting preparing your Remote Resources with iOS client v8.1.6

    Updated to 8.1.6 but still getting the dreaded 'Preparing your Remote Resources'.
    This is a 2008 R2 RDS server and it hasn't connected since v8.1 of the RDClient App. However, I have another customer with another 2008 R2 RDS server and remote resources in the app work perfectly!
    I've compared the two servers side by side, made sure every single setting is the same, but still one works and one doesn't. Somebody please help, it's driving me and my customer crazy.

    Hi Darmesh,
    Thanks for the reply. Yes, I can confirm that I am using the full url, if I don't add the rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx then it doesn't connect at all, only when I use the full url does it get as far as 'preparing your remote resources'.
    I've removed the remote resources and re-added multiple times. I also get the same behaviour on both my iPad and iPhone. Numerous employees of the customer have also complained about it not working since the 8.1.0 update on their iOS devices, so it's been
    tested on numerous devices, and with every single release since 8.1.0.
    Everything else connects to the server fine including the Mac OS app. I also have another customer with a 2008 R2 RDS server and this connects from the iOS app perfectly. I spent hours the other night comparing every setting between the two servers and they
    are now set up identically, except one works and one still doesn't!

  • Remote Resources: "A problem with the system proxy caused the connection to fail: End of file"

    Hi, I am trying to use "Remote Resources" on the current version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop for Android app, I can input the webfeed and it even shows the apps that I have configured on the server for "Remote App", sadly whenever
    I try to load any of the RemoteApps, I receive an error stating " A problem with the system proxy caused the connection to fail. End of File".
    I don't know what I can do to fix this, I've tried many things to no avail, also, normal Remote Desktop connections from the Microsoft Android app work flawlessly to the server.

    Now, I know the host can be resolved because: if I connect to the same host but on a full remote desktop (as opposed to just RemoteApp on it) I have no trouble either through 3G OR through my work connection.
    Moreover, I also tried directly inputting the IP as opposed to the web address of my server, I get the same error, that is the Remote Resources tab is able to access the feed (because it shows the available RemoteApps) but when I click an app it says it can't
    find the Host, here's the log for the connection directly to the IP address/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx :

  • OSX Remote Desktop and RDGateway Remote Resources

    Is it possible or planned to support RDGateway for published Remote Resources, using Microsoft Remote Desktop for OSX?
    thanks

    Hi,
    I have just confirmed with the product group, RD Gateway is supported for Remote Resources. It does not have dedicated settings for Remote Resources.
    Furthermore, the feed server (RDWeb) must be reachable by the client. If a GW is needed then the administrator must have configured the published apps to use one.

  • How do you use a Gateway with Remote Resources on a Mac (8.0.5)?

    I might be missing something obvious, but I have a Gateway configured in the OS X 8.0.5 client, but when connecting to remote resources it does not seem to use it. When you configure a connection to a specific machine there is a drop down for using one of
    the preconfigured gateways but not when configuring remote resources. I see no evidence a gateway is being used when I try to connect to a RemoteApp from off site.
    Am I missing something?

    Hi,
    Firstly, why do you think that remote resources does not use RD Gateway? Please let us know more details.
    Meanwhile, please make sure that the configurations are correct on the RD Gateway server.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/0a2e47d7-d01b-4435-9817-341e398c260d/remote-resources-doesnt-load-osx-rdp-app-v-809?forum=winserverTS
    It does seem (through sniffing) that the Mac will keep hammering the /RDWeb/FeedLogin/WebFeedLogin trying to get to /RDWeb/Feed/Webfeed.aspx
    2014-09-20 14:46:39 %MYPUBLICSERVERIP% GET /RDWeb/FeedLogin/WebFeedlogin.aspx ReturnUrl=%2fRDWeb%2ffeed%2fwebfeed.aspx
    443 - %MYPUBLICCLIENTIP% Mozilla/5.0 - 401 1 2148074242 31
    This doesn't authenticate, we're not able to change the settings suggested.
    How can the MacOS client not support NTLMv2 auth (if that is the problem), and the iPad one does? At the very least it should fail after a go or two rather than hammering consistently

    Hi Shaun,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Might possible that there is some configuration issue or connection issue from MRD IOS end. Please reinstall-reconfigure and check. Apart kindly collect the log for further research.

  • Remote Desktop Apps via Andriod Remote Resource

    Hi,
    My remote desktop was working fine along with the Android app that connection to remote resources. The servers certificate was not renewed in time, so I went through getting all that replaced. I got that working in the IIS, exported the certificate from
    IIS and imported it back into the remote desktops settings under the 4 titles : RD Connection Broker - enable single sign on, rd connection broker - publishing, rd web access, rd gateway. They are all trusted and ok.
    So when I use the webpage to access the remote desktop apps with a PC it all works fine. no issues with certificates it just works. However when I come to use the remote resources in the android app, the apps appear, when you click on them it runs through
    a connection splash screen then just disappears. No error, nothing. It says connection rdp, negotiating connection, connecting rdp then just disappears.
    I have tried clearing the data and cache to remote desktop app, made no difference.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    MyPchealth

    Hi,
    Please check whether you have successful login connection to remote resource?
    In addition please provide the log for further research.
    Login in the APP, then go to settings, under 'support' there is an option ‘Send log via email’ and then it will reach to the email inbox which is provided.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures

    Hi,
    We have a portlet that allows users to upload files to a SQL Server database and make it available for other users to access. The portlet code is on our remote servers. Everything works fine in dev environment, but certain files fail in pre-prod and prod within the portal, but work fine when the code is executed outside the portal.
    I keep getting this error:
    Error - Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures. Try again later or contact your portal administrator.
    What could the problem be?
    Thank you for your help.

