  • Static lookup lists:read data from a Java *.properties file

    Hi
    i need to make static lookup lists i am using read data from a Java *.properties file
    i am using the Class "PropertyFileBasedLookupViewObjectImpl" that wrote by Steve Muench in ToyStore.
    but i need to use the default language for that i update the loadDataFromPropertiesFile()
    method to find the correct properties file
    String temp=Locale.getDefault().getLanguage();
    String propertyFile =
    getViewDef().getFullName().replace('.', '/')+"_"+temp+ ".properties";
    the problem:
    For English(TEST_en.properties) it is good and working
    For Arabic(TEST_ar.properties) read from correct file _ar.properties
    but the dispaly character is wrong
    When Debug
    In the File 1=دمشق
    In debug 1=/u32423

    Depending on your use case you can either use a programmatic VO or directly expose the JV class as a data control.

    Hi,
    The trouble in "<default>:"  - if you set XML_PATH as C:\DATA_FILE\www.xml instead  <default>:C:\DATA_FILE\www.xml- it will work correctly.

  • How to extract data from an arbitrary xml file and export in a nice csv file?

    Hallo,
    I'm facing big problems in the use of XML files. I have an
    application which generates XML files with clusters containing arrays
    and scalars like in the example pasted below. My task is to
    read it and export the data in a human-friendly CSV document.
    Since I don't know the actual content of the cluster, I need some kind
    of intelligent vi which goes through the XML file looking for arrays
    and other data structures in order to export them properly in the CSV
    format (columns with headers).
    Thank you

    Thank you again,
    I'm forwarding my vi draft with many comments and an xml file sample.
    Data in cluster is stored according to the LabVIEW schema, infact it is generated by LabVIEW.
    What I'm trying to do is to access the element of the cluster and read their content using the Invoke node and Property node functions. Could you give it a look, there may be something wrong, I'm not able to access cluster children.
    Which funcions should I use? Could you give me an example? You may use the draft I enclosed...
    Then write these data in a csv file
    should be the easier part.

  • Collect data from a dynamic XML file into multiple internal tables

    I need to convert the XML file into multiple internal tables. I tried many links and posts in SDN but still was facing difficulty in achieving this. Can some one tell me where I am going wrong.
    My XML file is of the following type.It is very complex and the dynamice.
    The following tags occur more than once in the XML file. The "I" and "L" tags and its child tags can occur ones or more than once for each XML file and it is not constant. i.e in one file they can occur 1 time and in another they can occur 100 times.
    "I" and "L" are child tags of <C>
    <I>
           <J>10</J>
             <K>EN</K>
      </I>
    <L>
             <J>20</J>
              <N>BB</N>
      </L>
    Tags <C> and <F> occur only ones for each XML file. <C> is the child tag of "A" and "F" is the child tag of <C>.
    I need to collect <D>, <E> in one internal table ITAB.
    I need to collect <G>, <H> in one internal table JTAB.
    I need to collect <J>, <K> in one internal table KTAB.
    I need to collect <J>, <N> in one internal table PTAB.
    Below is the complete XML file.
    ?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>
    <A>
        <B/>
        <C>
           <D>RED</D>
           <E>999</E>
        <F>
           <G>TRACK</G>
           <H>PACK</H>
        </F>
        <I>
           <J>10</J>
           <K>EN</K>
        </I>
        <I>
           <J>20</J>
           <K>TN</K>
        </I>
        <I>
           <J>30</J>
           <K>KN</K>
        </I>
        <L>
           <J>10</J>
           <N>AA</N>
        </L>
        <L>
           <J>20</J>
           <N>BB</N>
        </L>
        <L>
           <J>30</J>
           <N>CC</N>
        </L>
        </C>
      </A>
    With the help of SDN I am able to gather the values of <D> <E> in one internal table.
    Now if I need to gather
    <G>, <H> in one internal table JTAB.
    <J>, <K> in one internal table KTAB.
    <J>, <N> in one internal table PTAB.
    I am unable to do. I am following  XSLT transformation method. If some one has some suggestions. Please help.

    Now the above pgm and transformation work well and I am able to extract data into the ITAB. Now what changes should I make in transformation and in pgm to collect
    <G>, <H> in one internal table JTAB.
    <J>, <K> in one internal table KTAB.
    <J>, <N> in one internal table PTAB.
    Please help..i am really tring hard to figure this out. I am found lot of threads addressing this issue but not my problem.
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    VS

    Hi Rammohan,
    Thanks for the effort!
    But I don't need to use GUI upload because my functionality does not require to fetch data from presentation server.
    Moreover, the split command advised by you contains separate fields...f1, f2, f3... and I cannot use it because I have 164 fields.  I will have to split into 164 fields and assign the values back to 164 fields in the work area/header line.
    Moreover I have about 10 such work areas.  so the effort would be ten times the above effort! I want to avoid this! Please help!
    I would be very grateful if you could provide an alternative solution.
    Thanks once again,
    Best Regards,

  • Reading data from Hashtable in another file

    how do i read the data from Hashtable which is created in another file. The file which creates hashtable is continuously running , and i want to read the content of the hash table into another file. Both the file exist in same machine.
    Help needed.
    Ancitipated Thanks

    Then you mean "class" or "object", not "file". Yes, you see the details of these classes in the source code files, and the compiled classes are kept in files, but programmers don't think of the files, they think of the objects running in the JVM. By calling them "files" you're causing confusion.
    Anyway, multiple threads can access a hashtable, which is synchronized apparently. So that alone shouldn't be a problem. If you have one object adding to a hashtable while another is reading its contents via an iterator, that could cause ConcurrentModificationExceptions.

