Reading multiple records in file adaptor

Hi,
I am trying to read records from one file and write them in another file.
But the thing happened is it ready and write only first record.
I check in the Audit... At receive it reads all three records, but in transform it takes only first record.
I have defined schema in inbound adaptor and used same for outbound.
Where should I make changes to read all the records from the input file.
Thanks,
Krunal

I assume you are using a transform to do the mapping.
The trick here is to use the for-each function on the target mapping when the element repeats.
In the transformation design window right-click on the repeating element, choose the option for-each. This will create a new node just above. Map the source repeating node to the for each element.
Deploy and retest.
cheers

    Hi Exerts,
       i have done scenario to post one record from file to IDOC, to post multiple records from file to idoc what are the options to be modified in the scenario.
    thanks,
    dhanush

    Hi Dhanush,
      You need to change the occurance of idoc to 0 to unbounded ie need to opt idoc packaging.
      Just download the xsd of you idoc to the desktop and change the occurance tag as "<xsd:element name="IDOC" type="COND_A.COND_A02" maxOccurs="unbounded" />" and then reimport it into External definition and use it in your message mapping and then map it with you source structure.

  • Issue in reading multiple time properties file

    Use Case:
    I have a page in which i have to show some Outage Messages on page. So I have configured outage message in properties files. This message should me rendered each time when it finds that properties file in class path or it finds the values w.r.t their keys.
    So what I decide that I shall write java method and call this method on Loading the page but here what happen is that whenever that page is load each time that reader file will call , that will create memory leak .
    So, anyone help me on this. What will be the best approach for that reading multiple times properties file?
    I will be grateful for any help you can provide
    Thanks

    Hi,
    have a bean at applicationScope, somewhat like this
    import java.util.HashMap;
    public class ApplnProperties {
        private HashMap _propMap;
        public HashMap getPropMap() {
            if(_propMap == null){
                //read the properties file and populate _propMap
            return _propMap;
    }here we put condition _propMap == null so it would be called only once during application lifecycle.
    and on page you can refer the prop map like following
    #{beanName.propMap['KEY1']}Regards,

    iam trying to create contracts and Purchase Orders  In me21n,me31k .
    here iam using bdc for contract creation against services and using bapi_po_create for PO Creations.
    in this process i could create contracts and POs for the first record in the file but for second record bapi_po_create couldnt create POs and the return table in bapi says
    1.document contains no items.
    2.no services or limits have been maintained.

    Hi Seeta Ram,
    Did you pass the table PO_ITEM_SCHEDULES to BAPI_PO_CREATE with the coresponding Item numbers for each item in the table PO_ITEMS?

  • Regarding reading multiple records into a single internal table..

    hi experts,
    Need your help, i have a requirement like this.
    i will have a input file like this
    D 123   Suresh    12/01/2008
    E ven   sha         5432
    E ven   sha       5432
    D 153   Sachin    11/01/2008
    E ven   sha      5432
    Now all i need to consider from D to E  (i.e., before next D) as a single record and i need to preare a separate excel,
    So that E records can be max 9. So we cant expect this will be always 2 or 3 or 4.
    So how can i do this upload and process..
    give some idea.
    Thanks,
    Suresh

    Hi,
    Once you transfer the values from input file to internal table.
    loop through all records of internal table .
    check the first letter using offset
    e.g  if Itab-field+0(1)  = 'D'
           elseif  Itab-field+0(1)  = 'E'.
           endif.
         Populate the work area of internal table until you find the next 'D' once you find 'D' again ...append the work area to internal table......clear work area.

  • Reading Multiple lines using File Adapter in PI 7.1

    Hi Friends,
    We are using PI 7.1 Service pack 4, scenario is File to IDOC .
    I am using  Sender File Adapter with File content conversion for fixed lengths to read file from FTP XI-SAP.
       File Format :
      EDI_DC40 , A, B, C, D, E
      E1WPU01, F, G,H, I
      E1WPU02 , J,K,L
      E1WPU02 , J,K,L
    I have maintained Fcc parameters . I am able to read files for mulitple rows when manually set the count in recorset structure
    like :
    Recordset Structure : EDI_DC40,1, E1WPU01,1, E1WPU02,2...
    Problem is when I set * in  Recorset Structure  : EDI_DC40,1, E1WPU01,,E1WPU02,
    Nothing is coming .
    Could anyone help me how to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    As u mentioned in earlier post...
    keyfieldName = TABNAM
    EDI_DC40.fieldNames :
    EDI_DC40. fieldFixedLengths:
    EDI_DC40.keyFieldValue :
    E1WPU01.fieldNames :
    E1WPU01.fieldFixedLengths:
    E1WPU01.keyFieldValue
    E1WPU02.fieldNames :
    E1WPU02.fieldFixedLengths:
    E1WPU02.keyFieldValue
    Here actually you are trying to get the key field value even from EDI_DC40 and E1WPU01 also....
    So obviously u dnt have those values in that rows so.. it cannot get the rows....
    So please u try this one..... The same FCC but remove the 2 lines.... for EDI_DC40 and  E1WPU01
    keyfieldName = TABNAM
    EDI_DC40.fieldNames :
    EDI_DC40. fieldFixedLengths:
    E1WPU01.fieldNames :
    E1WPU01.fieldFixedLengths:
    E1WPU02.fieldNames :
    E1WPU02.fieldFixedLengths:
    E1WPU02.keyFieldValue
    I hope this wil solve ur problem..
    Lemme know if any issues...

