Really sliding slide show

Can anyone tell me how this is done, or send me to a
tutorial? I would like to use one long horizontal picture where
only 800 pixels shows. When the user presses advance, the picture
slides to the left 800 (1000?, my choice) pixels to reveal the next
segment, and so on. Ease the start and end of each movement. So
this is literally a "slide" show. And have a "previous" option to
do the same thing backwards.
Flash 7 Mac OSX

http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/tween.htm
I've linked this twice today, but it really is a very nice
tutorial on ActionScripting motion without hand coding
everything....
Ahhh flash 7.
Okay, you'll have to hand code it using either a timeline
loop, or setInterval.
function moveToRight() {
movieClipName._x += 5
function goToNext() {
setInterval(moveToRight, 5);
Calling goToNext will send your mc off to the right, but it
won't ease, and it won't stop.
function moveToRight() {
movieClipName._x += 5
if (movieClipName >= 800) {
clearInterval(myInt);
function goToNext() {
myInt = setInterval(moveToRight, 5);
now it will stop. All you'll need now is to match a curve
with our += 5 (you can do this with % of distance as well... try it
on your own and see if you can get it to work.

  • Just want to do slide shows

Ok. I did a web site in go live. I added slide shows
that i did in iPhoto. The slide show files are too big.
I was told they need to be Flash so that they will load
quickly. I bought Flash, I bought two books but all i want to do is
get these slide shows to play on my web site. Nowhere in any of the
books is there any discussion about something as simple as making
slide show into a flash that I can then put on my web site.
    Help Please!!!!!

I really like Slide Show Pro (
    http://www.slideshowpro.net).
This is a $25 component for Flash.
Needs Flash, you drop the component on the stage, adjust the
component settings to taste and you're done.
It reads your slide show galleries from an external XML file
which is simple to code by hand and there are many tools to be able
to create it you don't want to code it.
Sounds like you don't know much about Flash or ActionScript
so this still might be a little out of your league, though.

  • Combining multiple slide shows

I'm not sure this question was ever really answered. I did see it posted. I have about 5 slide shows that I would like to put on 1 DVD. I can make a menu and link to each individual slide show. But I can't figure out how to play all 5 slide shows from beginning to end. Each slide show has 99 slidees. How do I do this? I need to know from someone this week, if possible. Thanks!

I figured out how to build the playlist. Now I have a playlist with all 5 slideshows on it. What's the next step to put it all on a dvd?

  • How can I control the music that plays during Apple TV photo slide shows?

I don't want to make my parents listen to Breaking Benjamin music as they watch my photo slide shows on Apple TV. Need something more sedate. But if a B.B. song is in my iTunes music library, it is a candidate for random selection as background music for my slide shows. How do I control what music plays during Apple TV photo slide shows?

What I find is really silly, is the fact the music video's are listed under that artists albums in the Music menu. And when you go into the video 'album' (called 'Unknown' unless you change it) there is an option to shuffle the tracks. Clicking this just results in an error message. So, they should either remove that option if it is a video album, or, better yet, GET IT TO WORK. So silly of them to omit this.
    I have submitted feedback.

  • This is my first time using iphoto, I am trying to make a slide show that I can then burn to a dvd. The slide show is complete, but I'm not sure where to go now. Can I burn the slide show from iphoto or do I have to export to imovie or idvd?

I have completed the slide show i am making, but not sure what to do now. I want to burn it to a dvd, but not sure if i can do that from iphoto or do i need to export to imovie or idvd? If i need to export, will iphoto save a copy in iphoto? This may be really stupid, but I don't see an obvious way to save my slide show in iphoto. Please Help!

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
NOTE:  If you're running iPhoto 9.5 the export options will be different.

  • How do I make sure my music will play when I burn a copy of a slide show?

How do I make sure my music will be included when I burn a copy of a slide show.  I have made many many slide shows over the years with the music in perfect sync to the slides.  I recently updated my iMac to OS 7.  I did not want to do it because I heard it created issues with iPhoto. But because I had updated my iPhone and my iPad, and although I don't like OS 7 (the first time  I have not liked an upgrade)  I thought I could figure out how to solve problems/ differences.  Well, this has me stumped.  It plays perfectly on my iMac, but when I burned a copy to share with friends, the music did not burn or transfer.  Does anyone have any ideas why this does not work, and what I have to do to ensure that the music I selected and added to the slide show using the settings did not burn along with the iPhoto slide show?
    Mairzy

I recently updated my iMac to OS 7
What is really your MacOS X version? iOS 7 is the operating system for iPhone, iPad, iPod.
But what versions are you using on your iMac? Have you upgraded to Mavericks, MacOS X 10.9.x and iPhoto 9.5.1, or are you using an earlier version?
It plays perfectly on my iMac, but when I burned a copy to share with friends, the music did not burn or transfer.
How did you export the slideshow and burn the DVD?
To have the music play along with the slideshow, you need to export your Slideshow project as a video file - use the "Export" button below the Slideshow window and select a format.
Check, if the exported video does play well and the audio is present.
Then burn a video DVD using iDVD or Toast, or a similar program to burn video DVDs,  see:

  • IPhoto '08: How can I copy an album or slide show to another computer?

