    I dont have IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW on my computer. Is it possible to load image file and display on an IMAQ graph?
    Thanks!

    Hey werwr,
    In response to: "I dont have IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW on my computer. Is it possible to load image file and display on an IMAQ graph?"
    As of right now, in order to read an image from file, you actually do need the IMAQ Vision software. The IMAQ driver without the Vision VI's will allow you to collect images from a framegrabber, and it will allow you to save those images to file. But the function that allows you to read an image from file does require the Vision VI's. Once you have the VI to read images from a file, you will be able to display the image on an IMAQ "Graph" or otherwise known as an Image Display.
    I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Reading Images from JAR Files

    Hi,
    I am having a very difficult time being able to read images from a JAR file via my Applet. I have tried everything that I know about with no luck. The only way I can get this to work is to store the images individually in a sub directory of public_html on the websever. This works, but I would like the images to come down in a JAR file for performance reasons.
    I am using Internet Explorer 5.5 for my browser. I checked the options and everything seems to be in order, but......
    I would appreciate any feedback that anyone might have on this topic..........
    Thank You....

    once in a jar file i inserted a image
    the jar file on clicking starts an frame.
    so the image was for getting that image at the icon place at top and at minimized window
    i could not get that image from jar file by new imageicon().getimage();
    but i get the image if it is in the directory in which jar file is.....
    can one explain the reason

  • Generate/Read ATML TestResults Files using LabVIEW

    I've become very interested recently in saving all my test results into XML files.  Seems like the wise way to go about this would be to use the ATML standard (http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/tii/IEEE1636-1TestResults/TestResults.html#complexType_doubleAr...).  I know this standard is supported in TestStand but I was wondering if any tools exist that would make it easier to use in LabVIEW.  (I could write it from scratch using LabVIEW's built in XML VIs but I'm not very familiar with XML in general so this would be time consuming)
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Based on his question, I think a copy of the XML file itself would be of more value, since he would like to construct the file himself. The image does not show the structure of the data.

  • I am facing a Problem with reading images from database

    Hi everybody..
    any help will be most appreciated, I am facing problem with reading images from database. I am pasting my code...

                        while (reader.Read())

                            if (imgg == null)

                            else
                                MemoryStream mstream = new MemoryStream(imgg);
                                pc1.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(mstream);
    It says Parameter not Valid... i am reading all the images from database

    I agree with Viorel. You are getting the error because the format of the data is incorrect probably because the data was modify. It may not be the reading of the database the is incorrect, but the application that wrote the data into the database. You need
    to compare the imgg array data with the data before it was written to the database to see if the data matches.  I usually start by comparing the number of bytes which is easier to check then compare the actual to isolate which function is changing the
    byte count.
    An image is binary data.  The standard VS methods for reading and writing data (usually stream classes) default to ASCII encoding which will corrupt binary data.  The solution usually is to use UTF8 encoding instead of the default ascii encoding.
    Ascii encoding with stream often aligns the data and adds extra null bytes to the end of the data which can produce these type errors.

  • Reading data from controller using MODBUS

    HI,
    I have a Honeywell UDA2182 controller and am trying to read 2 data channels from it using Labview 2010 SP1 (running on XP with the VISA and MODBUS libraries installed). The PC is connected to the controller via a RS485 - USB converter.
    I have used the 2 attached VI's which I downloaded off the web and get a reading. However the reading is 16385 for the PH probe (should be 2.02) and 17316 for the ORP probe (should be 328 mv). If the conditions of the probes are changed then the values increase or decrease respectively in what appears to be a reasonable manner.
    I am using the modbus RTU format to read the registers and believe that the controller is set correctly and labview parameters are set correctly.
    Is the register some how encrypted? And if so how do I decrypt it?
    I have done some research and it seems that the value might be encrypted, however it is not in hex or binary format.
    Any other MODBUS examples which read the values from the controller would also be appreciated.
    Please bear in mind that I have no experience with MODBUS and am no wizard with labview so clear and simple responses would be greatly appreciated.

  • Reading emails from gmail by labview

    I easily found a sample program to send an email to Gmail in LabVIEW and it works well. But I want to read emails from Gmail in LabVIEW as well. Is this possible? Thanks
    Jay
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Well, not so much a duplicate post, since that post was asking about reading attachments. This is asking about getting emails from Gmail.
    To OP: Your question is not clear. Are you trying to download emails from your Gmail account? If so, you first need to configure Gmail to turn on the POP service. I don't think this is enabled by default. The Gmail help documents tell you how to do this. Once you've done that, you can just use a POP client. You can start by trying the one posted in this thread, but be aware, that sometimes servers have their own little "quirks", as alluded to in that thread.