  • How to read Multiple sheet Excel file( One of the sheet generated by rule )

    Hi Folks,
    I have one critical requirement about reading an Excelsheet.
    I have an Excelsheet, which has got 2 tabs. Now  TAB1  is having the data stored and TAB2 has got data, which is created by some Rule using in Excelsheet.
    Now when i am trying to pass this Excel sheet to Function module ' TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP'  this Fucntion Module is returning the data from TAB1. But my requirement is that, i have to read data from TAB2, which is generated by implementing some rule on TAB1.
    So Please help, me how can i read the multiple sheet Excel document and how to read the tab , which is generated by some rule.
    Thanks.
    PG

    Hi Guru,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have seen this blog, and treid to implement the code. But when i am caaling method GET_RANGES_DATA
    in the program, it's hanging my whole program and followed by hanging my SAP login.
    I have no clue, why my program is getting hung up, bcoz of this call.
    After debugging this method, i found that the program is getting hung up at call of one function module DP_GET_TABLE.
    This Function Module is internally called by above menthioned method.
    So please let me know, if you have some input on above issue, or if you know some other way to implement this problem.

  • Reading multiple charset based files

    Hi !
    I have a strange tricky problem :-). I have 6 different HTMLs with 6 different character set encodings (ShiftJIS, EUCJP, EUCKR, UTF-8 etc.,). I want to read them and copy over to another directory. I do not know the encoding before hand(there can be any number of files with any encoding). I used the following code but it just "bombs"? Any clue how I should do this?
    -Sanjay
    <pre>
    public class TestWriter {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              try {
                   InputStreamReader fin = new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(args[0]), "Shift-JIS");
                   OutputStreamWriter fout = new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream(args[0]+"_1"), "Shift-JIS");
                   int readIn = fin.read();
                   while (readIn != -1)
                        fout.write(readIn);
                        readIn = fin.read();
                   fout.close();
                   fin.close();
              } catch(Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    </pre>

    My guess is that the file you are reading is not SJIS and causing the program to throw an exception.
    There is no easy way to do this but it is doable with some effort.

  • Pl/Sql for creating Multiple record type file

    Hi all,
    I have a scenario where I need to create a flat file that contains two different record types in the same file. Basically, a way of getting both the header record and the corresponding detail records. Following are the details:
    Table A (Header Records)
    "REC_TYPE" "M_ID" "DATE" "*C_ID*"
    1 123 090807 *222*
    1 345 090907 *333*
    Table B (Detail Records)
    "REC_TYPE" "A_NO" "LINE_NO" "*C_ID*"
    2 7564 1 *222*
    2 4535 2 *222*
    2 4656 1 *333*
    2 6576 2 *333*
    In the output file, the resultset should be as:
    222, 123, 090807 (Header Record)
    *222, 7564, 1* (Detail Record)
    *222, 4535, 2* (Detail Record)

    *333, 4656, 1 (Detail Record)*

    However Invoke_2 is erroring out.

  • Best Practive - One mapping reading multiple source files

    I want to develop a solution for one single mapping reading multiple similar source files that are stored on different directories on my OWB server. I want to be able to determine on runtime of my mapping from what location to load the source file from.
    Example:
    Mapping: Load_test_data
    source file 1: c:\input\loc1\test.dat
    source file 1: c:\input\loc2\test.dat
    When I run the mapping I would like to use an input parameter specifying the location loc1 or loc2. I would also like to use this input parameter in my mapping to populate one column in my target table with the value of this input parameter. This design would make it possible to dynamically load source files from different directories and also being able to see after loading where the data came from.
    Questions:
    - Is there a way to create such a design
    - If not, what alternative would be appropriate.
    Thanks in advance for the feedback

    Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I do not use workflow together with my OWB.
    I now indeed specified the file name and file location in the configuration of my mapping. However I am not able to change then upon executing the mapping. Data file name and file location are empty and greyed out when I execute my mapping. It always takes the values I specified in the configuration of my mapping
    What I would like to do is specify the location upon runtime when I execute my mapping, but I don't know if this is possible. In addition I'd also want to use the data file location as an input parameter for one of the columns I populated in my target table.
    Then in the end I would be able to use one mapping and read multiple sources files from different locations and also be able to check in the end where the data was loaded from.
    Hope you can give me some more feedback on how to set this up in OWB.
    Many Thanks!

