RE: DOM ?

Other than the reference partition solution, you can also use the Forte
name services. Specifically,
1. You can create a simple message class (this class should be a supply
class for both applications) and use it as the messenger between the two
applications. You need to create events for the messages you want to
communicate and send messages (as event parameters) through event
handling.
2. SO-B from App B, first will create an anchored object of this message
class and register through the name services.
you can use task.part.ObjectLocationMgr to do this job, For example:
task.Part.ObjectLocationMgr.RegisterObject(name = 'MessageObjectName',
object = your anchored message object, duration = DO_DURATION_SESSION);
SO-B should put this message object in an event loop and listen if any
event has been raised.
3. SO-A from App A can use
task.Part.ObjectLocationMgr.RegisterObject.BindObject method to bind to
this message object. When SO-A needs to talk to SO-B, SO-A can raise an
event from the message object. Since SO-B is listening for the event,
it will get the request.
If you need two way communication, you can put this message object in an
event loop as well.
4. In case App B is not up, you can put a timer to time out the request.
The major benefit of this approach is App-A and App-B can stay
independent/trasparent. They don't need knowledge of each other except
for the small message class. (App-A doesn't have to be in the supplier
plans of App-B). So, when you change something unrelated to the message
class in App-A, App-B won't be affected.
Hope this helps.

  • Difference between DOM and SAX

    Difference between DOM and SAX

    a sax parser is event driven meaning it processes the xml as it sees it and then forgets about it.
    you have to implement what you want the parser to do wants it reaches a certain event
    dom on the other hand keeps the whole structure of the message in memory as a tree.
    so there are strengths and weaknesses in both.
    you have to evaluate what you need

  • How to Get RGB Values from a CMYK Color in the DOM (CS5)

    (CS5, Actionscript)
    Hi all,
    I have an InDesign document containing TextFrames whose border colors are specified as a CMYK array.
    I would like to be able to get its color specification as its closest RGB equivalent.
    Does the InDesign DOM contain a method for doing this for me automatically?  If not, what workarounds are there?
    TIA,
    mlavie

    Here's how to convert RGB to CMYK:
    function rgb2CMYK (r,g,b){
        var color = app.documents[0].colors.add({space:ColorSpace.RGB,colorValue:[r,g,b]});
        color.space = ColorSpace.CMYK;
        var retVal = color.colorValue;
        color.remove();
        return retVal;
    The same idea for the reverse.
    For info on converting to grayscale, check out this:

    I am trying to setup wireless using my old dome Airport Extreme Base station. I had previously used it about 5 years ago when I had dial up but have now switched to DSL with Windstream. I can not get connected as the ABS keeps trying to dial up(the old phone number). When I tried to change my network settings an annoying popup window says "your network settings have been changed by another application'. I have no idea what the message is all about and when I close this window it immediately pops up again and prevents me -as far as I can tell -from changing my Airport settings?  I need advice on how to get this wireless setup done. Maybe a reset? or something else? I have the DSL phone line plugged into WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem and then the ethernet (yellow) wire from the WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem to the port on the dome that is a circle of dots.

    1)Can you explain how using the AEBS as a bridge will work with the Seimens Speedstream4200?
    As a bridge, the AEBS will basically become a wireless access point. This will allow the AEBS to provide a wireless network, but still allow the Speedstream to provide NAT & DHCP services for the wireless clients connected to the AEBS. If the AEBS was left as a router, you would have a double-NAT condition which isn't necessary bad in itself, but would create a second subnet. That would make it more difficult for clients connected to the AEBS to access clients connected to the Speedstream.
    2) Is there a link that will guide me through the steps to set the AEBS as a bridge?
    You can easily reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge using the AirPort Utility.
    ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
    3)Can I just connect the DSL phone line to the AEBS and eliminate the Speedstream4200?
    Unfortunately no. The AEBS does not have a built-in DSL modem. You will still need the Speedstream to provide this function.

  • How can I process an xml/xsl file pair that require the Internet Explorer dom?