    Hi,
I want to take a slideshow of a trip that I put music to and move it from my iBook to my new iMac so I can use iDVD to make a DVD of the slideshow (since I can't burn DVDs on my iBook). I have TONS of pictures from this trip, so it would really be a pain to cull through them again, even though all of the photos are on both computers.
Is there any way to copy a slide show (or an iPhoto album) to another computer via an external hard drive? I looked in the iPhoto Help and couldn't find anything on the subject.
Thanks for any advice! I promised some tripmates I would send them a DVD of my photos back in October, so I'm starting to feel guilty!
    Karin

    Karin:
Here is one way to create the DVD:
1 - on your iBook with the slideshow ready to do use the Share->Send to iDVD menu option.
2 - once the slideshow is compiled into a Quicktime movie and is exported to iDVD, quit iDVD without saving.
3 - look inside your Movies folder for the QT movie that was just created.
4 - copy that movie file to your iMac.
5 - open iDVD on your iMac, select a theme and add a slideshow to the menu window with the "+" button at the bottom.
6 - open the slideshow editing window by double clicking on the slideshow button or text in the menu.
7 - drag the QT movie into the slideshow window on the left. This will let iDVD scale the QT movie to the TV safe area so non of the movie is lost to the TV overscan that will occur if the movie is added directly to the menu.
8 - once the iDVD project is ready use the File->Save as Disk Image to save the project as a disk image. This allows you to mount the disk image and play it with DVD Player to confirm that the encoding went as it should and there are no typos in the menu or title (my biggest error).
9 - when ready to burn use Disk Utility to burn, at the slowest speed possible, to a DVD-R disk.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How can I burn a slide show to a dvd?

I have tried, every way, possible to burn a slide show with music to a dvd and I did so successfully except that it will only play in a play station 3 unit and not correctly play on any computer or dvd player. I have tried several ways:
-Creating it as an image saving it to my desktop and burning it from disk utilities
-Creating it in iDVD and burning it that way
    I AM using a DVD-R
So, again it will play in the playstation but not on dvd players
    WHAT CAN I DO??
When I burned it using the whole image thing & disc utilities, it burned the slide show correctly but NO music. I would really appreciate your help

Sorry, was trying to get all of these.

  • How can I send a slide show (with music) to different people?

I made a slide show on my MAC desktop for my son's memorial service.  I would like to share it with people who were not able to be there.  Can I share over email
or is there another way?  Please help, if you can...it really means a lot to me!

    Sorry for your loss.
Sharing video via email is not advisable.
Many email services have an attachment limit of 20mb and some a limit of 10mb. As emails are sent through an array of relays, the effective limit is the smallest file size allowed on any of the relays.  That means that video is rarely suitable for emailing. Then there's the whole issue of Codecs and not all machines will have the codecs to play all videos. Plus, folks with slower connections can find it very inconvenient to download large video files.
Finally, sharing video from iPhoto via email is not supported. All that gets you is the Movie thumbnail. If you feel you must share via email then you'll need to export the video first, and attach that. Use the File -> Export command and set the kind  to Original.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
Other than that your options include:
Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material online. That will avoid the codec issues mentions, and the person can still download the video file if they wish.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they download the material to their machines to view.
    Regards
    TD

  • How can I send a slide show with email?

I am trying to send an album but want the receiver to get them as a slide show. does someone knows how?

Note that any kind of file containing a slide show with multiple photos is going to be quite large, most likely, and thus is not really appropriate for e-mail.  Many servers won't accept attachments beyond a certain size, many people operate with strict mailbox size limits, and so your message may never arrive at its destination.  I'd encourage you to do something else.  For example, I think you can create a movie file - possibly using iMovie, I'm not sure though.  Do that and upload it to YouTube, then send people an e-mail invitation to view it.  If desired, YouTube allows you to set it to be viewable only to those who are invited and not to the general public.

  • Newbie Here - How to Create a Slide Show in CS5?

I am using Windows 7 and I am familiar with PSElements 8 where creating a slide show is easy.  I just want to create a slide show in CS5 (in Bridge??  View>Slideshow Options?) using vacation photos from several folders, and I want to order them manually.
First, I can't figure out how to display more than one folder in the Content panel in Bridge.  Second, I can't figure out how to create and intersperse "blank" slides with text.   Third (and I haven't even gotten this far yet), how do I save the slide show and burn a VCD?  This was all so easy and intuitive in PSE8, I can't believe it seems nearly impossible in CS5!
As an alternative, should I simply re-save the photos as JPEGs (they are PSDs now), export them to a Desktop folder, open them in PSE8 and create the slide show there instead?   Thanks for any help and suggestions!

