Read Key (Multiple Lines) Help

Hello! Is it possible to read multiple lines using read key VI? I'm only reading the first line right now but it would be nice if I can view the first line's explanations too.
Please see attach. Thanks in advance.

Get inside the Read Key.vi. There you will find Get Key.vi. Get inside this vi. It has two outputs (excluding some others) - value and comment. But the vi itself returns only the value and the comment is left unused. Please check if that "comment" output is the "explanations" you need. If so, you could manually wire that output for your benefit.
Remember to save the vi with a different name if you will edit it.

While evaluating my code please have in mind that I am a LV novice. Therefore sometimes my code might violate some coding rules that I have to learn about myself. But how else could I do that...

  • BDC for F - 43, Multiple posting keys,multiple line items

    Dear gurus,
                     I need to develop a bdc for  F-43, it it working for multiple posting keys with two line items, but not working for multiple line items, can you tell me where to loop the line items.
    regards,
    vidyasagar yadav.

    F-43 is actually FB01 (with two parameters, check it with SE93).
    So you could use the following FMs in sequence to build the BDC :
    POSTING_INTERFACE_START
    POSTING_INTERFACE_DOCUMENT
    POSTING_INTERFACE_END
    Else
    Re-execute transaction SHDB for a document with 2 items and for a document with a dozen items and analyze the result.
    Use a BAPI like BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST or BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST
    Regards,
    Raymond

  • Read-Host Multiple lines

    Hi,
     I am writing a script which waits for user input initially, actually i want user to enter multiple emailids through read-host and i want to save that in a file in specific location. Below is the code
    read-host " Enter the email ids to which you want to send alerts" > C:\mydrive\tomail.txt
    $lines=(Get-Content C:mydrive\tomail.txt)
    $newcontent = foreach ($line in $lines) { $line.Trim()}
    $newcontent | out-file C:mydrive\tomail.txt
    What i am doing here is , i am getting the emailds and trimming it and storing in a file.
    When i execute the above script in ISE , i can use Shift enter to enter multiple email ids, however when i run the script in powershell console it doesnt work, any ideas?

    If you want something a little bit more fun:
    add-type -assembly System.Windows.Forms
    $form=New-Object System.Windows.Forms.Form
    $form.StartPosition='CenterScreen'
    $btn=New-Object System.Windows.Forms.Button
    $btn.Text='Save'
    $btn.DialogResult='Ok'
    $btn.Dock='bottom'
    $form.Controls.Add($btn)
    $btnCancel=New-Object System.Windows.Forms.Button
    $btnCAncel.Text='Cancel'
    $btnCancel.DialogResult='Cancel'
    $btnCancel.Dock='bottom'
    $form.Controls.Add($btnCancel)
    $tb=New-Object System.Windows.Forms.Textbox
    $tb.Multiline=$true
    $tb.Dock='Fill'
    $form.Controls.Add($tb)
    $form.add_load({$tb.Select()})
    if($form.ShowDialog() -eq 'Ok'){
    $tb.lines
    }else{
    Write-Host 'Cancelled' -fore red
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • How to do the multiple-line String at JList? help!

    i need some code to multiple-line String at JList.
    i know that it is can be done by html code.
    example:
    <p>line1</p><p>line2</p>
    but if i use that html code...
    i face another problem to my JList..
    it cannot set the font use the ListCellRenderer..
    like:
    public Component getListCellRendererComponent(
    JList list,
    Object value,
    int index,
    boolean isSelected,
    boolean cellHasFocus)
    Color newColor = new Color(230, 230, 230);
    setIcon(((DisplayItem)value).getIcon());
    setText(((DisplayItem)value).getChat());
    setFont(((DisplayItem)value).getFont());
    setBackground(isSelected ? newColor : Color.white);
    setForeground(isSelected ? Color.black : Color.black);
    if (isSelected) {
    setBorder(
    BorderFactory.createLineBorder(
    Color.red, 2));
    } else {
    setBorder(
    BorderFactory.createLineBorder(
    list.getBackground(), 2));
    return this;
    all my JList will be html type...
    i don't want that happen..can be another method to do that multiple-line String in JList??
    i also need to set a icon image between string in the JList. anyone get idea??
    i need ur help!
    thank you.

