Read image to xml
hi
iam trying to read data from tables SXMSCLUP and SXMSCLUR.In these tables which fields contain the payload.in our database the clustd field is of type image.how to convert that to xml message.
thanks
sudha
Hi Ratna,
Could you please explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish? I doubt reading the tables directly is a good idea. A comprehensive ABAP-OO API is used internally in XI and probably has the required entry-points for whatever you need. Unfortunately, it is undocumented, so you'll have to analyse the related standard transactions and/or reports to determine how to use it.

Hi All,
Question: Can we read image meta data from CS extension code by any way ?
I tried it with xmp core library and passed a jpeg file to xmpMeta object which expect a String, a XML or Byte Array as argument:
private function getImageMetadata(jpeg:File):void
var meta:XMPMeta = new XMPMeta(jpeg);
var packet:XML = meta.serializeToXML();
var photoshop:Namespace = XMPConst.photoshop;
var value:String = meta.photoshop::AuthorsPosition;
If I was able to convert jpeg file to Byte Array, I my guess to be work but I'm not able to find it workable.
Can someone help me to complete the task?
Thanks

Currently we are using 6i reports to generate XML output, which in turn is passed to XML publisher to generate documents.
I am trying to access a blob image from DB in 6i reports. How Can I pass this image to XML publisher.
Basically my doubt is:
How do I incorporate BLOB image from database into XML Publisher? What are the different approaches available?Hey David, well, this isn't the unique solution for displaying images in XMLP. The other alternative (wich is my plan b) is to have this images in a path in the server. So, you can bring the name of your image (maybe, a signature) from the database; I have test that and works very well.
I'm trying to use an URL because the signatures are stored as BLOBs in the db and I was trying to re-create the file in the server, but it became a little complicated. So, in my case, I just have to resolve any of this issues and I'ld have my images in the reports. -
How to retreive images and xml stored in temporary internet files
hi all,
I am creating an air application that has to work in offline too.so i have decided to retrieve datas it from temporary internet files(is it a rightway or anyother way to do that if so pls suggest). I have an issues of retreiving images and xml stored in the temporary internet files of the user system ..can anybody help me and give solution for this..
regards,
Divya.What software are you using to create the website? Perhaps there is some command you can implement on the website to force the entire file to be downloaded. If you use Dreamweaver, you might ask in that forum. If you make the link an ftp link rather than a http link, you might guarantee that the file will be downloaded in its entirety, but the download location will not necessarily be in a temp folder.

Insert link over an image in XML
Hello,
I recently bought this template: http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/27466.html but I have a big problem. I want to add a hyperlink over the big images which appears when you click on bedrooms for example. There are 9 small images in the right side and 1 big image on the left. I changed all the images but I want also to add hyperlinks on some big images. The action script import an xml file like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<root>
<pageGallery nameGallery="GALLERY 1" name="gallery1" folder="gallery" line="3" maxImages="9">
<titleImages>
<smallImages>_gallery_small_images_1.jpg</smallImages>

Hi All,
Hope I'm not spamming this thread to your mailbox as I felt this question asked in unrelated forum.
Question: Can we read image meta data from Flex ?
I tried it with xmp core library and passed a jpeg file to xmpMeta object :
private function getImageMetadata(jpeg:File):void
var meta:XMPMeta = new XMPMeta(jpeg);
var packet:XML = meta.serializeToXML();
var photoshop:Namespace = XMPConst.photoshop;
var value:String = meta.photoshop::AuthorsPosition;
trace(value); // returns null, not sure why
Can any one help me to get the image metadata.
Thanks in advance
MacI've got some content related to my issue from net but still it won't solve my problem
private function init():void {
var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, imgLoaded);
var s:String = "my/jpgPath/myjpgName.jpg";
ldr.load(new URLRequest(s));
private function imgLoaded(e:Event):void{
var info:LoaderInfo = e.target as LoaderInfo;
var xmpXML:XML = getXMP(info.bytes);
//trace(xmpXML);
var meta:XMPMeta = new XMPMeta(xmpXML);
//var packet:XML = meta.serializeToXML();
var photoshop:Namespace = XMPConst.photoshop
trace(meta.photoshop::AuthorsPosition);
private function trim(s:String):String{
return s.replace( /^([\s|\t|\n]+)?(.*)([\s|\t|\n]+)?$/gm, "$2" );
private function getXMP(ba:ByteArray):XML{
var LP:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
var PACKET:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
var l:int;
ba.readBytes(LP, 2, 2);
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/xmp.html
read part 3: Storage in Files.
that will explain the -2 -29 and other things you see here.
l = LP.readInt() - 2 -29;
ba.readBytes(PACKET, 33, l);
var p:String = trim(encode(PACKET) as String);
var i:int = p.search('<x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/"');
/* Delete all in front of the XMP XML */
p = p.substr(i);
For some reason this left some rubbish in front, so I'll hardcode it out for now
TODO clean up
var ar:Array = p.split('<');
var s:String = "";
var q:int;
var j:int = ar.length;
for(q=1;q<j;q++){
s += '<'+ar[q];
i = s.search('</x:xmpmeta>');
i += ('</x:xmpmeta>').length;
s = s.slice(0,i);
/* Delete all behind the XMP XML */
return XML(s);
private static function encode(ba:ByteArray):String {
var origPos:uint = ba.position;
var result:Array = new Array();
for (ba.position = 0; ba.position < ba.length - 1; )
result.push(ba.readShort());
if (ba.position != ba.length)
result.push(ba.readByte() << 8);
ba.position = origPos;
return String.fromCharCode.apply(null, result);
It seems there is a bug in XMPMeta class where it always throws an exception "The XMPMeta object cannot have qualifiers", Even created with default (no param).
Does anyone have any clue on this? please help
Thanks