  • Best way to browse and read data from a lot of files?

    Hi All,
    I am trying to read tags from music files. Currently I'm listing all the files and then reading through the tags, as below:
    List<File> result = new ArrayList<File>();
    FilenameFilter mp3filter = new FilenameFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {
              return name.endsWith(".mp3");
    FilenameFilter wmafilter = new FilenameFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {
              return name.endsWith(".wma");
    FileFilter dirFilter = new FileFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File file) {
              return file.isDirectory();
    File[] dirList = aStartingDir.listFiles(dirFilter);
    File[] mp3files = aStartingDir.listFiles(mp3filter);
    File[] wmafiles = aStartingDir.listFiles(wmafilter);
    List<File> filesDirs = Arrays.asList(dirList);
    List<File> filesMp3 = Arrays.asList(mp3files);
    List<File> filesWma = Arrays.asList(wmafiles);
    for (File file : filesMp3) {
         result.add(file);
    for (File file : filesWma) {
         result.add(file);
    for (File file : filesDirs) {
         List<File> deeperList = getFileListing(file);
         result.addAll(deeperList);
    }and then read the files in a for loop through the list.
    Is there a better way to do the same?

    Well, you could optimize that just a little bit by only calling listFiles once with a filter that would accept directories, wmas, and mp3s all in one go. Then you could iterate through the results and separate them into the three categories after you had the complete recursive directory listing. That may be faster. But your OS will likely cache the results of the directory listing, thus minimizing the effort of your current approach. But honestly, no... you need the headers from every file, so you'll need to find each file and then check the headers.
    If you want, you can cache the results somewhere for future reference. Are you concerned about performance or some such?

  • How to read data from PC format external disk, using Labview MAC

    Hi folks,
    For years I have not been able to read data files from a PC formatted (created) external disk, using Labview for Mac. More specifically:
     - I have Labview 7.01 running on OS X 10.4.11 on a PowerBook G4
     - I have a 500GB external USB/firewire disk that was formatted on a PC and has data files (custom format) that were created on the PC. I believe that C code actually creates the files, but Labview 7/PC opens the files and appends some info (I don't think the fact that C or Labview touches the files is actually relevant to this issue though).
     - I can connect the 500 GB disk to my mac, and it will mount just fine and OS X can see all of the data files (and anything else on the disk).
     - if I use my Labview app to open and read a data file it fails:
           - open/create/replace.vi (with read-only access) shows a file dialog window that lets me navigate to any file on the external disk.
           - but, the vi returns an error 7
     - if I use OS X to copy the data file to my Mac disk, my Labview app works fine.
    So, does anyone know if:
     - I'm just doing something wrong in my Mac Labview app?
     - Labview 7.x solves this problem?
     - Labview 8/Mac solves this problem?
     - OS X 10.5 solves this problem; with Labview 7 or 8; or does OS X 10.5 worsen the problem?
    Thanks, in advance...

    Hi kehander,
    Thanks for the reply. I tried filling a constant path with the Mac-defined path to a data file on the USB disk (ie "DATA2:file1.dat"). This resulted in the same error message.
    I then considered that maybe I was misinterpreting the LV error message, and that perhaps I was supposed to address the file using PC-notation (ie. "DATA2\file1.dat"), even though the app is running on a Mac. No joy with this, but I get a different error msg:
    "Error 1430 occurred at Open File
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW:  The path is empty or relative. You must use an absolute path."
    Can you share what your reasoning was for your suggestion... I'm not sure I understand why a constant path would produce different results?

  • Read data from MCU with bluetooth with using labview function ?

    Hi.
    I send data from MCU to labview. I do this work with usb to serial pl2303TA and it work well.
    recently I decide to use bluetooth for communicate between MCU and LV. MCU use a bluetooth module like HC-05 or BC-04.
    with using VISA read functions we just use a VISA configured serial and read functions.
    in bluetooth we must use which functions for receive data ? and where we can use them ?
    I use bluetooth discover function and it show my phone or module ID. what are other steps for reading data ?
    Thanks.