  • Read images from external jar file (Sun's Java L&F Graphics repository)

    Hi!
    I don't know how to read images from an external jar file. Sun has a Java Look and Feel graphics repository that contains a lot of good images that can be used on buttons and so on. This repository is delivered as a jar file, containing only images, and I want to read the image files from that jar file directly without including them inside my application jar file. The application and image jar files will be in the same directory.
    I have absolutely no clue how to solve this. Is it necessary to include the images inside my application jar file or is it possible to have them separate as I want.
    Would really appreciate some help!
    Best regards
    Lars

    Hi,
    There is two ways :
    1) Add your jarfile to the classpath.
    Use the class loader :
    URL url = ClassLoader.getSystemResource("your/package/image.gif");
    Image im = (new ImageIcon(url)).getImage();
    or
    Image im = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(url);2)If you don't want to add the jar to the classpath you can use this (under jdk 1.4):
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.jar.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.awt.image.*;
    import javax.imageio.*;
    public class ImageUtilities {
         public static Image getImage(String jarFileName, String fileName) {
              BufferedImage image = null;
              try {
                   JarFile jar = new JarFile(new File(jarFileName), false, JarFile.OPEN_READ);
                   JarEntry entry = jar.getJarEntry(fileName);
                   BufferedInputStream stream = new BufferedInputStream(jar.getInputStream(entry));
                   image = ImageIO.read(stream) ;
              catch (Exception ex) {
                   System.out.println(ex);
              return(image);
    }I hope this helps,
    Denis

  • Acquire Images from webcam in LabVIEW 8.5

    I've been working with Labview for week now and have done several
    online tutorials and things like that. I need to be able to record an
    image from a webcam into Labview. I've found numerous discussions on
    the topic but none that contain any solid examples. I have Labview 8.5
    with the NI-IMAQ drivers and NI Vision.
    What
    are the basic steps that need to be done to aquire an image from a
    webcam and display it on a front panel? Any example VI's or detailed
    descriptions would be more than welcome. Please understand that I have
    just started working with LabView so some concepts like device drivers

    Hi CanadianKyle,
    I've been working with Labview for few months now and have done several online tutorials and things like that.
    but i can not tell you exactly that Vision requirement is must or not?......
    But I Think there is no other way to use this without Vision 7.1 or Higher.
    U will get Vision with evaluation version on Ni.com.

  • Read images from a jar file?

    Hello, I'm converting a 6i app to 10g. This app does a ton of read_image_file() calls to
    change GIF images on the screen based on user actions. In 6i the images are all stored on the local hard drive. The images are not icons for buttons, but images that appear in different locations on the screen.
    For 10g, is it possible to leave the images in a jar file and effectively read the images from that? Otherwise, I suppose I'm looking at using webutil functionality to download the jar file and unjar it into an images directory for reading from the client?
    Any best-practice scenario for this sort of thing?
    Thanks for any info,
    Gary

    We are migrating from 6i to 10g too. And I try to not use webutil. All my pictures (icons gif files) are in a jar file.
    Just make attention of the size of your pictures. The jar file is loaded when you launch the application (the first time, and after, only if the jar file has changed).

  • Generating full-size image from thumbnail using BLOB DB images

    Hi all,
    Assuming that all necessary steps were taken in other posts and tutorials to display images on a web page from BLOB objects stored in an Oracle 10g DB, how is it possible to set the size of the created images (from the servlet that creates the image file from BLOB) so that it is smaller than the actual image in the DB. the user would then have to click the image to open the full image.
    would this be done by possibly creating 2 servlets, one that displays a smaller version, and one that displays the actual image?
    i don't see how this can be done since the url property of each image is bound to the url of the servlet. If the thumbnail has a url pointing to image produced by thumbnail servlet, would i assign an action handler for clicking the image that redirects to a url given by the full size image servlet? or should i use an image hyperlink instead?
    any help is always appreciated!

    Suggest you take this one step at a time.
    1. Create a database and store your images in it. (Or write the upload mechanism if you need it).
    2. Display your full size images.
    3. Display your full size images as thumbnail size. (Performance will not be good but you'll have results.) Creator allows you to set image size independantly of the size of the underlying image.
    4. Modify the servlet you wrote in step three to optionally reduce the resolution (or quality) based on an input parameter.