    1) Bridge has a new feature (can't think of the term at the moment) but it works like instancing or virtual copies. Select all of the photo's that you want and place them in the "collection" (Ah I knew I would think of it) Move to another folder and move them into the same collection and so on. These are virtual copies in that they don't really exist, but are a link to the original images. You then can use the collection for the slide show.
    2) Just create a page same size as your photo's in photoshop with what ever color background and put your text on it.
3A)The slide show can be exported as a pdf or swf. Windows can then copy the file to a cd. If you choose swf, you may need to alter the html file (I assume it generates one, if not it isn't har to create one) The html file would help the web browser determine the correct size to display at. If you have flash, it can be used to create a html file as well.
3B)If you would like the slide show to be displayed on a tv screen, then your cd/dvd will need to use a format that your dvd player can play, mp2 is the standard, but some can display jpg's, some are blue ray, etc. For exporting into the correct video format, then one of the following can be used. After Effects, Premeire pro, Encore, Photoshop (If you have quicktime installed and you are using one of the formats that quicktime supports like mp4)
If you have quicktime installed, paying the 20 bucks may be worth it as it will allow you to take your jpg images and generate an animation file as avi or mov. But can save as mp4 as well.
    4) In Bridge you can select all of the images and run image processor on them. This plug in is part of photoshop there fore it will be in the menu's under photoshop. It will let you specify the files size, format and any actions, etc. It will then place them all into a folder that you specify.

  • I would like to know how to add images and create a slide show

The image I try to add to my web page show up as grayed out boxes and never show up.
I would also love to learn how to make a slide show to enhance my home page.
    Thank you!

The easiest way is to go to:
    Insert >> Image
This method will allow you to browse the image you want to insert.  I am, of course, assuming you have defined your site and that you have created a folder for images in line with "best practice" of good web designing.  If not, it doesn't matter because you will get a prompt to move the image to your site if it is not already there.
Good luck anyway and post back.
For slide show, your best option is to google for it because there are some really good scripts out there that can do a fantastic job for you.

I am really needing your help with this. I have created a slideshow in iPhoto for a funeral service for our uncle which is being held this evening. However, I just found out that they need to view this slideshow on a Windows computer.
HELP !! I tried exporting the slide show to iDVD but just want to burn a DVD that will play this looping slide show along with the iTunes playlist they already have set up on this Windows laptop.
Do I have to go through all the theme stuff in iDVD just to create this slideshow that will keep looping ? I don't want it to go back to the chapter menu everytime it finishes.
I am under a really tight time line to get this done...please help.
    Thanks !

I'm not an expert on this, but...
Have you tried exporting the slideshow to a Quicktime Movie? (Select the slideshow, then File>Export). You could burn that to a disc just as a file and play it in Quicktime on the Windows PC. Quicktime has a loop function, so you wouldn't have to mess with chapter menus, etc.
Maybe someone with more experience has a better idea.
    Good Luck,
    Karen

  • PSE 7 Slide Show problems

I have used Photoshop 7 on my computer running vista very successfully but a problem has now arisen. When I use slide show to show some of my selections the pictures are pixelated. This does not apply to all selections. I note that the pixelated pictures are c 400% but the ones that are ok are  40%. If I do not allow the pictures to resize in slide show thet are only small. Any help would be appreciated. This has only happened recently and I cant remember if I have had an adobe downloaded update which might have affected this.

    Hi Bob
Thanks for coming back to me so quick, I will try & explain the problem in
    more detail.
I have all of the photos in My Catalogue tagged ie 2009 Holiday, Mothers
Birthday etc so that by selecting the tag and then display in full screen I
can show them in a slide show to friends & family. This has always worked
well until last week when I called up a slide show of a past holiday the
pictures were very pixelated. All photos are not affected. Some holidays I
select in slide show are ok. If I look at individual pictures in my
catalogue most are ok but many are pixelated. Any pictures that have not
been adjusted in PSE 7 are ok.
Any picture viewed in full screen in slide show has in the top left pop up
menu a % of less than 100%, typically 35 - 75%. Any of the pixelated
    pictures have a % 350 - 450%.
I originally had Elements 2 but upgraded to PSE 7 when I changed to Vista
because of album problems, apart from problems converting my catalogue
originally all has worked very well. Apart from the recent update the only
other thing which I have done is to start a back up which I aborted because
it was taking a long time to do. I have 4,600 photos in my catalogue and the
problem slide shows are random throughout but appear to be trouble free up
to about the end of 2004. ie a holiday slide show before then seems to be
ok. The latest photos put into the catalogue this month, post upgrade & post
attempted back up are ok. I have also found that if I expand a photo that
has been modified in PSE 7 although the modified picture is pixelated the
original displays ok. I hope that this more fully explains my problem but if
you require more information please let me know. I really do appreciate you
looking at this for me. It is very frustrating when something that was
working perfectly for me then goes **** up!
    Regards
    David