    As Dennis_Knuttson pointed out, if you associate a COM port to your bluetooth adapter on your LV PC, you can just use very simple VISA functions.
    Maybe this example can help you how to do this (this one is an Android<-PC serial comm via bluetooth):

  • Can i get the data from BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA to XML file through XI

    Friends,
    I am using BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA bapi from R3 as sender and  XML as a receiver in XI.
    Please help me with this scenario. how can i proceed further.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
    What is your actual requirement. if you go se37 and give ur BAPI name there.Then Execute it. it will ask many parameter like first name , last name, etc. right?
    I belive your scenario is synchronous one. So first the RFC need some input from the sender, based upon input the RFC seach the tables and give back the response with full information about the employee.. say you giving input first_name as "michael" it will give you record which has last name as michael.
    So the scenario will look like
    sender file system (Req parameter) ---  > RFC (get the input and extract the data based on the input) ---> sender file system(response)
    please check the following link

  • Read lines from more than 1 file of different file extensions, extract the data and output to screen

    Hi,
    I am trying to read data from more than one file at once. The files are different types e.g. one is a text file one is an xml file like so, StudentInformation.txt, CollegeInformation.xml. The files are all stored in one place, in this case on the D drive of
    a local computer. I am trying to locate any files in the D drive with a file extension of .txt or of .xml (there may be more than two of these files in the future, so I'm trying to allow for that). Then I want to open all of these files, extract the information
    and output all the information in one display window. I want all the information from these two or more files to be displayed together in the display window.
    Here is the code so far. It is throwing up errors.
            //Load from txt or xml files
            private void btnLoad_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
                    IEnumerable<string> fileContents = Directory.EnumerateFiles("D:\\", "*.*", SearchOption.TopDirectoryOnly)
                    .Select(x => new FileInfo(x))
                    .Where(x => x.Extension == ".xml" || x.Extension == ".txt")
                    .Select(file => ParseFile(file));}
                    private string ParseFile(FileInfo file)
                        try
                            using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(file.FullName))
                                string line;
                                while ((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null)
                                    //Logic here to determine if this is the correct file and append accordingly
                                    lbDisplay.Items.Add(line);
                                return line;
                        catch (Exception ex)
                            // Let the user know what went wrong
                            MessageBox.Show("The file could not be read: ");
                            MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    The error it throws up is:
    Error 1
    'BookList.MainWindow.ParseFile(System.IO.FileInfo)': not all code paths return a value

    This is the Small Basic programming language so moving to a C# forum.
    But you need all paths to return a value, including if an exception is called and it jumps to the catch, perhaps just:
    // Let the user know what went wrong
    MessageBox.Show("The file could not be read: ");
    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
    return "";

    This was not my required answer.I am sorry that I was unable to clarify my question.Actually
    +This project executed successfully with some warning.Target Table is automatically created in database and also populated with data.But when I right-click Target Datastore(in >Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that needs to be inserted in the target table.I get some error like this:-...+This above line is the result of my project my problem is
    when I right-click Target Datastore(in Mapping Tab of the Interface), and then select Data to View Data that already inserted in the target table.Is not shown by the view data operation.
    I meant to say I am facing this error
    At the10(1010 written) step of
    Creating a New ODI Interface to Perform XML File to RDBMS Table Transformation
    wehre it says
    Open the Interface tab. Select Mapping tab, right-click Target Datastore - CLIENT, and then select Data. View Data inserted in the target table. Close Data Editor. Close the tabs...
    In my case when I use my sqldeveloper I can see data successfully inserted in my target table and also in error table (data that can't satisfy the constraint) .But I was unable to check this by following the above mentioned 10 th step and got this error.
    Thanks

  • Reading data from a XML file.

    Hi,
      I am new user to webdynpro and has the task of reading data from XML file.The file is created using XML form Builder and is stored at a location.But my code gives me the path instead of the content in the data.
    The code is :
    try
          IWDClientUser wdClientUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
           com.sap.security.api.IUser sapUser = wdClientUser.getSAPUser();
    // create an ep5 user from the retrieved user
           IUser ep5User = WPUMFactory.getUserFactory().getEP5User(sapUser);
           IResourceContext context = new ResourceContext(ep5User);
    /Specify the path of ur document here./
           RID pathRID = RID.getRID("/documents/70f51182-84c3-2710-ce91-8d5fbfde713d.xml");
           //RID pathRID = RID.getRID("/documents/hol.txt");
           wdContext.currentContextElement().setSetDisp(pathRID.toString());
           IResource resource = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(pathRID, context);
           InputStream in = resource.getContent().getInputStream();
           ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
           byte[] buffer = new byte[4096];
           int bytesread = 0;
           while ((bytesread = in.read(buffer)) != -1)
               out.write(buffer, 0, bytesread);
           String myData = out.toString();
    /*myFile will containS the content of the document./
           wdContext.currentContextElement().setSetDisp(myData);
           catch (Exception e)
            // wdContext.currentContextElement().setTextdisp("IO Error:" + e.getMessage());
    text data is read from the location but XML data is not read.
    Please help me out.

    hi SriRam,
      For some reasons you are not able to change the value of attribute SetDisp ahich you gave the default value as the path using the following statement
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setSetDisp(myData);
    Remove that line.First try to open the files using creating new window instance
    IWDWindow window =
                wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createExternalWindow(
                      "http://<server name>:<port no>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs"
                            + "/documents/Public Documents/...."
                            + "/"
                            +<name>,
                      "from km repository",
                      false);
          window.open();
    Then we can be sure that the error is due to reading data using input stream
    Regards
    Rohit