    If the Studio service looks good on the remote server where Studio is installed (check that
    the service is started and look in the Studio logs for any warnings or errors), you should
    also verify the configuration settings in the Studio remote server object. Is it properly
    configured and pointing to the correct remote server?
    If so, check the portal servers access to the Studio server via the port specified in the remote
    server (default is 11935). You can test this by doing a telnet test on the portal server. In a cmd
    prompt (Windows) or on the CLI (Unix), type 'telnet [studioserver] 11935', where "<servername> is
    the name of your Studio remote server. The screen should just go blank, meaning that there is
    something accepting connections on that port on the given server. (We would hope it's the Studio
    app and not another service occupying that port.) If you get "Could not open connection to the host"
    or some such similar result, check that the network between the portal and the Studio remote server
    is open (ie, make sure there isn't any port blocking or a firewall in place that would hinder the
    communication between the two servers).

  • Microsoft sql client deadlocked on lock resources with another process

    Hi
    I wrote a forecasting report for a customer which creates an excel spreadsheet with the information
    Depending on how they run the report it can take between 5 to 15 minutes to run
    We have just upgraded the customer to SAP 8.8 PL10 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and they seem to be getting an error -
    Microsoft sql client deadlocked on lock resources with another process .......
    The error seems intermittent, they may get the error once and the next time they run it, it is fine.
    I have never seen this error before and they never had it before on SAP 2005
    Can anyone suggest anything please?
    Thanks
    Regards Andy

    Hi Andy,
    I was having the same problem. I'm gonna tell you what i did.
    My query usually takes from 10 to 15 minutes to show results. That long time also block all transaction in the database.
    I was reading about some techniques to improve queries performance. Some of the tips are:
    1. Review indexes in the table you are querying
    2. Use Views
    3. Avoid cursors
    4. Archive old data
    5. Use the correct transaction isolation level
    The last one, was the tip that helped me to avoid the block in the database.
    By default the isolation level in SQL Server is Read Commited, that explains why the database block some transactions. For example, if you have a query that take data from JDT1 table and it takes several minutes to show the results, other transactions that try to write in the same table should be blocked if they arrive at the same time of the first query.
    To solve this, you can make your query in a transaction with Snapshot isolation level. It means that your select query will take a snapshot of the data without blocking any other transaction.
    Here is an example how you can make it. The difference is that you may use ADO.NET connection replacing DI API Connection:
    oConnection = OK1.Generic.Helpers.setConnection(server, password, userID, db); // You have to set anyway your sqlconnection
                        if (oConnection.State == ConnectionState.Open)
                            oCommand = new SqlCommand();
                            oCommand.Connection = oConnection;
                            oCommand.CommandTimeout = System.Convert.ToInt32(timeOut);
                            oCommand.CommandText = "ALTER DATABASE " + db + " SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON";
                            oCommand.ExecuteNonQuery();
                            sqlTran1 = oConnection.BeginTransaction(IsolationLevel.Snapshot);
                            oCommand.CommandText = query;
                            oCommand.Transaction = sqlTran1;
                            oCommand.ExecuteNonQuery();
                            sqlTran1.Commit();
                            oCommand.CommandText = "ALTER DATABASE " + db + " SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION OFF";
                            oCommand.ExecuteNonQuery();
                            if (oConnection.State == ConnectionState.Open)
                                oConnection.Close();
    In this example I write the data to show in the report in other table, then the report takes the data from that table.
    I hope it will be helpful for you.

    Juan Camilo

  • Android Remote App

    As most users may know, the remote recording app for Youview has been available for iphones for some time now, but the recent press release mentions that android users could be seeing this for their devices during June
    quote from this link
    YouView says that the app will work on Android devices running 2.3 Gingerbread and above and has been optimised for the Samsung Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Ace as well as the HTC One S and the LG-made Google Nexus 4

    I recently downloaded the Android remote control app for my HTC phone.  Everything except the volume control works fine.  When I try and control the volume, it only brings up the display for the DVR volume, not the TV volume and it doesn't do anything when I change it.  I have to pick up the remote that came with the DVR to change it.  Apparently the DVR remote has the TV code programmed in.  Does anyone know if there is a fix for this issue?
    The Andorid app actually controls the volume for the STB, not the TV itself, but by controlling the STB volume (if the audion soung option is set properly) you can control the TV sound.  Apparently you have the Volume Control setting set to "Fixed" not "Variable" in the STB Main Menu --> Settings --> Audio --> Volume Control option.  With the Variable setting the Android app controls the sound level for me.
