RDBMS event generator & JNDI datasources

Hi everyone,
My WLI 8.1 SP5 is going nuts ! I'm under a cluster architecture, WL 8.1 SP6 with Red Hat Linux, JRockit 1.4.2_10. Deploying an application i need to create some RDBMS event generator, but when i do this, i get an NameNotFoundException looking for my jndi datasource ( see below ). The datasource is created and i can work with it, since it's a must for my application. How is it possible that a datasource exists for a web application and does not for an integration event ? Does anyone have any experience about this ? Any help will be very appreciated !!

If you are using a cluster you need to make sure the connection pool and data source are deployed on the admin server. I have had this problem many times before.

I have tried several things and had my team do research but we have not been able to find an answer to the problem.
If anyone can offer any insight as to why we might be getting this error it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i also have same error during load testing, mainly this error
"Unexpected exception while enlisting XAConnection java.sql.SQLException"
i tried rerunning after increasing connection pool sizes, transaction timeout, but no luck, marginal improvement in performance though
also tried changing the default tracking levl to none, but no luck.
i am with 8.1SP5, how about you ?
do share if you are able to bypass these errors
    cheers

  • How to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3

how to create an RDBMS event generator using wlst on weblogic 10.3, i got a code fragment needing class "com.bea.wli.management.configuration.RDBMSEventGenChannelConfiguration"
but i can' t find this class in classpath on weblogic 10.3, pls help me, thanks. code sample is better.

    Hi,
RDBMS Event Generator Channel Rule Definition
When you are creating channel rule definitions in the WebLogic Integration Administration Console, it is recommended that you do not use the Back button if you want to resubmit the details on a page.
You should always use the navigation links provided and create a new channel rule definition.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs85/deploy/cluster.html
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13214_01/wli/docs81/relnotes/relnotesLimit.html
    http://otndnld.oracle.co.jp/document/products/owli/docs10gr3/pdf/deploy.pdf
This problem has been seen in the past when defining the channel rule for an RDBMS Event Generator if schema name was specified with the incorrect case (i.e. lowercase when it should have been uppercase or vice versa). To that end, it is suggested to change the case of the schema when creating the channel rule
    Regards,
    Kal

  • Defining Channel Rules for a RDBMS Event Generator

    Hi
I am trying to build my first RDBMS event (http://e-docs.bea.com/wli/docs81/manage/evntgen.html#1123751)
But I can only find the other types of events in the console
(File, Email, JMS, Times, MQ Series and HTTP).
What am I doing wrong? I have been reading through the help for the wliconsole too, and it doesn't say anything at all about RDBMS
    Jon

In sp3, there is "Application Integration Design Console" avaliable at:
    http://localhost:7001/wlai
and you can use this utility to define event generator for DB, but the utility at sp4 is better...

  • WLI 8.1 RDBMS Event Generator Problem

    Hi,
I am using WLI 8.1 SP4. I have created a Trigger type RDBMSEventGenerator which publishes events in xml format.
It is supposed to poll every 8 seconds.
This event generator works fine if it is created after the server is started.
However, if the server is restarted, the same event generator stops polling completely. No events are published irrespective of the number of inserts made in the specified table.
Could anyone shed some light on why this is happening. I have tried to suspend and resume the event generator several times as well, to no effect.

I would ask in the WebLogic Server - JMS forum.

  • RDBMS Event Generator

The RDBMS EG (from sp4 - it replaces the RDBMS adapter)produces an error when creating the channel rule definition:
'java.lang.illegalArgumentException: illegal group reference at java.util.regex.Matcher.appendReplacement...'
...when generating event triggers on (oracle) tables with colum-names containing '$' (which is end-of-line in java!!)
Is there any workaround (other than change the colum-names, which is not an option here since all DB names are auto-created by another apps.)?
    Thanks
    TH

Is it my question not clear? can someone let me know what am missing. I'm struggling get this working..

    Well
At last I've found the answer...
In order to successfully create an RDBMS Event Generator, the creation app (in this case, wliconsole) must have access to the destination datasource. Thus, both connection pool and datasource targeted by the RDBMS EG must be deployed in the same server running the wliconsole.
In this particular case, I just had to redeploy my datasources targetting all servers in the cluster plus the admin server and that's it...
    See you...
    O.

    Hi,
RDBMS Event Generator Channel Rule Definition

I see what you are saying.
The JNDI approach should work-we will try to reproduce this internally.
I would recommend leveraging the OSGi service registry, instead of using JNDI, however. The Event Server is a modular server based on OSGi, so one should use the OSGi service registry whenever possible instead of using the jndi registry. Jndi is primarily there to support legacy code that requires Jndi.
Any data sources that you configure are automatically registered in the OSGi service registry. When there is more than one data source they can be distinguished using their name.
There are a couple of options.
If you want to inject a reference to your datasource into a Spring bean, you can use an annotation, @Service, to annotate a setter method on your bean (see my previous post). The container will then inject a reference to the data source into the bean.
You can also put the following in your spring application context file
    <osgi:reference id="myDataSource"
    interface="javax.sql.DataSource"/>
This creates a bean proxy that references the datasource by looking up the datasource in the OSGi service registry. It works similarly to JndiObjectFactoryBean, but it uses the OSGi service registry instead of the JNDI registry. You can read more about it here
    http://www.springframework.org/osgi/specification
    (Look in section 3.3)
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Scott,
I need a transaction from the MDB since I am not using an EJb to pursue the action.
Hence I need to retain the <trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute> at the
    MDB.
    Have any answers?

    It's resolved.
The MDB automatically created by JMS Event Generator defaults to be deployed
    with
“transacted”. That requires the foreign JMS provider to be “XA”.
The deployment descriptor is created as <domain-directory>/WLIJmsEG_<event_gen_name>.jar
    e.g. C:\bea812\user_projects\domains\jmsInterop\WLIJmsEG_mqQueueEventGen.jar
Since MQ in the localhost and remote SLUDV18 are not XA-enabled, we had
    to manually
change the <container-transaction> section in ejb-jar.xml:
    From :
    <trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute>
    To:
    <trans-attribute>NotSupported</trans-attribute>
