Re: searching database from a textfield entry

Hi, i am trying to search mySql database from the input of a jtextfield. Please can some add me to there msn and help me its really really important and urgent. my msn is [email protected]
Your soonest responce would be greatly appreciated as would your help.

Pelvinder Bhamra.

There are many good examples of this in the tutorials. You might even find a solution just by searching some of the forums. Basically you need to;
Load a jdbc driver for your database.
Get a connection to database.
Construct a SQL statement e.g. select * from <table> where <column name> = < value from textfield>
process the ResultSet you get back.

  • T/X model SORTing Find/Search results from Most Current Entry

    Have the Palm T/X model, and use the FIND/search function constantly.
    The results always come up from the earliest (oldest) entry to the most current.
    This is a major league pain-in-the-butt especially when there are tons of entries to go thru to get to the most current date.
    Is there any way to sort the FIND results so that they show from most Recent entry to the oldest.
    This would be a HUGE Help.
    Thx!

    There is a pulsing, reddish dot in the middle of the
    blue light but on the hard drive itself, I don't see
    any "lights" in any "menu bar".
    It's at blue circle with a white Q-shaped symbol at the right end of your menu bar.
    If you dare to use the terminal application (can be found in the utilities folder) you can use the following command to re-index that drive. Start Terminal and type (or paste) the following line and hit enter:
    sudo mdutil -E "/Volumes/xxx/"
    Replace "xxx" with the name of Your drive! If there is a space in that name type it like "/Volumes/My\ Drive/"! You will be prompted for Your admin password to proceed.

  • Search content from seperate Content Database using Scope

    Hi there,
    I am asked to move all non-active old sites to a seperate Archive Content Database (ACDB). Management don't want to see any content from ACDB. If required to search content from ACDB, scope should be used anywhere in the webapplication to search only from
    ACDB.
    I am thinking to create a Archive Content DB and move all non-active site collection to it. Create a scope and make it available to all site collections.
    Is it so simple of I am missing some more steps.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Mickey

    Hi Mickey,
    Your direction is right.
    One point that you need to note is that you need to create the scope in SharePoint Central Administration, then configure the scope displaying in site collections.
    More information about how to configure scopes in SharePoint 2010, you can refer to:
    http://www.surfray.com/blog/2013/06/17/how-to-configure-scopes-in-sharepoint-2010/

    Hello;
    Script has to be run from auxiliary.
    Great details, but what I don't see is how you connect in RMAN.
    Example
    Start RMAN
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@recover2 auxiliary=sys/@reclone
    Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production on Wed Feb 22 14:50:31 2012
    Copyright (c) 1982, 2009, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
    connected to target database: RECOVER2 (DBID=3806912436)
    connected to auxiliary database: RECLONE (not mounted)Nothing in your tnsnames or listener jumps out as wrong. I copied them into my text editor and compared against my working ones.
    Generally for active duplication I start the future standby on a pfile NOMOUNT.
    Auxiliary Instance Initialization Parameters Needed :
    DB_NAME
    CONTROL_FILES
    DB_BLOCK_SIZE
    ( add extra parameters like DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT instead of using the SET command - clean up standby spfile right after duplication )
    Then start RMAN and finally run a single line duplication command.
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@primary auxiliary=sys/@standby
    RMAN>duplicate target database for standby from active database NOFILENAMECHECK;Best Regards

  • Creating physical standby database from another physical standby database

    hi,
    We have one production database and one physical standby of the production. Now we have situation where we need to create one database from either production or from standby. As production is loaded we can not do it using active database option. Now we have the only option to copy the database from standby.
    As of now we open the standby and copy it using rman duplicate database and again we put it back to standby mode.
    Is it possible to create standby database from standby database only?
    Oracle version : 11.1.0.7.0
    I have seen procedure allowing to do the same in version 11.2.0.3. I have tried searching for the difference but didn't find when this feature was introduced.
    Thanks,
    Ketul Patel

    Hello;
    Active duplicate should work when connected to Standby as source Database. However there's a bug 11715084 which is not fixed until version 11.2.0.4.
    If patch 11715084 is available for your version it may work, but all the 11.1.0 are gone so I have no way to test.

    Don't know if this will help, but I use the connect string below to connect, then run the command below. This is, of course, after the rman backup from the prod system has been copied to the flash_recovery_area of the aux database. All file paths are the same between the two systems. Works like a charm most nights. The local tnsnames file on the rman catalog server has working entries for @SDPROD, @rman and @SDSTB.