    My personal navigation device (GPS) generates xml files that contain a record of where I have been, together with when I was there, how fast I was driving at the time, etc. taken at approx. 5 second intervals. This xml file has an xml-stylesheet with type="text/xsl" but that stylesheet is written to the Internet Explorer dom standard. The stylesheet interfaces with google maps to display a map that shows my path and it also displays tables of data including distances that are computed from latitude/longitude pairs. I can supply a small sample xml file and the xsl file as well if they are needed to diagnose my problem. I cannot find any browser other than Internet Explorer that handles these files satisfactorily. I prefer to process them from a Linux environment but with the Internet Explorer requirement I cannot do so. The browsers that I have tried and that have failed are Firefox, Opera, Konqueror, Chrome, Epiphany, Midori, Arora, and Links.
    One line in the xls file in particular gives grief in the browsers like Firefox that at least attempt to do more than display the raw xml file:
    xmlns:cymath="urn:smiletime-cybarber-net:math"
    A comment in the xls file says this about the problem:
    "Tested and currently only compatible with Internet Explorer version 6 or version 7 (as this script includes JScript functions called by XSL, msxsl:script extension is required; also, the produced XHTML document embeds javascript functions exploiting the IE DOM).
    "In order to provide compatibility with Firefox, other than checking the compatibility of the IE DOM, the cymath:distCosineLaw function still needs to be ported."

    You may get an answer, but it is not really the sort of subject covered by this forum, I suggest you try [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=49 Mozilazine] and if you solve the problem post back again.

  • How to get Line number from a DOM Element

    Hi
    I am using dom xerces parser. Is there anyway to work out which line number a element will be when it is outputted into a file ??

    org.w3c.dom.DOMLocator method getLineNumber() returns the line number at which an error occurs.
    A corrresponding method for file output is not defined.

  • How to modify a node value in a DOM tree?

    I have following code; it parses a XML file from a file and builds a in-memory DOM tree, but when I tries to modify one of the node value, it keeps telling me: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDOMException: Node cannot be modified. How do I do it?
    // ==================================
    DOMParser theParser = new DOMParser();
    theParser.setValidationMode(false);
    InputStream theInputStream = myApp.class.getResourceAsStream("/test.xml");
    theParser.parse(theInputStream);
    XMLDocument theXMLDoc = theParser.getDocument();
    NodeList theNodeList = theXMLDoc.selectNodes("/root/child");
    for (int i = 0; i < theNodeList.getLength(); i++)
    theNodeList.item(i).setNodeValue("test");
    null

    You're trying to set the node value of an element, which cannot have a node value.
    You need to set the node value of the text-node child of the element instead.
    Or remove the current text-node child and append a new text-node child with the new value.

  • Applescript Help: Search for text in Safari DOM tree

    Im trying to make a script really similar what was asked here: Re: Find text in webpage and email notification applescript/automator Except instead of searching the "source code" of the page, I want the script to search the "DOM tree" for the page.
    To summarize, I am trying to make a script that loads a safari page, searches for a particular text in the DOM Tree, and if found will send me an email.
    Here is the code from the other thread I referenced:
    on idle
              set pagURL to "http://page.url.com?whatever"
              if application "Safari" is not running then
                        quit
                        return
              end if
              tell application "Safari"
                        set URL of document 1 of window 1 to "http://your.web.address/"
                        delay 5
      -- delay to let page load.
                        if source of document 1 of window 1 contains "search text" then
                                  my sendAMail()
                        end if
                        return 900 --fifteen minutes
              end tell
    end idle
    on sendAMail()
              tell application "Mail"
                        set theMess to make new outgoing message at end with properties {sender:"your name", subject:"some subject line", content:"The message you want to send to yourself", visible:true}
                        tell theMess
                                   make new to recipient at end of to recipients with properties {address:"[email protected]"}
                        end tell
      -- send theMess
              end tell
    end sendAMail
    Any help would be appreciated!

