    - Export to XML(?)
    Sample; vbnet_win_export.zip at [this|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsfor.NETSDK+Samples] link.

    Above will apply to your version of CR and .NET also.

    - Not from SAP. Perhaps some 3rd party software(?).

  • Read data from Excel and write into oracle database

    Hi
    I want  to know how can i read data from excel and write into oracle database using java.Kindly help me out to find a solution.
    Thanks and Regards
    Neeta

    Hai,
    I am suggesting the solution.
    I will try out and let u know soon.
    Make a coma separated file from your excel file.
    Assuming that your requirement allows to make a csv file.
    This file may be passed as an file object to be read by java.Using JDBC you must be able to populate the data base.You can also use String Tokenizer if needed.
    You do not want to  go via sql Loader?
    For reading the excel file itself do you want java?

  • Read PDF Formatted Spool and write PDF File to Application Server

    Hi Experts,
    After ECC 6.0, HR-W2 and W2C Form Spools are getting generated in PDF format.
    We have a requirement wherein we want to read the PDF Spool Programatically and write the PDF file to Application server (Using OPEN DATASET and CLOSE DATASET)
    PARAMETERS : p_spono LIKE tsp01-rqident.
    DATA: pdf_data type FPCONTENT.
    types: lt_pdf_table(1000) type x.
    data:  l_pdf_data type standard table of lt_pdf_table,
           l_pdf_line type lt_pdf_table,
           l_offset type i,
           l_len type i,
           p_file(100) VALUE '\sapout\DVH\pdf2.pdf'.
    *Read the spool content

        OTHERS = 5.
    * Modify the spool  contents to prepare internal table
      l_len = xstrlen( pdf_data ).
      while l_len >= 1000.
        l_pdf_line = pdf_data+l_offset(1000).
        append l_pdf_line to l_pdf_data.
        add 1000 to l_offset.
        subtract 1000 from l_len.
      endwhile.
      if l_len > 0.
        l_pdf_line = pdf_data+l_offset(l_len).
        append l_pdf_line to l_pdf_data.
      endif.
    * GUI DOWNLOAD Works Fine
    * Now pdf contents is ready , lets store in local PC
    *CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'

      TRANSFER l_pdf_line TO p_file.
    ENDLOOP.
    CLOSE DATASET p_file.

      MESSAGE ID '00' TYPE 'E' NUMBER '398' WITH 'sy-subrc:' sy-subrc
              ' Error closing file:'(Z04) p_file.
    ENDIF.
    Currently as you can see I have commented out GUI_DOWNLOAD Function Module, But it works perfect when I try to Download file to Local Desktop.
    But when I try to pass the same Contents to Application server file and then try to open it by downloading file then it opens BLANK pdf file.
    As per requirements I should be able to write the file correctly on Application server and If I dowload it from there it should open PDF file correctly.
    Let me know if you require further details about the issue.

  • How to read the data file and write into the same file without a temp table

    Hi,
    I have a requirement as below:
    We are running lockbox process for several business, but for a few businesses we have requirement where in we receive a flat file in different format other than how the transmission format is defined.
    This is a 10.7 to 11.10 migration. In 10.7 the users are using a custom table into which they are first loading the raw data and writing a pl/sql validation on that and loading it into a new flat file and then running the lockbox process.
    But in 11.10 we want to restrict using temp table how can we achieve this.
    Can we read the file first and then do validations accordingly and then write to the same file and process the lockbox.
    Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshmi Kalyan Vara Prasad.

    Hello Gurus,
    Let me tell you about my requirement clearly with an example.
    Problem:
    i am receiving a dat file from bank in below format
    105A371273020563007 07030415509174REF3178503 001367423860020015E129045
    in this detail 1 record starting from 38th character to next 15 characters is merchant reference number
    REF3178503 --- REF denotes it as Sales Order
    ACC denotes it as Customer No
    INV denotes it as Transaction Number
    based on this 15 characters......my validation comes.
    If i see REF i need to pick that complete record and then fill that record with the SO details as per my system and then submit the file for lockbox processing.
    In 10.7 they created a temporary table into which they are loading the data using a control file....once the data is loaded into the temporary table then they are doing a validation and updating the record exactly as required and then creating one another file and then submitting the file for lockbox processing.
    Where as in 11.10 they want to bypass these temporary tables and writing it into a different file.
    Can this be handled by writing a pl/sql procedure ??
    My findings:
    May be i am wrong.......but i think .......if we first get the data into ar_payments_interface_all table and then do the validations and then complete the lockbox process may help.
    Any suggestions from Oracle GURUS is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Lakshmi Kalyan Vara Prasad.