    I think you should create/override several methods like setText(String), setIcons(Icon[]), paintComponent(Graphics), getMinimumSize(), getPreferredSize(), etc.
    I would like to code like below...:class MultilineLabel extends JLabel {
        private String[] text = null;
        private ImageIcon[] icons = null;
        public void setText( String newText ) {
            // It overrides JLabel.setText( String )
            // Tokenize newText with line-separator
            // and put each text into the 'text' array.
        public void setIcons( Icon[] newIcon ) {
            // It is similar to JLabel.setIcon( Icon ) method,
            // but it receives an array of Icon-s. Set these icons to 'icons' variable.
        public void paintComponent( Graphics g ) {
            // It overrides JComponent.paintComponent( Graphics ) method.
            super.paintComponent( g );
            if ( text != null && icons != null ) {
                int icon_x = 0;
                int text_x = 0;
                int y = 0;
                // draw customized content..
                for ( int i=0; i<text.length; i++ ) {
                    // compute x and y locations
                    // icon_x = ...
                    // text_x = ...
                    // y = ...
                    // and draw it!
                    g.drawString( text[ i ], text_x, y );
                    icon[ i ].paintIcon( this, g, icon_x, y );
        public Dimension getMinimumSize() {
            int width = super.getMinimumSize().width;
            int height = ... // I think you must compute it with 'text' and 'icons'' arrays.
            return new Dimension( width, height );
        public Dimension getPreferredSize() {
            int width = super.getPreferredSize().width;
            int height = ...
            return new Dimension( width, height );
    }I think that code-structure above is the minimum to implement your requirements. (Of course if you want to implement it :)
    Good luck and let me know it works or not. :)

  • StringTokenizer to read multiple lines

    I've been struggling to make my program to read multiple lines from the input text
    input5.txt:
    -.1 -2.3 -45.678 -90
    .1 .23 .45678 .90
    1 2.3 4.56
    0
    and the program will stop reading when it sees 0 in the line. What i got was a nullPointerException, it reads a single line fine, but when it comes to multiple lines, it messes up. Heres a portion of my program code:
    while (info1 != null && !end)
         tokenizer = new StringTokenizer(info1, " \t\r\n");
         while ((info1 = stdin.readLine()) != null && info1.length() != 0)
              if (tokenizer.hasMoreTokens())
                   // temp is a dummy String to help for counting limit.
                   temp = tokenizer.nextToken();
                   dummy [limit] = temp;
                   limit++;
         numbers = new float [limit];
         while (count < limit)
              while (tokenizer2.hasMoreTokens() && num1 != 0.0 && num1 != 0)
                   num1 = Float.parseFloat(dummy[count]);
                   numbers[count] = num1;
                   count++;
         end = true;
    }

    You need to move the "new StringTokenizer" into the following while loop

    if VBKD-BSTKD_E = 3011192 is like 4 records in excel means for these 4 should be one SO

    If u want to add Items data, u have to handle the Table control by writing the complete code.
    U have to write code for 2 items, when u press enter u will get new row to enter new record one by one.

  • Reading Multiple lines in a file Using File Adapter

    Hi All,
    Iam new to this technology.How to read multiple lines in a file using file adapter.Brief me with the methodology.

    I didn't look at anything else but if you want to write more than one line ever to your file you should change this
    out = new FileOutputStream("Calculation.log");to this...
    out = new FileOutputStream("Calculation.log",true);A quick look at the API reveals the follow constructor FileOutputStream(File file, boolean append) append means should I add on the end of the file or over-write what is there.
    By default you over-write. So in our case we say true instead which says add on to what is there.
    At the end of that little snippet you shoudl be closing that stream as well.
    So where you have
    p.close();You should have
    p.close();
    out.close();

    How to read multiple lines in the following dynamic subroutine ?
    I am able to read single value through p_selfld.
    Nut the requirement is to change the values in more than 1 row for a fld (edit mode)
    FORM USER_COMMAND USING P_UCOMM TYPE SY-UCOMM
    P_SELFLD TYPE SLIS_SELFIELD.
    endform
    Thanks in advance

    You can get the reference by a dirty assign, but this is not offcially supported...
    But if you have some limitations.
    FORM user_command  USING fuw_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                                       fuw_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <lfs_grid>  type ref to cl_gui_alv_grid,
                                   <lfs_row> type LVC_S_ROW.
      data: li_rows type lvc_t_row.
          assign ('(SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN)GT_GRID-GRID') to <lfs_grid>.
          check sy-subrc is initial.
          call method <lfs_grid>->get_selected_rows
            IMPORTING
              et_index_rows = li_rows.
    endform.                    "user_command

  • How to read multiple lines from a command prompt?

    I usually read from a command prompt like this:
    String answer;
    System.out.println("Please enter the required data");
    try {
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    answer = reader.readLine();
    reader = null;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("There was an exception trying to read " + e);
    answer = "";
    This has worked fine for years when all I wanted was one line answers.
    Now I am trying to prompt for multiple line answers. Is there a way to read into a string array rather than just a string? What class would I use for that?
    Thanks a lot!