  • How to read relevant record type from file into LSMW ?

    Here my req is like this.
    file with 5 records.
    some of records in file are begin with 'AD'.
    i want to read only that records from file while reading data.
    i created one field in source structure with record type filed.
    even i had given this Identifing Field Content:AD
    but after reading data from file its reading all records from file.
    But it should read only record type AB from source file.
    How can we achieve this?
    Thanks in Advance.

    For this do the follwing steps
    goto step 3 Maintain Source Fields
    press the change mode button  after the double click the filed which is pass the AD value
    then it will appier one popup window in this window you have one check box like " selection parameter for import/convert data"
    tick thic chekc box and save it.
    now when you read the data in Step9 , here you find select options there you enter AD* now you will get the only records start with AD.

  • To load multiple records in multiple target tables

    I have to read multiple records as a set from a single source flat file and load into different target tables.
    I have to read 3 records as a set and load into 3 different target tables and read another 3 records as a set and load into previous 3 target tables and it goes on
    till all the records from the flat file are loaded.
    The structure of the file is as follows:
    Header Record
    Line Record
    Distribution Record
    Header Record
    Line Record
    Distribution Record
    Read Header Record and load into target table A
    Read Line Record and load into target table B
    Read Distribution Record and load into target table C
    --- repeat the same steps till all records are read and loaded into target tables.
    I would appreciate if anyone can suggest the best approach of designing interface/package and error conditions to handle ?
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi,
    in this case you must create datastore under a 'Flat file' model
    Create for example 3 datastore with the same ressource (file) but change defintion of column
    Generaly on the first column, define the 'pattern' for each specific format 'variable code'
    You must create 3 interfaces and load your target (databse table for example)

  • Update Multiple records using NW CE WebDyn Pro 7.2 interface ITEMDETAILS

    We are trying to use SAP Netweaver CE 7.2 and NetWeaver Design Studio 7.2 with the Web Dynpro application interfaces configured to connect to our MDM 7.1 SP06 repositories to develop web screens that allow our end users the ability to maintain MDM repository data without the use of DataManager.
         Our first application was to be a simple one to show the business the benefit of SAP Netweaver. Itu2019s very easy to use the interfaces for SEARCH, RESULTSET, ITEMDETAILS, MATCH and MERGE if you plan to maintain one record at a time. We would like to update many records at the same time.
    Using the configuration described previously, I find that I am able to select multiple records at one time using the RESULTSET interface and the Context folder of u201CSelectedRecordsu201D but I am not able to pass multiple records at one time to the context u201CIODatau201D used by the ITEMDETAILS interface and allow my end users to see and update multiple records at one time.
    If I can pass multiple records from RESULTSET to ITEMDETAILS for display and update would you please provide me with an example of how I would do this in NetWeaver Design Studio for NW CE 7.2..
    If I can NOT pass multiple records from RESULTSET to ITEMDETAILS for display and update, Would I then have to write my own wrapper application to read multiple records selected using the RESULTSET interface and the develop my own UPDATE view to display and update more than one record at a time. This would be time consuming since I would also have to write my own back out procedures and validation of update procedures that already happen within ITEMDETAILS.  Do you happen to have any CE application examples that show how this is done for a NW CE MDM repository that I can see? The current documentation u201CHow to Build Web Applications Using MDM Web Dynpro Components. pdfu201D falls short in the area of updating multiple records.
    Thank you in Advance

    Bugs aside, if it's VERY noisy, that might just be the out-of-sync problem (something I'm very familiar with now).
    Search the forum for "aggregate sync" and you should get some clues, if this is indeed the problem.
    Short of it is, you need to sync the two devices together. Easiest way seems to be to connect the two devices via S/PDIF and set Clock Source to S/PDIF for the "slave" device (set in Audio Midi).
    You can also just set the Clock Source as the "master" device in the drop down, bypassing the need for the S/PDIF cable altogether, but I haven't tried this myself.