  • Read from Oracle DB and Write to MySQL

    Hi All,
    I am fairly new to database administration, so please bear with me if this is something that is simple or not achievable at all -
    SetUp:
    I have an Oracle DB on one dedicated Server, to which I only have a read_only access.
    I have a MySQL database setup on a windows server 2008, both are on the company network and accessible to internal employees only.
    Problem Statement:
    I need to read certain tables from Oracle DB and push the records to MySQL database.
    I have a stored procedure which was doing this but from one Oracle Schema to another, which is running fine, now I need to use the same stored procedure but read from one database (Oracle) and write to another database (MySQL), is there a way to do this through the stored procedure, I know I can write a java program to do this, but need to do it through a stored procedure.
    Appreciate any help in this regards.

    how to go about it?
    Thanks for your reply in advance

    If you want to copy files as fast as possible, without processing them (as the DOS "copy" or the Unix "cp" command), you can try the java.nio.channels package.
    import java.nio.*;
    import java.nio.channels.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.text.*;
    class Kopy {
         * @param args [0] = source filename
         *        args [1] = destination filename
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            if (args.length != 2) {
                System.err.println ("Syntax: java -cp . Kopy source destination");
                System.exit(1);
            File in = new File(args[0]);
            long fileLength = in.length();
            long t = System.currentTimeMillis();
            FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream (in);
            FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream (args[1]);
            FileChannel fci = fis.getChannel();
            FileChannel fco = fos.getChannel();
            fco.transferFrom(fci, 0, fileLength);
            fis.close();
            fos.close();
            t = System.currentTimeMillis() - t;
            NumberFormat nf = new DecimalFormat("#,##0.00");
            System.out.print (nf.format(fileLength/1024.0) + "kB copied");
            if (t > 0) {
                System.out.println (" in " + t + "ms: " + nf.format(fileLength / 1.024 / t) + " kB/s");
    }

  • Re: want to read in from file and write to components like textfield

    I have a file that has been written using PrintWriter
    The file is written with only the escape character '\t'
    formating and not '\n'
    here is 'file.txt':
    s a     Alan     Credit Account     333333     55555     3     March     1972     20000.0     mmilo
    I now want to read this and write to various components eg. Textfield
    textfield.setText(readinText);
    The file is written with these commands:
    myprint.print(initials);
    myprint.print('\t');
    myprint.print(surname);
    myprint.print('\t');
    so basicly initials '\t' surname '\t' card type '\t' etc
    How can I read this file and write to the components?
    I am thinking of using BufferedReader
    is this o.k?
    String str;
    try
    { BufferedReader myinp;
    myinp = new BufferedReader( new FileReader("file.txt"));
    while ((str = myinp.readLine()) !=null)
    { //this is where I need help, given that i have
    // just read in a line how can I seperate it
    // i.e initials, surname, card type etc?
    // please help
    myinp.close();
    catch(IOException e)
    { System.err.println("Exception: " + e.getMessage());
    System.exit(1);
    }

    Hi,
    1. read in the whole file in a string
    2. then do the following - lets say s is your readin string
    StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(s,"\t");
    the StringTokenizer separates that automatically for you - every call to st.nextToken() returns a string with one "value", the "\t" is not returned. Let's say you have 4 JTextFields called tf1 to tf4 and you want to fill in the 4 values from the StringTokenizer
    tf1.setText(st.nextToken());
    tf2.setText(st.nextToken());
    tf3.setText(st.nextToken());
    tf4.setText(st.nextToken());
    how many values are readable by nextToken()-calls are returned by st.getTokenCount() and you can ask if there are more to read by st.hasMoreTokens() which return a boolean.
    greetings Marsian

  • Read blob 's data and write them to a table

    I've managed at last to upload a blob to a table database (thanks to KUBA's)
    Now I want to retrieve the blob from the database table , read it's contents and insert them to a new table. I want to do this after the upload process finishes...
    the blob is always a txt file similar to this
    GR;Greece
    CY;Cyprus
    Because I am a bit lost any guidelines would be very helpfull
    thanks

    Hi user571628. A couple of days ago I was working on the same thing, I couldn't finish the app. 'cause I was assigned to do other web app., I used the same example as you to upload the image to the DB and someone called "gnewtonaus" came up with what appears to be an excellent idea to do it, you have to use something called PL/SQL web toolkit (I have never used it and don't know how it works)... but this is what you have to do:
    You've already solved the upload part so to download the BLOB (say an image in his example) you can use a simple PL/SQL stored procedure like the one below
    E.g to display an image (from the DB) on an HTML page you just use
    <!--
    <img src="http://your_base_url:your_port/dad_name/package.display_photo?i_person_id=1234">
    -->
    -- Display a photo from the database
    procedure display_photo(i_person_id in varchar2) is
    v_blob blob;
    begin
    -- retrieve blob from database
    select image into v_blob from pho_photos where person_id = i_person_id;
    -- set http headers
    owa_util.mime_header('image/jpeg', FALSE);
    htp.p('Content-Length: ' || dbms_lob.getlength(v_blob));
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    -- initiate direct BLOB download
    wpg_docload.download_file(v_blob);
    exception
    when others then
    htp.p(to_char(sqlcode)||' - '||sqlerrm) ;
    end; -- display_photo

    I have to return some set of columns values(based on current date) from the database (could be million of record also) The dbms_output can accomodate only 20000 records. (I am retrieving thru a procedure using cursor).
    I should write these values to a file with extn .csv (comma separated file) I thought of using a utl_file. But I heard there is some restriction on the number of records even in utl_file.
    If so, what is the restriction. Is there any other way I can achive it? (BLOB or CLOB ??).
    Please help me in solving this problem.
    I have to write to .csv file, the values from the cursor I have concatinated with "," and now its returning the value to the screen (using dbms_output, temporarily) I have to redirect the output to .csv
    and the .csv should be in some physical directory and I have to upload(ftp) the file from the directory to the website.
    Please help me out.