    For the URL you quote as an example (http://www.sislands.com/coin70/week2/NestedLoops1.htm), using text instead of source worked for me:
    if text of document 1 of window 1 contains "1  2  3  4" then
    another example:
    if text of document 1 of window 1 contains "10 12 14 16" then
    Note a double space between single digits (1  2  3  4) and a single space between double digits (10 12 14 16) is required for a match as per the table format:
    Any full line:
    if text of document 1 of window 1 contains "for (i = 1; i <= 10; i++) { // when i = 10" then
    or partial line works:
    if text of document 1 of window 1 contains "; i++) { // when i = 10" then

  • Extracting elements from an xml string - org.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredText

    Hello all,
    I am new to xml, and I thought I had a handle on things until I got this problem...I am getting an xml string from the body of an e-mail message, and then I am trying to extract elements out of it. Here is an example xml string:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <filterRoot>
       <filter action="MOVE" bool="AND" name="My Saved Filter" target="Deleted Items">
          <condition attribute="TO" bool="AND" contains="CONTAINS">
             <value>[email protected]</value>
             <value>[email protected]</value>
             <value>[email protected]</value>
             <value>[email protected]</value>
             <value>[email protected]</value>
          </condition>
       </filter>
    </filterRoot>I am trying to extract the <filter> element out and store it into a Vector of Elements (called, not surprisingly, filters). However, I am getting a class cast exception:
    java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredTextImplIt is being called from where I trying to extract the <filter> in this way:
            filterRoot = doc.getDocumentElement(); // get topmost element
            NodeList list = filterRoot.getChildNodes();
            Vector newFilters = new Vector();
            debug("There are "+list.getLength()+" filters in document");
            for(int i=0; i<list.getLength(); i++) {
                Node n = list.item(i);
                debug("Node "+i+" getNodeValue() is "+n.getNodeValue());
                Element temp = (Element)n;
                newFilters.add(temp);
            }Perhaps my question is, how do I correctly get hold of the <filter> node so that I may cast it as an Element?
    thanks,
    Riz

    Yes, I already knew that it is not a bug.
    But, I got next step problem.
    I put "false" to "include-ignorable-whitespace" feature in xerces parser.
    But, I still found unnecessary TextNodes in my parser object.
    Feature link : http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-j/features.html.
    I use xerces-2_8_0.
    DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
    parser.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/dom/include-ignorable-whitespace", false);
    parser.parse(inputSource);
    document = ps.getDocument();
    System.out.println(document.getDocumentElement().getChildNodes().length()); // still wrong lengthIs tehre any example of usage this feature?
    What is default defination of white-space "\n "(enter with one space) or " "(juz white space) or something else?
    Thanks,

    Hi, thanks for your reply i knew the FileUplaod was the way forward.
    I read topics advising to use the FileUpload and tried the following but it did not seem to work ( i get an HTTP Internal Server error when i try that):
    try
    DiskFileUpload upload = new DiskFileUpload();
    boolean isMultipart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(request);
    if( isMultipart )
    List items = upload.parseRequest( request );
    Iterator iter = items.iterator();
    while( iter.hasNext() )
    FileItem fileItem = ( FileItem ) iter.next();
    File uploadedFile = new File("myreceivedfile.zip");
    fileItem.write( uploadedFile );
    }catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println("RECEIVER: " + e.getMessage());
    Also DiskFileUpload,isMultipartContent and parseRequest have a line going through the middle (horizontal middle).

  • Invoking BPEL process from Java servlet with org.w3c.dom.Element as payload

    Hello,
    I'm trying to initiate a BPEL process from my servlet running under Tomcat. When I create the NormalizedMessage passing the XML as a String everything works fine. But if I use an org.w3c.domElement the BPEL server doesn't react at all (even on DEBUG log level there are no outputs).
    This works:
    NormalizedMessage message = new NormalizedMessage();
    message.addPart("payload", "<foo></foo>");
    This doesn't work:
    org.w3c.dom.Element elem;
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDocument xmlDocument;
    NormalizedMessage message = new NormalizedMessage();
    Element elem = xmlDocument.createElement("foo");
    message.addPart("payload", elem);
    Is there a known problem with payloads using Element or did I get something completely wrong? Thanks in advance,
    Hans.