How do i load an image through XML?
Hi.
My code is below. What I am trying is to dinamically load images from xml. I attach the holder from the library, and when i try to target it and addChild to him i get an error:
var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
var xmlData:XML = new XML();
xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML);
xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("links.xml"));
var xmlLength:int;
var iconPos:Number = 0;
function LoadXML(e:Event):void {
xmlData = new XML(e.target.data);
var xmlLength = xmlData.link.length();
for (var i=0; i<xmlLength; i++) {
var d:MovieClip = new icon();
content_mc.addChild(d);
d.name = "d"+i;
var target:DisplayObject = content_mc.getChildByName("d"+i);
var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
ldr.load(new URLRequest(xmlData.link[i].icon));
target.addChild(ldr);
How can i make this happen and load the image into it's holder?

Hi,
I do have a requirement to print digital signature in a Quote, the signature is been stored as a picture (longraw datatype per_images table) in HRMS Tables
HRMS Responsibility -> people -> Enter and Maintain -> Picture, here we will upload the signature of a person and this need be printed in XML Report.
In the Report Builder if we change the ‘file format’ to ‘Image’ we are able to display the image , but when we are register in APPS, we not able to get the image, even XML tags are not been generated.

Crystal Report that reads from an XML file Datetime or Date
I have a Crystal Report 2008 that reads from an XML file, the source File XML Date data looks like this: 2008-03-10
But the Crystal Report interpreted by datatime, I need the Crystal Report to look like this: 2008/03/10 (date) not 2008-03-10T00:00:00-05:00 (datatime)
Look at an example (source file xml, report, and parameter file to execute report) at url: http://www.5websoft.com/sample.zip
Import the file in the design and will to verify that interpret incorrectly the fields of type date as datetime
not mapped currently for fields..
Help.....
Thanks!You could always reformat the field to only display the date portion:
Format Field > Date and Time tab; choose the date style you need here.

Write/read image to avi file, VI works incorrectly from the second run
Hi everybody, in my labview I write image from IMAQ USB to avi file and read image from avi file, the VI runs correctly at the first run then after that it goes wrong, I can write/read only one frame and it terminates automatically. Does anybody know why and how to solve this?
Thanks a lot,
HannahWithout seeing your code I can't comment specifically, but if it runs correctly the first time and then stops be looking for something that is not getting reinitialized correctly. Also what exactly do you have to do to get it to work again? Close and reopen the VI? Restart LV? Restart the computer?

l_return := l_xmltype_out.extract('//GetFieldsName/text()').getstringVal();

Cannot read image file in oracle 10g forms, getting error frm-47100
I'm unable to read the image from the file location. But If I do re-save via MS-Paint the same image then I'm able to load successfully. I want to load image directly instead of re-save. Error getting like "frm-47100 Cannot read image file".

Reading data From XML file and setting into ViewObject to Pouplate ADF UI
Hi,
I have following requirement.
I would like to read data from XML file and populate the data in ViewObject so that the data can be displayed in the ADF UI.
Also when user modifies the data in the ADF UI, it should be modified back into to ViewObject.
Here is an example - XML file contains Book Title and Author. I would like to read Book Title and Author from XML file and set it into ViewObject Attribute and then display Book title and Author in ADF UI page. Also when user modifies Book title and Author, I would like to store it back in View Object.
Please help me with this requirement and let me know if any solution exist in ADF, for populating the ADF UI screen fields with external XML file data.