    The easiest approaches would be to read a line at a time until you've read enough lines, whether by a known fixed line count, or a token count, or by reading some sentinel toek, OR read a token at a time using Scanner.next() until you've determined you're done. Which one is more appropriate depends on your situation.

  • I can't get adobe reader x to copy a column with the alt key, can someone help me.

    I can't get adobe reader x to copy a column with the alt key, can someone help me.

    Hello Pat,
    Thank you for getting back to me.  I have a table with columns in it and I’m trying to copy just one of the columns, think of it as a stock table you would get in a newspaper and I just want to copy the column that has all the symbols in it.  I use to be able to do this with no problem in previous versions of Adobe Reader by just putting my cursor next to the column I wanted, holding down the Alt key and selecting the data I wanted .  But with the new version that came with my new laptop running Window 8.0 I can not  accomplish this task.  Adobe Reader wants to copy everything in the table.  I would take a screen shot to show you, but when I open Reader, it takes over my entire screen and I can not get back to my task bar or desktop without closing the app.  If you could also tell me how to correct or adjust this annoyance I would appreciate it.   Needless to say I’m not currently a big fan of the new version of Reader.  Is there any way I can go back to a previous version of the product with Windows 8 as my OS?
    Thanks you for your help with this,
    Ed

  • HELP:multiple lines

    How do we include multiple lines in jlabelsin netbeans?

    Its only been 4 minutes since I posted my answer.
    There is no way you read and understood the tutorial in that time and then try to figure out how to apply the knowledge in NetBeans.
    This is not a NetBeans forum. Learn the Java basics first. Once you understand the Java basics you should be able to figure out how to do it in NetBeans.

  • Can't write to multiple lines to file...please help

    Hi all ,
    The following is trying to write to message receive from UDP packets. The problems is data_output can only write a single line of message to the file "serverlog.txt". How can write multiple line of message to the file?
         private void processUDPPackets(SelectionKey selectionKey){
              DatagramChannel datagramChannel = (DatagramChannel) selectionKey.channel();
              try{
                   file_output = new FileOutputStream("serverlog.txt");
                   data_output = new DataOutputStream(file_output);
                   while(datagramChannel.receive(byteBuf) != null) {
                        byteBuf.flip();
                        charBuf = decoder.decode(byteBuf);
                        data_output.writeChars(charBuf.toString());
                        data_output.writeChars("\n");
                        byteBuf.clear();
                   charBuf.clear();
              }catch(IOException e){
                   selectionKey.cancel();
                   System.out.println("Logout:: Server port:" + datagramChannel.socket().getLocalPort() +
                                            ". Client: " + datagramChannel.socket().getInetAddress() + " / " +
                                            datagramChannel.socket().getPort());
         }

    Hi,
    Instead of data_output.writeChars("\n");, do data_output.writeChars(System.getProperty("line.separator"));Rgds,
    Andre'

  • How to read the last line in a text file using text_io?? please help

    Dear all
    I made a procedure that append text into a text file on the operating system.
    the text file grows rapidly. It contains now about 200,000 line . I need to read the last line only . In other wprds i need to go direct to the last line to read some values. Is it possible??
    Please help

    Hello,
    If you know the number of the line you want to read, I can sugget you to use the MORE dos command or the TAIL unix command that redirect to a temporary text file
    Example to create a file that contains the 200010th last lines :
    (Client)Host( 'MORE the_file_name.txt +200010 > small_file.txt') ;So you have only to read the small file with the TEXT_IO functions.

  • Need help, reading next file line

    i have a file that i am reading using this code, this code reads only string on the first line
    i wnat it to read the second line from the file when the method is called again
    private transactionLine="";
    public void fileReading()
    try
              try
                   FileInputStream finstr = new FileInputStream(userFile);
              BufferedInputStream bfinstr = new BufferedInputStream(finstr);
              DataInputStream dainsstr = new DataInputStream(bfinstr);
                             transactionLine = dainsstr.readLine();     //holds the transaction line
                             System.out.println(transactionLine);
              catch(FileNotFoundException fnf)
                   System.out.println("File not found");
                   userFile=userInput();
                   fileReading();
                   catch(IOException ioe)
                        System.out.println("io exception at point 1");//point 1

    How big is your file ?
    If it's small file, you can just create a static counter that reads the lines (again and again).
    Else if its a little bigger file, you might want to put it in a vector (once read, always there).
    If its a very large file, then you might work with RandomAccessFile, and you'll have to know how the file is structered.
    ReadFile and ReadFile2 are 2 examples of read the lines, or place in vector.
    good luck!