  • Cannot Convert standby database from snapshot to physical

    Hello all,
    I am using Oracle Entreprise version 11gR1 and had made the followings configuration:
    - ANAISMD2 : primary database+_+
    - ANAISMD3 : physical standby datbase. Created via RMAN
    Both are located on the same host running a RH 4.
    ANAISMD3 is maintained successfully with the primary.
    I can make a fail-over between the both: it works fine.
    I can convert ANAISMD3 from physical to snapshot via DGMGRL: it works fine
    But I cannot convert back ANAISMD3 to physical, got an error ORA-12514
    I had checked also the listener service for both ANAISMD2/ANAISMD3 before launching the conversion:
    - the services shown on ANAISMD3 seems correct e.g. ANAISMD2 is seen as a remote server.
    - but on ANAISMD2, ANAISMD3 seems incorrect e.g. ANAISMD3 is seen as a local server.
    I had attached some screen shots of dg/lsnrctl results;
    What are the mistakes
    Thank in advance for support

    You need to have static service registered with listener in this way. This is must because as you know when it converts db that time it shutsdown dbs also so all dynamic services are lost and dgmgrl is not ale to connect to db hence conversion fails.
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = ORACLE_SID)
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME=db_unique_name_DGMGRL.db_domain)
    (ORACLE_HOME = /apps/oracle/product/11.1.0)
    Plus with this make a entry in tnsnames.ora using service name from above or check from lsnrctl status look for service "db_unique_name_DGMGRL.db_domain"
    e.g. this is my best practice how i give the names to tns entry
    db_unique_name_DGMGRL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (SDU = 32767)
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = hostname)(PORT = port))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = db_unique_name_DGMGRL.db_domain)
    Define same way in both primary and standby db.
    Now use these tns entries to create configuration.
    e.g.
    create configuration prim_db as primary database is db_unique_name connect identifier is "db_unique_name_DGMGRL";
    -- db_unique_name_DGMGRL from primary tns entry
    add database stdby_db as connect identifier is "db_unique_name_DGMGRL" MAINTAINED AS PHYSICAL;
    -- db_unique_name_DGMGRL from standby db tns entry
    hope this will help

  • Problem in connecting to database from webdynpro for java

    Hi
    I have a problem in connecting to database from webdynpro application
    I am using oracle 10 express edition as database and was able to connect to database from a java application.But  was unable to connect from a webdynpro for java.
    <b>I guess webdynpro for java uses open sql instead of vendor sql(I looked in the visual admin ,DB is using open sql) so unable to connect to database.Am i right.?</b>
    Do i need to make any settings in the visual admin to make it work?
    How to solve this problem.Please give me pointers
    Thanks
    Bala

    Hi,
    For connecting to Oracle, either you can use the normal JDBC connectivty code directly which is given below :
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");
    In case you want to fetch data through ejbs, these are the steps to be followed :
    1) Open the J2EE perspective
    2) Create an EJB Module project
    3) Right click on ejbModule, create a new EJB (select your EJB type)
    4) While creating the ejb itself, you can add business methods by clicking ‘Next’ in the UI. Another option is after creating the ejb, write the method in the bean, then select the method from ejb-jar.xml -> <bean name> ->method. Right click and select ‘propogate to local & remote’.
    5) Double click on ejb-j2ee-engine.xml. select your bean and specify a Jndi name for eg: “MyJndi”.
    6) Right click on the EJB project and add ‘classes12.zip’ file (provided by Oracle) to it’s build path. (under libraries tab). Also check the same file under ‘Order & Export’.
    7) Create an Enterprise Application project.
    8) Right click on the EJB module project and select add to EAR project, then select the created EAR project.
    9) Right click on the EJB project, select ‘Build EJB Archive’
    10) Right click on the EAR project, select ‘Build Application Archive’
    11) Open the WebDynpro perspective, open a new project, right click on the project ->properties. Do the following configurations :-
    • Java Build path - select the EJB project from ‘projects’ , check the selected project under ‘Order & Export’
    • Project references – select the EAR project
    • WebDynpro references – select ‘sharing references’ tab, click add & make an entry as : <vendor>/<EAR project name without .ear extension>
    You can find the vendor name under ‘application-j2ee-engine.xml’ file of the EAR project. By default it is ‘sap.com’. So if my EAR project’s name is ABC, my entry would look like ‘sap.com/ABC’
    12) Now the configurations are over and the EJB can be invoked by writing the client code inside the webdynpro component. Like:
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    Object obj = context.lookup("MyJndi");
    MyEJBHome home = MyEJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj,MyEJBHome.class);
    MyEJB mybean = home.create();
    int a = 0;
    a= mybean.add(10,15);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setSum(a);
    where ‘MyEJB’ is my EJB name and ‘MyJndi’ is my JNDI name
    To connect to Oracle , you can write the usual Java code (given below) as a business methos of the ejb (similar to add() method in the example). And access it like mybean.<businessMethodName>().
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@Oracle_server_ip:Oracle port:SID of the Database","user_name","password");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("your query");

  • Bug in the  search database of Javahelp

    Hi all,
    in this project I am importing from Framemaker and generating Javahelp output. The Javahelp does not work when there are non-ASCII characters in the topic filenames (such as accents or umlauts). Therefore I have to adjust the file naming in the imort settings to "<$filename_no_ext>-<n>". As a result I get topics with numbered filenames and all seems well.
    BUT with this setting the Javahelp displays the totally cryptic filenames of the topics as search results. Why does Robohelp not create a search database with the topic titles as search results?
    How do you handle Javahelp projects for non-english languages?
    Robert

    I have the same problem. I have a registered domain name which contains a "-" character. Its not possible to set it correctly because it is filtered out. A "-" is an valid part of a domain name so why it is filtered? I have tried to edit the bootpd.plist file, but its getting overidden after a few seconds.
    Could anyone help? A fix is absolutely necessary, without it I have to change the search domain on all client computers.
