    I will very appriciate if someone can help me solve it. I was trying to set Full control for my account in Properties/Security of root folder and try again but error is still.
    Many thanks

    Hi Foreverduy,
    Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
    According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
    Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
    Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
    folder.
    However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
    media
    again and check if the issue still occurs.

    Michelle Li

  • How to store data into database by reading sql statements from text file

    how to write java program for storing data into database by reading sql statements from text file

    Step 1: Create a property file to add various queries.
    Step 2: Read the properties file using ResourceBundle
    Step 3: Use the jdbc to execute the query read from the property file.
    So in future if you need to change query no need do any modifications in java program. But depends on how you use the property file.

  • How can I read a file with ASCII Special Character into a SQL table using SSIS 2008?

    Thank you for your assistance - Covi

    We can use script component as source/transformation to read the text file and assign the contains to a string. Split the string by chr(30)  i.e RS and finally stored into an array or write to the output buffer of the script component.
    For example on how to use script component refer this link

  • Problem in reading Sql server data from text file.

    I am selecting record from sql server 2005 and save the result in text file.
    The text file contains , delimiter.
    I am reading same txt file from java & insert into database.
    But it shows "S and box like characters along with original text.
    Regards
    Joe

    I also tried a lot for this. And didn't want to do copy paste for all .sql files. Finally the files could be read as is the clue is to read the file using UTF-16 format like
    BufferedReader br=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(fis,Charset.forName("UTF-16")));
    I guess it would help and save work to copy paste text to other files and resaving it!

  • SQL Loader reads Data file Sequentially or Randomly?

    Will SQL Loader loads the data read from file Sequentially or Randomly?
    I have the data file like the below
    one
    two
    three
    four
    and my control file is
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    TRUNCATE
    INTO TABLE T TRAILING NULLCOLS
    x RECNUM,
    y POSITION (1:4000)
    so my table will be polulated like
    X Y
    1 one
    2 Two
    3 Three
    4 Four
    Will this happend sequentially even for the large data sets? say i have from one to one million datas in my data files.
    Please clarify.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

    SQL Loader may read the file sequentially, but you should not rely on the physical ordering of the rows in the table.
    It looks like that's what you were hinting at.

  • How does SQL*PLUS read script files

    Hello!
    well, it is possible to start sqlplus with an sql script file:
    sqlplus user/pass@srv @my_script.sqlok, so what happens if I delete the file my_script.sql ?
    My script here is about 1 GB big! sqlplus was half way done when I deleted the file.
    Is the sqlplus going to stop with an error? Or just hang?
    I copied the my_script.sql file now to the folder again and I think that sqlplus is still working fine. But can I be sure, that all statements in the script have been processed?
    Thanks in advance!

    Results are OS dependent which you declined to share with us.
    I suspect *NIX & not Windoze.
    On Windoze, you can not delete open file.
    On *NIX open file does not actually get deleted until fclose() is called.
    All in all, you are OK.

  • Not able to read sql script file in ADF mobile

    hi,
    i am trying to create some DB tables in SQLLite DB (similar to the HR sample app where it creates bunch of DB objects using hr.sql file in .adf/META-INF)..
    but i am getting following error at runtime. i placed the file in .adf/META-INF directory in my application.
    "sqllite returned: error code=14, msg = cannot open file at source...."
    what am i missing here?
    please help.
    regards,
    ad

    This how I have done it.
    This is the start method from my Listener:
      public void start()
          String databaseName = "mydatabase";
          File dbFile = new File(AdfmfJavaUtilities.getDirectoryPathRoot(AdfmfJavaUtilities.ApplicationDirectory)+"/"+databaseName+".db");
          if(!dbFile.exists())
                try {
                    this.initializeDatabase(databaseName);
                } catch (Exception e) {
                    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
      }And this is a custom method also in the listener class
      private static void initializeDatabase(String databaseName) throws Exception
          List stmts = null;
          try {
              ClassLoader cl = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
              InputStream is = cl.getResourceAsStream(".adf/META-INF/"+databaseName+".sql");
              if (is == null) {

  • How to execute a script(.sql) file from a PL\SQL procedure

    I would like to know how to execute a .sql file from a stored procedure and the result of it should update a table. My .sql file contains select statements.

    Hi!
    just go through the following piece of code -
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
      1  declare
      2    str varchar2(200);
      3  begin
      4    str := '@C:\RND\Oracle\Misc\b.sql';
      5    execute immediate(str);
      6* end;
    SQL> /
    declare
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    ORA-06512: at line 5ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    Cause: The statement is not recognized as a valid SQL statement. This error can occur if the Procedural Option is not installed and a SQL statement is issued that requires this option (for example, a CREATE PROCEDURE statement). You can determine if the Procedural Option is installed by starting SQL*Plus. If the PL/SQL banner is not displayed, then the option is not installed.
    Action: Correct the syntax or install the Procedural Option.

  • Preview of .sql Files.

    Hello.
    On Finder, I can preview all .txt files (a small reproduction of the file's contents). But by default, it is not possible for .sql files. On the preview window, I can only see the file's icon.
    How can I make it possible, since for me, .sql files are just text files, with a different extension (instead of .txt, it has .sql extension).
    Another question: is it possible to change the icon for all files from a specific type (ex. all .sql files)?
    Thanks in advance
    Carlos

    use this link to make quicklook treat .sql files as plain text files
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20071028184428583
    icons for a specific file type are set by the application which is currently the default application for that file type. if you change the default application the icons will all change. you can also change the icon used by the current default application. go to the main Applications folder, locate the application in question, control-click on it and select 'show package contents". then go to Contents->Resources. find the .icns used by the application and replace it by your own .icns file. restart.

    This is the code what i have written
    import java.io.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class ReadExcelFile {
    Connection c;
    Statement stmnt;
    public void checkABA_Number()
    try
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    c = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:ExcelTest","",""); // ExcelTest is the DSN name
    stmnt = c.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmnt.executeQuery("select * from abadata"); // abadata is my Excel file name
    while(rs.next())
    System.out.println(rs.getString(1)+" "+rs.getString(2));
    }catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println(""+e.toString());
    finally
    try
    stmnt.close();
    c.close();
    catch( Exception e )
    System.err.println( e );
    public static void main(String[] args)
    new ReadExcelFile().checkABA_Number();
    My Excel file starts from the first row and first column and also the first row contains the names of the column.
    It give me the following error..
    java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'abadata'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly.
    How can I deal with this.?I have properly selected the worksheet while giving the DSN . Is there any versionig problem with Excel or some drivers are in appropriate..and yes i chose Microsoft Excel Driver (.xsl) from ODBC .
    I created System DSN.
    Can anybody please help me with this ? I will be very gratefull for replies