    Jimmy,
    Make sure that utl_file is properly installed, make sure that the utl_file_dir parameter is set in the init.ora file and that the database has been re-started so that it will take effect, make sure that you have sufficient privileges granted directly, not through roles, including privileges to the file and directory that you are trying to write to, add the exception block below to your procedure to narrow down the source of the exception, then test again. If you still get an error, please post a cut and paste of the exact code that you run and any messages that you received.

  • How to Read from two file and write to another file --Please help !!

    Hi all,
    Please suggest me where i'm goin goin wrng.
    I have 2 flat files. one of them is the main file(Ann.dat) has a about 150,000 lines (each line has unique ID from 00001 to 45000) of data and the the other(Miss.dat) has a just a list of IDs that are no longer in use & have to be deleted from the first file(NewAnn.dat). (Note that Ann.dat is a tab delimitted file and Miss.dat is just a list of all invalid IDs)
    Below is my code. It doesn't do what I'm supposed to. Please suggest me or help me with a code to do it. What I'm trying to do is read each of the lines from the 2 files compare the ID in ann.dat with all the IDs in Miss.dat & if it doesn't match with the ID in Miss.dat write the whole line to NewAnn.dat. And do the rest with all the lines in Ann.dat.
    It could be a real dumb question. since i'm not a software professional, I consider myself to be newbie to programming. I desperately need your help.
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class anntemp{
         public static void main(String[] args)
              String keyAnn ="";
              String keyMis="";
              String recAnn =null;
              String recMis =null;
              try{
              FileReader fr=new FileReader("C:\\Tom\\Ann.dat");
              BufferedReader br=new BufferedReader(fr);
              int couter=0;
              while ((recAnn = br.readLine())!=null)
                   couter++;
                   keyAnn = recAnn.substring(0, recAnn.indexOf("\t"));
              FileReader fr1=new FileReader("C:\\Tom\\Miss.dat");
              BufferedReader br1=new BufferedReader(fr1);
              while((recMis = br1.readLine())!=null){
              keyMis = recMis.substring(0, recMis.indexOf("\t"));
                   if(keyAnn.equals(keyMis)){
         FileWriter fw=new FileWriter("C:\\Tom\\NewAnn.dat",true);
         BufferedWriter bw=new BufferedWriter(fw);
         PrintWriter pw=new PrintWriter(bw);
         StringBuffer writeValue = new StringBuffer();
         writeValue.append(recAnn);
                                                 pw.println(writeValue.toString());
         pw.flush();
              }catch (Exception expe){
                   System.out.println("In Exception ");
                   expe.printStackTrace();
    Thank you all in advance,
    br

    I think you need to close the files when you are done in the inner loop. Plus I think you'll be overwritting the file in the inner loop if more than one match. It might be easier to read the unused id file into a map at the start, and then loop up the id's from the master file in the map. You can put the unused id's in as the keys, and a Boolean.TRUE as the value (value won't matter). Then just check if the map contains the key for the id read from the master file. That should cut down on disk activity. This assumes the unused id file is smallish.

  • Read from a file and write back

    Hi,
    I'm trying to read from a text file, and stor into a vector of vectors.
    This part works fine
    then i want to randomly split the vector into 2 different vectors a training set and a test set.
    this part woks fine too.
    now i want to write each of these vectors to a text file........this is the part i'm stuck on.
    some of my code is below:
    public static void main(String[] args)
              Vector Train;
              //Vector Test;
              Split s = new Split();
              Vector data = s.readFile("diabetes.txt");
              Vector Test = s.split(data);
              Train = s.getTrainingVector();
              //Training.txt = s.writeToFile(Training, "Training.txt");
              //Test.txt = s.writeToFile(data, "Test.txt");
              File Training = new File("Training.txt");
              File Testing = new File("Test.txt");
              FileWriter out = new FileWriter(Training);
              for(int i =0; i<Train.size(); i++)
                   out.write(Train.get(i));
                   out.write("\n");
              out.close();
              FileWriter out2 = new FileWriter(Test);
              for(int i =0; i<Test.size(); i++)
                   out2.write(Test.get(i));
                   out2.write("\n");
              out2.close();
         }Can anybody help?
    Cheers

    i've tried that but i'm getting this error:
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : method write (java.lang.Float)
    location: class java.io.FileWriter
    out.write((Float)(InnerVec.get(i)));
    does it have to be Strings?
